Question: How long should I wait for someone to tell me if they want to be in my wedding? Posted: 19 Jul 2016 07:44 PM PDT My fiancé and I have each chosen 4 people to be potential attendants in our wedding. One of mine (his sister) said no, that she hated dresses, but I wasn't sure if that statement was fully true. *I* hate certain types of dresses myself! (More than once I've heard people make sweeping statements that turned out to not be fully true. For example, my fiancé told me once that he didn't like coffee, but then he ordered coffee when we went out on a date! He then told me he liked SOME coffee.) I sent her a letter about 5 months ago to find out FOR SURE if she wanted to be excluded from the wedding party, and she hasn't answered me. He and I don't know for sure when we're going to get married, but our TENTATIVE date is 10 1/2 months away. I have someone else in mind to ask that I KNOW would be there for me, but I don't want to give up on my future sister-in-law too soon, especially since my fiancé wanted her in the wedding. (By the way, he hasn't yet gotten answers from any of his attendants either.) I am really trying hard not to be a Bridezilla. What should I do? |
Question: How much did you pay for your wedding cake? Posted: 19 Jul 2016 05:04 PM PDT I'm just trying to get a range of prices, so I have an idea of what's on the average price end, and what's on the high end. Thanks. |
Question: Is planning a wedding a good reason to go from a full time job to part time? Posted: 19 Jul 2016 04:41 PM PDT My boss doesn't want me to switch to part time because she really needs people working but I am planning a wedding. I'm talking about it to her soon. Isn't it a good reason to switch to part time? The wedding will probably be in October or November. It's a seasonal job and I don't need the money. Thanks for your "help" on this one everyone. You know there is a better way to give people advice with kindness and care. Not with hate and insults. |

Question: Am I being selfish for not wanting to go to my friends wedding? Posted: 19 Jul 2016 08:57 AM PDT So, I have a friend whom I've known since she was born, .Now 24, she has a ring on her finger. They were planning on getting married in Jan of 2017, which is great, I figured i'd have the slow time off work and i could go home and spend time with them. Since my work doesn't allow holiday travel from 11/23-1/3. I have the time off, and i was saving it for half that trip and half when they come see me in April. (I moved out of state June 2016 for a job) The night before i was leaving She told me they moved the wedding from January '17 to Sepetmber 2016. i.e. 2 months from now. and she knew about this change for quite a while and told me the night before i left. Now I'm really frustrated because i spent a good chunk of my savings moving out here..Figured I'd be settled by Jan. ticket prices back home during that time are literally in the $400 range for round trip. I'm stressing out because i have no friends yet, which means i have to board my dog, which terrifies me to no end. And since I'm new at work my boss said she may not have the time since others asked before I got there. She said maybe a weekend. but i cant justify $400 + boarding for a weekend it's too much.. She asked me to be a bridesmaid through the mail and I was asked to skype sunday for her bridal shower. I got home after work and texted someone from the party to skype. The response: "everyone's already gone, It was a fun party". ugh, done. |
