Question: Where is the best place to purchase an engagement ring and why? Posted: 11 Jul 2016 08:31 PM PDT We've been looking at JCPenney because it seems to be one of the few places that has a good lifetime warranty plan but I haven't seen a ring there that I really love. We're not sure where else to look. We don't want the most expensive ring there is but we want something nice. |
Question: He HAs A GF BUt Asked Me OUt To Eat? Does this mean he doesn't love his gf? Posted: 11 Jul 2016 07:44 PM PDT we're just acquaintances and on the same career path. but after asking me to go it was more like he wanted it to be in the future not a soon thing like to go after I take my exam. I tried rushing it and saying about how about next week and he said sounds good but then messaged me saying someone's been using his credit card and once he sorted it out he'd text me and we'd go. What was he trying to do? was he trying to imply he was paying or just getting out of it? I like him and i have a gut feeling he likes me. Am I wrong thougH? |
Question: How much to give as a wedding gift? Posted: 11 Jul 2016 06:35 PM PDT I really hate the typical answer of give what you can, because in this situation I am a little peeved. When my husband and I got married last year, his friend was in our wedding. He didn't show up to the wedding rehearsal, but dared to show his face at rehearsal dinner that same day (just 4 hours later). His excuse was work. I get that you have to work, but taking a day off for your friend's wedding isn't going to kill you. He also brought his girlfriend to our wedding, who was just a new fling without telling us and gave us a $20 gift. He had no involvement in a bachelor party or anything. Now it is his time to get married, to that girl he brought. We are flying (domestically), but at a cost of 350 dollars a ticket x 2. What softens the blow is that the groom is the son of a family friend, so we will be seeing family from california. What I am not sure about, is how much to gift. We are spending over 700 in plane tickets plus luggage, and 3 days off work. I do admit, at the least, I would need is 1 day, but the haul from Delaware to Texas is quite the trip. What do you say? My husband is in school and I work and make about 48K. |
Posted: 11 Jul 2016 02:51 PM PDT I need help. I love my FDIL and am happy her and my Son are marrying. There wedding plans have been changed many times by her Mother and they have expressed it so many times to me. I've done well (I think) at restraining from input or telling them what to do. So Bride's Mom has gotten her way - most of the time. BUT my problem is, I've now had my feelings hurt as someone has thrown my FDIL a work shower and my Son and FDIL a couples shower. I've always found out about it on FB. Each time the Mom's been there. The Mom does work at same business but not same circle plus the Mother's, Mother and Aunt were both there and they don't work there. Then the Mother was at the couples shower. She's a widow, so definitely not a couple. I haven't said anything as I don't want to cause issues, but this is really bugging me. Now I'm getting little hints that the bride's Mom is having concern over the food for rehearsal dinner. Should I ask my family to throw her a shower and not invite bride's family? I feel excluded. I appreciate Mama's... response and yes rehearsal dinner - I am 100% picking up that tab, so it IS MY business. I suggested the MOG shower as a way to solicit advice on whether or not to address with my SON, and you're wrong, my FDIL did create both invitation listings with her Mother. |
Question: Recreating wedding photos over a year later because of bride's weight loss? Posted: 11 Jul 2016 01:49 PM PDT I weighed 167 pounds on the day of my wedding and my husband was 160. I don't like that I outweighed my groom and I wasn't the bride I always dreamed I'd be... I just didn't feel like myself, at least not the me I envisioned. It's even visible in my face in the close ups. Anyway I wouldn't think of enlisting the bridesmaids and parents etc but how weird is it for my husband and I to recreate the look and hire a photographer to recreate the bride and groom / bride portraits after 30 pound weight loss? |
Question: I need advice on my Maid of Honor Speech? Posted: 11 Jul 2016 12:13 PM PDT My best friend is getting married in a couple of months and I need to write a MOH speech. I have searched online and Pinterest and found some good "layouts" and quotes but I have one problem--The soon to be newlyweds have been together longer than I have know the bride so I don't have any "cute" stories on how they met or how she was before him.. I was wondering what advice you have to giving a speech when I've only know less time than her husband to be. We didn't grow up together so I don't have any childhood stories either, we have just become best friends in the past couple years so I don't know what to say.... Thanks!!! |
