Question: How can a 15/16 year old date a boy without parents knowing? Posted: 19 Apr 2018 01:06 PM PDT I'm turning 16 in two days. My parents traditionally forbid dating until we're 18 and in college. They haven't even had the sex talk with us. I'm allowed to go anywhere after school and they'll assume I'm tutoring or at track and field practice. They never check or question my online activity so I don't hide social media stuff. I'm not allowed to be out at night, just daytime. |
Posted: 19 Apr 2018 12:26 PM PDT I contacted the school when my 15 year old daughter befriended a high school senior who pressured her to drugs. My daughter refused but I was still worried. The admin said that NO student by the full name she gave my daughter attends her school. Now that my daughter thinks of it, she never sees the older girl talking to anyone else. We looked through a few yearbooks. Her picture is nowhere to be seen. She could've lied about her name since she sounds like a troublemaker, but it's odd how someone could miss picture day for 4 years in a row. No one seems to know her. They just met in the hallways, the day my daughter got sick and needed help getting to the office. They wouldn't be in the same classes anyways since the girl is a few years older so it wasn't suspicious at first. |
Posted: 19 Apr 2018 11:29 AM PDT Note: My dad cheated on my mother and they divorced when I was about 4. He moved back to Texas from Iowa (where I was raised by my mother) after the divorce. We saw him maybe 2 days over the summers when we would go visit his side of the family for 2 week stays as kids all through high school. As adults we are friendly and I have nothing against him, but my step-dad has been a huge part of my life since he came in the picture over 17 years ago. My step dad goes above and beyond for me every single day, which is why I want him to walk me down the aisle. I don t hate my biological dad, which is what makes this so hard. I don t want him to hate me for this and not end up coming to the wedding. Thanks for all the help! I appreciate it! |

Question: How should I ask my mom to buy a scale? Posted: 19 Apr 2018 10:59 AM PDT So I'd like to know my weight but the only scale we have is broken. I'm thirteen and no I don't have an eating disorder I just want to know. I'm homeschooled so I can't say it's for school. What could I say as an excuse? How should I say it? |
Question: Apartment security, is it necessary? Posted: 19 Apr 2018 09:30 AM PDT Is it necessary that she gets a security bar stopper? The kind that looks like a leg that pushes against the floor, and the handle for her apartment ? She also wants a stopprr for the glass sliding door. Its a safe neighbor over all, but the walk in door is not locked. Her place faces the back woods, but I keep telling her she will be find. What you think sould she actually get security items to be by Her self to make her place "safer"? |

Question: Putting baby in daycare during the day, getting a nanny for night? Posted: 19 Apr 2018 08:30 AM PDT I am a college student, 19, pregnant. This is going to be my schedule after I give birth. Morning: Classes. Afternoon: Work. Evening: Pick up baby from daycare, Arrive Home, study, homework. Would I be wise to get one of my close friends to nanny so I can actually study and get things done? Also, there's a daycare at my college. I pretty much have no option. |
Question: Ex wants custody of our daughter? Posted: 19 Apr 2018 07:03 AM PDT My ex is requesting full custody of our daughter who he has only met once (when she was 2 months old.) When I offer to arrange visits for him to spend time with her, he refuses. He has no relationship with our now 8 month old daughter. He wants full custody so he can have our daughter without me in the picture, so his girlfriend doesn't get mad. On top of that, he had denied paternity of her three seperate times to stall the child support process. He has never sent our daughter anything. He doesn't ask about her. We also live in different states now, as he abandoned me and my daughter while I was 5 months pregnant with her. Can someone like this gain full custody? I am baffled. |
Question: Should i leave my parent's ailing marriage alone even though it's affecting me? Posted: 19 Apr 2018 05:37 AM PDT my parents have been in a loveless sexless marriage for 20 years. Everytime they fight it gets physical (more like my mom fighting on my dad) and they start screaming and it gets pretty bad so my brothers and i have to break it up everytime. Yesterday we had a talk and i explained that their marriage gives me such grief it makes my life so stressful. My mother told me this morning it's because of their culture and we should try to understand but even if i understand it doesn't make it okay for me at least. I'm going to college soon but i am commuting from home so there's no difference. At this point i'm just going to let their marriage be whatever and i can live my life whatever maybe with therapy later on. Do you have any tips or advice for me. I feel so sad about this but there's nothing i can physically do right now as i'm going to college from home..i'm only 17 btw |
Question: Are sibling relationships important to you? Posted: 18 Apr 2018 11:58 PM PDT I have 4 older brothers I'm 19, 20 in June. They are 21 - 31 as of now. I feel like we aren't close and don't talk too much. My 21 year old brother and I used to be kinda close when we were little he's 1.5 years older but now he's kinda antisocial and only obsessed with finding a gf. My 24 year old brother is a selfish jerk that no one likes. He's ok at times but I don't care for him much. My 26 year old brother is cool but I've never really been close to him, he was just another brother. He's probably the one I like the most right now. My oldest brother was so cool to me growing up but he's older than me by 10+ years so never really was close. But I just wish we all were closer but I guess it won't happen but it is important. I didn't it was when I was younger since we used to fight a lot but now that I'm older I feel alone and need a family or at least a girlfriend but I'm just hopeless when it comes to dating females lol. |

Question: Is it “okay” for an 11 year old girl to play with 5-6 year olds as her friends? Posted: 18 Apr 2018 06:17 PM PDT My daughter is diagnosed with Asperger's. Her teacher is worried that playing with 5 year old girls at recess is delaying her maturity. I encourage her to talk to her peers, but it doesn't work. She has no interest in them, and they ignore her completely. The younger children love her so much, and their parents like her around. My main worry would be middle school and the upcoming teenage years. How will she cope when she's at a school with only 11-14 year olds? She'll still see her friends outside of school, but there might be problems AT school. Worse, puberty is expected to hit her any time soon. It's not appropriate for these very young girls to be exposed to these changes in early childhood. I don't know how she'll cope, but I'm always thinking of strategies and worrying about next year. |
Question: Dreaming About Someone Dying And Then Something Bad Happened? Posted: 18 Apr 2018 05:27 PM PDT Hi. So last night I had a dream that my older brother had died and then I woke up to my drunk dad yelling at everyone (usual) and I remember thinking, "Even being in my nightmare about my brother dying is way better than ever waking up." And the same day goes on and suddenly my brother and my drunk dad are fighting. They shattered our entire glass top of our table and I was screaming at my dad the whole time. Anyways, does this mean my dream was a warning about today? Or was it just coincidence? (For those who are wondering what happened after, the police got involved and my brother moved out and the police never arrested my dad even though I explained my dad has hit me before and he hit me again because i was yelling at him when he was fighting my brother... long story short the police suggested i go to the mental hospital which i never went to because my mom wouldn't let me go even after she saw my self harm cuts) |
Question: Calling off the wedding then it's back on, but still fighting? Posted: 18 Apr 2018 04:57 PM PDT I'm gonna try to make this short as possible, stating the generic details. My brother, 26 is marrying this girl, 25 who no one our the family likes, yet there's nothing we can do because he is an adult. *They've been dating 2 years* *My brother's ex girlfriend was her best friend (we loved her till distance torn them apart) I, personally never had a conversation with her. She's very unapproachable, standoffish, and never smiles. She called up our mother telling her that she "ruined" her bridal shower because she was helping her load up the car with their gifts. My mom was crying for her future daughter in law yelling at her, yet my mom was the one who apologizes to her. Ugh. She's calls my mom again another day, shortly after at 3AM to come get her son out of her house. I guess they got into a massive fight where they called off the wedding. Two days later, the wedding is back on.. We had a family dinner another night and everyone is having a great time while she is on her phone scrolling through social media. My dad hates that. They fought another time and again where my brother came home all stressed out and wanted to get away for the night. So he hang with the family. I know there's nothing we can do, but help! The wedding is in 10 days, do you think they will get married? You think he will leave her the alter?! I'm so nervous for my brother to be miserable. We live in California where there are lots natural fires*** |
Question: What do I do when I get home from school in an hour if Dad is drunk? Posted: 18 Apr 2018 04:57 PM PDT Mom and my sisters are out of town seeing colleges so it is just me and my Dad and I am really scared cause he is usually drunk and he is mean when drunk. My Mom says I can't tell anyone he drinks or they will judge so I am asking on here where no one knows me. I have a nervous stomach and will be home in 30 minutes. He is usually drunk but was okay this morning. Mom works so he stays home all day. |
Posted: 18 Apr 2018 04:48 PM PDT Or should I be mean to since my Mom and her family are? |
Question: My fiance disrespects my family, what should I do? Posted: 18 Apr 2018 04:41 PM PDT She's saying that they manipulate us and that they're as bad as her parents (who are pretty bad) but that's not the case... My parents are very calm, loving people who have shown her love when her parents didn't... When her Parents realised what they were doing they changed their attitude towards her so now she hates my parents. I tell her it bothers me and she'll say that she doesn't mean to disrespect them but it'd different from her point of view... My mother cries on a daily basis because of the way she treats them... I love my fiance but I don't like her treatment of my parents... I've even thought of calling off the wedding because I'm sick of it... What should I do? |
Question: WHat do I do if I notice my neighbors neglecting their children? Posted: 18 Apr 2018 04:15 PM PDT |
Question: Does my boyfriend have a high chance of Addiction? Posted: 18 Apr 2018 04:13 PM PDT Most of my boyfriends family unfortunately died or became drug addicts. I say most but he doesn't have family anymore, his mom was a heavy gambler that bailed on him as a kid, his dad was an abusive alcoholic, his sisters are meth addicts and his only aunt committed suicide. I feel guilty for talking about it but lately hes been drinking whisky, a lot, and hes not an angry drunk, tbh he always seems happy and even happier when he wakes up from a night of drinking. He doesn't even get hangovers but i worry because of how his family was, should i be worried? |
Question: My mom threatened to slice my legs off? Posted: 18 Apr 2018 03:21 PM PDT shes always told me to straighten my legs when sitting because it'll help me grow. well i dont always forget but today i did and in the living room i sat on my knees instead. she stared straight into my eyes and she softly said "should i cut your legs off?" i thought she was joking but she didnt crack a smile, and she had the scary expression on her face. she kept looking at me. it was silent for so long it felt like an eternity. i didnt say anything. she apologized later i know it isnt a big deal, but im just wondering is this just a normal thing for a strict parent to say to their kid? just for discipline purposes |
Question: Who was wrong in this situation? Posted: 18 Apr 2018 03:08 PM PDT my younger brother had an art/science show thing at his school (he's in kindergarten), and my mom really wanted me to go. i said that i had two tests the day after and i would need to study, but she said that it's important for me to be there for my brother, and i wouldn't be allowed to hang out with my friends over the weekend if i didn't go. today, the day of the show, i was exhausted because of a project due the night prior, and i went upstairs to take a nap about an hour after i got home. my mom woke me up about half an hour after i fell asleep and said that i had to leave right then to go to the show. i went to the bathroom to fix myself up and use the toilet, and my mom had left without me. i called her and she said that i would be in trouble (most likely grounded) because i didn't go to his show, but i still made an effort to get ready once she woke me up. should i have not taken a nap/gotten up earlier, or should my mom have given me more time |
Question: I don’t listen to my mom anymore when she yells only when she talks? Posted: 18 Apr 2018 02:34 PM PDT She knows that but she keeps yelling like a dumb *** regardless and calling me bad names. |
Question: How do I study with a baby without getting distracted? Posted: 18 Apr 2018 02:18 PM PDT I'm a college student who's going to be a single mom. I'm planning take classes in the morning and working in the afternoon. I won't pick up the baby and be home until late evening so I only have a few hours to study and get things done before bedtime. I need to figure out how to use that time wisely without getting distracted, unless the baby cries or something. I have gotten a lot of comments telling me that this isn't possible, but I want to be able to keep my baby and can't afford to give up working and school. The baby will get all the attention in the world once I graduate. |
