So I moved in with my dad about 4 months ago, because I had been living with my mom but we had differences in religion and it caused major problems so I moved in with my dad, and I knew it wouldn't be that much better but I would have a little bit more freedom as well as moral relief, and I didnt try to move in with someone outside the family because I knew the law only truly protected me in the family and I had not turned 17 yet anyways, but now I am 17 since July 1st. But my dad subjects me to tremendous stress and verbal abuse. He constantly is yelling at me, stating that I'm stupid and I'm dumb and he should put me in a mental home because I can't think clearly and I am incapable of using common sense and all these other things. The reasons why he says this are very trivial, such as I forgot to do something like turn the lights on around the house at night or while I locked the house door, I forgot to lock the screen door or I forgot to take out the trash, or even that I misunderstood or didnt hear clearly what he said with his deep toned voice. I am hard of hearing so I have trouble hearing what he says, especially when he mumbles in an attempt to yell at me for not hearing him, and he words things strangely to confuse me so that he can yell and say those things, also blaming anything I enjoy doing on why i'm so stupid, anything from video games to my girlfriend, just to find a cause for him to "fix". I will add more in the updates or comments due to lack of space He puts me under tremendous stress and causes me to panic and to lose all ability to think clearly around him, especially when he gets like that. He's even hit me upside my head, open-handed of course but still. I would already have a pre-destined place to live, and I have a part-time job, as well as some help for when i get out on my own. Would I be able to safely and legally move out considering this? Also I live in North Carolina if that helps. Like I said, i already have a place I would stay, I have a job, and I plan on staying in school if I do this.

My ex husband and his parents are unhappy with me because I am following the court agreement to start doing seperate holidays. We have two kid together and my ex husband has no boundaries and only want to see his kids if he can come over to my place and see them. Him and his parents are also used to spending their holidays with my family because they dont get along with their family. I told them I'd like to start doing seperate holidays and he could take the kids for half the day with his parents but they were no longer invited to my families house. My ex husband went off on me. Why is this?

I used to be on here a lot, asking for help with different stuff and helping other people who needed help; I loved this "community", but stopped because of being busy with work and my kids. I'm only fourteen years old, and my life is terrible. My mom drinks until she passes out on the couch (every night) and my dad smokes so much that he sometimes coughs until he throws up. I'm homeschooled, and have been since sixth grade because I thought it would be fun. Boy was I wrong. Now I spend literally all of my time at home and have no friends at all. My parents aren't even there to help me on schoolwork, and they don't check it or anything. It's like I'm not even in school at all. My sister always bullies me because I'm an "antisocial freak with no friends", but it's NOT MY FAULT. I want to go to a real school but I'm very afraid to ask my mom. I can't ask her after about 5pm because that's usually when she starts her drinking. The last time I told her something really important she completely forgot about it after a week, starting drinking WAY more, and didn't talk to me barely at all (still doesn't to this day). My ex husband yelled at me the other day and called me selfish because I explained to him that we need to start doing seperate thanksgivings. We have two young children together and usually him and his parents would come to my aunts house each year for thanksgiving. I've continued to allow him and his parents to come to thanksgivings at my family's even though we are divorced but I feel it needs to stop at some point. I told him he was welcome to take the kids with his parents for half of the day and do a separate thanksgiving with them and he did not like that idea and got very angry with me. I feel I need to start having separate lives from my ex husband because he does not respect my boundaries at all and it needs to stop at some point. He stops by my place unannounced and only wants to see the kids if he can come over to my place and see them. He also went over a year without helping me financially with the kids and didn't start helping until the child support order kicked in from the court. He cannot be around the kids unsupervised because he is being investigated(not charged) for the second time for illegal activities invoking children online and uses it as an excuse to come by my place to see the kids instead of having his parents come and take them with him. I'm trying to move on with my life and act divorced and co parents with him in a healthy way with boundaries but I also want separate lives. Why is he so mad at me?

Lets start off here, we re both 22 I have PTSD from being raped a few years back. I have no problem talking about it here as it s sort of anonymous. Im not catholic but I attend church with him and his family out of respect his family is nice to me but I m just really uncomfortable around them. My mother sent me a message over Facebook today. She said that she and my father would like to see me sometime. It has been 7 years since the last time we spoke. I was 18 and I left after a nasty argument with my parents. They attempted to contact me for a year or two after I left, however, I did not respond to them. By the time I realized what a terrible mistake I had made by losing contact with my parents, almost 5 years had passed and I felt like I had put my parents through to much heartbreak to resume contact. I didn't want to open up old scars. I got married without inviting my parents and I had 3 kids without telling my parents. The kids are now 5 months old, 3 years old and 5 years old. So, I'm a new year 7 and ive just started secondary school. I have a PlayStation 3, and I have to admit, I do play on it quite a lot. However, I still get good grades, have a healthy lifestyle, don't get told off by my teachers, and I get my homework in on time. Hi my name is nick tempon and i am 16 years old so....5 months ago i got grounded because i bullied a kid,my dad got very angry and he told me that i am grounded for 2 months i said ok because i understood my fault and i had to punished for this. my grounding terms was not allowed to get out of my room(only for bath and food) no electronics early bedtime (8o clock pm) when the 2 months of my punishment end i went and asked my dad if was ungrounded now....he told me that i didnt suffer, like i had to be and that i was grounded for another 3 months!!!!! it was AWFUL!! He's just as fed up with her as I am. I hear them argue in the house about the situation. He's tried talking calmly to her but she either changes the subject or walks away and slams the door in the middle of his sentence. My boyfriend lives in a house that he bought from years of saving money as a teenager and young/legal adult when working a different job. We're in our early 20's now and have made a plan for me to move in with him to get our lives started together along with me finishing my education at a 4-year uni in his area. We're both tidy organized responsible people. The problem is his mom who originally agreed to move in for no more than a few months after losing her job and apartment which has now been over a year. He's tired of her making messes, not contributing financially, refusing to look for a job and threatening to kill herself whenever he gives her the ultimatum to move out. He wants it to be just me and him and is tired of her irresponsibility. She won't listen, won't move out, won't get a job, has no friends or other family to move to, etc. He has come to me stressed before saying he doesn't know what else to do. She won't listen when he tries to communicate with her and he doesn't have extra money to take her to court. Bills and food went up since she moved in but she doesn't see it as a big deal. He works full time while she watches TV all day. She's in her 50's. I visit and am seeing this myself. He recently had a stress attack and almost fainted.

Basically I'm 17 and doing my AS levels. I had to do a maths test which I revised for a lot but I just didnt do well in the exam. I was in a bad mood because of it and reasonably so,why shouldn't I be allowed to get upset? So I got in the car waiting, when they got in they were like hello! And I said hello back just quietly and didn't smile but I wasn't rude or anything. Mum: 'Oh for god sake are you in a strop' in a really harsh tone. She said 'So why you in a strop' and I said about the maths test and she said oh what did you get? And I said I only just did it and again she said really harshly 'Oh for god sake, so you dont even know you've done bad. Just get out that strop!' So I went quiet but again, not rude. Then she said 'So when was the test, and then I said last period and she was like 'Oh so you havent been in a strop the whole day' and then her and my brother kept saying oh my god shes so stroppy like get out of it. And then I finally snapped because it was very clear that was upset about it and its a genuine thing to get annoyed about. So I shouted back 'Can you just stop it because its obvious Im upset' then she was like 'Dont you dare shout at me' so I shouted 'Well you're both doing my headin, jesus christ'. So now I'm grounded and I have to cancel dinner reservations and cinema tickets. Is it just me or was she being so unreasonable? Did she expect me to sit there and take her sh*t when I already felt crap enough? Dont provoke if you dont want a reaction?

I am 15 years old, a sophomore in high school and I live with my grandparents who are pretty young grandparents (mid 50s). I am only allowed to have sleepovers one night of the weekend and some times not even that. I am not allowed to go to parties, my curfew is 10 o'clock and I'm not allowed to drive in the car with teenagers. and whenever I am in public with my grandparents, they still hold my hand. I have tried to talk to them multiple times about all of the rules but it seriously doesn't work so I need another option. I am not allowed to date boys. I have an iPhone but i can't bring it to school and it gets taken at 8:30 on the week days and 11 on the weekends and even if I sneak it back, it is shut off by these times. Here's the deal. I was really big, really strong, still am, but not as much as before. This might sound dumb, but I was masturbating and lost tons of muscle mass. This happened about 3 weeks ago. My mom is in her 60s and is a nurse. She was recently discharged from the hospital for a UTI and is having antibiotics @ home. Her doctor didnt say 1 thing about being on bedrest and she walks fine and seems to be doing well. My 90+ grandma jumped down her throat and told her that she is not go to anywhere, do anything, but look @ the 4 walls because she is "sick". I asked my mom if she would like me to pick her up today and take her to the store, etc because I did volunteer to clean and cook for her while I am on maternity leave myself. She said she is not allowed to because her mother calls the shots and told her to stay @ home. I called and chewed my grandma out and asked why she did this, she said my mom misinterpreted what she said. Anyways: is my grandma right in demanding my mother stay @ home and do nothing? My mom is 300 lbs+ and could stand to lose some weight, so walking in a store would be beneficial to her.

I am 11 years old, and I have Aspergers. My day started as usual until I was working on my computer and doing school, and he said 'Put that pan over there'. I told him, 'where?' He said 'somewhere over there'. I just got it and put it on the stove and came back to the table. As I was walking over there he said, 'why the **** was that do god damn hard?' in a loud loud voice. I said it was because of a lack in instruction. He yelled 'You take a ******* robotics class and you can't put a god damn pan over there? Bullshit! I am not putting up with this right now. BABIES need instructions.' I said you need to be a little more specific because 'over there' and 'somewhere' is not a valid location! He just ignored me. He was supposed to load up some K-12 lessons on his computer but instead he went to Facebook and ranted about me everywhere to everyone. He then said 'get some ******* paper and something to write with, smartass.'. He said to check the back bedroom for printer paper my mom got me but it's not there. I knew he had taken it somewhere off of the table, because I had been looking for it AND I saw him move it. I said that you moved it, where'd you put it? He just yelled 'I don't give a **** where I put it, just go get it! There should be some spirals in your bedroom behind your TV on the dresser.' I checked and they weren't there. My daughter told me she hated me for something that happened 20 years ago. She was a highly intelligent(still is) and very sensitive child. We were living in the inner city at the time and she was seemingly happy and well adjusted. My partner at the time, who was older than me, had a granddaughter a year younger than my daughter and the granddaughters mom was bad I to drugs so my partner got the grand child for the summer and it was hell. My partners grand daughter made fun of my child for not having a father. She would say "you ain't got a daddy" and "you don't know your daddy" which my daughter doesn't and she never talks about it. But that summer she changed she became more withdrawn. I asked my partner to have her grandchild stop saying those things to her and my partner told me "well, she is fatherless" and that summer I watched my child become someone I did not know. She became moody and sometimes mean. And in her teen years we moved across country with my partner and it got worse. She would just stay in her room and play video games, not that unusual for a teen but I came home from work early one day and my partner was in her face yelling at her over a fork in the sink. And one night she threw a glass vase at her and hit her in the head. Once she ran away while I was at work and my partner didnt even know she was gone and had been gone 6 hours. Now. My daughter is 26, married, halfway through her masters with a one year old son and she hardly talks to me.

So there is this YouTuber single mom or she's with her youngest child's father at the moment. But its sad because she keeps sleeping with dead beats and having kids with them. I think my mom is verbally abusing me. She use to physically abuse me like she would hit me with bomb boxes and once even tried to stab me. The cops got involved, and she made me lie to the cops saying I made it up. Lately she s been wanting me to be so perfect, she calls me fat and tells me how ugly I am. Okay so my mom wants to save money on postponing my license test in order to not pay for my insurance yet, what s in it for me? I have a lot of trouble waking up most days to go to school; today was not one of those days, and I m trying to find out why so I can replicate today. Yesterday was a sort of stressful day in which I got yelled at, cried a little and was in my room sleeping/watching videos on my phone (when I got it back because my step-mother asked my tyrannical dad) most of the time. Usually I would ve playing games on my laptop but I had left the charger somewhere. My story is a long and crazy one but just to make it short - my mother is ruining my life. It is not that I do not appreciate what she's done for me, but shes overbearing, overprotective, extremely self-righteous and everything has to be done her way. She would vehemently deny it if I were to mention that but I feel for a long time I have been the obedient child because I was not working at the time. It was hard for me to get a job after graduating high school for years because I had no experience. I immediately thought about volunteering but my mom denied me of doing it and using her cars. I live too far to walk anywhere (the closest store was a 20min drive). She even told me she purposely moved there so I (and my other siblings) could not go anywhere. It left me with no choice but to obey. Wanting to earn money still I somehow figured out I could earn money online. I started by making pennies on the dollar until I successfully made money I could live on. I secretly rented an apartment and have been paying it for months without living there. I know its crazy... but every time I try to go, something bad happens at my parents home where I have to stay or she will say al ot of other family issues going on to make me feel guilty. I do not have the best relationship with my mom and when I move out I actually do not want to talk with her a while just too cool off and worry about me for a while. Still, I have no idea how to leave and not talk a while, but say it respectfully.

I am in emotional pain, and stress. I'm 18 years old, I go to a junior college part time, and work part time 8-12 hours a week. I have a bit of savings $700. Each 2 weeks I make about 200 dollars, I save that money to pay for my food, car insurance, and gas for my car. My parents died when I was 11 years old, ever since I've been living with my sister who has kicked me out to make room for her second child. No one in my family is willing to help me get a home to sleep in. My main problem is shelter, I cannot afford to pay rent at $300+ what should I do? I am independent, since no one is supporting me in my family should I just cut the ties? They won't even let me sleep on their couch, or help me financially. I am 20, almost 21. I don't have any full siblings. My mom and dad decided to just have me. I have two half siblings, my older sister who is 32 and my brother who is 27. We share the same mom but have different dads. I have always felt extremely different than them. They have a different kind of bond. I m currently married and have children of my own. Every time I have gone to my in laws (husbands side) my children have always gotten ignored. But only by my husbands brothers wife mainly. My brother in law will acknowledge them at times and other times he won t. His wife on the other hand never even offered to hold them when they were smaller. Even though they did acknowledge the children on her side of the family. They have also never given out any presents to my children nor celebrated their birthdays with us because they are always (busy). Now they have a child of their own and as much I would like to hold their few month old child I just don t. I haven t held the baby once. Nor do I ever go near the baby. (I recently turned 16)My parents recently got divorced, my father found a girl and he's not the dating type and both agreed to get married. She's cool, but it seems like she's trying to change me. Bit of background here, I'm a very freedom oriented person (It's not that stereotypical teenager thing, I've always been that way). I won't bow or conform to anyone or anything unless I've found a reason to. My dad is extremely laid back, he'd let me do anything short of drugs or killing an innocent person, and I believe that has truly made me a smarter person, and he agrees with that, I'm very intellectual and have a good head on my shoulders. Anyway, she's trying to stop the things that I've always done in life (that never hurt me or anyone else) the way I dress (which is jeans, boots, usually a flannel shirt, and a backwards hat) There's also going to be new rules apparently, which, I don't exactly agree with. I did perfectly fine without them, why do I need new ones? I'm a musically driven person, I listen to metal and some old country, and if that gets taken away or restricted...**** I'd be in one hell of a pickle lol. Anyway, this has only happened recently, so it's not much, but the question is, should a step mom really have authority to change these things? My biological mother never found a problem with any of these things by the way. I WANT to talk to my father about it but don't want to hurt his feelings as he really loves this girl. My parents got a divorce when I was about 8 years old. My sister & I lived with our mom, we moved to a different state 8 hours away. We only saw our father about 2 times a month. We have now lived with our mother for 6 years & see our dad about once a month, since he moved to another state with his fiancé that is 35 hours away. My sister & I both adore his fiancé and enjoy seeing the both of them. But here's the problem.. I'm 14 now & my sister is going to college in the same state as my dad. My mom & her boyfriend are going to be moving in together soon & my dad gave me the option to live with him since my sister will be moving closer too. I love my mom but I have a lot of problems living with her. She is very bad a disciplining my sister & I. I get really bad grades, eat unhealthy, back talk & just do not like the way I am turning out. My dad is very strict & I feel if I moved in with him my grades would get better, my attitude, & pretty much my whole life style would be better. except it's my freshman year & I would have to leave in the middle of high school, make all new friends, leave my dance team, & would lose a lot of freedom.
