Especially if they are feeling down, I tell them they are pretty, hot, smart, funny, nice, etc. even when I don't think they are. Also, I'm the type to be very humble. I never brag about anything and usually make jokes about myself because I like to make people laugh. The problem is that I've noticed my friends have start to becoming very stuck up. My question is whether my friends have always been secretly stuck up and just feel more comfortable being vocal about it around me, or if I made them stuck up. Anyway to change this? Please help, thanks. Sorry, I also meant to add that I also compliment them a lot. Every time we meet up, I try and compliment them on at lease one thing to make their day. |

I'm 23 years old, never went to college, I never had a job before (I've had applications in all over town since 2012), 4 years later, still no job! Never heard back from anyone! I don't even have any friends! Not a single person to hang out with other than my parents! I had friends in school, but all of them (literally ALL OF THEM moved away and we've lost contact). Because of this, you can say I'm anti-social. I literally have no reason to live, but I'm not about to give up! I try to be hopeful, but honestly, will my life ever get any better? I've tried my best on everything, and I just don't know what else to do? Believe me, I would LOVE to move out of state for more opportunities, but it's not that simple. I don't have enough money to support myself. My parents don't want to move, and I WILL NOT live with a stranger for a roommate because who do you trust nowadays? |

I am secretive and sometimes hide my emotions and pretend I care when I don't care. I hate small talk and my friendships don't last that long. I like to be alone and go out for long walks. I have few friends but I don't really care for them. They are just people to hang out with when I get bored. My sister at the time was living with me and my parents (she does drugs and steals, breaking the law, etc.) But she still was staying at the house, I moved to Ohio for a couple of months to get away from it because of some depression I was going through about what my sister was putting us through. There was constant fighting at the house, my sister constantly threatening to kill herself, and actually attempting to do so. But because I moved to Ohio I didn't have the money to buy a plane ticket to go to my best friend's wedding. At the time it was in flag, az. Now I still feel regret to this day about the whole event... But if I didn't move to Ohio I would have mostly committed suicide yes, it was a very bad and difficult time. But him and his wife still treats me as a best friend of thiers but I feel like a **** terrible friend for letting things my sister does get in the way of a very important moment in his life. By the way, nother dealing with depression anymore but same **** is going on with my sister and we've tried everything so don't ask. Rehab, hospital, mental institution, halfway house, etc... nothing works on her she's too extreme. If anyone can answer this is appreciate it. I guess my real question is, am I lucky to have a awesome friend or am I right and do not deserve his friendship because he is way better and nicer then me? |

I do volunteering in my spare time, and I also tutor. Perhaps it's because of my high value of education? I do occasionally catch myself favoring people I consider academic equals. I am an ABC (American born Chinese) living in an area with a high black population. It's true that I have a very small amount of black friends, but I am not racist in any way. Currently, I am on lexapro due to my depression and anxiety. Could that have affected my personality? I am a large extrovert, and I try to be helpful and nice. I'm 23 and I'm still having problems making friends with other females, which is so unfair. First off, both genders were mean bullies towards me in 5th-11th grade. Females didn't want to be friends with me for being weird and for not always having my hair on point (I went to African-American schools growing up). In college and above, it's easy to have casual conversations with males, but when it comes to some females, I feel like I'm talking to a brick wall and that I am forcing them to speak with me because they don't seem interested in me as a friend or associate. Posted: 26 Jul 2016 12:03 PM PDT My roomate and I were hanging out with her friends and out of nowhere she started telling them how I always snore in my sleep. She kept on dragging this out so finally I said "well at least I don't fart in my sleep" she turned red and people laughed. The room was very tense after this. We haven't really talked after this happened. I don't like being the butt of a joke especially when I was only in that environment to be the DD. I didn't know any of those people and too have them laughing at the fact that I snore/talk in my sleep was a little too much. |

We talked at least once a week but it seemed to become less and less frequent after I got married. Once a week turned into once every six weeks, then once every six months. Out of nowhere yesterday I noticed she deleted me on Facebook. I know it sounds childish and silly but I m so hurt. I emailed her and asked her if I upset her or offended her in any way and she said "no you didn t. But I don t agree with the way you re living your life. You cheated on your husband with his friend while you were dating and you never told him. Then you tout on social media about how much you love him. I can t be friends with someone who is so two faced. Take care" I did NOT cheat on my husband while we were dating. He took me away for a weekend (we were just friends at this point) and I slept with his friend. Why is that HER business? Is that worth ending a friendship over? |

She tries to be better than me, for example I made a story. I am so happy about 300 people reading it. Then she goes, yeah I made a story too, it has 14000 reads and wont stop talking about this ''story''. I say that mine has been out for only 2 months and she says that ''Oh, mine has been out for maybe like 2 weeks.'' It gets super annoying. She even does this in bad things. Here's a conversation we had: Me: I need to get therapy because of my needle phobia.. Her: Oh, I'm afraid of needles too. (she has never even mentioned this before) Me: I've seen you get shots, you dont even react to them? Her: I just hide it really well. Me: How did you get it? I got it when this doctor forced me to get it by holding my hand really tight and just forcing me to take it. Her: I had a doctor force me to take over 30 shots in an hour. Me: Well I was 5 years old.. Her: Oh yeah, I was like 5-6 years old. Stuff like this happens in EVERY conversation! It gets really frustrating and annoying of her trying to be better than me all the time! Should I just tell her we're not friends anymore? |
| Question: Does my child sound immature for her age? Posted: 26 Jul 2016 11:30 AM PDT I am getting worried because she is starting to endanger herself. I have tried practicing crossing the street as she will be in high school next year and has to walk to school. She just stares at the ground and sings not looking up. I have to tell her "look up, look at this car coming, do you think we can cross?" It's always "I don't know". She is obsessed with 3 stuffed animals which seems normal, however, without them she cries for hours. She talks to them and will not leave the house without tucking them in every time we leave. Even for 5 minutes. If I tell her we are in a hurry, she will make me wait to kiss and tuck them all in slowly. She makes her dad come over and get them if she doesn't have them which is an hour drive. When she gets TV time, she picks Curious George and Sesame Street. She is almost 12. She begs me to shower her and if I don't brush her hair it is in knots. I have shown her with her own hair how to brush and comb it. I don't know what else to do. She just says 'I dont care" and walks out the door. Her best friend is only 10 and I can tell it's going to be sad for her next year in high school. Should I just let her be? She was always "off" and sensitive. She wouldn't be in public school if she were mentally "retarded". |

This causes my family and friends bot to trust me with something fragile and valuable. I'm very known for dropping a ot of things. I've cracked my oldphone more than 5 times. I have no idea how to improve and stop being so clumsy. A week a ago my baby nephew was born. The other day I held him but everyone was so paranoid that I was going to drop him, but I was sitting down. Everyone is always so paranoid that I'll drop something or trip over something. If anyone can give advice on how to stop being so clumsy and to get my family and friend's trust again, I would appreciate it. |

Posted: 26 Jul 2016 11:00 AM PDT I'm 29 and I met this older man online in 2014 he's 42 he and I met in person for the first time last year. He and I were intimate then. We both live in different states he lives in California and I live in Ohio last week I went back to see him. He and I were intimate again and we had fun together he took me McDonald's for breakfast and then to this nice park he wanted to buy me pizza but I told him I didn't want him to. Also he wanted to take me to the beach but it was way too hot outside. Then we went back to my hotel and we had Chinese food he spent the night with me for a couple of nights. He and I aren't in a long distance relationship I do enjoy going to see him. He said that he didn't want to be in a serious relationship and neither do I. I told him that I enjoyed spending time with him and he said he did too. And that I wanted to come back in December and he said ok. He asked me how much was I paying to take Uber to the airport I believe he wanted to drive me but I told him I didn't have to pay much. He and I are not in a long distance relationship. When I told him thanks for meeting me he said it was his pleasure. He said that he enjoyed it too and thanked me for not overwhelming him. At one point he said he didn't have anything to offer me. But I told him that I wasn't in a position to be in a serious relationship right now either. |

When we went out with my boyfriend and his friend, she didn't pay for her drink or her dinner. His friend sent him money online right away without being asked, but it seemed like she was trying to dodge the bill. Although she did ask me if she should split the bill and I said ok. When she asked my boyfriend, he said no it's fine. She said she felt bad but she could of just put her card on the table. She is not working right now so she's having a hard time paying back $75 to a mutual friend too. (We're in college). That night I estimated she owed around $60. I sent her a text the next day saying to please split the bill and pay for her own next time. She hasn't talked to me. Did I just ruin it? Or was it right to confront her for being a mooch. She replied to the text saying she assumed he was paying. And that she has no problems with splitting the bill. Even though again, she could of just put her card on the table when our other friend paid for themselve already. |

Posted: 26 Jul 2016 10:44 AM PDT I went to my high school class reunion and this beautiful woman came up to me and hugged me and said I never got to properly thank you for what you did for me in high school. I did not remember who she was and what I had did for her. She told me I had talked her into going to college instead of getting married soon after she got out of high school. She said if she had not gone to college she would not been able to have the wonderful career she has had. She ask me if I would join her and her husband for dinner so she could express her thanks. At dinner her husband said he also wanted to thank me for convincing her to go to college. If she had not gone to college he would not have met her and they would not have got married. She then said "You didn't recognize me did you". Slightly embarrassed I told her I didn't recognize her when I first saw her. She said that is understandable. I had a face lift and a boob job. I was at a loss for words. Ladies, what should I have said? I couldn't say nice boob job with her husband setting there next to her. Gals (and husbands), please give me some advice on how I should have responded? THANK YOU. |
