Posted: 05 Jan 2018 01:30 PM PST My mother passed away a few months ago and my dad takes it very hard. My sister and I fight all the time and I don't know how to deal with this problem. My dad always threatens that were gonna kill him someday and we really don't want to hear it right after our mom just died. We're terrified. Every single day when my dad is asleep, I check to see if he's breathing. Every single night. He works himself up, and flips out when something goes wrong. He raises his blood pressure too high. He calls us bad names, he lowers our self esteem, he brings negativity all around. I can't get him to see it and I don't know what to do. |
Question: How can I better my relationship with my sister? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 01:16 PM PST My sister is three years younger than me, me being 16. I'm a good kid (I may have a bad mouth; but otherwise, I'm a real good kid). I do what I'm told, sometimes, I don't even have to be told to do something; and I do it. I'm clean, I'm nice to everyone. The problem with my sister, is that she has absolutely no respect for me. I've raised her around a home that was broken growing up. I never told her about our parents fighting, financial issues, or anything. She got spoiled growing up and now she thinks that she can get away with almost everything. I always cook, clean, and take care of our animals. She's so quick to anger me, and she screams when you ask her the simplest of questions like,"Did you do your dishes?" And she would absolutely /burst/ out and a rage. She would call me names like moron a lot and I find myself even believing her. I'm terrified to make her upset, but I'm also so angry that I want to hit her! She gets in my face, talks about my insecurities, holds things over my head to get what she wants- she's manipulative and I can't figure out a way to get her to calm down and be peaceful. Even though I'm three years older than her, my dad says I have NO control over her. My dad is never home to see her being so mean to me and my brother just belittles us about arguing, rather take care of the problem. My grandmother is far too old to be dealing with us and it's such a problem. I have no idea how to approach this problem let alone deal with it. Please help |
Posted: 05 Jan 2018 01:07 PM PST His mum & my mum got involved in our relationship, instead of leaving us to it. Because of that they have somewhat sabotaged the relationship, It caused us to argue and makes us stressed ( we've both not got the best of mums) We are both struggling with depression and anxiety we're both only in our early 20's. As we're trying to find our feet and enjoy life and our relationship but its difficult as his mum & my mum are the issues ( my mum has calmed down for now) His mum however has been horrible to me since the start & she's called me ignorant and rude names, it's getting worse and it's effecting me. When I tell my partner she bothers me he most of the time is supportive and tells her about herself but sometimes it turns into an argument because he thinks I'm blaming him or things cant be relaxed, then I get even more angry that he cant understand, he does sometimes apologies for it though. I'm worried about my sanity as I'm getting more and more angry losing my mind that I get the blamed sometimes for making a ''big deal'' out of something when someone is disrespecting me insulting me for no reason by his mother. I feel like because she has had a bad past she gets away with things with my partner. I've always been respectful to her and house, until she started mistreating me. I keep telling my family that it bothers me but they keep saying ''well its her house and she can say what she wants in her house''. This makes me even more angry and make me feel I'm going crazy. |
Question: Was I molested or was this inappropriate touching? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 11:43 AM PST My step dad touched my breast over the shirt. It was on purpose. When I realized it was there I took it off and left the room. I'm also a teenager. |
Question: How do I gain self confidence if my mom makes me feel bad about my body? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 11:35 AM PST I'm 19 and I've always struggled with my body weight. When I was in middle school, I lost 30lbs, and I was at my skinniest, which was 145lbs. Back then, I had long hair, and a "great shape" according to my mom, and she would always tell me how beautiful I looked. During my senior year of high school, I went through a lot and my hair started to come out, so I got a pixie cut the summer before college. Since middle school, I've gained some of the weight back, and during my first semester of college, I've gained an extra 10lbs, and currently, I'm at my heaviest. So my mom always tells me how pretty I was when I was skinny and when I had my long hair, and honestly, she makes me feel like ****. But whenever I tell her that she makes me feel bad about my body, she just says that I'm too sensitive. I'm aware that I've gained weight and I'm working on it, however, I'm pear shaped and I still have a small waist, despite my 30+ weight gain. So, how can I tune out my mom's negative comments about my body, while gaining self confidence? |
Question: My brother is so annoying? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 10:30 AM PST So, I'm in 10th grade and my brother is in 7th and if he figures out that something bothers me when he does it, he'll go out of his way to do it. Like, he burps in my face all the time and when I tell him to stop, he just burps more, but just not as close. But then the next day, he'll come and burp in my face and then I'll say not to and it all repeats itself. Hr calls me "ugly" and "loser" as well. I don't really do anything to make him say that stuff. I just mind my own business and try to ignore him. I've tried telling my parents, but when they tell him to stop, all it does is make him worse when they aren't around! I am so sick of living like this. I have a bully in my own house. I've never been bullied at school yet I have to live with one. It's gotten to the point where it might affect where I want to go to freaking college! I try not to think about it like that but I just want to get out of this darn house and far far away from California(the state where I live). Any advice? |

Question: I just watched a rape scene with my parents - it's awkward!? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 10:07 AM PST I was enjoying the film and then bam. I could see my mum trying so hard to not show any feelings, and my dad was just watching it expressionless. What can I do to avoid this again without making it too obvious??? I'm 14. |

Question: My dad is going bankrupt soon? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 08:56 AM PST Hey, I'm just a teen. It all started when my parents got into an extremely complicated divorce. They spent all their money on the lawyers and they owe thousands of dollars. My dad's business if shutting down, we're selling the house, and he might be filing for bankruptcy. My mother has never had a job and she's in school right now studying to become a doctor when she is 40 years old. I don't know what to do. My parents keeping hiding things from me and won't teak me what's going on. I know it's my mother's fault because she was the one who sparked everything, even before I was born, but I won't go into that. What's going to happen? Correction: *won't TELL me... |
Posted: 05 Jan 2018 08:38 AM PST rent is about 825 dollars, which my mom mostly pay for, phone bill around 300. He never buys food or provide for anything in the household but his own wine and ciggarettes. This is bad right? As a man I was thought by movies and such that man should provide and protect the household but he's doing neither. What kind of role model is this? He drinks every night and starts fight with me almost every night he's drunk. Only reason why my mom hasnt kicked him out is because of his addiction and life would probably get worse. |
Question: Should I go to my cousin's wedding? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 08:30 AM PST So, I have moved out from my mother's house. I want no contact with her because she is toxic. This cousin is from my mother's side. I don't know him well at all. We never talk. My uncle wants everybody to go. I don't love or hate my uncle. Would you go if you were me? |
Question: Mom always asking for money and threatens to take stuff away when I say no........? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 08:10 AM PST She is always asking for money and making me feel bad and saying to stuff like "I always try to help and gibe you money when I can." "You always use and take my stuff." In reality, I don't. When I say no to giving her money, she grabs my phone and laptop and says well Ill take this, in which my dad and grandma bought. Not her. Eventually I give in and give her the money because I'm not gonna do without my phone and laptop. What do I do? I am 15, I can't move out. |
Question: I got a situation here? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 08:10 AM PST Just ignore the part that we still live at home, this is not my question I'm about to ask here... So last night I was sound asleep like minding my own buisness I was really tired and my little sister like always is scared of roaches and so besides calling on my mom or step father for help because she respect my mother and step father. She yells at me and says hurry to come kill a roach. So I dart over there and when I do try killing the roach, I think I missed it cause I thought I hit it and it wasn't there. So I told her to say call me when you see it again because I was tired. She was telling me don't leave and I just told her again, I am tired and dizzy. I just want to lay my head down for minute to rest I told her just to call on me again I said but it seemed like that was a problem. I know that my sister trying to play me because when she was on her own she did have no choice but toill it. And so my mom heard all the noise, she got upset and she blamed me yeah blaming me because I missed the roach and I told her just call on me when there was roach. So my mom curses me out and start hitting me to defend her response. Making excuses saying that she female and a girl. She 23 years old, she not a girl. She a grown woman and we're just 3 years apart. Plus I don't EVER bother her when she asleep, I respect her even when I deal with my own fears at night, So why must it be fair to bother me then? What did i do to deserve to lose my rest because of her so called roach phobia? |

Question: Am I wrong for feeling angry at my mom? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 05:26 AM PST I have 2 older sisters but I get stuck doing everything for our family because I am the guy and live closest to our mom. My one sister lives out of state and doesn't ever visit. She barley helps with anything and yet my mom feels like she contributes just the same. But I am the one there doing all the things around the house fixing things and doing yard work plus helping with finances and my mom's health. I pick up all the slack because my sisters don't do it or know how. Is it wrong for me to have resentment toward my mom and sister if she is not even trying to be a part of the family? How would she be justified for an equal share of inheritance etc. as well. It doesn't seem fair. I realize I am a guy but come on I'm not an only child they should help. |

Question: How to convince my parents to let me and my stepbrother continue to smoke weed.? Posted: 04 Jan 2018 10:08 PM PST So me and my stepbrother have been smoking weed for about a year pretty regularly, almost everyday. Just recently we got caught and now our parents are trying to make our lives HELL by grounding us to only school, work and the gym. (BTW we re both 17 turning 18 soon.) Our parents are very stubborn and they insist that marijuana is terrible for you and they threaten to kick us out if they find out we re continuing to smoke. We try to tell them facts about marijuana and how it isn t bad for you and how all of the folk tales about it are made up. Yet they are so stubborn that they insist those made up facts are true. Also, my older stepbrother who is 23 lives with us and does it more often than we do. They say "he s an adult he can do what he wants." How do we change 2 stubborn people s minds about this subject? We ve considered also just continuing to sneak around but it would be very difficult and we prefer to not lie to them anymore. |
Question: I hit my mom & don’t know what to do? Posted: 04 Jan 2018 10:03 PM PST I'm 21. When I got out the army my mom said I could stay with her for a while so that I could save up. But it's like she tried to kick me out over every single little thing. I left for s month she said I could come back. I have a job, I'm in school & my mom gave me her second vehicle seeing as though I gave up my camari that I shouldn't have got in the first place. Very grateful. But she holds that over my head & threatens to take it back when she gets mad. I was going to go ahead & put it in my name next week. I also found out I'm pregnant a couple weeks ago. My mom was surprisingly happy. Btw my dad lives in Italy (army). But this pregnancy has been messing with my hormones. I'm a happy person but I've been getting sooo angry sooo fast. Today I told my little sister to be quiet. She was purposely irritating me she's 11. My mom came in there and said she doesn't have to be & that I need yo be quite. I said if tori can dish it she can take it. I mean it's not like I told the girl to shut tf up. But nevertheless my mom got mad and was defending her. She started yelling, before I knew it I was yelling. I've never yelled at my mom before. But she ran up to me and started punching me in the face & I was hitting her back. My mom is a big woman. Probably pushing 300 pounds, I weight 110 I was kicking to get her off me. I ended up kicking her in the face I didn't really mean to & I got up & started punching her. She threw me out, I just moved into a place, I was just waiting to buy |

Posted: 04 Jan 2018 09:52 PM PST he is 29. so he met someone in high school and they went to college together and got engaged when they were 22. however, she cheated so they ended it. we had a big engagement party for their engagement. after that, my brother was heart broken and didn't recover. he was 26 and we were getting worried that he won't find someone so we would always convince him to go on dates and stuff. now last year, he got married. he knew the girl for one year and met her online. she turned out to be psycho and doesn't let him do anything. she checks all his messages, social media, phone, laptop. she is crazy. he wants to divorce her now after spending so much money on their lives together: new house, wedding, honey moon, etc. |
Posted: 04 Jan 2018 08:48 PM PST So my mom and I don't have the best relationship. And we always fight. She thinks I'm so disrespectful but she should be lucky how good of a kid I am I don't drink do drugs or wear inappropriate clothes or anything. We got in a fight Bc she was bad I didn't ask if I could have my friends over and she brought them home (I only had two friends over) and anytime my brothers are there she acts like the victim. So she came back yelling at me and my brothers both started attacking me. And like everyone was yelling at me. And the fight was escalating. And i called her a ***** and my brothers FREAKED out. And my older one grabbed my wrist and pulled me to my room and was screaming how disrelefcul I am and i told him I hated him and he literally hit me. IS THIS ABUSE? What should I do? |
Question: Why does my stepmother hate me? Posted: 04 Jan 2018 07:33 PM PST My brother and stepmom get on really well, she laughs at all his jokes and seems to have lots of fun with him. The thing is, she seems to hate me a lot. I will make a joke and she'll glare at me like I'm a waste of space, and my brother will make the same joke 5 minutes later, and she'll laugh her face off. Behind her back, my brother will say she stole our dad. How come she likes him so much, and hates me? |
Question: Is it normal for a man in his 20’s to be obsessed with 12-16 year olds? Posted: 04 Jan 2018 07:32 PM PST There's a guy in my neighborhood who talks about tweens and young teens like adults. He also thinks it would be fine if the government started making them legal adults. Also, this same man corners around parents with kids who are ranging from 12 to around 16. Is this just odd behaviour or is it alarming? I haven't heard him talk about this in a sexual way, just that he really focuses on these ages (but has no child/sibling at this age and isn't a youth worker) |

Question: Why is my dad so weird? Posted: 04 Jan 2018 04:47 PM PST So a couple days ago we were at the airport, returning home from Christmas break. We stopped to eat lunch at McDonalds, and my dad began singing "Old McDonald had a farm...EIEIO!" very loud. Everybody looked at him; what's worse is that he's wearing short denim shorts, which is very embarrassing. Also, on the airplane, my dad wore a girly tanktop and short denim shorts. When the flight attendant came to serve snacks, my dad asked for lots of beer. Also, when he went to the bathroom, just outside the bathroom door, he took ALL OF HIS CLOTHES off, and then he went into the stall, leaving the door wide open. He made lots of weird noises, and it was so disgusting that not even the flight attendants did anything. Finally, at one point during the flight, he took of his clothes on his stupid seat, and he propped his legs up on the seat in front of him, and he began farting really loud. Fortunately, me, my mom, and my siblings all sat separated, so we didn't have to be right near my dad. Why is my dad so weird, and what can I do so he will stop being such a jerk? |
Question: Why do I feel so jealous and how do I move on? Posted: 04 Jan 2018 04:21 PM PST Im 25 years old and i work for a major company I've been working there about 7 months. The director of our department is a nice looking man in his mid 40s well one day i confided in one of my co-workers that i thought he was attractive but ofcourse i would never act on it because he is also married with 4 children. Anyway i think that my coworker may have told him that i liked him because he started coming to our office everyday just hanging around staring at me and calling my direct line about work related issues every single day Which he never did any of that before. When he would call it seems like he wanted me to engage him in convo outside of work but i never did i kept it professional. And whenever he came around i would have an attitude with him and never flirted back. So i guess he eventually moved along. Now my manager is a 50 year old widow woman and he is now secretly talking to her now. She would tell us how he is now treating her to expensive restaurants and opening doors for her like a gentleman. I think she knew he had a thing for me which is why she was bragging about it in front of me And i now hear her on the phone in her office with him saying how much she misses him. Continued...My manager has now begun treating me badly and she calls me into her office to put down my work performance for the smallest things. I know he is a married man and i never had any intention on sleeping with him anyway. But i cant help be a bit jealous. He no longer comes to our office nor does he call my direct line anymore i guess to avoid an awkward situation with me and her. Why do i still feel jealous of this situation and what should i do to help me move on from this thanks. |

Question: My Mom ruined my childhood. How can I get her to see this so I can have closure at age 26? Posted: 04 Jan 2018 03:51 PM PST She had a messy divorce and it was not entirely her fault but I got used as a weapon by her to get my father, her ex, back. So my whole childhood I missed out on having a relationship with my Dad who is now deceased or his family. I have met his family now and they are polite to me but have little interest in getting to know me since all these years I was absent. |

Posted: 04 Jan 2018 03:26 PM PST Hi I'm a thirteen year old girl and I have an older sister who's always mean to me and she yells at me and I can never do anything about it cause I'm my family I can't talk back cause she's older then me by nine years and when I tell my mom she's yells at her but she's doesn't stop and if she swears at me and I yell back she'll start a fight with me and them my mom will yell at me for being rude to my older sister I can never do anything about it. |
Question: Is my mum overprotective? & how do I confront her about it? Posted: 04 Jan 2018 03:14 PM PST Don't get me wrong I mam, but it frustrates me that she gives me little to no freedom. - Bed @ 9:30-10:00 - No boys allowed in the house when she's not there, no exceptions (even my best mate who's a lad isn't allowed over without her) - No boys in my room (even if the door is open, or if she's in her bedroom next door. even if the boy is gay, so she shouldn't be worried abt us getting off) - Not allowed out after 6 - When I'm out I have to text her every 30 mins to an hour - She has to have ALL my friends mums /dads phone numbers, even if I'm just going maccies w them for half an hour. If she doesn't have their number I can't leave the house. - No swearing - Not allowed to fill in my eyebrows????? Not even to cover up this giant bald patch on my brow from when I overplucked - Must tell her all my plans days in advance, if she finds out the night before or even on the day itself she won't let me go - not allowed round boys houses without an adult being there. - Not allowed to meet new people I've never met before but know via mutual friends - Has to drop me off/pick me up at every party/ friendship gathering - She has to meet anyone who I hang out with before I am allowed them over She wraps me in bubblewrap like a baby whilst thinking I'm old enough to be doing dodgy things. All my friends say she's overprotective and it's actually gotten so bad that I've lost friendships bc people get annoyed at how they have to plan out any meet ups way in advance. Help me out pls :( |
Question: What would you do? read details? Posted: 04 Jan 2018 03:01 PM PST ok I was talking to my brother and he told me a story he said he didn't tell mom but his ex wife apparently would get hit with a belt if she didn't do what she wants for him but he also asked and you think living with me is bad? Honestly I thought he was telling me that just for talk but him using that against me makes me hate him more because if he did treat me like that I would call the cops and leave I wouldn't let him get away with it I'm this close to leaving already anyway there are other story's between me and him to so don't be rude to me I just ignored him though but it bothers me a little bit. |
