Posted: 17 Apr 2018 08:05 PM PDT Many subjects that couples don't see eye to eye on can threaten their relationship or marriage. But isn't there always a way to see eye to eye where 2 people are willing? For instance, here are some subjects: finances, honesty, temptation.. All of which can be conquered with communication and cooperation. What are your thoughts? |
Question: New Wife Will Not Talk to My Kids? Posted: 17 Apr 2018 04:40 PM PDT My ex-wife has partially succeeded in turning our five children against me. We have shared custody. I got re-married last year. Some of my kids are often very rude to my bride. She responds by essentially never saying a word to the ones who are very rude to her. She won't even say "hello," "please," "thank you," or "goodbye." Sometimes she cannot bring herself to exchange a sign of peace at church with them. She finds it burdensome that I ask that she join us for meals -- she seemingly would prefer to eat by herself. She will say "I love you, but there is no need for me to love your children." She also says "I will try to have a friendship with them after they are respectful and loving with you, their father, but I will not try beforehand." Her family and friends tell her she needs to understand that I will love my kids no matter what, and that she should at least make some attempt to have a friendship with them. But she won't. I hate to pressure her to talk to them, or eat with us, or shake hands with them -- nobody likes to be pressured -- but this can't go on. Your thoughts? |
Question: Is this the weirdest thing ever? Posted: 17 Apr 2018 02:20 PM PDT I ran into my former mother in law at a mall and she told me her daughter, my ex, was getting married again. She told me who she was marrying and he was a casual acquaintance. I thought it was appropriate to send her a nice wedding gift and wish her and her new husband a long and happy married life. She thanked me for the gift but said not to contact her again as her husband did not want her in contact with other men especially me. I emailed her back and said I understood and I would not contact her again as I did not want to cause any problem with her marriage. About 4 months later I got a call from my ex's new husband wanting my help to get his computer back up running. He said "I know this is unusual but will you help me". Unusual, I thought it was weird. However I thought why make a enemy when you can make a friend so I agreed to help him and I told him how to fix his computer. He seemed happy. The last thing he said was "Please don't tell my wife I called you" and I said OK. He has called me a few more times asking for help with his computer and each time I helped him and each time he ask me not to tell his wife he had called. I am not sure how I should feel about this. He doesn't want his wife to talk to me but it is OK if he talks to me. Should I stop helping him with his problems until his wife knows about this. Advice please on what I should do. |
Question: Isn't it past time to take the stigma off of divorce? Posted: 17 Apr 2018 02:13 PM PDT Its said 50% of marriages end in divorce. The other 50% end in death. Isn't divorce better than death? |

Question: Is it normal for women to play 'dumb' when a man makes sexual advances? Posted: 17 Apr 2018 01:35 PM PDT It really drives me nuts because I have a lot invested in the approach. |
Question: Husband is in contact with his ex... what do I do? Posted: 17 Apr 2018 12:28 PM PDT |
Posted: 17 Apr 2018 07:11 AM PDT My husband and his drunk friends make outrageous bets all the time based on sports games. My husbands team lost the other night (Cleveland Cavs) and now he's supposed to go into the local airport bathroom and see how many men he can make a pass at while they're at the urinal. They want direct eye contact! I'm afraid he's gonna get his teeth kicked in. How do I get involved in this **** and end it once and for all? |
Posted: 17 Apr 2018 05:41 AM PDT referenced a private conversation I'd had with my wife. I had told my wife earlier that week that her new girlfriend spent more time with my kids than I did. So her friend says to me, 'I heard you were upset that you didn't get to go with us to the park'. I was pretty pissed because it came of to sound like I was jealous and I feel like my wife ran me down. She denies she did. Now however, I don't like her friend and want nothing to do with her. Am I reacting correctly? |
Posted: 17 Apr 2018 01:32 AM PDT Someone told be that they believed an affair is when a person is sleeping with someone other than their spouse more than once because they have fallen in love with the other person. She considered sleeping with another person just once for, idk, pleasure(?), whatever people find enjoyment in having the nasty, only once for the sake of the nasty as an affair. So, is sleeping with someone once considered an affair or not if you never meet up with that person or do it again with that person? |
