I was close to my Dad but my sisters and mother were not. They united against him after the divorce like a gang. So I pulled away from them. Now that my Dad has died I have interacted more with my two sisters and my mother again. My Dad died one year ago yesterday. This Christmas is coming and I feel sad my Dad is gone. No one in his family lives nearby so I have no way to connect to him. I know my mother will not want to discuss him as anytime I mention him her hate for him begins to spew and my sisters join in. My Dad did have alcoholism so in fairness to my mother being married to him was hard but I looked past just the drinking. How can I get them to understand as last year they were dancing around happy and agitated I wasn't which led to them degrading him to me. What do I do?

My relationship with my daughter is very close, and I'm worried that it may be becoming romantic. She was born when I was only fifteen, and now she's nineteen, in college but still living at home. Her mother died in childbirth. It's always been just us. We tell each other everything, seek each other for counsel, and we're best friends. Not that she's "Daddy's girl." She's independent, she hangs out with friends and boyfriends, and she calls me "Dad." She's not a virgin, and I'm at peace with that because she's responsible. She did admit to me once that I was the first person she masturbated thinking of, but nothing awkward came of it. She acts her age, she's incredibly mature. She's an old soul. Hi I m ally and I m 14 years old. I have a lot of issues in my family but that not really the point of this question. My friends are off playing soccer and doing other activities that they love like going to camp and I m sitting here doing nothing because my parents don t have enough money. I love playing volleyball but my dad wouldn t let me use his credit card to try out for a team. (Side note: my sister can play soccer for years but I can t play volleyball?) Or another example... I love playing the viola and my parents won t let me get lessons to go to Nysma or let me try out for an orchestra. I want to pursue my passions but I know we don t have enough money. My grandmother died 3 months ago, a few days before my first day of school. that night my cousin and her went to bed ( They had a sleepover because they didn t get to see each other much.) I said good night to them and went to my room and went to sleep( I lived with my grandma and parents.) The next morning I woke up at about 9am and heard he alarm going off. I didn t think much of it since that was the usual. I went down stairs did my morning roution and then my mom and I went shopping. While we ere shopping my moms phone died. So on our way to the next town we went home to check in. We were driving down our street and saw cop cars we both started freaking out. When my mom pulled to the house there were tons of cop cars My mom thought something happened to my brother (He s 4) we ran into the yard and i saw my brother through the window. My mom ran up to my dad and said "Moms gone" My mom started crying and yelling. Long story short she went into a diabetic coma and passed in her sleep. My 8yr old cousin tried to wake her up but she wouldst wake up so she got my dad. My parents decided we are going to move after i graduate in a few months and I have to leave my friends. and my boyfriend broke up with me because of my moving and I don t like showing my feelings. She was the only person i could talk to. Idk how to tell my parents that i ve felt deppressed for as long as i could remember. I feel like they won t belive me and think i want attenttion. I don t have many friends.

My little sister is a troublemaker to say the least. She keeps getting arrested for s***. My mom had to go to the hospital for an ulcer. It's probably stress related. Little sister drinks and sneaks kids in through the house and her window all the time and they get drunk and everything above. My mom and I work and go to school and this little girl keeps getting in trouble and we can't handle it anymore I can't keep leaving work and school for her anymore we feel helpless in this situation we don't know what to do with her. They never take her to juvie and we don't know any facilities that will take her.

My cousins parents have a warped mind. They have been trying to force him to lose weight for 5 years but he doesn't want to. He has been the same weight/height/size for 5 years. My cousin was with a guy that is my boyfriend bestfriend. My cousin would treat him like **** and be so rude to him in front of me and other people. One day she got a little drunk and she told me how she sent nudes to another guy during their relationship and how she wanted to be with him and not her current boyfriend. Me and my boyfriend have been dating for 4 years now and I tell him everything. He was so tempted to tell his bestfriend my cousins boyfriend everything but I stopped him because that wasn't our business to get into. 5 months later they broke up because she had went behind her boyfriends back to go hangout with the guy she sent nudes to. My boyfriend being a good bestfriend told him to not get back with her because she had done some other stuff. So we told him the truth. Keep in mind they were already broken up. I just found out my younger sister is having depression. Me her and her friend all live in the same house. She stayed in her friends room last night she started to cry when her friend was painting her nails. She was talking to her she said that shes gonna kill herself she can't handle it anymore. She's been trying to get help but no one will help her. She cries at almost everything for no reason. She's sad all the time. Whenever she's around me she's always happy her friend told me shes pretending to be happy so I don't have to worry about her. She said shes scared to come to me or her for help. I will often babysit for my sister or hang out at her place. She has two children. She is divorced. Her children (4 and 6) will throw tantrums if they do not get what they want. They rarely say please or thank you. If anyone sits next to my sister on the couch they will throw a tantrum and tell the person to get up. Her kids will also say the person can sit there but only if they do not want to. The other day her son daughter (6) told me I could sit down because she and her brother did not want to sit there. I told her that it was not her choice and I was the adult not her and her brother and I could sit where I wanted and it wasn't up to them. My sister thought I was being too harsh, was i?

He is an alcoholic and I left early when I found him drunk as he started cursing about my mother (parents are divorced). As I was leaving he said "I hate you as much as your mother" and called me the B word. However, he was very drunk. So does he really hate me if he says these things or do drunks say things they don't mean? I have heard alcohol makes them speak the truth and others say they are like 5 year olds that yell "I hate you" and don't mean it to their parents and siblings.

Question: Is it considered unacceptable for an autistically challenged young man to live with his parents 10, 20, even 30 years after they graduate?

So my sister has been writing her personal statements for uni and she has to mention non academic achievements . She put down that she was a prefect, peer mentor, apart of the student council and went to Explorers for 3 years (up until she was too old to go anymore). I think she will definitely get in because of this extra stuff she did in school. This also got me thinking, would I get in too when I m old enough? I ve also done extra stuff such as Scouts over the course of 3 years (2 years exactly I think), earned certificate of excellence and trophy for gymnastics from sports plus scheme and in year 8 I was chosen for an Art workshop in my school. Is this enough? If not what other things could me and my sister do?

My mother and i have been abused for a long time, since i was 8, but even before my brother and i were born. our abuser is my aunt. We have been hit and kicked out of the house by her (not even her house we live with grandma) she thinks she has complete authority over the house and our lives. for decades police NEVER HELPED US. can you believe being beaten and calling for help just to say its a family matter 'just take it easy, cool it down" ? a few days ago my mom was violently woken up in her sleep by my aunt a couple nights ago. this aunt also does drugs and has been 51/50 before. years ago. still does drugs and probably using when this happened. my aunt flipped out because her bf wasnt texting her back so she immediately thought my mom was talking to him. thats crazy stupid because all her bfs are drug users and my mother has never done drugs in her life and has easily stayed away from that type of crowd. my aunt the next day bought a single rose with a tiny teddy bear attached to it with a note saying "oxoxo to my sweet sissy im sorry. me dumbass!" my mom reminded me of the time my father hurt her and then brought her flowers the next day. my mom and i thinks thats kind of a sick way to say you are sorry after abusing someone. what do you think? my aunt won't get help because she knows she has to quit drugs but all the ppl she hangs out with are users. i just want to know is that an act or sign of mental illness? to abuse someone and then bring them gifts like that? could this be a sign of mental illness from an abuser?

This is a long story but please read. My parents divorced when I was a baby. My mom raised me and my 4 siblings. I have 4 older siblings, they all live on their own. Right now is just me and my twin sister (we're both 14). We live with our mom and we visit our dad at least once every month. I feel really uncomfortable when I'm over at his house. I'm a male who is 18, reserved when it comes to girls. I'm nervous around them all the time. Growing up I've been teased at by relatives and people in school. Often I would just think about girls I like when stressed over homework or home life. She tells me bad things about people I like but she hates. She is my Mom so I assume she is telling the truth but could she be lying since the hate in her is so deep? The daughter was unmotivated as a teen and would tell fibs regularly. So when she finished high school and then quit her job and lied about it my aunt cut her from family activities. This was 4 years ago. Since then the cousin has gotten a job, works 6 days a week, and while she still might distort stories she is not a habitual liar. The aunt is willing to forgive when the daughter is ready to fully embrace her mother and repent of the high school flaws. In the meantime the aunt keeps making jabs at the daughter and has serious hatred of her. The daughter is sad by it but doesn't make much of an effort to get in touch if any. So am I right in this story that the mother here (my aunt) should be more forgiving even though the daughter has some flaws? She is wonderful to her other daughter who was a straight A student and kisses up to the Mom out of anxiety. And also good to her son who is Autistic and like a robot to his mother's commands. She is divorced and the ex is an alcoholic and largely out of the picture.

My mom has never been there for me. She steals my money and clothes and she is a hooker who does drugs and drinks alcohol. She is abusive towards me. I only got to meet my dad a few times before, and he is a drug addict like my mom is. I grew up at my grandparents house and then my grandma went to jail for a few years so the only person i could trust in my life was my grandpa. When my grandma came back out of jail she became really mean and off. My grandpa died a few years after that and it triggered my mental illness. My grandma got hooked on drugs and also became a alcoholic after that and she became very abusive. Right now i am currently living in the apartment my mom and her girlfriend is living in. I hate my step mom because she is the same way my mom is and she thinks she has the right to take my things. I can easily run away but i don t have money. I can t stand my life and i know people are gunna try to convince me to stay and say that I m gunna be okay but you won t understand untill you go threw with atleast half of the things i have been threw. I tried to kill myself many times but i know now that, that is not the way to handle things. I want to go somewhere where i can blend in with a big crowd. I m stuck between either going to a big city or going to somewhere more deserted like the mountains or a farmland. I know this might sound crazy but i really need to weather anyone is willing to give me any advice or not. I live in the United States by the way. Thank you X

Background: I've always had a difficult relationship with my father, one that seems to be me always seeking his love and support, and he is just not that father. Add to the mix his girlfriend who spends her time lying to him bout me, she has told him things ranging from I'm on drugs to I steal from him when I visit them. I mean, it's craziness. He does things like, conditional love and says things to me like "I love you, but I don't like you" or when I call he talks to me like I'm a burden on his time. Anyway, I've tried talking to him and he at first is listening and seems sincerely interested in making our reationship better...he'll accuse me of making him feel guilty and that I don't love him and I just want his money and etc. any time I spend with him or on the phone, I always walk away grieving for him. I don't know what to do. I can't have a relationship with him, and every time I see him or talk with him, this woman he is with rips it apart and he accuses me of things that are not true. I got caught smoking weed and my parents flipped out idk why they see it worse than alcohol but they do well my dad is wanting to test me and i literally smoked last night. I never do it inside the house I drive somewhere and do it then come home. I'm actually getting a little pissed off because its becoming harder and harder to do I'm about to the point if they catch me again I'm just going to say "I do this I don't see a problem with it and you will have to get use to it". I'm 18 btw which i know doesn't justify it much but still if I'm old enough to enlist in the military I should be able to smoke a harmless joint. So pretty much my first time smoking was almost exactly a year ago every since then I've smoked here in there and lately I've been smoking weekly this past month all of my guy friends smoke and always asked me to smoke and that's the first time I tried smoking . I come from a culture were parents CONTROL there child entire live & make every choice for them. A child giving there good voice, good opinion, or good choice, for there own life is DISRESPECT. Parents live your life for you, make choices for you & you got listen to everything they say that RESPECT. My problem is my parents want me to marry a Indian man I barely know then get pregnant with him. They said this will bring honor to our family & make our family stand out. I'm NOT interest in marrying a Indian stranger I'm not in love with, I'm NOT interest in having sex aka (making lust)/loosing my virginity to him, & lastly I'm not interested in being pregnant with his children. I won't EVER consider him my husband or love him, or consider his children mine. He could keep those children I'm NOT interest in caring for those children & making them follow the same mess culture of letting parents CONTROL the child entire life. All I want is choose/marry a man who I love & he love me too, then when we deicide have a child we will make love, then have a child. Those children I will consider MINE. You guys might say that it is none of my business but it is. He is 65 he couldn't take care of the kids he got now let alone a baby. He is way too old to have a kid. Buy the time the kid is 10 he will be 75. My dad is crazy. He is also a really moody man. I'm afraid that he will be mean to this kid and possibly hurt him or her. Question: I feel depressed that Christmas is coming and my grandparents have died and we won't see their families. How do I get over this and enjoy?

When I was a kid we lived far away from my Dad's side of the family. So Christmas was just my Mom's sister, my maternal grandparents, and us. My grandparents and aunt would travel to see us. When I was 14 we moved back to where my parents were born and where we lived until I was 6. We started having Christmas with everyone (all my Dad's family) and it was great. We did this for 12 of 14 years. Then both grandparents died 6 months apart. The first year we still did Christmas with everyone. Now my Dad's siblings travel two to the beach, one to in-laws, and the fourth is going with his son to New Zealand. So once again it is just my Mom's family (her Mom is still alive and her sister) as well as my parents and siblings (plus two nephews now). It feels so sad because it is like the days when I was a kid again. I miss the grandparents and extended family at the holidays so much. So how can I still enjoy Christmas? Same question for Thanksgiving as my Mom's Mom has us travel for Thanksgiving every year to her sister's. I don't want it to be bad but I don't want to deny my feelings of sadness.

I'm 13 and my cousin is 33 years old. He had a stroke a couple of years ago. He's a angry guy and is ready to she'll omeone at a moments notice. I love my cousin and I wouldn't ever hit him because his my big bro in my eyes but he needs to chill out! He was about to punch his own mom one time! When I told my aunt he makes me feel like he's going to something to me she flew off the handle! She told me she'll use lethal force on me if necessary if I make her think I'm going to touch her son! I told her this 3 years ago and to this very day my aunt still looks upside my head!

My dad's dad is Egyptian and my dad's mom is French Canadian, but he was born here in the United States and my mom is Moroccan so what should I say to people when they ask me what country am I from and I just want to say one country?

I hate my mom. She calls me a peice of shi* everyday and calls me a bitc* and a spoiled brat. She says I'm an ungrateful piece of shi*. She always says "what sin did I do to have you as a daughter". I ask her for something and she yells, then blames it on me that I yelled first. We fight everyday. This has led me to self harm. I don't know what to do anymore..

Im 22. Hes like 25 or 26. We grew up not knowing each other. My dad was a drunk a$$ hole. He took my brother (we are only half sibling not full) well the last few years ive tried to talk to him and get to know him. He barely replies to my messages. If he does he will quit after a few messages. He said he wanted to hang out a few times and i got all ready to hang out and then he wouldn't reply to me. Its been like 3 years ive been trying should i just give up we are not full brother and sister anyway ?

My dads mother has blue, his dad has green. My mothers mom has blue eyes, her dad has green. My mothers grandparents both have blue.....what are the chances that I would have dark brown? Both of my older siblings have blue and green eyes.

I am 14 and have been wanting to go to public school my entire life. I have always wanted to make my own friends, and do something different from my siblings. I get depressed at home all the time, and have even attempted suicide. I believe my mom homeschools for selfish reasons. I am aware that I want to leave for selfish reasons. I have tried "Let me buy you some coffee, I have something to talk to you about." She will never even listen to what I have to say, or reasoning. she just starts yelling at me about how selfish and ungrateful I am. I have considered running away, but runaways aren't allowed to enter the public school system. how do I get my mom to listen? I have atried asking her if I could go for just one semester to see how it goes. I have tried talking to her so many times. she always interrupts so I have to stop and listen to her yell the same thing over and over again. Yes my siblings have tried with me. it just makes her angrier

In compelete honesty, I'd much rather live at my mom's house. But I know my brother will always be there. He is 9 and I am 12, and he is the worst person I have ever met. He calls me fat and ugly as part of my daily schedule, constantly hitting me and kicking me. I love my mom so much but she seriously does NOTHING about it. She thinks he's this little golden angel child! I just don't know what to do anymore! I'm almost 13 and I cry EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I don't know when my brother got like this, but if this keeps up- his physical and verbal abusing- I am moving to my dad's.

She destroys relationships of mine to get revenge on her enemies (her siblings). I don't want to be bitter at my mother as she otherwise is a good person. Plus bitterness only hurts me. So how do I get past this? What do I do when the anger towards her comes on? She is the enemy
