It's normally the guy that proposes and then the girl wears the ring but the guy doesn't until the wedding. How come? And even if the girl proposes, she will still most likely buy an engagement ring before her wedding.??

Reason i ask is because my boyfriend told me that he has a ring for me and that he purchased it from Wal-Mart but he showed it to his sister and she said that he should save up more to get a better and more expensive ring.. I've been in a happy, healthy, stable relationship with my boyfriend, now fiance for 20 years. We were both married before we met in 1996. My 1st husband is died in March of 1992. My fiance's 1st wife died, after they were separated, and going through a divorce, in April of 1991. We've been together since 7/4/1996. My fiance and I are trying to determine if we should have a big wedding or go down to the courthouse to get married. Were in favor of the courthouse wedding, because cheap and easy. Our kids want us to have a big wedding with all of the trimmings. I'm not sure if that's appropriate for our situation. What would you do?

Before anyone says something mean, I know what I did was wrong. There s this guy (Ray) who I exchanged text with for 2 years behind my "then boyfriends back." We saw each other every once in a while (like at a store or something) which I was always with my boyfriend. This same guy always had a gf. With every single gf he s ever had, he s texted me behind their backs. He used to like every instagram picture I posted. Well I quit talking to him for a while and my boyfriend of 4 years proposed which I said yes. Ever since I ve been married, Ray has been so mean to me. He used to be so nice. We were all at a cookout for July 4th and he showed up with his gf. He kept looking at me & when my husband and I were walking off he called my husband s name out saying hey to him and struck up a conversation with him and stood right by me. He didn t say anything to me. I want to know what his deal is. Why would he talk to my husband right in front of me when he talked to me behind his back for 2 years? And yes my husband knows all about it. Ray s brothers message me all the time but I can t even get a hey out of him now. Does he just hate me or what?

My fiancé called off our wedding. He says he loves somebody else and proposing to me was a mistake. Now, he wants me to give him back my engagement ring that he used to propose to me. He wants to use it for his new girlfriend. I told him no because it is a gift that he gave to me, and I have the right to keep it. (I can make money off it if I sell it). He says it's selfish and dishonest that I'm keeping it because he doesn't love me anymore. Who's right? Can he legally get the ring back? We live in Georgia.
