Question: Need advice on how to control out of control mom at wedding…? Posted: 17 Jul 2016 09:06 PM PDT I am getting married and my mom is going a bit crazy. I understand there is an element of the fact that she is my mom and moms can go some what crazy when they love you. But she is wanting to do everything. Photographer, cake maker, walk me down the isle, videographer, etc. I'm not even joking. She has a past of never following through, so even if I did assign her a job, I couldn't trust it would be done, and she also has a past of getting very offended and playing the victim card when you are just honest with her. She really is trying to take a bride's big day and make it a business opportunity for herself. ( she sells crafts and does photography for a living) I want my mom at my wedding and just be able to enjoy the wedding. She is just crossing my boundaries that I'm giving her and it's getting to a point where I don't know how to be any more clear that I don't want her to do all these jobs. She has in the past not shown up to big days like this for my older siblings out of being offended. I'm basically at a decision of 1. keep my mouth shut and have my mom walk over me or 2. open my mouth and have my mom not come to the wedding. ugh….. advice? |
Question: Wedding Website: Is it free and necessary? Posted: 17 Jul 2016 08:18 PM PDT My questions: 1). What is a wedding website? 2). Is it free to make it? 3).Will my fiancé and I have to pay for it later? 4). Is it necessary? I have this app on my phone that is associated with TheKnot. It's called guestbook and it allows me to create a wedding website but I don't know if it's free or not and I don't want to trust it until my questions are answered at least. Those are my questions and I have a lot of them most are answered as far as a color scheme and vendors. Now these questions need to be answered so I can learn more! xD Homework is so much fun! (Nope) Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it. :) |

Question: Outdoor Wedding Aisle Runner? Posted: 17 Jul 2016 06:51 AM PDT I am having an outdoor wedding on Aug 20th. It will be lakeside. The ceremony area will be set up on top of hard ground. Its a little sandy but not sand you have to tread like the beach. It is also dirt mixed in. My fear is my dress will get dirty underneath the train and when I bustle for the reception, the dirt will be visible. I think an aisle runner will prevent this. My question is what site or store is the best to buy a runner that will not blow away or wrinkle up? I am wearing a flat sandal so heels are not an issue. |
Question: Was it important fo you to have a big wedding? Posted: 17 Jul 2016 01:42 AM PDT Before meeting my boyfriend/fiance of 20 years, I was married to my 1st husband for a little over a year, before he died. My boyfriend/fiance and his 1st wife were separated and going through a divorce, when she passed away. We went through the big wedding experience, with our 1st spouses. The people closest to us in our lives think that we should have a big wedding, because we've been together for such a long time. We are firmly against the idea of a big wedding, primarily because we've been through it before, the timing, and the expense. We are planning something small, intimate, elegant, and low cost. We're a very low key, and laid back couple. We want our wedding to reflect our personality. It's not important for us to have a big wedding. Was it important for you to have a big wedding? |
Question: Wedding etiquette...pushy people? Posted: 16 Jul 2016 05:17 PM PDT We are planning my daughters wedding and a friend that we weren't going to invite asked if they could come. How do I handle this? Invite? Don't? Say something? |
