My fiancé and I have been together 3 years. She is graduating with her PhD and wants to teach at a university. There are only 2 universities within 2 hours of where we live. I knew we'd likely have to move I've known that for awhile. I've recently realized I'm not willing to relocate for her career. I have a great job here that pays really well, my entire family is here, and I own my own home that is fully paid off no mortgage. My job can transfer me anywhere in the country we are a large company but I work with a great boss and it might not be as good when I move. The job market here is bad in general so I'm lucky to have this job.I'd rather her take any job here so we can stay here even just working at a hotel or something until she can get a job at the one college we do have in town then have us have to move. Am I being selfish? What should I do?
