Question: What do you think of this wedding cake idea? Posted: 17 Oct 2016 09:06 PM PDT I was messing with photoshop cause I couldn't find what I had pictured in my head for a cake on the web. It is obviously a photoshop, but it gives the idea of how I want it to look. Just curious what your thoughts are on it? Do you like it? http://tinypic.com/r/bf04cz/9 |

Question: When sending wedding thank you notes how long do I have to send them? Posted: 17 Oct 2016 08:51 PM PDT People are sending wedding gifts a month before our wedding, do I have until two weeks after the wedding or two weeks from the day it is received to send a thank you note? |
Posted: 17 Oct 2016 08:49 PM PDT I have no problem sending thank you notes to both, I'm just not sure what the proper etiquette is. |
Question: My mom complains about my cooking too much. What is her problem? Posted: 17 Oct 2016 08:06 PM PDT You think that she would be happy that I know how to cook but she always seems angry and bitter when she sees me in the kitchen. I Clean up after myself and wash the dishes but she still finds something to complain about. I cook a variety of things on a day to day basis. I cook things like shrimp and grits, spaghetti, garlic bread, pancakes, bacon, eggs, maspotatoes, baked chicken etc. my mom never cooks, she goes and buys fast food everyday. I prefer home cooked meals so I cook myself and let her get the fast food for my younger brothers. She keeps complaining about how my food isn't healthy but she will go to Chikfila and Burger King and get French fries and nuggets. So I don't understand. Cooking is a hobby of mines and plus it's a lot cheaper and makes your dollar stretch farther. I wish my family enjoyed home cooked meals so I could have more people to cook for. I cook for my boyfriend a lot and he loves my cooking but my mom has even started complaining about that. She was like " you cook for him too much" and I was like " I enjoy cooking and plus he does a Lot for me so it's the least I can do" |
Question: How do you word an elopement party invitation? Posted: 17 Oct 2016 06:42 PM PDT We are eloping next month. We are throwing a party / celebration in March and plan to invite everyone who was not at our elopement. We want to make clear on the invites that this is not a wedding, it is a reception / celebration and not to expect an actual wedding. Any ideas on how to kindly get this message across? fiancée* |
Question: Is it acceptable to post a no-child policy to a wedding and reception? Posted: 17 Oct 2016 04:29 PM PDT We are planning a formal wedding. We are a childfree-by-choice couple and would prefer to not have small children attend the wedding or reception. Older children who know how to behave appropriately in that situation are fine; we are speaking more of smaller children under the age of 12 or so. Is it appropriate to make this request? It is our wedding and we want it to be our day. I should have clarified; what I meant to say, is that I've seen on some wedding/reception invites where it will say 'adults only'. I wanted to know if it is appropriate to post the 'adults only' on the invitations. |
Question: Does it look bad in front of family to get married at the court house? Posted: 17 Oct 2016 04:17 PM PDT My fiancé and i have been engaged for awhile and although for a while we considered having a big wedding, ultimately we have just decided to go to the court house. Part of the reason we aren't having a wedding is because I'm not good at planning things and neither is my mom or my fiancé. None of us have many friends to help either. We were originally thinking of having a small ceremony and then having about 20 people (close family) meet at a restaurant but now we realize that will just be too expensive and also the restaurant can't hold a reservation for that many people. It has come down to my fiancé and I just going to the court house next month by ourselves and having a close friend of ours take pictures. My mother may go too but there won't be any pictures of her with me because she doesn't want his mom to get mad she wasn't invited. My mom is very against the idea of inviting anyone from my fiancé's side because she's embarrassed and feels she failed as mother of the bride by not helping me plan a nice wedding. What should we do? Do you think anyone will frown upon just us two going to the court house and is it embarrassing to not have a wedding where we invite people? |
Posted: 17 Oct 2016 03:03 PM PDT My older and only sister just got engaged and is getting married in mid December and I wanted to do something really special as a gift. I don't have a lot of money or time. I have some skill in poetry and music, but I don't feel like that's enough. If it sparks any suggestions, I'm going to be a bridesmaid. I really love her and want to do/give something memorable. She's my first sibling to be engaged. We all absolutely adore her fiance and he's great with our dogs. Any suggestions? |
Question: Do u think ALLAH changes fates of people if people disobey HIS commands? Posted: 17 Oct 2016 08:55 AM PDT Well i had marriage proposal 1 year back which was a very good proposal except that the guy had to go overseas for phd for 3 years... im from pakistan and it was arranged marriage so i initially resisted and said to my parents that it might not be a good proposal and they should look for more .. well my parents agreed on proposal on condition that guy will remain in pakistan for inital time atleast .. they also agreed on that but i resisted again, my parents then decided to make me see the person .. well family meeting was arranged but people from guys side wanted to have engagement in same meeting ,my father disagreed.. well they became angry and the guy said he wanted to go to korea.. boys side were still willing but they said we can have engagement now and wedding after 3 years.. well the conclusion was that we rejected the proposal .. now for 1 year my parents are trying but there is no good proposal .. i have prayed to ALLAH and asked for HIS forgiveness. .does all this mean that i was destined to marry that guy but due to my resistance my luck got changed and and now ALLAH is testing me ? Or does it mean i was never destined to marry that guy and it were all ALLAHs will that i dont marry him?? Is all of this happening because i resisted and ALLAH might be angry or does all of this mean that i was never destined to marry that guy? I have prayed to ALLAH alot and asked for HIS forgiveness.. |
Question: Best wedding venue in Syracuse NY for a early November wedding? Posted: 17 Oct 2016 08:05 AM PDT Looking for a rustic barn style venue for an early November wedding in Syracuse NY Open to all ideas, whether rustic or not. Thanks :) |
Question: Cannot agree on first dance, help? Posted: 17 Oct 2016 01:47 AM PDT After five years together, we're finally getting married. My fiance had made it where it's all about me and such and when we got to deciding on our first dance, we cannot agree at all. He would get upset and I would get confused and when I mean by confused, I mean confused with his song choice. Diary of Dreams - The wedding. The song speak nothing of love, obviously it's the opposite. To him, he sees it totally different and I cant explain it even if I understood the slightest. What should I do? I don't want to be the woman that doesn't allow him to decide how he would like his wedding be, but his choice in song bothers me. |
