People say ur height depend on ur parent or ur grandparents height. Well I'm 5'9 but none of the family members I know are taller than 5'4. My mom 5'1 and my dad 5'3 . How is this possible . I never know anyone in my family member or my relative that taller than 5'4 other than my brother he 5'6

Okay so i really don't mean to come off as ungrateful, but i'm curious as to what people think. So i'm 16 and I got my license recently. All I do is do things for my parents like go to the store to get them their groceries, pick and drop my brother off, get dinner, etc. I don't think it's fair that I have to pay for the gas when I'm doing things they ask me to. It's not like i'm going to see friends or just driving around for fun..then I would totally understand why I should pay. What do you think??

Alright, so I'm mixed races, which I know can leave me looking far different from my parents. However, my siblings look similar to each other while I look nothing like them or either of my parents. My mother had blue eyes, my father had brown. The rest of my mother's family has brown eyes except for her grandmother, and my father's family had all brown eyes. I have green eyes, which is literally not possible since I can trace it back so far to where I know no one has had green eyes in either family. Second, I look possibly half- Far Eastern, perhaps Asian. My eyes are hooded over a bit and my skin tone matches. Also, my mother was supposed to be sick at the time she gave birth to me and I wasn't in good health according to doctors. And then, somehow, I magically got better. It makes no sense to me... I would do a DNA test but there's just one problem. Both of my parents are dead. I honestly don't know what to do but I just feel like there is something that I don't know.

He is an alcoholic and he says I am the reason my mother left him because I am a disappointment unlike my brothers. I am indeed the only one who ever complained about him being drunk and I am the only daughter. He says I am the fool that caused this. As a result I only see him when others are there. I don't mind the drinking as I only complained about it when my friends were over and made comments. Yet they are divorcing and it will forever be remembered as my fault. I want to kill myself but I can't because it would hurt my mother too much. I think my brothers might resent me for this also. My dad s side of the family used some sort of craft in order to "protect" those around them. The issue is they live in a different country, so my dad is sending pictures of his family. Since we don t visit them. My mom is worried that they would use it in order to "protect" us. The problem is they perform a "spell" on one of their sons. That son (my uncle) hallucinates, he gets weird episodes of him being normal and totally crazy. He says that theirs a witch fallowing him and whatnot. The problem is he was seen by many doctors in different countries. And they all say the same thing. That he s totally fine. It doesn t explain why he acts the way he does. It was confirmed that his parents did some sort of "ritual " on him when he was younger.

So today, I was helping remodel my house, and once I was done i went on the computer to relax. I Started to practice my Spanish, and my mother tried to hug me. ( I am not a very huggy person, she knows that.) so then she went on a rant about how she provides for the household, and every time she buys something for herself I take it. ( My dad is the only one who works.) Then she proceeds to say how i only care about myself and nothing matters to me unless it affects me in anyway. Yes, I know that I shouldn't refuse a hug, but this sort of thing happens to me very day. I am not sure how to tell her about this, because every time i tell her my problems, she takes it as a opportunity to belittle me. For example, I told my mom about how one of my teachers lowered my grade because he was mad at me. So instead of giving me advice, she tells me that if SHE was a teacher, She would be mad about a student not turning in his work after getting chances to make it up. ( this happened a few weeks prior, and the teacher forgot to put in a grade.). So she just goes off at me about this, for basically no reason. This is the sort of thing that happens. I dont know what to do. if someone could give an example of a situation they had like this, and how the resolved it that would be a big help. Thanks.

We went on a family wedding and my mom was telling me what to wear and not to wear. I was wearing jeans to a shopping place and I have a big butt so my mom kept telling me to change my outfit since the outfit is revealing. I literally had to change it. After we were stuck in airport for a whole day and flight got delayed on the way, I'm tired and did not had sleep last night because we were in her best friend house that had so many guests from wedding there. No sleep, flight delayed 15!hours waiting in airport and mom tells me that I need to change her bed after we go home since she needs to sleep. How about she change her own bed? So basically I'm the daughter of an affair, which means my father's wife was not to know I was born, and I was never supposed to meet him. He knows I exist (he still sends money for me) but has never actually seen me. I'm 14 now, and I just feel like I really want to meet him in person, but I don't know how to do so. I know his first and last name, but that's basically it, my mother won't give me much more information. We live in Canada, and I haven't seen too many search engines here that would help me find him (if such a thing even exists). I know he used to work at this car place here in my city, but I'm not sure if he does anymore. Apparently I have 7 brothers, but I've never seen any of them. My aunt has pictures of my father, but will not give them to me. I grew up with my family trash talking him, making fun of his height and his hair, saying he looked like Joe Dirt (David Spade), so they won't be much help in my search of him. I most likely won't be able to go to the car shop he worked at, because my mom won't take me there, and I hardly know where it is. So is there any way I could find him? Every since we left, my older brother mysteriously got killed by running off the road into a tree (no other cars were involved) and now my second oldest brother is in critical condition at the hospital and no one knows why. This has happened within 6 months. My mom texts and leaves strange messages about how we should come back to her and bad things will happen if we dont. It just cant be coincidence, it just cant be. Can witchcraft really be the reason?? I'm so scared. My dad says its not but he's been so out of it with all the bad stuff that happens I cant even talk to him anymore . Its like he's shut down.

My mother-In-law recently added my husbands ex wife on Facebook. Me and my husband has been married for 3 years. He has a 8 year old daughter with his ex. Is this not just disrespectful? She commented and likes pictures that I have tagged my MIL in of her daughter and my daughter. My husband is not friends with her family on facebook. Also when my husband has his daughter she will call his parents to find out stuff and tell them stuff about his daughter and not my husband (the father of the child!!!). His Sister In Law is also friends with her on facebook... So I untagged all of them from my pictures so she couldn't see the pictures. My husband only has his daughter for 9 weeks in the summer because his ex decided to move half way across the country to live with her boyfriend. When he calls to talk to his daughter when she is with her mom, her mom will not answer half the time but when his daughter is here his ex will call his daughter only when his MIL has her. ITS IS CRAZY.

She is the oldest and we have lived in Dallas Texas where I am from her whole life. My husband is british but his family is from London so she doesnt even have her cousins close. She is threatning to run asway and says she is not going. My husband is already in England taking care of everything to get us over there. My daughter is 14 years old, going on 15. I have started noticing that her personality is very different from how it used to be. When she was 9 or 10, she used to love eating; she once even said that she loves food more than me, her dad, but of course she was joking. Now, she's saying that I shouldn't have let her eat so much when she was little because she's "fat and ugly." She has a closet full of shirts, jackets, and jeans, that she has never worn before, yet she doesn't want to wear them, stating that "her stomach can be seen." For the last 5 or 6 months already, she has been eating only about 2 times a day on weekends. Each of which are about 8 hours apart. When she gets home from school, she eats a little granola bar, and that's it. I understand that she's insecure about her body, but I don't want her to be starving or not getting enough nutrients. She's also been styling her hair more, saying that she wants to look like a "k-pop star" when she gets older. She's completely obsessed with these Asian girls, cute pop stars as she describes them. Sure, I don't want her to stay out late at night, party, start drinking and doing drugs, but still, I want her to be more confident in herself and stop worrying about her body. My wife has tried talking to her, but it has not seem to work. She's an only child, so maybe she's feeling lonely and need someone her age to talk to?

I want to go because my cousin had lost her dad over the independence day weekend in a tragic drowning incident. I didn't know him well but she and I grew up together though we are pretty distant now. Anyways, since his passing, literally right after, there has been conflict between his girlfriend and my family. Apparently the police has been involved, they will be going to court since he didn't leave a will behind, and apparently there have been fights all in the course of two weeks. It's so much drama and tension that I don't care to go anymore because of this. On top of it all is my family is throwing race in this like it matters, saying that she played apart in his death. An accidental drowning and now they are blaming her family for it. And no, she wasnt there, but her brothers are friends of his. Have very strict middle eastern parents who still believe a woman's role is to stay in the home and clean until he has a husband.I'm 16 yet they do not let me go out with any friends other than a Muslim one they approve of. Last week my gf and I were arguing. We really love each other. She already has. 24month daughter which we talked about and I accept as my daughter. When I'm mad I say stupid ****. I m 19.I moved back home for the summer. I brought home three candles my boyfriend bought for me. My mom burns candles all the time, and I have never had candles before. My boyfriend caught on that I wanted some candles, let me pick out some scents at the store, and bought them for me. He spent a good $30 on them. I expressed my excitement to my parents about them the night I got them. My dad turned up his nose and mentioned "oh, I don t really want you burning candles." I was like "I ll be super careful, my boyfriend bought them for me, and they re special to me." I had burned them a bit for the past couple of weeks. I went on vacation, came back, and the candles are gone. I m seething because I can t find them ANYWHERE. I m assuming he took them, and without telling me anything, threw them away. He has done this before. I got some goodies (candy, letters, etc.) from girls I counsel at summer camp, and I left them in my room. When I got home, they were just gone. My dad said he threw it all out due to it possibly attracting ants (none of the bags of candy were even opened). I m pissed. I m pissed that he goes into my room and steals my stuff and throws it out. Then he just says "my house, my rules." I understand that, but he completely does not warn me before throwing away my expensive, personal things that make me happy. I don t even know how to approach him about this. my mom does everything she can to keep me inside the house, it's not like I'm a bad daughter. I just want to be able to go to a friends house or just on a walk but she won't let me. She makes me stay at home all day doing chores. So I m going to Universal this week and I know this is about to happen: as soon as we get there they will want to go home. they do this all the time it s not just theme parks. The time we do spend somewhere they complain about it being too hot or they are hungry or something. I always bring snacks in my bag as well as water when they get hot but they are always complaining the whole entire time. It s hard to have a good time when they are always complaining and they always want to leave. I want to know and I will give you two examples. Three weeks ago, we all argued about where to eat. I wanted to eat somewhere else, and my daughter wanted to eat at this chicken place. My family is trying to control my whole life. My brother manipulated me into choosing accounting as a career, when I have been a science student my whole life. I'm in college studying something I don't like. Literally just wasting 3 years of my life. I'm too afraid to say that I want to drop out, because my brother is paying my college fees. And he has already paid a lot for it. My other brother keeps telling me not to smoke or use drugs over and over again. I hang out with good people, not drug addicts or something. He has been giving me the same lecture since I was soo young and I'm getting so sick of it. Every time I go outside, my mother thinks that I'm doing something bad. I'm a young adult man that's 23 and single and still lives at home with the parents and I want to know how to become more stronger and more tougher so when I have a family and move Out on my own so I can protect them/me and not be scared if I have to fight or go threw hard times the world throws at us like I always want to act like a gangster or something becuse I know they are tough and don't give a care and I though maybe I could be like that so I'm not so nice and get pushed around or my feelings hurt easy so what things do I need to do so I can practice alone ?

I want to watch the Olympic ceremony with my aging mother and this could very well be the last time for us (it was a family event for us growing up). I am scheduled to work a hospital shift that day. My schedule already sucks and I am considering changing careers soon. I work nights and get every other weekend split so I hardly have a life. I am starting to hate my work/life balance. They don't seem to want to give me the day off. My option is calling in sick, leaving the workplace short handed that night, and probably making my supervisors really mad or even losing that job. OR I could work and just not spend the day with my mom. Would you take the day off to be with your mom? I kind of know what I'm thinking but want to see what others say.

I live with my brother and sister in law. I've lived with them for 4 years. So last night I was had a nightmare and couldn't sleep. So I was at my computer doing some stuff and my sister in law came to check on me. I told her I couldn't sleep. She said i could watch TV as long as I laid in bed. So she walked over to the covers and pulled them back to let me get in. I did and she sat beside me on the bed(on top of the covers) and put on the hangover. I think she sat with me until I fell asleep.

Well my mom is trying to get a divorce from my stepdad.. We lived at his house for 5 years. She convince me we should move out.. It's hardly a month since we left & there has not been one time we haven't fought. I am miserable & stressed out. I'm 20 & I feel the weight of the world is on my shoulders. She expects me to pretty much babysit her and stay beside her all day. Now obviously I did for first 2 weeks but I went swimming in my complex pool & I came back to her cussing me out and nonstop yelling Bc I was there an hour, it's it just a little example of house crazy she is. We split all the bills. I'm just not happy. I want out. Problem is we have a year lease. I wanna leave as soon as possible but if I say that to her she is gonna threaten to kill or harm herself & say she's out on streets. She is trying to be back with my stepdad & when I express concern for her wellbeing I get attack that I don't support her. I need advice. I can live like this. I hate my mom! I'm 15 and my mom nags alot. She tells me to clean my room when me and my sister (8 years old) shares our room. She talks (negatively) about me (her and my stepdad) and my father was supposed to take me and my brother to Georgia but never showed up so I'm extremely bitter (he took his other children and his girlfriend's children (is pregnant with baby girl, he hopes it's a girl) *He already has a daughter, ME* I'm insecure and gets bullied. Last night I had almost a whole bottle of wine and a couple shots of tequila. I was at my friends apartment with my bf when I was drinking. Bf was also drunk, and started making jabs at my appearance (booze turns him into a jerk) "get a boobjob your breasts are saggy", "your butt is the size of Texas" "you need to start doing Pilates because youre starting to get a stomach" I took a bowl of veggie dip and dumped it over his head. I broke down crying again and shouted , "STOP TRYING TO MAKE ME FATTER THAN I ALREADY AM" I undressed myself until I stood completely naked in front of him, grabbed my stomach and said "Do you not see how fat and disgusting I look? No wonder my bf wont have sex with me anymore. And look at how gross and droopy my breasts look? If you dont lend me $7000 for a breast augmentation Im never going to speak to you again " Dad just shook his head and told me to go to bed, then walked away I cant believe i did that and now I can't face him. I've been dating my bf for a little over a month. He was seeing a woman when we first met that just so happen to also be sleeping with my male best friend. I told him about this and he said he was done with her. However, he said that they have alot of mutual friends and he still likes her as a friend. My male best friend still likes her too but he said hasn't been spending anymore time with her. However, she still calls and texts them both daily and they are both very responsive to her. My bf is having a public birthday party next week that was put on fb by his friend that he's sharing the party with. I know she will be there. Long story short: I wasted a little less than a month in my studies due to e fact that I thought I had another month on the edge to do the science subjects, etc. He then punished me via removing all my happiness.. He removed my time from playing games. He removed my time from riding on my bike.. He also removed my time from using the sand-bag to workout. He has taken all the happiness away from me. I apologized and I got better in studies (he knows that I got better) yet he still doesn t give me my sources of happiness back.. How do I handle this? Thanks for the help..

I recently posted another question about him dumping me by a highway when I was 4 but didn't have enough room to tell this one. I'm guessing I was around 5-6 years old my brother was around 12 or 13. One day I was in my grandmas room playing with a snow globe she lets me play with. My grandma was at work and so was my mom. Here comes my brother walking in and fighting me over it and we pulled back and forth and I was yelling give it back. I lost grip on it and he let go and it fell on the floor and busted open. Glass was everywhere and so was water and glitter. My brother went and told my grandpa and said I broke it and it was all my fault and my grandpa has always loved him more than he'll ever love me. Not one photo is he smiling with me in it but he smiled in my brothers. He yelled and me and I cried again and he told me to go apologize to my brother and get a plastic bag to pick the glass up. my brother laughed at me. I went back to the room and was picking up the glass with my bare hands and crying. Suddenly my mom comes through the front door cause she got off work and she ran into the room and picked me up and yelled at my grandpa saying,"SHE SHOULDNT BE PICKING THIS GLASS UP, YOU SHOULD BE! ILL BE HAVING A WORD WITH MOM WHEN SHE GETS HOME!" And etc. I stuck my tongue out at him and dried my tears and he rolled his eyes at me and we went home (which is across the street from my grandparents) My mom was pissed at him and my brother. My grandpa isn't even my real one.

Question: I see my Dad a lot more then my mother because my mother kept me from him as a kid. Should I feel guilty here that I favor him?

I still see my mother some but I see my Dad once a week and my mother once or twice a month. Their divorced obviously and my mother resents the time I spend with him but as a kid I wasn't able to see him much because my mother had me brainwashed that he was bad when I later learned he is not. As a kid I only saw him once a month when I had to per court order.
