Question: Is it normal to be a university student with only three friends? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 05:49 PM PDT While I have lost count of the number of people I have dated or had sex with, I can count only three friends (as in, people I talk to who are not related to me by blood). Is that normal or is there something wrong with me? I find it extremely difficult to hold a conversation, and if it's with a man I get erotic tension straight away. |

Question: Why am i so awkward? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 05:32 PM PDT So im a16 year old girl a senior in a highschool and ive always been shy and awkward unless someone starts a conversation with me i really cant speak out. But this year i found myself in many awkward situations and its only been 3 days of school and its killing me. People can tell i feel uncomfortable and awkward when they talk to me. This year i decided to go out of my shell and meet new people but this can be really hard when everyone is a jerk and youre a boring person. This year me and my two friends met a group of guys who are actually jerks or idiots but theyre funny and we thought hanging out with different people would be okay. But today me and my friend were super awkward like everyone in the group was starring at us and didint know what to say bc we were pressured to be cool and say something stupid to fit in. And the guys asked why we were being quiet and then made fun of my friend and she stayed quiet and everyone looked at us like we were really lame and then the guy was like "sorry we took your table, but you can leave now" LIKE ME AND MY FRIENDS WERE THERE FIRST AND now that they see how awkward we are theyre trying to get rid of us and i felt so mad because the other girls were so cool with them and me and my friend looked so dumb. But we cant help it were just awkward we dont know how to talk to people or we get also get judged for being ourselves. |
Question: Crappy friend OR Just in Love?!?!?!? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 05:30 PM PDT All of us known a friend at some-point who just can't balance between his GF and Best Friend.. When they are SINGLE, they are your right-hand man; practically living at your place! Then it happens, they come over one night to tell you that they are seeing someone VERY SPECIAL.. You fake excitement and say "That's GREAT! I'm really happy for you!" and inside you twitch "Aaaand I'm never going to C U again, right? BYE!" Maybe I am a bit jealous.. but.. I know that everytime he's in "SERIOUS" relationship he just disappears! He returns few months later and reemerge only when things have gone to crap!! When he reappears almost going to cry my first reaction is "F*** YOU! You go Missing for months now U remember me when you hit a brick wall?! As if!" I forgave him twice before.. but it's the same cycle once he meets someone VERY SPECIAL again -_- It's been about 6 months now.. he ditches me.. he uses me to fill in time when she's going to be late an hour or two.. we used to get drunk and laugh and bond at nights, but now I get drunk and wasted alone as he sits in front of me texting her for hours like I don't even exist (won't speak a word!).. he parks on roadside for more than 15 minutes leaving me waiting every now and then so he could talk on the phone with her... THEN when he returns, he wants to talk about her! :/ It's been 3 months now since I spoke with him cause I decided to give him space and not to be a nagging single friend. What should I do?! |

Posted: 22 Jul 2016 04:45 PM PDT She's cheating on him and is only using him for money. He makes 6 figures at his job, has a good retirement package and stands to inherit millions from his 90 year old mom. I just can't be friends with someone who justifies her cheating because she's not happy but brags how good she's got it with him because they have lots of money. Am I right for breaking off my friendship with her? I want honest, quality people in my life. I just want to punch her when she talks about all the dogs she meet. |
Question: Do you guys think she did this stuff because of me or no? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 04:43 PM PDT was walking with my friend to class & I saw the girl I like there & I was looking her but then I just looked away. But then later we pass by again at the hallway & i turn around to look at her but she hide behind her friend. Then later when she came to class I was looking at her & she caught me looking so I just looked away. Then when she went over to talk to her teacher & I was looking at her but she was looking straight ahead & then I stopped looking. Then later when i turn around I saw her at the back of the class & she was looking at me but then later she left class early? |
Posted: 22 Jul 2016 04:06 PM PDT So recently, I was feeling very left out of the group of friends I hung out with. They had sleepovers together without me, went to Disneyland without inviting me, etc. I decided to let them know that I was feeling left out, and it didn't end up well. The worst part is that my so called "friends" twisted what actually happened and now I have no friends... They know who my other friends are and now they're turning them against me. Honestly I have no idea who I'm going to sit with for lunch during school. I just have to survive one year, and I can go to a new school and start fresh. There are currently three groups of friends I'm debating on to hang out with for when school starts: 1. "Popular Girls" one of my friends who left the group I was originally in and started hanging out with them, however I don't know any of the people there that well except for that one friend 2. Jessica and Ally, so I became friends with these two people (let's call them Jessica and Ally), and they're super nice. However Ally is becoming really close to my old friends and I have a feeling that she's going to start sitting with them this year, and Jessica will just follow her 3. Bella, so I also have another friend (let's call her Bella) and she's super nice but recently she's also become super close to my old friends. She's become a lot more distant and cold towards me and I have a feeling they told her the twisted truth to turn her against me. All answers are helpful! |
Question: Is finding friends in the internet dangerous? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 03:49 PM PDT if you want to have friends and have a good life. first think. what things do i have in my life. what opportunities. where am i loved? now after thinking those first 3 steps. start to value them. and you will get real friends i say this because it's true. online friends are predators most of the time. i really care on disabling the internet |
Question: Why did she do this? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 03:42 PM PDT I have been really close with my friend for years. We talked at least once a week but it seemed to become less and less frequent after I got married. Once a week turned into once every six weeks, then once every six months. Out of nowhere yesterday I noticed she deleted me on Facebook. I know it sounds childish and silly but I m so hurt. I emailed her and asked her if I upset her or offended her in any way and she said "no you didn t. But I don t agree with the way you re living your life. You cheated on your husband with his friend while you were dating and you never told him. Then you tout on social media about how much you love him. I can t be friends with someone who is so two faced. Take care" I did NOT cheat on my husband while we were dating. He took me away for a weekend (we were just friends at this point) and I slept with his friend. Why is that HER business? Is that worth ending a friendship over? |
Question: Does any (hopefully pretty, white female) want to be friends? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 03:28 PM PDT Hi guys (and girls), I'm a 15 year old guy looking for friends. I don't have many and want one or more to talk to, whether via email or text. I'm white, and I'd prefer if they're white too because I have social anxiety and I can better relate to white people. Also, I would prefer to talk to girls around my age. (Like 14-16) I'd love if they were pretty too, but I can't really help that. I'll talk to guys too, but girls are usually nicer to me. The reason I'd prefer they be pretty is that I never get to know pretty girls talking face to face; like I said I have social anxiety so either I don't talk to them (most of the time) or I make a fool of myself in front of them (the rest of the time). This way I could communicate via text, iMessage or email or something like that and not make a fool out of myself so much. I have an Instagram too if anyone wants it. You can use it to prove I'm real. It's private but I will accept you. If you fit those requests and want to make me happy and be friends, let me know either in the answers or via email. Thanks in advance |
Question: Is she a true friend? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 03:26 PM PDT My best friend and I have been friends for 6 years. When we entered middle school we started to drift apart and she became friends with all the girls who gossip and are rude and mean. She was never like that but she would sometimes try to show off and act exactly like them. We were still friends just not as close, we did cheer together. Our summer started 1 month ago and we planned to hangout during the summer. Maybe a week ago I asked her to hangout but she had plans so I just let it slide. I asked again a few days ago but yet again she had plans. And once again I asked her but she had plans..again. I was staring to think something was up, so I asked her why she had plans like every single day, I understand it s summer but how can she tell me she has plans when she goes to the beach with her clique like almost everyday. She always gives me the same answers but now I just feel like she doesn t like me and doesn t want to be friends with me. I once asked her that she said your one of my best friends but she doesn t even ask me to hangout with her and she never once invited me to her birthday parties. Please help me out!! Should I talk to her? |
Question: Friend with Depression Jealous and Mean? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 03:23 PM PDT A friend of mine who I've had for years has bad depression. She's had depression and been on meds for years, I knew this but she never acted like it until just this past year. She doesn't care about anyone elses feelings and has been hurting a few people lately, she keeps complaining about how bad her life is and honestly it's really not bad at all. She has a new house, car, great family, I try to be a good friend to her but it's getting harder to be her friend. She hates everything. Nothing makes her happy. The other day she lashed out at me and really hurt my feelings. She told me how she feels sorry for me because I've lived too privileged of a life and is jealous of everything I have. She takes advantage of people a lot and I've done a lot for her all these years but now it's getting out of hand how much she expects me to give her. I don't have depression so I might not understand totally but it sounds like she's acting like this on purpose and making herself mad and jealous. Any advice? |
Question: Does my best friend not want to be friends with me anymore? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 03:03 PM PDT My friend and I have been close since 4th grade and we're both 23 now. I grew up in a really dysfunctional, physically abusive home and she was the only person who genuinely cared about me. In elementary school, I would get made fun of because my parents didn't ever give me a bath and stuff. She always stood up for me. She always tried to help me so I really love this girl a lot. Since we've gone off to college, we've naturally talked and seen each other a lot less. I've noticed that I'm always the one who has to reach out to her about hanging out, when I do she always seem genuinely excited, though and always meets up with me. She always tries to pay for me when we go out to eat, too and it seems like we have a great time. She recently graduated and got her own place. I live a little over an hour away and am still in school. She knows I come back home just about every weekend, though. I know she has a full time job now so I'm sure she's busy but I'm a little sad that she hasn't asked me to come over to her new house or anything. The last time we hung out was March. She frequently likes my stuff on Facebook and like I said she always seems happy to see me, but she just never reaches out to me. It makes me feel like I'm trying to hold on to someone who doesn't really see us as that good of friends anymore. Am I not getting the hint or am I just overthinking things? I know she has another friend we grew up with who she always complains about because she never bothers to see her anymore. Maybe this is why she's hesitant to ever ask me to hang out? She also happens to be gay and people have always given her a really hard time about it. She knows I couldn't care less if she's gay. Maybe she thinks we just don't have much in common because of it? My bf claims she's secretly in love with me but I think that's impossible. I'm just so confused |
Question: I live in America and I wanna send something to a buddy back in Canada? Question: I don't know what to do during the summer, now that my friends have abandoned me...? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 02:43 PM PDT I haven't had many friends for mos of my life, but the last couple of years have been different. I found some friends and we hanged out a lot; but this summer it's different. They've changed drastically, for ex. they smoke, stay up until 6 in the morning, they have been acting more "tough". We're all 15- 17 years old by the way. I've gone out with them, but not as frequently as last summer; and I feel like they invited me just because of empathy. I have no other friends. It's also very hard to find friends here since almost all the people my age are douches. I've gone to some courses for excellent students, but I've finished them and haven't managed to find an actual friend! I've been playing a lot of video-games and watching documentaries about astrophysics. I go to an international English high school (the best in Macedonia) and the friends that I've made there are from other cities, and I've been texting them, but it's just not the same... I also have many friends who are extremely antisocial and only play video games. I relate to them but most of them don't want to hang out in general. My life sucks! My parents say "go out you're missing out on so many things". I'm fully aware of this but I don't know what to do... Please help! Getting a pet is impossible. And unfortunately the only sports I like is swimming and cycling; but as I said the people I've met are assholes, or don't share my other interests... And as a 15 yr old I cannot "start a business" but I'll try the app if it's available here in Macedonia. Thanks for the suggestion! |
Question: Guys, how would you answer this question? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 02:36 PM PDT I was waiting for my girlfriend to get ready and her single mom told me she was having trouble transferring data and programs from her old computer to her new one and ask if I could help her. I said sure and got her new computer up and running. I told her mom Pam to call me if she had an problems in the future with her computer. She did call me several time and I came over to her house and fixed the problem each time. After her computer was up and running without problems Pam said "I owe you big time". "What can I do to repay you that you will really enjoy"? Pam is a world class beauty with a figure to die for (36G would be my guess). Every guy reading this knows the truthful answer but I can not say that. I would lose a girlfriend and probably get throw out of their house so I just said "You don't owe me anything. I like to help friends". Guys, what would you say if a world class beauty ask you "What can I do to repay you that you will really enjoy"? |
Question: Did I do something wrong with my daughter's tutor? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 02:31 PM PDT I got a note from the school that my 16 year old daughter Lisa was failing math and they recommended a tutor to help her. They sent a list of tutors home with Lisa and I started calling them. All of the tutors were very expensive. Being a single mom, I just could not afford them. I knew a family friend that I thought knew enough math to tutor her and I hoped he would be a lot cheaper. His name was Bill and he was a college senior. I called Bill and asked him if he would tutor Lisa and he agreed to do if for free. He was a great guy for doing this for her. He did tutor Lisa for 3 months. When Lisa got her grade card, she got an A in math. We were both VERY HAPPY and asked Bill go come over so we could tell him the GREAT NEWS. When we told him Lisa's math grade he said that is wonderful news. Lisa told Bill she had to thank him for his help so she kissed him. After she was through kissing him Bill turned to me and said "your turn". I was so excited I kissed him also. We all had a good laugh and a group hug. Bill said "if you need any more help with school subjects, just call me". Some of my friends that I told about this told me what we did was not appropriate and that Bill would get the wrong idea. My take on this is that if Bill was happy and my daughter and I were happy, there is no problem. We were just having fun. What do you think? Did we do something wrong? |

Question: Should I just ignore my friend for now on? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 01:36 PM PDT He was at my house last week and got drunk. He told me he was going to the bathroom but instead I caught him pulling out of the driveway to what I assumed to get more alcohol. I run down, get in my car and drive to the liquor store parking lot. I walk in and tell him to put down the alcohol and get in my car which was quite a challenge. He begged me to drive us home in his car because he didn't want his car to get towed so I was forced to leave my car at risk of getting towed. Next day he said he was sorry and if my car got towed he would pay the fee. 2 seconds later he said nvm idk if I would sorry. Fast forward to today. I've been ignoring some of his texts for the past couple days and he asked my why. I basically told him the weren't terribly important to me so I hold off on responding till later in the day, but I often forgot to reply at all. His response was "sorry but I think that's kind of a dick move" I was gonna bring up what he did but thought maybe I shouldn't say anything. Btw he does dick moves all the time. Like one time we found a frisbee at the park with a phone number on it and he just took it cause it looked cool. And he does when we hangout is watch tv, and get drunk. So...should I remind him of last week or just ignore him? Thanks. |
Question: Is it bad that I have a lot of friends who are younger than me? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 01:06 PM PDT Okay, so I turned 18 in June, and I have a bit of a problem; well, maybe it isn't really a problem, it's just something I've noticed. I've just graduated myself. I have four friends who graduated before me that I hang out with, and I only have three friends that actually graduated WITH me. But...a VERY vast majority of my friends are still in High school. I seem to be talking a lot more to all these people who are 14-17. I just found it weird that while going to High School I made more friends with people grades below me, and now that I graduated I still talk to most of them on a daily basis. This doesn't make me a creep, does it? Since it's only friendship and stuff I'm not a pedophile...huh? One of my best friends ever, she just turned into a sophomore starting with this upcoming school year, so she's 15. I know age isn't much of a factor when it comes to friendships, but...I don't know, I just go worried is all. I relate to the younger crowd a lot for some reason and as a senior one of my major groups was primarily freshmen and sophomores. Is there a problem with me having friends that young when I'm 18 and graduated??? |
Question: What do I do if people want to become friends with me? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 01:04 PM PDT I have decided I don't need friends or family, or even someone to date. Now some people are starting to want to be friends with me. Some people should have left things well enough alone and now I hate people for even talking to me. What would you do? Push them away or try to be friends with them from a distance? Fine I will just reject anyone who tries to think about it. I'm tired of bullshit. |
Posted: 22 Jul 2016 01:02 PM PDT I feel like I'm doing all the work with him. I say Hello, acknowledge him and make him feel important. However, he still treats me like I don't exist or I'm a bother. He acted all interested in talking to me, asked me details and evrn suggested we do things together. Then he walks around pretending he doesn't know me at all. It hurts because I want to treat him very nicely. But the way he ignores me, it makes me feel I never mattered. Help! I'm sinking into his level. I've stopped talking to him because of how he is... And it hurts. |
Question: How can I stop my 14 year old cousin from drinking? Question: What is the success rate for some getting surgery for pulmonary embolism? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 12:41 PM PDT My friend's friend went to the hospital a few days ago. He lives in Germany and my friend and I live in Australia so we weren't there when it happened. I don't know the full details either since he isn't my friend. Anyway, he had to call the ambulance while at home and he's been at the hospital for a few days, and he's been diagnosed with pulmonary embolism. My friend updated me on the situation, and he is getting surgery. Now this website I went on said the success rate was really low (but all the data wasn't organised properly so I may have read it wrong). I just want to know what the success rate for the surgery would be, since I am tremendously worried for my friend; they are very very close friends, and I recently lost a friend. He is 20, what are the chances the surgery will succeed? No sugar coating please. Thanks. |

Question: Why does this girl want me to lie about my age? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 12:24 PM PDT Okay so... I'm a 19 year old guy. And there's this 17 year old girl whom I met off the internet. Since, a week ago. We talked, became friends & now want to hangout. But she told me to tell her family members including her mother that I'm actually 18 & not 19. Since apparently they'd have a problem if I was actually 19. I mean i don't know. It's just a 2 year difference. It's not like we're even dating. Even then... I already have a girlfriend whom is 17! (Though she turns 18 in like 3 weeks.) So, I'm not understanding this. I was against lying about my age by 1 year since I cannot see a friendship with a 2 year age difference inappropriate in any way, shape or form. She was pressuring me telling me to please simply tell her family that I'm 18. I'm an honest guy & dislike having to lie. Especially over something I feel that's petty. She couldn't even really explain WHY I have to do this. |
Question: My best friend turns into a passive-aggressive nightmare!? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 12:18 PM PDT I have this friend who I love, but she's becoming very difficult to deal with. Every so often she'll just go into these moods where she just stops communicating, avoids plans and acts passive-aggressively. She'll say she's busy but then I'll see her going out with other people. All the while I'm being really nice to her, but the nicer I am the colder she becomes. She'll post a lot of negative quotes on Facebook that seem like they're directed at someone. Eventually I'll have no choice but to say something to her (just something like "hey I feel like you've got something against me") and then she'll totally flip out and block my number completely. Then she'll start telling everyone how I was being too clingy and manipulative and she had a lucky escape. Weeks later, she'll calm down and return back to being a very nice person as if the last few months didn't happen. I just don't get it. I've always been very nice to her but she pushes me until I finally snap and then she acts like I'm the one who's the bad friend. Do you know why some people are like this? What is she getting out of acting this way? |
Question: I don't talk to my school friends out of school. Is that bad? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 12:18 PM PDT I'm a month into my summer and I just realized I don't talk to a single one of my school friends. Im socially awkward so that might be a good reasoning for it. I don't have anyone's Kik, number, or even snapchat that goes to my school. Is this bad or not? I don't really mind it's just I wanna know other people's opinions |
Question: What do I do when someone calls me the C word and bully s me on text? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 12:17 PM PDT Hey people I m 12 years old and there s this guy who s always saying rude things to me on text. We used to be good friends now he just hates me completely. Just the other day him and his buddies ganged up on me on text and started saying really rude nasty stuff then called me a "****** dumb ***** loving ****". What do I do? |
Question: My friend is copying me because she's afraid I'll end our friendship? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 12:16 PM PDT Let me explain. My friend has been copying me a lot as of lately. I'm a very apathetic person, and tend to not really care about a lot of things or be very sympathetic, unless it's someone I really care about. I'm also an ENTJ female, so I'm not very emotional. My friend is a INFP female. So we're kind of opposites, and in general sympathetic and caring. So I eat her down and commented on how she's been copying me and she said she's scared that I'm going to end our friendship? Apparently she thinks I find her annoying and too sympathetic and nice, which I don't think at all. How can I help her realize that this isn't even a problem? |
Question: Knowing someone well vs. very well? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 12:15 PM PDT What do you think the difference is between just knowing someone, knowing them well, and knowing them very well? |
Question: My only friend is toxic? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 12:08 PM PDT Basically, I was very unpopular in school last year. See, I came into school in the middle of the year and everyone already hada friend group except for this one guy, let's call him Jack. At first, Jack seemed cool, and he had the same interests as me, so I started hanging out with me. When, I made another friend, let's call him Josh. Jack was mad I had another friend, and he started bullying me, and he spread a primer about himself, then said I spread it. Because of this, I'm very unpopular at my school, and I have to keep hanging out with Jack, because no one else likes me. Jack bullies me constantly. I've tried telling the teacher, but the teachers all really like him (he gets really good grades) so they do nothing. How can I find another friend? Moving isn't an option. Thanks. |
Posted: 22 Jul 2016 12:08 PM PDT So I texted my "best friend" because we used to be so close and she doesn't answer my texts until hours later or even the next day. My other best friend and I never had a fight but she decided to hang out with the other best friend because she drinks and smokes and hangs out with a lot of boys and does things with them. I don't do that, that's their life they can do whatever they want. So I was hurt I would text them and say "hey how you doing?" I would get "fine" I asked them about Hanging out" have to see what my schedules like" meanwhile they're both together almost everyday. I was hurt a lot. So just the other day my other best friend texted me I'm so sorry I've been such a shitty friend, you didn't do anything. But I texted the other one saying hey is everything ok? I noticed we haven't been talking like we used to always and we haven't hung out. She's like "things are just crazy" like um ok? How do I just move on? I've just been there for her through everything and she never once reciprocated. |

Question: Who are my real friends? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 11:57 AM PDT Im a 13 year old guy. So here's what's up. On alternating occasions, I seem to either be a dork or popular. For example, the summer before 6th grade, I joined a summer basketball league, and my team ended up winning, so that have a me a lot of status. I was popular the whole year, but fhen, last summer, before seventh grade, I decided that I wasnt going to do basketball again. So, the popular guys ditched me, and I ended up changing out with the dorks. They bullied me the whole year. Now, I joined basketball again, but I'm not sure whether I'll be popular or a dork this year. What should i do? |

Posted: 22 Jul 2016 11:30 AM PDT My friend and I have been having trouble, and we both agreed to take some time apart. My Poppy died on Tuesday, and I ve posted about it on Facebook and Instagram and stuff like that. Question: I think my friend is obsessed with me... what do I do? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 10:30 AM PDT Three years ago, I met a girl. She was really socially awkward, and I felt bad, so I became her friend. We were best friends with two other girls. It was fun, and we made tons of memories. She left the school the next year to be homeschooled, and the only person she stayed in contact with was me. I was the only person she talked to. She began calling a lot, texting me a lot, asking to hang out every weekend. The following year, I went to homeschooling, which gave me more time on my hands. She started texting me every morning asking to hang out that day. If I couldn't, then she would be like "it's ok" and then text me that night asking if I could hang out tomorrow. During the day, she would snapchat me 24/7 and text me. She would respond in less than 30 seconds to all of them. Then FaceTime me at night time. She stills does that whole routine to this day. Last winter, she started to buy the same clothing as I did. Every holiday, she texts me to see what I'm doing. She always wants to go to dinner (date, maybe?) at fancy restaurants, and one time this old lady thought we were on a date because we shared a dish. She only ever wants to hang out with me, and does not talk to anyone else. I have thought about the fact that she might like me, and I'm fine if she likes me, but I don't like her like that. She is starting to get super annoying, and she stalks my social media all the time, commenting "hot" and "gorgeous" with the heart eyes emoji. I don't know what to do. Please help! Also, whenever I talk about my other friends, she gets super defensive, and says "you're my best friend. i'm so glad I have a best friend like you" and I tell her "you're one of my best friends, I have a lot of best friends" and she gets mad that she's not my number one best friend. |
Question: My friend left his booze at my house and I drank the rest of it earlier, will he be mad? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 10:24 AM PDT |
Question: How to be a better best friend? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 10:23 AM PDT We've known each other for five years now, and it's take a great deal of work to get our friendship as tight as it is now. I don't say this because we're forcing the friendship or anything, but because she has depression and she finds it extremely hard to trust or open up to others. She had one other best friend in her life before I came along, but that friend decided that their interests had changed and just up and decided she didn't want to be friends anymore; she just flat out stopped talking to her and I really think it hit her hard and thus our friendship has been hard to get off the ground over the years. I've struggled with depression in the past too, so I always make sure to be extra supportive of my best friend and I make sure I'm always there to listen if she needs someone to talk to. When she's in a good mood and having a good day, she's the absolute best person to hang out with and talk to. The problem is that those days are becoming rarer and rarer and I always feel like my efforts go to waste. I feel like there's something more I could be doing for her. And since I've dealt with depression in the past and I know what it feels like I try to give her space when she needs it and support when she needs it, but oftentimes, as amazing of a friend as she is, I feel like it's a very one-sided friendship. I'm always there for her, but she rarely is there to listen to my troubles. Help? |

Question: Is he trying to make me pity him? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 10:12 AM PDT I have this friend that I like to play online games with a lot. Though every now and then I play with a different friend and usually I have to tell him sorry about that I know for a fact I'm his only friend, he says he has 2 others, but I know that they're just rocks he talks to Whenever I apologize in person or on call he usually just says "No problem, I'm used to being lonely." |
Question: One of my friends dared me to do something illegal. I said no. Am I a coward? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 10:11 AM PDT Okay so my friend called me earlier and she told me an hour ago that she wanna get back at her ex boyfriend for treating her like **** so tonight she wants me and our friends to chat and get back at her ex boyfriend and she wants one of us to pretend to be the police and make a fake report about something. She'll explain later but she's taking this too far and I'm not going to jail. I told her no and she was like, "Oh come on. We're calling in a private number...HELLO?! They will never find out it was us and they don't know where we live. Dont be such a baby! Have some fun!" You call that HAVING FUN? More like ending up in prison. I still told her no and she called me a coward. My other friends dont want nothing to do with her and suggested me to drop her as a friend. Should I end the friendship with her? I've known her for 10 years. I'm trying to live my life and I'm not going to prison. She can do what she wants I dont care. She prank called him twice yesterday pretending to be the police. I told her to stop talking to her ex boyfriend and it isn't worth it and stop calling him with a private number. She was like, "Well he kept calling my mom and me with a private number. Pay back is a *****." Whatever. Can the police track down private numbers and should we call the police on her? |
Posted: 22 Jul 2016 09:59 AM PDT Hey everyone, I need some advice. I have a lot of friends at school, I talk to everyone popular or not and everyone likes me I make everyone laugh etc. I have about 5 or 6 really good friends that have my back. I would be out with my friends all the time after school, I am a junior starting october. I loved it and still have fun with them. I recently visited my cousin in another state, he is 18 has a car, and is a really cool guy. I don't know why but I cant get this off my mind. He is just really cool in my opinion. But not the best role model he goes to partys, smokes hookah, vapes, and cigs etc. His twitter account has so many friends and is friends with so many people and hangs out with so many people. I really want this, I know I sound selfish right now because some kids actually have a hard time talking to people and making friends. His mom lets him do anything and go anywhere. I dont know what is happening to my mind, I just really want to be like him, It is almost like I am jealous or something. Please give me some advice, I don't mean to sound selfish or anything, but I just feel like I want him to see me like how I see him. Maybe I am just obsessed with the freedom he has and am jealous of that, I am going to get a car in 5 or so months, but doubt I will be as free as him. |
Question: Is it worth the risk to make new female friends in my new town? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 09:05 AM PDT My husband and I moved a year ago. Since then he has developed a semi large social circle. Which he includes me in when ever I want to hang out. However, I have not made any close femal friends. There are some women in my husband's new circle but I purposely keep interactions to an accantance status. My husband keeps urging me to build closer relationships. I have friends from my home town I'm still in contact with. My fear is that in a new area I have no context of back ground knowledge of anyone and bringing a new women too close to me could be a lot of drama. |
Question: Too many baby shower hosts? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 08:56 AM PDT I offered to throw a baby shower by myself for a friend, which she gladly accepted. Another of her friends asked to help, and while I had already started a lot of the planning process, I graciously accepted her offer to help with both the financial costs and additional planning. However, now an additional two friends want to co-host and plan as well. I already have a very clear vision of what I would like to do for invitations, décor, food, etc. I appreciate the offer for extra help, because it will make my job a lot easier when it comes to preparing everything, putting together invites, but I don't want "planning" input because I feel 4 co-hosts is too many irons in the fire. Thoughts, or ideas on how to politely decline the offer to co-host, but still have them help if they would like? |
Posted: 22 Jul 2016 08:54 AM PDT In my friend group, I told a girl no to her asking me for a favor. "She wanted me to drive her to a party I wasn't invited to." She got upset and told mean things about me to our friend group. Friend group distanced themselves from me. Person in friend group told my husband "if you ever want to talk about the drama she has caused, I'm here to listen." Husband rebuked him and no longer associates with him. Would you trust this person again? |

Posted: 22 Jul 2016 08:49 AM PDT I lost a close instructor of mine recently, lately I got in contact with his sister and we've talked a lot and have grieved together. We've bonded through the loss of him. I want to send her a jar of 101 notes, each holds a hand written quote I specially picked out. The quotes are filled of positive words, she can pick 1 or 2 daily incase her day isn't well. Do you think she'll like it? Or how would you feel receiving it? |
Question: My friend is way too clingy? Posted: 22 Jul 2016 08:45 AM PDT So I've been friends with her for years but over the past few months we've bee getting much closer. We're both 16. She's been having a lot of family troubles, in a nutshell her sister was causing a lot of problems with the family but she's now out of the house. My mom has been helping her mom with everything involving the sister (I.e. her mom is very dependent on us) Now that the sister is out of the house I thought that they would try and live their lives like normal again but I was wrong. It's gotten to the point where the whole family shows up to the house unannounced and just walks in. I've been reading a lot online and that's one of the tell-tale signs of a "clingy" friend. They always assume they're included in our plans, and sometimes we just want our space. My friend in particular wants to be with me all day every single day. I've tried to hold it in but it's just too much. I've mentioned it to my mom, and she agrees with me that it's getting out of hand. I honesty think I should make an appointment with a therapist and talk some of this through. Any advice? |
