Question: How to tell my mom I need a break? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 01:06 PM PDT Im 13 and help my mom tutor little kids for work, I feel like I do most of the job since she is always playing games in a room and comes out only 3 times every 2 hours. I work 4 hours everyday including weekends and get paid $5 a week. I really don't want to do this thing anymore but I really need a break, how do I tell her? |
Posted: 03 Oct 2015 12:58 PM PDT My son is acting up in school so the mother doesn't let him spend nights at my house anymore on weekends due to his behavior I can come to her or her mother house is this right? Or am I ego tripping |
Question: I hate my parents (please please read)? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 12:44 PM PDT I'm 17 and my parents aren't even my friends anymore. I'm extremely suffocated because they are very controlling & overbearing & don't give me enough freedom. I've had several talks with them bc I want things to be different but nothing has changed. I sometimes get nauseous when I have to come home or even talk to them. They tell me they treat me this way bc they love me but at this point I'm think it's just a matter of controlling something in their lives instead of actually protecting me bc they care. I'm finding it hard to stay motivated in school, and my parents only talk down on me. My friends don't even like my parents. 3 weeks ago I was hiding in my room while my mom was cursing and slamming her fists on the door bc I was wearing "too dark of lipstick" and I was terrified. I was begging my friend to come get me but she refused bc she's scared of my mom. My best friend also gets mad at my parents bc I'm a good kid but they've always acted like I'm always getting into trouble. They've always been extremely suspicious of me but have had no reason to be until maybe now since I smoke to calm down. In the past I've caught my mom searching my room and my dad searched my things and found my diary, which he read. Running away and suicide have crossed my mind a lot lately. I don't want to even think about these things, but I don't know what to do. I work as much as I can to become financially independent ASAP but my parents don't even allow me to work as much. What do I do? |
Question: What is she to me? Can i date her? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 12:39 PM PDT So here's some confusing question for you guys. So my grandma has a "sister" and that "sister" has a "daughter" so basically that "daughter" is my mom's "cousin", right? My question now is can i date that "daughter"? Im 26 and she's 21 and we kinda both like each other. We never had sex yet! But we've touched each others private part while kissing. |
Posted: 03 Oct 2015 12:35 PM PDT Most find me too needy for visits (not money or favor needy) and over time the reputation built up since as a kid I was very needy. My grandmother who used to hang out with me died last year and my grandfather died when I was little. My father has also died and he raised me single (my mother abandoned me and her family never wanted to meet me because she wasn't married). How can I get over this as it hurts so much. |
Posted: 03 Oct 2015 12:35 PM PDT I m 16 and pregnant nearly 17,I m having a really hard time at home my brother has jut recently passed away in April and my dad and sisters have moved back in with us but it s a 3 bedroom and my 2 little brothers have a room and I have my own but I constantly argue with my dad and I feel like I don t want to be hear anymore I need to move out but I m scared of being on my own and my mum sticks by my dad side no matter what I just can t do nothing anymore. |
Question: Is it normal that I want to cuddle my mom sometimes? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 12:32 PM PDT I'm a 16 years old teenage girl. I know that I have to become an adult and stop being my mom's little girl, but sometimes I just want to be able to snuggle and cuddle my mom. Whenever I hug her I wish I didn't have to let go, ever! It pains me, on an almost physical level, to end the hug. When I was a child, I used to crawl into my mom's bed and snuggle with her for hours. I miss that so much! Do I REALLY have to give that up in order to become an adult? If yes, I wish I didn't have to. My Mom is the most important person in my life. How easy it was to show her a few years ago! Sometimes, I just want to throw myself into her arms and say "Screw being an adult, I AM you child and I always will be. What am I supposed to do? Is it normal to feel this way? |
Posted: 03 Oct 2015 12:26 PM PDT Kid is 10 years old. Note: I am NOT the single mother posting this. |
Posted: 03 Oct 2015 12:21 PM PDT I'm never allowed to go anywhere or do anything because my mom and dad are nuts and "might kidnap me" I am 15 and I want to go places with my friends. I think I just might go anyway. I hate my life so much, I am not allowed to live the life of a normal teenager. |
Question: When can I move out? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 12:21 PM PDT I'm having trouble being able to stand my home life. It's beyond stressful. My parents constantly yell at me and argue with me. They don't allow me to talk to my biological father, or talk and meet the three sisters I have But never knew about till recently. They are starting to not let me see my significant other any more who I need to see or this stress deeply effects me even more. They hardly let me do anything and they get mad at my simplest easy to fix mistakes. Theres so much more that I wouldn't have time to talk about... Anyway. I have a job interview tomorrow. If I get this job or the others I got calls from I'll be able to support my self. But I could also live with someone on my biological fathers side.. I want to leave. is it legally possible for me to just up and move? |

Will i have also see his dad walking past my house with his dog...and when he has seen me he smiles and talks to my step dad somethings..ether hes stalking or just neighbor friendly..is he stalking me? and why? |
Question: Hey Family Values Conservatives:? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 12:18 PM PDT How do you THEN explain away the family value man himself, Newt Gingrich, DIVORCING his 90 lb. dying wife on her hospital bed, telling her that he's getting married to someone else??? Decent, compassionate, caring, All-American great guy, eh? |
Posted: 03 Oct 2015 12:01 PM PDT Because of fears, frustrations, and insecurities, my mom has attacked my husband with endless judgments despite his constant respect and kindness towards her, until finally she snapped the last straw and he yelled at her, and left home while she she stayed at our home. When she left, he acuses me in hurt of being "ok" with him being the one to leave instead of making her leave, as she insulted us in our own home. Please help me, I want to die. I begged God to just take me. I don't want any more pain. |
Question: Turns out my sister-in-law is a prostitute? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 11:51 AM PDT I was downtown driving late last night, when I thought I saw my sister on the street. I circled back around the block, and sure enough, it was her. I approached her, and she seemed shocked to see me, and flustered while answering my questions. Basically, she told me she had accrued some debt that her day job doesnt cover. She's at risk of being thrown out of her apartment. She insists she just started prostitution, but I'm not sure I can believe her. She says she hasn't told anyone, including her sister (my wife), their parents, or even her fiance. I feel like I need to say something, at least to my wife. Except if I do, she will be asking me what I was doing downtown late at night, and I don't want to discuss it with her. Should I just let this situation go, and hope my sister-in-law comes clean on her own? I feel there are better ways for her to be making money, other than prostitution, which is one reason I want to tell the family, in order to help her out. But I'm also concerned she may get an STD or something, and pass it on to her fiance. She's putting him at risk by doing this, and he has no idea. |
Question: Would you call this diva behavior? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 11:48 AM PDT My mom was about to cook for me and she asked my 26 year old sister if she wanted some food, too. My sister said no, but that she wanted to cook something else, so my mom stopped preparing my food and cooked my sister's food first. She claims it's because she doesn't want to have to rewash the pan, but 1. She said multiple times before that she doesn't cook for my sister and that she has to cook herself, yet she just cooked for my sister. 2. There's another pan (one that my sister always uses to cook). 3. We all wash our own dishes. I was running on an empty stomach for 1.5 hours before my mom cooked for me whereas my sister was only awake for about 20 minutes before she got her food. So I got mad because of all of this. I understand that I should just be grateful that my mom's even cooking for me and I am, but that doesn't mean her actions and what I believe to be unfair treatment is okay. Would you call this diva behavior? What are your thoughts? |
Question: Is it okay to call customer service to appologize for rude behavior? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 11:35 AM PDT Earlier today, I took the SAT, but when I got there, no one was at the school and I couldn t get in. I was told to be there about thirty minutes early, so we waited, but no one came. I started panicing, and my father reccommended I call the SAT question-line or whatever. I calmly asked about it, and the guy on the other end answered kindly enough, but then my father interjrcted angrily about what "bad service" we were getting or whatever, even though he had absolutely nothing to do with it, then he hung up the phone. I felt really bad for this and I wondered if I should call back to appologize to the guy because I feel like my father ruined his morning :( |
Posted: 03 Oct 2015 11:32 AM PDT I'm being treated worse than my stepsister by my father She's my stepsister who is much younger than me. By the way I am 13 and she has a diamond necklace and diamond necklace and I don't. She has diamond earrings and I don't. She goes to these plays in New York City every week and I don't. She gets professional pictures taken of her and I don't. She only sees my dad on the weekends because my dad and her mom split up. I tried talking to him but he won't listen. What do I do? And don't tell me I'm jealous cause I am and I have a reason to be. He is still in love with my sisters mother and she isn't rich so that isn't why and my father wants nothing to do with me. I am so mad. |
Posted: 03 Oct 2015 11:04 AM PDT Well, a couple days later, my Grandma was angry with my Grandpa, she was very moody towards us, I was messing around, and she told me to stop being a boy, and be lady-like(she is EXTREMELY Old Fashioned) when she left, my parents looked at me, and I said Highway to the No Fun Zone. I love my Grandma, but she can be a kill joy when in a mood. |
Question: Weird vibrations from MIL how do I over come all this? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 11:00 AM PDT Inlaws are staying for 2 weeks. In short I feel as if the mother is controlling and rules the kitchen. This morning I ask..can I make you some pancakes? (with a smile)...she says, "no, why?" so I just shurg and walk away basically. Am I over thinking this? or she is just a witch?... |

Question: How can I keep on going in my life? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 10:44 AM PDT I just want to know if someone can give me anything positive about my life because sometimes I do think of just ending it. I'll tell you my life story. So anyways, I was born normally with a mom, dad, and older sister who is 9 years older than me. My family was happy and I do not want to sound like I am bragging but we did have a little bit over average in money. Then it went downhill in 2012, I was 10 years old. My mom was fine she was happy until she started getting head aches and eventually fainted at one point. My dad took her to a hospital and turned out she had a brain infection. They did surgery on her and she fell into a vegative state until to this day. We eventually turned really poor and sometimes it's a miracle when we get to have three meals a day. My sister has been the one taking care of me, she works, still goes to college to get her degree. My dad has been working trying to support our family while still being able to visit my mom twice a day for the past three years. Then there is me. Everyone assumes I'm fine. But they don't understand. I lost my mom at 10 years old. Last year, I fell into depression but no one knows. Til this day I either lock myself in the bathroom or bedroom and I cry, pleading to god to give me back my mom, my life, and to please tell me everything is going to be fine. But it's just been going worse for my family. I am a 13 year old girl, who is extremely shy, and is depressed. Can someone tell me anything postitive to help me? |

Question: Why is my dad such a big hypocrite? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 10:16 AM PDT I respect my dad but whenever he does something bad/wrong and I call him out on it, ie cutting is fingernails right in front of me as I was eating, he always tells me to stop back talking and raises his voice and tells me not to be rude. Then I'm just sitting their like wtf, u r doing all the things u told me not to do and then he gets more pissed off and either grounds me or demands an apology when he is in the wrong. I'm almost 16 and this **** is getting really old. I'm a good kid who has never done any drug, gotten in deep trouble and I have over a 4.0. Despite all this he still treats me like **** in situations where he is in the wrong. I almost always admit when I'm wrong but why can't he??? Thank you |
Question: Why does my mother act like a child? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 10:13 AM PDT This is always something I've noticed since I myself was a child, that she's very childlike and has a bratty attitude. Not always, but, has a tendency to throw fits like she's a bratty toddler. If someone takes something that is hers, like her iPad for example, she whines and goes "That's MINE." Even if she isn't using whatever it is, when someone else has it, she suddenly wants it and throws a fit until she gets it. She does this in public, too. Once we were getting on an airplane and a girl in front of us put her bag down in my mother's seat for probably 5 seconds so she could adjust the strap on her backpack. Instead of just waiting those measly 5 or so seconds, my mother blurts out "That's MY seat!" in a whiny voice. The girl just looks up at her, probably half her age, and says "Oh, sorry." I think I was the most embarrassed. This happens a lot. How do I deal with it? She embarrasses me and my family. She's 50 and acts like a 5 year old. |
Question: Do you think my dad has anger issues? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 10:04 AM PDT Hi my name is Holly, I m 17 and live in Tennseee. I love to listen to music and go to school. I like it better at school then I do at my own house. Ever since I was 16 my dad has been a real dick and it gets on my nerves. I have had a rough life with drama threw the past 4 years. So what my dad has been doing is when we go to town he will always complain about the traffic or if someone is walking across the Parkin lot he will say move you idiot. And also I next get any freedom what so ever but when I do I just go to the football game with 2 of my friends. I am a good girl don t do drugs but wish my dad wansnt a dick and just wish I could have more freedom. I mean I m 17! He also got onto me this morning for my cat being on top of the box for the tv. But I was in my room and didn t know anything about it and he got mad. Then yesterday day he was in a bad mood when I got in the car. |
Question: Do you think this is fair? Did I do something wrong? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 10:02 AM PDT So, me and my sister got in this small argument (i guess you could say? It wasn't really an argument or a disagreement. More a misunderstanding). After about 30 seconds of QUIETLY TALKING (meaning we werent yelling or anything of that sort) then my dad starts yelling at ME. I quickly shut up, as im a "goody two shoes", while my sister kept talking to me about the situation. I began to apologize to my sister and say I was just confused and I honestly wasn't trying to be rude, then guess what happens? My dad YELLS AT ME FOR APOLOGIZING! How do I get yelled at for me and my sister both having a misunderstanding. Then I get yelled at for APOLOGIZING! And i know it was directed at me because he said my name. Why didn't my sister get in trouble for carrying on the discussion when i got yelled at for apologizing? I'm not the person who tries to get their sibling in trouble. In fact, if i do when im not trying, i feel extremely guilty. I'm just completely confused as to what i did wrong that my sister did right? Im scared to ask my dad, because I did before and he thought i was being cocky and he said "its over. I dont wanna hear it". Im not upset i got yelled at, im more upset because i dont know what i did wrong and I don't want to do it again. Any help is extremely appreciated and I can edit this question and explain the misunderstanding if you find it hard to answer the question with that piece unknown. Thanks in advance! Xxx |

Question: My mom is obsessed with my daughter? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 09:36 AM PDT Don't get me wrong, I'm glad she likes her granddaughter, but it's a little excessive. My mom had me when she was very young, and I was completely raised by my grandmother. My mom didn't even come around until I was about 10, and even then she wasn't around much. She's never really done anything for me. When she found out I was pregnant she had a very negative attitude about it throughout the whole pregnancy. But after I had my daughter something changed. Today my daughter is two years old, and shes constantly buying gifts for her, and face timing her (we live in different states), and talking about her on her Facebook ALL the time. She's even saying that she's going to move states so that she can be near her granddaughter. I've lived in a different state than my mother since I was 8 and she never wanted to move states to be near me. I guess what I don't understand is why she wants everything to do with my daughter when she wanted NOTHING to do with me when I was that age. |
Question: Can My Friend Run Away and Not Have Anything To Do With Her Current Family? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 09:21 AM PDT My friend ( who is 15 ) is being verbally abused by her parents, and she's cried several times now. It's gotten so bad that not only has her mother physically abused her, but her dad may begin. Her dad wants her to leave, but says if she does, he's sending her away to a foster home in another state. Is there anyway she can get placed into another home and have it so her parents won't be able to send her away? She's afraid to do anything... |
Question: Should I be forced to meet my dad's girlfriend's parents? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 08:40 AM PDT My dad wanted me to meet up with them last night, even though I already had plans. I was late to come home to meet them, and my dad went ballistic and told me that I was grounded. I don't even know why I have to meet them. It's not like I have any relation to them. Isn't my dad being so unfair? |
Question: Is it normal to have a unstable relationship with my parents as a young person? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 08:26 AM PDT I am a 25 year old guy, and my relationship with my parents for the past 10 years has been extremely rocky. Everything went to hell of course once I hit puberty, and we fought all the time. Went to college on their dime, screwed up, then lived at home for a couple years from 21-22 while working. At 23 I moved back out while working, and after a couple years of growing up and gaining more experience I've started to understand things from their point of view. Our relationship is on the mend, and I feel that they were right about so many things i was too blind or foolish to understand. Was the period of feuding normal though? I feel like a lot of times children and parents are lucky to still be on speaking terms with each other after the child's adolescence. |

Question: I think my sister has a crush on me? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 07:44 AM PDT I'm a 16 year old guy, and she's a 15 year old girl, so we're basically the same age. Lately she's been acting super weird. She's always finding excuses to touch me. Like she'll slap me playfully a lot, hug me, play with my hair, etc. It's weird. The other day I was sitting on the couch watching TV, and she's comes in and sits on me. She also goes on my phone a lot and tries to read my texts to see if I talk to any girls. This one girl and I are good friends and when my sister saw that I was texting her, she goes "ewww why are you friends with her. she's so nasty" We have three bathrooms in the house, and when I'm taking a shower she'll bang on the door and beg to come in to "brush her teeth" or "go pee" because the other bathrooms "gross her out" when she's used them before. I'm super weirded out. What do I do? Forgot to add, we were playing spin the bottle with friends a few weeks ago, and whenever the bottle lands on someone of the same gender (since we're all straight) we either just kiss the person on the cheek or spin again same w siblings. So, when she spun the bottle on me, I thought she would just spin again. Instead, she goes "whatever we'll just kiss i don't feel like spinning again" and I thought she meant on the cheek. So, I lean in and wait to be kissed, but she kissed me ON THE LIPS. |

I ve noticed that he has started to begin puberty and I want to talk to him about all of this stuff because I know my parents won t. I never was told about any of this and I want my brother to know that what he s experiencing is normal. We are not super close but I m hoping that talking to him about this and letting him know that I am there for him could make us closer? Any advice on how to have and approach this conversation would be appreciated! |
Question: How to convince my parents to let me drive to school? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 06:57 AM PDT I got my license this past Tuesday and I have been asking my parents all week if I could start driving to school within the next week. my mom just flat out said no but my dad said he needs "reasons". I know they trust me to drive to school because they both say I'm really good with driving and let me drive by myself before so experience isn't a problem. I try to show I'm responsible by keeping up my grades and doing what I need to to do at home, but that doesn't seem to be enough. I've given my dad plenty of reason like being able to get to school early enough for physics tutoring and Since basketball season is coming up I won't have to wait 3 hours after to practice for them to come get me like I did last year. I am also looking for a job and have been for the past 4 months so they won't have to pay for gas or anything. and when I get a job I'll pay for my own gas and I'll pay them back for the parking decal I'll need. I don't know what else I can do to convince them! any advice? |
Question: Does my mom truly love or care for me? I'm 21 and I feel unwanted.? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 06:13 AM PDT My parents provide me with food, shelter, tuition fees, and allowance and I'm grateful for that. But my mom makes me feel unwanted and worthless. She favors my younger brother over me. She makes me do most of the chores and acts like I have an obligation to do them. When I talk back, she gets mad and upset but when my brother does, she keeps silent. She boasts about my brother to relatives and friends and she hardly talks about me with pride (that's prolly cause he does a fancy degree and I don't). She reminds me of my failures and teases me about them, making me feel worthless. Once my grandpa told me to try applying for PR jobs in multinational companies and my mom smirked and said "as if you ll make it". As for my brother, she hopes he can make it into one of the biggest firms here. I have thought about leaving home but I come from an Asian family and it's not something I can easily do. I don't even have a job to support myself. What should I do? |

Question: So embarrassed of how I acted with boyfriend omg help? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 05:44 AM PDT My boyfriend and I went to his dad's beach house, (we were on a break, our school schedule makes no sense.) It was really fun. The sex was amazing. I amped up his surfing skills. Everything was going well. So, I have post traumatic stress disorder. My dad, and his friends used to touch me. That was about 5 different people. It was between 5-10. They all went to prison for different rapes, but not mine. At 12, I Befriended a man in the apartment over, and thought he was nice, but then he stripped me down and put it in. When I was 14 my boyfriend was also sexually abusive, and I got pregnant. I wanted to keep it, but he threw me down the stairs. When we were sleeping, I thought my dad was coming into the room, so I woke up screaming and kicking, "Stop, stop!" And I cried for pretty much the whole night, he was nice about it, I offered to go to the living room and he didn't want me to, but I'm really just so embarrassed help. |

Question: My nan died and I have nowhere to live!? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 05:09 AM PDT I'm a 38 y.o. man and until a couple of months ago lived with my mum in our house. Long story short she got a new boyfriend and forced me to move out. I moved in with my Grandma as I can't afford my own place, but she died last week, and now I'm going to have to leave because she lived in assisted accommodation. I've begged my mum to let me come back but she pont blank refuses to. My sister lives abroad and my brother refuses to talk to me. I've been trying to track down my dad but my mum won't give me any information to find him because she says she's not going to let me just go and "scrounge off him instead". Why is everyone being such a dick is beyond me. I'm really stressed out and I'm not going to have anywhere to stay and I don't know what to do! |
Question: Weird Family Situation; I need help!? Posted: 03 Oct 2015 01:32 AM PDT So I living with my parents (I'm an adult) and I was really already wanting to move out because they both have emotional issues associated with their depression, anxiety and bipolar that would make it very uncomfortable for me to live with them and I was just staying because I did not want to leave my dogs. Well my mom stopped working so we had less income and now we got evicted from our home. Now that we were technically homeless we had to turn to my grandparents and they willingly took me in but they were upset because my parents had known about this possibility for a year and even their bankruptcy lawyer encouraged them to start packing because she knew we would lose the house and my grandparents offered to help us pack. Now that my parents procrastinated and left me in the dark, we had to throw away some belongings and lock them in storage. So currently my parents and I are arguing because I told my mom that she has not contributed to the family and that they're the reason I'm in the mess because no one told me anything nor gave me a chance to help. Despite my grandparents wishes, my parents are currently still in their home. They stay locked up in one room with our 2 dogs and do not let me see them. I am so stressed out because the place where my belongings are locked up at is under my parents' name and they won't talk to me so I don't know how I am going to retrieve them and they are having a difficult time making payments on the storage fees. |

Every time we babysit her oldest(12) and youngest(5) are good but her 9 year old is mean. Question: My sister in law and her son are in a tight spot. Does anyone have some good advice? Posted: 02 Oct 2015 11:47 PM PDT my 19 yr old sister in law and her 2 year old son are so close to being out in the street. I fear that the son will wind up in foster care. I don't want that for obvious reasons and for the fact that I was in foster care and know how much it sucks. The wife and I are 27 finally starting to get some headway in life and know that taking care of this kid would probably set back progress at least a few years financially. The ex husband is abuseive and irresponsible. We could probably late my sister in law stay with us for a spell. I know that it would be much longer than that though. The problem is that x hubby wouldn't have it because they're in mi and were in az. X probably doesn't really care but wants to be an azz any way. What do l do |

Question: What can I do to show my parents I truly appreciate all they have done for me !!!!!!!!!!? Posted: 02 Oct 2015 10:07 PM PDT My parents are the most hardworking human beings I've ever met. Before my parents immigrated to NY, my father was studying to become a neurologist & my mother a nurse. Now my father works as a bus driver and my mother works in a nursing home. My father always wished he could have accomplished his dream of becoming a neurologist but because there was terrosism at that time, school was closed for a period of time so he came to the US to finish but problems arose. I dont like asking my parents for money so I make sure to always have a job and be able to buy the things I need or want. Anyways,my parents always stress the importance of education and earning a college degree which Im glad & i got a year left to finish university & then Im of to grad school to get my license for physical therapy. I do buy things for my parents from time to time but I want t do something special for them. I was going to treat my parents out for a really fancy dinner but my mother always says we have food at home. This one day, my mom was washing the dishes while I was having breakfast. As I turned around to make conversation, I saw her staring out the window, lost in her thoughts. She looked sad, worried, like she was about to cry. She didnt even notice me looking at her; it just made me feel sad. Sometimes, I'll see my mother sitting on the couch, when shes not working, just deeply thinking. What are some things I can do to really show them I care and appreciate all they have done for me?PLEASE HELP |
Posted: 02 Oct 2015 10:00 PM PDT I just saw a video on facebook among several where parents think it's hilarious to film their little demon spawn abusing the family dog or cat, and they think this is so damn hilarious. I don't think any animal should be put down because some little ***** kid that is old enough to know better abuses it. If anything, the parents should be in trouble and the dog should be taken away and given to a family that will appreciate it. This just pisses me off. |
Question: What should I do for my parents?!?!! HELP : )? Posted: 02 Oct 2015 09:48 PM PDT I go to university full time and work on the weekends.I got a year left until I graduate & then Im of to graduate school to get my physical therapy license.I dont like asking my parents for money so I make sure to always have a job and be able to buy the things I need or want. Anyways,my parents always stress the importance of education and earning a college degree which Im glad, Im almost about to finish uni. Before my parents immigrated to NY, my father was studying to become a neurologist & my mother a nurse. Now my father is a bus driver and my mother works in a nursing home. My father always wished he could have accomplished his dream of becoming a neurologist but because there was terrosism at that time, school was closed for a period of time so he came to the US to finish but problems arose. Question: Poll: No one in my family cares about me what should I do? Posted: 02 Oct 2015 09:39 PM PDT Growing up as a kid I would hang around with my moms side of the family which is Mexican. One of my cousin would make fun of me because I was an over weight child not that much over weight but over weight I guess. He would make fun of me. I remember as a kid I would see my cousins and that side of the family a lot. Now I don't see them at all I am 19 now btw. None of them talk to me. I don't go to party's or anything because they don't invite my mom or anything like that. I recently tried reconnecting with one of my cousins which was a girl but she would ignore me and say she's busy. I kinda got tired of that because she would be on snap chat pairing things when she was at home doing nothing . I told her it's okay I know you don't like me I'll leave you alone. We haven't talked since . I was always outgoing as a kid but as a kid going through bullying through elementary , middle school , and high school I because the anti social girl hating people in general and thinking everyone hates me and there's something wrong with me since people hate me so much. I was bullied for my weight , acne , and everything else. I am skinny now and am into my looks but I'm not vain though . Idk why my family hates me so much that they don't want to talk to me at all. Any advice ? Because I really lost faith in people and want to be a loner because it's easier that way . |
Question: Do I express my feelings to my parents? Posted: 02 Oct 2015 09:32 PM PDT Growing up for me was tough. My dad never really cared, rarely said I love you, never talked to me about anything, and essentially just neglected me. In recent years on family gatherings, he gets drunk and makes fun of me (I'm a little heavyset and sensitive at times). My mother always said she loved me but again, she was neglectful. She never showed much expression, just the words. She never knew what I was doing or where. Basically my parents were and still are irresponsible. Now, at the age of 18. My dad tries to talk to me but everything he says is pretty much just about himself. My mom and I rarely talk to each other and she constantly teases/harasses me. Rarely does she ever say I love you. My older brother has always been more respected, while my younger sister was always more loved, etc. I've always been the outcast of the family. Even my uncles tease/mock me. The only person(s) who ever really cared about me or showed me any love were my grandparents. My parents give me gifts and stuff for holidays but they present it more as an obligation rather than legitimately caring. Either that or they think love/care is based on gifts/money. I want to present them with my true thoughts/feelings but they never listen. My mom refuses to believe that she's ever wrong and my dad's aggressive/violent. So what should I do? Please give legit answers, don't be rude or negative. Please realize that this is very personal. |
Posted: 02 Oct 2015 09:23 PM PDT My grandmother is uptight and I'm sick of abiding by her rules. I want to be like my mother and sneak out. Should I? I can honestly see how my mother turned rebellious. My grandmother keeps the reins too tight, it's hard not to want to do something else for a change. Should I sneak out? I'm kinda scared... |
