Posted: 12 Oct 2016 05:23 PM PDT Back when I started college, I had a friend that I ate lunch with often, but once I told her I couldn't afford going to lunch for a while, she didn't really have anything to do with me. Whenever she saw me after that, she would awkwardly ignore me so I cut our connection on social media and turned into a bit of a loner. I felt isolated and depressed until I chose to transfer to a different university after 2 1/2 yrs. I recently joined a sorority and now have an amazing group of girls to hang out with and they always tell me to invite them to eat whenever, but for some reason I'm scared to. I'm worried that I'll be too quiet because I'm not used to being able to interact with people and be comfortable outside of a classroom setting. I suffer from anxiety but I'm not sure if this is just fear or another kind of issue... I'm not usually like this at home, but I feel like my mood tends to fluctuate and this might make the others uncomfortable. I also feel like I'm making this more difficult than it really is---I know it's a lot, but I'd love some advice. |

Most of my friends that I hang out with graduated already and have begun their careers. During the week I am constantly doing school work and in class, obviously I act respectful, responsible, and considerate like a normal adult and I acted that way when I've held previous internship positions. I am very professional in the proper environments. On the weekends however, I always get together with my group of friends that I've been tight with since grade school. When we hang out, it feels like we are back in time to the simpler times in our lives. We like to go see movies, have catches with a football, swim, play video games, hike, and sometimes just sit around the house watching sports and joking around. We do tend to act a little more like kids during the times we are together but thats just the nature of our friendship. We are a bunch of fun loving guys who enjoy each others company. So my questions are, is it normal for young adults and maybe even some adults to act a little less mature behind close doors with friends/loved ones? Is it a bad habit that should be changed? |

Posted: 12 Oct 2016 12:11 PM PDT I m a junior in high school, decent grades, not exactly drug free, but I ve never been to a party before. I m not wealthy or anything but my house is a good size, with quite the backyard. My buddies and I were saying how cool it would be to have a party here like last week and then a few days ago ironically enough my parents for the first time ever said they were going out for the night and would be back the next day. I said i might be able to have a few people over, but I guess they took that as "I m having a ripper." Now it just kind of branched out and now friends are telling friends and there s gonna be like 200 people here and I have absolutely no clue what to do. I m shaking just thinking about it, I have two people who are gonna deal with us staying responsible, 4 people to clean up, and then a few bouncer type of dudes. I said nobody could sleep over and nobody could go inside but now everyone thinks it s inside because of my house and that everyone can stay over. At this point it s either go down as a district wide legend, or be a loser and cancel it for my own safety. On the way back her car started making noises and it turns out a hole was burned in the exhaust system (don t ask me exactly what s going on, I m no mechanic). She hasn t asked me to help pay for it but I feel like since I used her car just as much that week that I should throw in some money. Am I just being too nice or is this something I need to offer? People judge u for your nationality, clothes, personality and etc. I never moved out of the town before so Ik it would be hard. I knew my bestfriend since kindergarten and I m just not ready to move. I like it here. She said I m selfish but why can t we just stay. She has a job that would never change. My school would Change.. I m going to lose all my friends. I have to start over. I m heart broken. I m crying right now. It s not that easy. Why can t my mom stay for me. Should i talk to her? |
| Posted: 12 Oct 2016 11:21 AM PDT I have no "good" friends in real life. I have my friends who I don't see and just text. It gets a little lonely but I'm ok with it most of the time. I just don't relate to anyone at school or sports. I try to socialize and I just can't find my people. I find myself mostly relating to the people on YouTube and I wish there were more people like that out there in real life. What should I do? |

Posted: 12 Oct 2016 10:49 AM PDT There is this guy that lives across the street from my best friend (my best friend is friends w/ him) and I ve hung out with him once and my friend took me and her sister to his house to hang out and we hung out in his room with him & his friends and in the guys room him and his friends were doing free styling and they were trying to get me to do it but I m shy so I didn t do it and so afterwards him and his friend were just chilling in my friends garage and so he was telling me about how is dog past away and me being an idiot I didn t say I m sorry that he lost his dog so regret it now and so i started following him and his friend on Snapchat and Instagram then the other day he Snapchat-ed me and said "streaks" and so I did the same thing but I went to my friends homecoming and he didn t say hi to me or my friend and so almost at the end of the dance I requested a song for the D.J. to play (hips don t lie by shakira) and I have a talent that I can dance like shakira so my friend was encouraging me to do it so I did it and him and his friends were watching me do my dance move and they looked amazed but anyway yesterday I Snapchat-ed him with confidence and took a pretty selfie with the flower filter and said "streaks" and I saw that he looked at it but he didn t respond and I m so confused about the whole situation and I just want to know if there is a chance he likes me or if he s just being friendly? And is there a way to get him to start noticing me as more than a friend? |

This girl who I used to be friends with me walked behind me and said she would cut me all up and kill me cutting off my head etc. She said it twice and her eyes looked maniac and she looked serious. My boss is a 27 year old single guy that is the best boss ever. He always has time to answer my questions and help me when I need help. He is also the hottest and sexiest guy I have ever seen. All of the other interns are jealous to the max. One of them ask me how many times I had to screw him to get the job. Why is it so hard for them to believe that I got the job because of my qualifications? Another intern told me the only qualifications I had was 34G boobs. Since when does having 34G boobs mean you can not do a good job? Another intern told me men prefer to hire girls with big boobs so they can hit on them. Guys, is that true? I dress modestly and don't show off my boobs. I am not fat. I weigh 136 pounds. They are there and I can not do anything about it. Should they disqualify me from getting a good job. My boss has NEVER hit on me or flirted with me. It might be kind of nice to have a guy that good looking flirt but he doesn't. I think he thinks of himself as a father figure to me rather than being interested in my body. Why do the other interns think you have to have sex with a guy to get a job? |
