Question: Why are weddings so awkward and tricky to plan when one or both parents have new partners? Posted: 08 Jul 2016 09:54 PM PDT Both stepmom and mom want to be MOB and both father and stepfather want to be the one walking the bride down the aisle. My fiancé and I are paying for the wedding and there s all this drama and yelling on the phone about the wedding plans, the invites the program and the venue. We are thinking about eloping now, but I know that this would get both sets of the stepfamily and biological family upset along with my parents. What should we do? |

Question: Did I make the right decision? Posted: 04 Jul 2016 07:40 AM PDT My fiancé and I have been together on and off for 5 years. During one of our breaks, I briefly got with another girl. During that time period, my fiancé and I discovered we missed each other, so I dumped that other girl. A few weeks later, that girl called me and told me she was pregnant. I paid for an in utero DNA test, and the child was mine. I told that girl that if she decides to keep it, all I'm going to be is a co-parent. I told her I'll only come around for the baby because I was raised not to be a deadbeat dad. My fiancé understood, and said she still wanted to marry me. Well, things got sour lately. My fiancé and I spent months planning a wedding. And by bad luck on our wedding day, my baby mama went into labor. When I heard the news, my gut instinct was to leave and attend my baby's birth. My fiancé was angry and hurt. She was upset because her parents had paid all this money for our wedding and I had to flake out. Her parents had already booked the location, caterers, etc. and that money is non-refundable. Also, we both had families travel from out of town to see us get married. She stated that I wasted their time. I told her I felt bad about all that, but I needed to be there for my son. She didn't even ask how the baby was doing. She even added that our wedding was more important than the baby because it cost more. I then got a little upset and told her she was being a little selfish herself. Who's right? What should I have done? And what should I do now? |
Question: Need a grandpa/granddaughter song for my wedding? Posted: 02 Jul 2016 11:22 AM PDT I'm getting married next summer and I need a song for my grandpa and I to dance to. He's going to be 88 and is still my best friend. He's still full of it and is the sweetest happiest soul I've ever known. If you have any song ideas please let me know! Thank you |
