Every year I see my dad for Father's Day. This year I saw my mom on Mother's Day. However it just so happens that the only time me and my girlfriend can go to the beach that weekend. I really want to go to the beach with her otherwise I would end up going alone and it would not be as fun. I was thinking I could visit my dad earlier like on Saturday or come during the week a couple times to see him. I'm not sure if he would be offended now I'm at the beach on Father's Day. What is your look on this? Am I thinking too much about it?

We are planning to remodel our kitchen soon. My husband always wants to have the best person available to do jobs like that. Since he does not know any contractors in the area he is going to ask me who the best person is to do the kitchen remodel. It is common knowledge in our area that the best person to do a kitchen remodel is my ex husband. Should I tell my husband that my ex husband is the best person for the job or just say something like, "Lets get bids and see who is the cheapest". All my gal friends tell me never to mention my ex husband to my current husband. Is what my gal friends telling me correct? My dad is actually insane. I have tons of stories but you'll have to trust me. Literally, once he called the cops on my friend of 10 years for kidnap (He said I could go & so did my mom. We were in the same town.) & then once we got home he called the cops on me. & That's one of many stories. My brother & I have a great relationship. He is 12, I'm 14. But ever since this big huge psychotic thing my dad did about two months ago he has been feeding my brother lies about my mom & I, sometimes in front of me (I yell that its not true & he just lies more.) One day I was feeling sick so I didn't go to my dad's (I'm forced to go by law unless I want to go to court) & my dad was fine w/ it but my brother came home so pissed at my mom and I he wouldn't speak to us for two days. I know my dad is manipulating him. He used to try and do it to me. I DO NOT WANT MY SWEET BROTHER TURNING INTO MY DAD. HOW CAN I STOP THIS MADNESS. All my brother does now, when we used to have so much fun, is tell me how great dad is & that I need to get out of my mood. My dad's whole family won't speak to him but they love my mom and come over & visit often. I do NOT like my dad, no one does. He used to be mad at me but now I won't tell him anything about my mom (he texts her death threats) so he doesn't talk to me much. HOW CAN I GET MY BROTHER TO UNDERSTAND BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE & FULL ON HATES MY MOM AND I? (everyone used to say how my dad was sweet like my brother but his dad was insane) sorry it's long & my parents are divorced. my mom knows what is going on & is disgusted by it but is not sure whether to go to court or not.

My husband and I are very generous when it comes to our family. It now feels like we are being taken advantage of, especially by my own Mom. Anytime shecomes to visit she expects us to pay for every meal when we go out. Never ever offers to pay or maybe even help with the tip. This used to not bother me but now it does. I'm asking on behalf of my boyfriend. We graduated high school together on Thursday (it is now Sunday), and his father has given him a week to move out. My boyfriend, who I'll call Ryan, is terrified and has absolutely no clue what to do. He saw this coming, Ryan has helped pay the rent and fed himself for a good few months now, but he didn't think it would be this soon! 1. He wants to go to college, and was considering a community college before all of this happened. He is too afraid now because he doesn't know how to take out loans by himself (obviously) and FAFSA won't recognize him as an independent unless he is deemed homeless by a homeless shelter (which we don't know how to do). His father and father's girlfriend have refused to pay for anything, despite bringing in around 80k a year. But they did just claim him as a dependent around tax time... 2. Ryan works at our local grocery store, working almost 24 hours a week. He still managed to maintain a 3.5 GPA. He'll probably be living with one of his friends for the summer, but if that fails he will have to rent something nearby (It has to be close because he doesn't have a car, and if he is able to finance going to college I will be helping to drive him as he will attend the same community college as me). BUT, he has never had a credit card so he of course has not built up any credit. My mother has said this could be a problem with people renting out rooms or apartments. Any advice you have is greatly appreciated! ALSO His dad is being decently civil. Allowing him to take his clothing and any documents Ryan might need... so despite possibly being a neglectful parent, we couldn't really file him for abuse... could we?

I used to think that his stories were a little too good to be true but I never thought anything until he started living with me and my mom and 11 year old sister. I'm 17, was homeschooled, my parents and family run a church (it isn't a "church", it falls along the lines of being a cult. I have a twin brother who has always been verbally aggressive and disrespectful towards my mother and I since early preteens. All of the women whom he's dated has allowed one after another to be just as disrespectful to our mother. Ten years ago I bought a brand new car and took it on many roadtrips with my kids. Now ten years later another new car and cant bring myself to do it because of the changes of family dynamics. Everyone else is fine but my Dad is an alcoholic. I got nervous yesterday and left a party when he was drunk. It was a party of 18 relatives and 22 others and all others were fine but my time was wrecked by my Dad being drunk. How do I get over this so to have fun with the others? I don't know if my dad is even normal. I'm sure he has some mental illness. He doesn't have any common sense and I'm starting to agrees with my brother that he's special or disabled. He used to ear my mom's food, but he started making his own food because he thinks it's more healthy. The only change I've seen is him become more fat and dumb. The smell is unbearable. So a friend of mine(my cousins current girlfriend) posted a job on our friends group on what s app where it was a job for a girl. So I replied as a joke that "I m willing to be a girl for 2 days for the job" it was a joke since I m a male and immediately after my cousin responds by saying Shotgun. My cousins girlfriend then asks the employer if a boy is fine for the job so the employer agrees with it. Then since she needed a response quickly she said "the first one to reply gets it". I replied first because my cousin was driving and I had the opportunity to respond. Now my cousin is angry because of his misfortune and now I feel bad.

I don t understand my dad. He has no common sense. I m sure he has a mental illness considering the fact that he had a accident and had to be checked 5 times in order for doctors to know his brain wasn t leaking. Everyone says that he is different and thinks weird. Ignorant crazy Animal who just ruins the family. He s u clean and makes bizzare food with bacteria.inever go downstairs and stay in my room because it s so unclean, he doesn t understand anything! I feel like he does this on purpose and when we talk to him (we ve tried many methods) he thinks I m not his daughter anymore or we want to kick him out. He makes no sense what so ever and I want to kms. He s ignorant and only listens to himself. He twistes up our words and I just hate him now. Should I take him to the doctors because he s out of control monster and I really feel like he has some sort of illness. Sometimes when I m at my friends house I wish I just had a normal dad who can actually function and understand others. Hello, my name is Jasper and I am a 21 year old male from the United States. In basic, I was adopted at the age of 4, after I was taken away from my biological mother due to her constant use of heavy drugs and alcohol, as well as abuse. I haven't talked to her at all in the entire time since then and it wasn't until the age of 17 that I even got any indication of who she was. She sent me a letter when I was 17, telling me that I was the reason she ended up in the position she did and that by her getting pregnant I made her risk her entire life by her trying to basically end mine in the womb. Her letter told me that I was her reason for doing all the things she did and that she would have been better off had I not existed and after the letter I hadn't heard from her again. Today, I came home to find her in my driveway (don't ask me how she found me), cussing me out, threatening my girlfriend. She was clearly drunk or high and she was slurring. I threatened to call the cops if she didn't get off my property, but she ended up passing out on me. I now have my mother on my couch still passed out cold, and I have no clue what to do now. I don't want to call the cops because I really don't want to be the reason she gets into trouble, but at the same time I can't have her doing this stuff because no only is it damaging to me as a person, but unsafe to those around me that I care for. What can I do to stop her and get her out of my life for good without making it a big scene?

I haven t been over to my homeland in 7 years. Since then, my relatives have been excited to meet me. We re staying in the country for about 6 weeks, but I don t think I can stand that long! I know my relatives love me, but I hate it here so much. It s selfish to complain because both the rest of my family and my relatives are extremely happy here, but I d literally die to get out of this place. It s very lonely here without any friends or close family ( like I said, I haven t seen my relatives for 7 years) and I can t stand the food. I have no freedom here stuck in this house and no privacy for myself. I can t even take a shower in privacy. My parents are ignoring me and won t listen to me, almost as if they re annoyed at me for being unhappy here. I really wish I could just die. It s impossible to get on a plane and fly 16 hours back to America right now. The fastest escape would be to die. Please help me. My parents won t console me and my friends don t seem to understand.

My husband was abandoned by his mom when he was 2. He was raised by his dad and aunts. For 20 years he never saw his mom until his younger brother died, she went to the funeral. I begged him to talk to her as he was always sad about not knowing his mom. He did and we had a good relationship for 2 years, but she gets really controlling and involved in our personal life. She called me a b*tch about 2 months ago, for a situation not involving her. She was babying my husband while we almost had a divorce and called me that for telling her that she doesn't even know her son so well. While my husband and I got better, I find myself hating this conniving woman more and more each day. She is so fake, she she tries to fool him that she had a birthday dinner planned for him, and that I said we were busy, when she really forgot his bday weekend and had absolutely nothing planned for him. I'm mad because I don't want to go to her house, after he nasty words to me, and her fake behavior makes me not want to go even more!!! Uughhh. What should I do? My best friend is a 16 year old girl who's been raised by a single father throughout her entire life. He was 18 when she was born, so he's only 34 right now. They're really close — closer than the average father/daughter (but not in a weird way). Although, I've been noticing one thing that seems a little strange to me. Coming from a large Italian family, we are always told to get married and have kids. For a while now, I've never seen myself as a family person. I could never really want to have children, or be married. I'd rather carry out my Grandfather's legacy and join the United States Army. Is this a bad idea?
