Question: Should I attend this wedding, if I get invited? Posted: 06 Jul 2016 07:20 PM PDT I have a female friend who I have a huge crush on, who I recently found out (via Facebook) that she just got engaged to her boyfriend. She lives over 500 miles away from me. Suppose I were to get invited to the wedding. Is it OK not to attend? My thinking is, why would I want to travel 500 miles to see the girl I wanted to marry, marry someone else? And then have to buy a gift on top of that. |
Question: Would a girl have the right to keep an engagement ring in this situation? Posted: 06 Jul 2016 07:11 PM PDT Suppose I ask my girlfriend to marry me, she accepts, and I give her a ring. A month later, I call off the wedding because I think she could do a lot better than me, and can't understand why she accepted a marriage proposal from a complete loser like me in the first place. Would she have the right to keep the ring and sell it for cash? |

Question: My brothers wife didn't ask me to be apart of the wedding ? Posted: 06 Jul 2016 02:26 PM PDT My brother and his fiance have been together for about 3 years ... We didn't get along much at the beginning of the relationship but a couple of months ago before they got engaged we spoke and just decided to leave the past in the past we work for the same company so we always go to lunch together and go shopping im confused i thought we had a pretty good friendship forming which is why i don't understand why she didn't ask me to be apart of her wedding party do you think that maybe she is still upset about all the drama and fights we had in the past ? There was a incident where i did try and hook my brother back up with one of his ex girlfriends but she told me she was over the pass so if she is over it why didn't she ask me to be apart of her wedding ? Should i ask her i feel like i deserve to have some type of part in the wedding since i am the grooms sister . |

Question: How to say no children at wedding? Posted: 06 Jul 2016 10:50 AM PDT The problem is that there is sort of a catch. There aren t many children in our families. I can count them all on one hand and the youngest is about ten. These children are in our immediate family and I do want them at the wedding. However, we are also inviting work friends and such, and I do not want their children at the wedding. I don t know how to say this without it sounding rude, but I feel there is a difference between close family and their children and friends and ALL of their children. I looked for examples online, and can only find examples for completely child-free weddings. Am I being unreasonable? How do I go about this? |
Question: Cheap engagement ring? Help!? Posted: 06 Jul 2016 10:28 AM PDT So first I want to start by saying that I love my boyfriend with all my heart. The only problem is that he wants to use the cheap ring he got me in high school as my engagement ring whenever he proposes to me. I don't want this because I feel that ring represents who we were and we've come such a long way since then. I feel less valuable to him if he just wants to use a cheap ring and not even bother trying to find one that I really like. Plus the ring doesn't fit me anymore and I'm not sure if it can be resized. I wear it on a chain necklace at the moment. Should I tell him that I feel less important to him if he doesn't get me a new one? I don't want to look like a gold digger here but I also don't want to be made to feel like I should just be happy I got anything at all because that doesn't seem fair. |
Question: Can my girlfriend and I do a joint wedding gift or not? Posted: 06 Jul 2016 08:32 AM PDT The invitation we got was addressed to both of us, this isn't a plus one situation. I was friends with the bride first, but we are all now friends and do "couples stuff" together. Do we need to give two separate gifts? Or a joint gift, but twice as expensive as the other gifts on the registry? |

Posted: 05 Jul 2016 04:23 PM PDT what do you all think? I have always been a respectful daughter. I don't smoke, drink, I don't go to clubs, I don't curse at my parents or any of the other things that most people my age tend to do. I had straight A's all throughout college, this past may I received a bachelors degree in communications. It just seems impossible for me to find a job. Ever since I lost my last job I haven't had any luck finding a new one. I honestly don't even go places or travel at all. But since I have been with my boyfriend we have been talking about trips to take, we want to travel the world because we realized life is too short to be stuck in one place. There is so much to see and so much to experience. We have been dating for a couple of months but he's been my best friend for six years. This is the first serious relationship I have been in. I have never introduced a man to my parents before. For some reason my mom does not think he is an adult because she keeps calling him "boy" even though he is 30. She always goes " that boy". I am 24 and I have never left my state except for that one time I went to Disney world with my family when I was six. My boyfriend bought me cruise tickets for my birthday and he thought it would be experience for us both. We talked to my mom about it together and she got heated. She told my boyfriend "We are a Christian family and we have certain morals to uphold. It's very disrespectful for an unmarried couple to go on a cruise together. my mom was like " how would you feel if you had a daughter and she was on a cruise with a man she wasn't married to" and he was like " Honestly if she was 24 I wouldn't mind, I would just try to talk to her about remaining safe while she was on the cruise but I wouldn't be able to tell her she cant go. I understand if you don't want your daughter and I to go on a cruise however. my boyfriend said he will respect her wishes and not go my boyfriend told my mom that he eventually wants to marry me when the time is right and she got mad and looked at me and said " you better not say yes. and you better not move in with him either" |
