Posted: 05 Dec 2018 04:40 PM PST I will admit that I am a bit of an emotional person and I am moving from Illinois to Florida next week. I have some family here which will be hard to leave behind too, but I only have one true best friend here as well and we will be hanging out one last time before I move away. I want to write him a card thanking him for everything he has done for me over the years and as a way to say goodbye on paper. Of course we will be saying goodbye in person too, but I feel like I need to get my words out on paper, maybe to help with my emotions. Is it appropriate to write a card like that, given that I am the one moving away, not me writing to a friend who is moving? |
Question: How to stop being shy? Posted: 05 Dec 2018 11:37 AM PST So I'm 14 years old, I don't have any good friends, I don't have much of a social life or that much experience with life and I would like to have friends but I don't know how to make them? I don't know how to start conversations and I'm scared that I might not be able to keep one? |

Question: How do I repay my co worker for his kind deed? Posted: 05 Dec 2018 09:47 AM PST I unexpectedly had to work late which was a problem for me. My 15 year old daughter needed a ride home from school. I asked a co worker and friend Bob if he could take her home form school and he agreed. She had met Bob previously. He picked her up from school and was driving her home. He asked her if she had any food for dinner at home and she said no. He ask her if she would like to join him for dinner and she immediately said yes. She thought they might go to Sizzler. He took her to Ruth Chris. She told me it was the best meal she ever had in her life. She was so excited about the great meal she called me at work and told me about it. The next day at work I thanked Bob for driving my daughter home from school and especially for the great dinner they had. My daughter said beside the great meal Bob was a lot of fun to be with. I told Bob I would pay him for my daughter's meal. He said "No Way" would he take any money. He said I was happy to be able to help you. Would it be appropriate for me and my daughter to take Bob out for a meal? The problem we can not afford anything near as expensive as Ruth Chris. |
Question: Why is it so hard to find true friends? Posted: 05 Dec 2018 08:19 AM PST I'm in my early 20's. I can't seem to find a real friend. Somebody who I can trust and who isn't fickle. |

Question: Is my cousin being unreasonable? Posted: 05 Dec 2018 07:33 AM PST My cousin is a great artist, and I was so confident she would do this for me. Anyways, I wanted to give my parents a portrait of my brother and I, and when I asked her she agreed but she named a fee. She said I had to pay for it depending on size and materials and time. We're related... And she wants me to pay... Am I the only one that finds this unreasonable? If I were some rando or even her friend, I'd understand, but we're blood. Since we were kids she's always been a bit stuck up to everyone. She never wanted to play games, she just wanted to stay by herself and read and draw. I mean, yes, she's a professional artist but was it worth it? No. She seems bitter and unhappy. I haven't seen her face to face in years, but just from the way she talked over the phone, I can tell, she's not doing well and I think she's taking it out on me. |

Question: Never allowed to go out !! help !? Posted: 05 Dec 2018 03:10 AM PST I am 20 and in college. Throughout high school I was never allowed to go out, which caused some fights between my friends as well since i was the only one never allowed out etc etc. and i even invited my friends over many times so that way my parents can meet my friends. My mom always says no and I get compared to my cousins who are about 10-12 years older than me, they are now married n with kids. My parents always say that my cousins never went out and that i should focus on studying. Like how much am i going to study.. They always tell me they trust me n everything but i know they really dont.. and never let me build the trust or prove it to them. It just makes me wanna do things behind their back, but i clearly know better than that. Keep in mind i am indian, so that means no bf, no parties, clubbing, drinking etc. I am in nursing school and my classmates are a bit older than me and they always wanna go out clubbing or just for drinks, and i never know what to say to them, I dont wanna tell them oh im not allowed! school is honestly a lot less stressful then the social awkwardness i have to go through!! Anyone have any tips ? |
Question: Every time I use women for sex I feel really sad and lonely afterwards, why is this? Posted: 05 Dec 2018 12:29 AM PST Could it be my subconscious mind punishing me for using girls for sex and leading them on? |
Posted: 04 Dec 2018 11:34 PM PST I just say oh yea great. I don't know if I have some kind of inferiority complex, but I have problems talking to rich people, when they boast. Actually I also don't know how to talk to poor people who talk about how they got netflix now or some new chrome bumper. I try to change the subject, but my boss wants to talk about work, how rich he is, or how stupid x is. |

Posted: 04 Dec 2018 10:38 PM PST My coworker got an interview for a job in Ohio. We live in florida and he doesnt know anyone in ohio. He says if I am interested in moving to ohio I should apply with the company. I ask him if he seriously thinks I should interview and he says yes he doesnt know many people but he knows I am reliable. I tell him i cant because i have to finish school. Is it normal for a coworker to suggest to another coworker to move to an unknown state for a job just because they might be moving there too? |

Question: I need to make a vape? Posted: 04 Dec 2018 09:34 PM PST So i recently started getting into vaping and mine broke. This one was a gift from a close friend that recently moved away and I have no more. I need one and need to know how I could make one. I ve done some research but I am missing most of the important parts. I still live with my parents and need to go low under the radar. Any ideas? |
Question: How do I go about getting people to call me by a new name? Posted: 04 Dec 2018 08:58 PM PST So I ve decided to change my first name because it is foreign and I hate the way it sounds in english. Additionally, everyone mispronounces it (including my friends and even sometimes even I do). I have chosen my name, talked to my family and friends about it, and they are all on board. Although those who I am close to will still be calling me by my name, I still want to change it. So how do I go about people calling me a different name? Should I just introduce myself from now on to new people by that new name and lets those who already know me still call me my birth name? Or should I ask those who I am not very close to to change what they call me currently? How do I make it so that there is no confusion when people are talking to or about me? I am currently in college so I don t know how to go about it with my classmates with whom I share every class with because my major is very small. Any suggestions on how to make the transition as smooth as possible? Who (other than my close friends and family) should I ask to call me by my new name? Thanks! |

Question: How do you restore a friendship after rejection and denial? Posted: 04 Dec 2018 08:45 PM PST Recently, I told my best friend that I had feelings for her. However, she rejected me as gently as possible by saying she didn't feel the same way. Ever since, I cut contact with her, which was a big mistake. Over the last months, I have been feeling weak and depressed because I have a small inner friend circle. I want to pick up my phone and text her, but I don't want to seem desperate. She is one of my best friends and has helped me when I was depressed and down as hell. She defended me against my enemies when I needed her. Losing all of this has made me a worse person.. |
Question: How to deal with bad roommates? Posted: 04 Dec 2018 07:57 PM PST I just started my freshman year in college and my living situation has been bad. I live with 3 other guys in a dorm room and the place is a complete mess 24/7. I've cleaned up several times after them and they have it back trashy in less than 24hrs. They get stupid drunk and throw up all over the place, including on the toilet and I have to go to a friends dorm to use the bathroom. The shower smells like pee... so I think someone is literally pissing on the shower walls. They blast music and the TV really loud and screams while watching football or playing fortnite. We each have our individual bedrooms so I'm always trapped in my small room because I refuse to sit out in the living room with that terrible mess and smell. I discussed with them before about the mess and he just said they will "try to be more clean and respectful " which didn't happen. I have a very strong sense of smell like my mother so I smell everything, they smoke and they think having the shower on is going to stop the smell but it comes right under neath the crack of my door and vent which gives me a hard time breathing. And my mother has OCD so living in this has been a complete life change for me. Other than all that they are nice. The main two guys have a friend who comes over everyday so it's like it's 5 of is now.. The RA doesn't care so it's like I'm trapped and I'm not getting a new room this far in the semester. Please help I'm a shy guy and can barely talk to them about it. |
Question: I’ve been catfishing and I hate it? Posted: 04 Dec 2018 07:19 PM PST I was 13 years old, and i was on instagram and i joined a fandom. I talk to other kids with the fandom and they added me to a group chat. Everyone was showing their faces and stuff and they asked me if i can show mine, and i was so stupid and insecure and dumb so i sent a picture of an attractive kid at my school. Everyone complemented "me" and that boosted my confidence for a while. I made a whole new fake instagram acc using this persons face. Fast forward a year and we're all close friends. It's been a year and i feel absolutely terrible and disgusted at myself. I've been talking with these online friends who are all so wonderful and nice and don't deserve me at all. We've been telling stories and bonding. I tell them the truth about my life ( things i've been doing, things going on at school) and the only thing i've been lying about is my face. The guilt hurts so much but if i tell them, everything will be ruined. If i tell them, they could attack me, tell my "real life" friends that i've been catfishing them. If i tell them, my family and school could find out. In my head i've been avoiding telling them, and promising myself i won't send another catfish picture again. I've stopped sending pictures of the person I catfished so that kind of makes me feel better, but at the same time i'm still terrible. what do i do? |

Question: How do I stop being jealous of my best friend having other friends? Posted: 04 Dec 2018 06:20 PM PST I m not the jealous type and I am typically so happy when she makes new friends because the more, the merrier yk. I don t think I m super possessive or clingy either because I do have other friends and I m perfectly fine if she spends time with others without me, but ultimately she is my best friend. It s kind of hard to explain, but there are one or two people who will come up to us and start off with talking to both of us, but slowly shift to talking only to her and ultimately walking away with her, thus ditching me. |
