Question: Is it time to send dad to a nursing home? Posted: 04 Apr 2018 01:22 PM PDT Parents are split up 40 years ago. Mom remarried and moved to FL. She s doing OK. Dad, not so much. I was 15 when they split up back in 1978. My sister was 19 and out of the house. Dad s alcohol problems led to divorce, got even worse over the years. He is 85 now. He has some dementia, but its more he just doesn t give a f*ck anymore. He is urinating himself. We arranged for a carpet cleaning company to clean his carpets in November 2017. They told us it was really bad, but they were able to improve it somewhat. The landlord went to visit dad on Monday to look his place over and renew the lease, which is up April 30. He told us the place really stinks of pee and it appears he is rubbing poop hands on the walls. My sister says get the cleaners back in there. Maybe do his laundry? Was the walls and reclean the carpets. Let Dad renew the lease one more year. If the place is cleaned up, maybe the landlord will let him stay. Dad says he doesn t want to go to a nursing home because he likes to drink and smoke. I think he d be better off in a home. Perhaps some will let him have a beer or two, but few will let him smoke. If he moves closer to me, the NYC suburbs, he certainly isn t going to be able to smoke. My sister lives in FL not far from out mother. Maybe they will let him smoke there? Dad is where we grew up. Between Niagara Falls and Buffalo, NY. It is so freaking cold there! I live in Westchester County, just north of NYC. It is a good 6.5 hour drive to him. |
Question: How many aunts and uncles do you have? Posted: 04 Apr 2018 11:52 AM PDT I have only uncles, no aunts. My dad has 2 brothers and my mom has 1 brother. How about you? |
Question: My friends dad is making all of his kids move out and spread apart. what could this mean? Posted: 04 Apr 2018 11:27 AM PDT my best friends told me last night that her father made her move in with her mom (who has a history of abusing her) for the rest of her childhood/teenage years until she can move out. his reasoning was that they needed to reconnect. he's also seemed to have made the older sister move out when she wasn't ready. my friend also told me that he's been getting paler with bags under his eyes. help?? |
Question: Should I run away? (please read)? Posted: 04 Apr 2018 09:39 AM PDT My abusive parents are getting worse everyday. For example, When I was 5 years old, I was getting something to eat and then my mom slapped me across the face hard for no reason. When I turned 6, She started to threatening me by saying, "If you don't get away from me right now, I will whip you so hard that you won't ever sit anymore" and many others. When I turned 7, my dad was hitting me hard alot, and forced me to have a sip of his nasty a** beer. When I turned 8, They got a horrible dog and then treated her badly and others. And the threats and hitting got more worse everyday. When I turned 9, My dad started to get more drunk and said mean crap to us in-front of our face. He even yanked my arm hard and pulled me outside and forced me to go for a walk. When I hit 10, Everything hit rock bottom. My parents adopted a new dog, and they started to act like sh*t towards him. Hurting the dog's neck, shoving the dog, kicking the dog, and then they started to get more lazier by the second, My dad left his job, my mom doing absolutely nothing. She called me a failed abortion and said more things to hurt me. I am ready to run away for a few days to my friend's house and talk to them about this situation. I've tried calling and contacting for help but then they tried taking my laptop away. I'm in the need of help, I've tried talking to them but they keep abusing me. I've got supplies ready to run away. I can no longer handle their abuse. I've been a good child and then I get abused. |
Question: Did she lend me the dress to make me look bad? Posted: 04 Apr 2018 07:18 AM PDT My auntie lent me her daughters dress to go to a family party. Anyway it was way too tight even though I'm slim. I'm slimmer that her daughters so I'm guessing they only lent me the dress because her own daughters couldn't get into it. Anyway at the party she and her friends and daughters were frowning at my legs, whispering to each other while looking at me and when I look at the photographs I look like I'm gonna burst out of it, it was like a corset! You could see everything literally! It's like I was naked! When I sat down you could see my underwear! Did she lend me the dress just to humiliate me? After the party she demanded the dress back and told me if I wanted it what store I can buy it from. |
Question: Girls mature question? Posted: 04 Apr 2018 03:42 AM PDT So my gf age 19 broke up with me due to college distance. We dated for 1 year. After the break up we didn't see each other for a whole year or so. Out the blues she popped up again and said she was moving back home due to homesick. Since we never had sex due to her claiming to be a virgin i was curious to ask a question. I asked if she dated/slept with anyone in the nicest way out in college. She replied with "Nothing serious". I then asked how far she got in the dates and she wouldn't answer it. She just looked at me like wtf and kept walking away ignoring my question. In the end we broke up after this and we never got back. Needless to say do you think she slept around? or was i just being a paranoid idiot???? |
Question: How do I tell my parents that I might not be graduating? Posted: 04 Apr 2018 03:09 AM PDT I'm super upset.. I don't think I'm going to be able to graduate at all whatsoever. I feel so sad, I'm on the last quarter of the school year and it just started and my gpa is passing, but my classes I don't know if I'm passing all of them in.. I feel like I'm dumb.. I don't know what to do or say.. I'm planning to live with my boyfriend when I turn 18 which is in July.. |
Question: Is this normal for a 19 yo? Posted: 04 Apr 2018 01:20 AM PDT I attend ASU full time studying mechanical engineering(scholarship fully paid for it), work 24 hours a week, have a car payment, insurance bill(which is more then the car payment), have my own medical/dental and life insurance, pay a phone bill for myself, mother, and two sisters, buy my own groceries, and put money away for my savings for a house in the future. Is this a lot for someone who just turned 19 a month ago? I feel as if I'm ready to be an adult, but not sure if I'm going to fast... |

Posted: 03 Apr 2018 08:22 PM PDT I turn 16 on April 9th and we were going to go to a bigger town this saturday (i've only traveled to two places other than my hometown) so I'm really excited. However, i'm upset because going this weekend would mean my mother and grandmother wouldn't have any money of their own to spend, so Id be the only one having fun. But I don't want to go next weekend, when they'd have more money, because that's a week after my birthday and it won't feel special to me, so i won't be excited to go. I don't know what to do, because i want them to be able to buy things and enjoy themselves but then i also want to go at a time when i'm excited about it since i won't be able to have an actual party. please help, what should i do?? |
Question: What will my consuellor think about this? Posted: 03 Apr 2018 08:15 PM PDT My mom and stepdad get really drunk and have sex really loud even when we have friends over. The family consuellor kinda treats me like I m a 5 year old, but I m 14 and she knows I don t want to live with my mom. I m scared to tell her. |
Question: My teen is being bullied for being extremely physically developed. What should I do? Posted: 03 Apr 2018 07:47 PM PDT My 15 year old is being attacked physically and emotionally. The school does NOTHING after endless reports, and the kids' parents do NOTHING at all. My daughter looks nothing like a young girl compared to her peers. The guys constantly target and embarrass her with jokes about her. Girls her age threaten and gossip about her, along with hanging up. This all seems like teenage drama, but I'm worried she's sinking into depression. |
Question: My Dad likes to lie a lot, How do I protect myself from his arrogance and lies? Posted: 03 Apr 2018 07:03 PM PDT |
Posted: 03 Apr 2018 06:52 PM PDT I know at 14 it would be normal but at 24 (twenty four) would this be normal still? |
Question: How can I move out of my parents house at 18? Posted: 03 Apr 2018 06:44 PM PDT I'm currently 16 and a guy. My father is an abusive asshole and I plan to just stick it out and move out when I'm 18. I will obviously need a job and to save money. I don't plan on going to University college or the military, I would however like to go to Trade school or Community college or some other career training type education. My questions are, where will I go? How much money do I need to save?, What is the cost of living? I also plan on cutting off communication with my father and quite possibly my brother so if this doesn't work out I'm homeless. Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated. |
Question: How do I tell my brother I don’t want to live with him when our lease is up? Posted: 03 Apr 2018 06:20 PM PDT He's overly aggressive, threatened my dog, blames our roommate for the way I feel things should be run. He has a violent past. Where he would threaten to kill himself or or taking a knife and chasing us into our parents room where we locked him out and he'd stab the door until our parents came home. And also broke part of the door kicking it. He's not so much like that now but still has episodes. Like when he threatened my dog. He doesn't help clean and doesn't buy a lot of food and just eats ours. So we just don't want to live with him anymore and instead plan on living with my little sister and her boyfriend. I'm just scared of how he's going to react when we tell him. And don't know how to tell him |
Question: Was it wrong of me to say no to my mother? Posted: 03 Apr 2018 04:53 PM PDT It was Easter and I was going out with my boyfriend to spend the rest of the day with him. My mother asked if I could go to the store and buy her a lotto ticket. I said I didn't really want to. She tends to ask me for a favor everytime I go out with him since he has a car and we go out every week since we don't get to see eachother that much due to work schedules. I didn't really want to have to worry about having to do something. Naturally, she got upset telling me she needed a bus ticket for work which I would of gotten since it's something she really needs but she never told me this. She went on saying what she's been through even though I went through the situation with her and I've always helped her out. |
Question: Who should I move with? Posted: 03 Apr 2018 04:18 PM PDT Hello, I'm 16 and my mom wants to move to another state because she's always wanted to live there and she has a job offer. I don't want to move because I have a life and friends where I live. I also have a plan for where I want to go to college and what I want to do w my life. My gpa is 3.8 and I am on track for an academic honor diploma at my highschool. I have a brother that has a nice job where I currently live and he says I can live with him. I am very close with both my brother and my mom but I don't want to move away from the life I have. I know that the decision comes down to me but I would just like some advice on maybe what I should do. |

Question: Should I choose my career or my parents? Posted: 03 Apr 2018 02:21 PM PDT Basically I am an actor in Hollywood but I am struggling as well. Im not doing well financially or mentally (homesick and lonely). Anyway, my parents are in their mid 60s and their health is not good, but I have wanted to be an actor since I was 5 years old, Im 27 now. My bofriend hates it here and wants to return home. Im torn because I feel like by continuing to stay here I am choosing my career over time that could be spent with my parents before they are gone. Should I move home to Colorado and be with them or should I stay here and continue my acting career? |
Posted: 03 Apr 2018 01:19 PM PDT I am 24 years old... my father had a previous wife, split up with her and met my mother. They had me and after years (8years) went by my parents split up and my father moved back home with his previous wife. I believe to be the love child. It is very rare my dad will make contact with me first and I have to be the one who makes the effort all the time - he says he loves me and misses me but he goes months and months without seeing me or speaking to me. I haven't seen or heard from him since this Christmas! (2017) I feel he should make some effort and I am done with always being the one to make it. I am always very loving and polite to my dad so I have no idea why he doesn't care about me! What do you think? |
