Question: How do I utilize my popularity towards my advantage? Posted: 04 Jan 2019 05:04 PM PST Living in New York and being a very extroverted businessman myself, I have a wide network. But what I want to do is 'utilize my popularity', A lot of what I have done is bring people together for entertainment and amusement purposes. I can't, however, bring people from different crowds together. For example, Anna invited me to her show in Brooklyn, I can't invite Terence and his friend James because I know they won't really mingle in that vibe. I want to invite Miranda to a party, but I have to effectively bring her to a place where she can feel within her tribe. Now I have hung out one-on-one with friends. But I do like it when I'm the one who just connects people together through my events or other people's events. I know people in LA, South Florida, Canada, London, etc... My job when they come to New York is to further my attachment with these people and sort of utilize them. Another problem, however, is that when we become too attached there can often be negative consequences. Another problem is when two friends of yours split and you are sort of stuck in the middle between who to give more priority too. How do you do it? how do you navigate through your network? How do you keep away from disasters and reap the benefits? |

Question: Uhh so i accidentally touched a girls boob? Posted: 04 Jan 2019 01:08 PM PST I am a girl also and I am straight asf. me and my friend were hugging each other cause we haven't seen each other for a long time. But i accidentally touched her... u know what... only for 2 secs. I quickly pulled my hands back and I was like "omg! what did I just do!?" she acted like nothing happened. I think my other friends noticed at they were talking bout it. and my other friend said "oh no! she would never do something like that!" and I realized they knew what just happened..... o-o Should I be worried or.. what I look like a creep. |
Question: How to talk to people?? normally? Posted: 04 Jan 2019 01:07 PM PST it doesn't matter whether i'm talking to someone online or in person, but it's especially bad in group chats/group situations. i never have anything to say, nothing interesting or fun or exciting or whatever i just stand there and my mind is completely blank. and when i do say something i instantly regret it and i feel like nobody really cares what i have to say at all. it's usually barely acknowledged or brushed aside and i feel like an idiot for even trying to contribute to a conversation where everyone else knows each other and can actually talk like a normal person. i feel like i can never fit in with anyone except a single person, and even then i sometimes feel like that they want to stop talking to me, or rather would talk with someone else, or just don't like me. i try to be as nice as possible and with friends i like to make people laugh, but i'm terrible with advice and trying to be helpful in a situation and it makes it worse when people come to me for help. i want to help them but i feel like i can't. whatever i say just gets thrown back and i don't know. but i never go to others with my problems i just keep them to myself. is there anything i can do to,, not be so awkward and just have things to talk about? to feel better anbout talking to people? |
Question: How to escape awkwardness in class? Posted: 04 Jan 2019 12:51 PM PST I have most of my classes with my friends, but one class I have is extremely awkward. I used to talk to 2 people who sit next to me, but one of the people ( a guy) was a player and ultimately things didn't end up well, I got emotionally hurt and I told him I was annoyed with him, and now we ignore each other completely. The other person, a girl, was my "frenemy" last year. We would hang out but she'd be jealous of me having more friends, good grades. or having relationship success. This year she's gotten more passive aggressive and spiteful and this year she completely lashed out so I Stood up for myself and now we ignore each other as well, except for the occasional eye rolls. These are the 2 people that I incidentally get to sit next to. Our seats are assigned and the teacher won't move us around. It gets extremely awkward when there's silence and free time to talk to friends, and those two people talk to each other while I awkwardly sit there, straightening my papers or finding some little thing to do. I'm not allowed to use my phone in that class or to do other work, so I don't know what to do. I do sit near another guy who I've befriended but he often isn't in class so I'm left awkwardly again. What should I do? I have to spend almost an hour feeling really uncomfortable as they joke and laugh and have a great time. They both used to complain about each other to me but now they seem to be best friends. I just want to walk into class with a smile. |
Question: Is there some problem I have not thought of? Posted: 04 Jan 2019 12:43 PM PST I am a college student with a VERY limited amount of money. I needed a place to stay that is as cheap as possible. A fellow student told me to check out a place that might let me trade off work for a place to stay. I was met by 2 fairly attractive women who looked to me to be in their early 40s. They showed me the room in their home and it was great. For free rent I had to do several things. I had to keep the yard mowed. This would be no problem for me. They told me they were both gay and asked if I had a problem with that. I told them no problem. I was not gay but it was fine with me it they were. They told me I would see them in various states of being undressed around the house. Some times they would have no clothes on. I told them that also was fine with me. I could not imagine how any straight male would object to seeing women with out any cloths on even if they were gay. The last condition for the room was that a few times a year they needed a male escort to the country club for dinner and parties. They said they would pay for everything. This seemed like a great deal for me so I plan to move in next week. Am I getting in over my head? Is there some problem I have not thought of? Any advice would be appreciated. |
Question: She’s open to hanging out with me but wont text me back anymore? Posted: 04 Jan 2019 12:29 PM PST So this woman who told me she's interested in hanging out but not dating doesn't text me back anymore. She told me the only way to get to know someone is by hanging out with them. She said she doesn't like friendship being confined to texting in so many words. I can understand her not liking texting but now she doesn't text back at all. Last week i asked her if she had a good Christmas and she never replied. I know texting isnt as personal as face to face communication but it's convenient. I like her as a person and I'd like to hang out with her but I'm shy. I haven't socialized outside the house in a long time. |

Question: Is she sad because of me???? Posted: 04 Jan 2019 11:53 AM PST My name is Wayne, i work in a hospital and for the past year ive known this girl Maria, me and Maria became really good friends. I would make her laugh and smile everytime i saw her. I would go to her desk and we would talk for maybe 10-15 mins. I have a small crush on her but i just wanna be her friend since she's married. But recently we were getting close and closer as friends. But soemone reported Maria to her manager, because she spends her whole shift talking to me ( when thats a lie) her managers told her she is not allowed to talk to me anymore or her job could be on the line. She deleted me from facebook 2 weeks ago because she doesn't want people to know we are still talking. My friend told me that Maria looks soo miserable sitting in her desk, she used to smile all the time and apperantly her personality has changed alot. She told my friend that " she wants to talk to me but right now she has alot of heat, so she wants things to calm down before we can speak to eachother." Does she miss me??????? We used to talk all the time, but now we have to act like strangers. |
Question: I need 30th Birthday Surprise advice. Can you help? Posted: 04 Jan 2019 11:38 AM PST I plan on throwing a 30th birthday surprise for someone special. They like to eat, spend time with family and friends, drink and socialize. My question is, when is a good time to invite people? When is a good time to plan? Do I wait until 1 month until the event? Do I get advice for someone close to this person to see if they would like it? |
Question: I want so much to be his friend but i'm afraid. What should I do? Posted: 04 Jan 2019 11:37 AM PST I'm [21F] & 3 month ago I met a wonderful guy. One day I went to a new place to eat during lunch break with a few other coworkers & I met J who was a waiter there. We started going everyday there. J is a great guy. He would make jokes, tease me & do everything to get my attention in a friendly way. We would talk with him for 1 minute when arriving there & another 1 minute before leaving. After a few weeks, I started to like "his attention" (not him as a person). Especially when my coworkers decided to change restaurant & I started eating everyday there alone. J would do everything to make me feel less lonely. He would come like 100 times to my table to make sure I'm okay or to ask if I need anything. Also, forgot to mention that I have a medical dietary restriction & J would make sure every day that my meal was not cross-contaminated. In a very short time, I can say that I love him like crazy (as a brother) & want so much to be his friend (outside his workplace).I appreciate J a lot & everything he does for me. The way that he tries to make me laugh. He doesn't do that with his other clients. He makes me feel so good. I can't describe it. I feel that I can trust him unconditionally & he would be a great best friend. I always dreamt to have a big brother & I feel that [J] is the big brother I never had. The problem is that he is engaged. And I'm afraid to ask him to be my friend because I can make him or his fiancée feel uncomfortable. I want to invite him for a coffee. But he works 7 days/week & it's free only in afternoon. What if he says "no"? I'll be devastated. I'm afraid he will think that maybe I have a crush on him or smth & this is not true. Afraid that, if we become friends, one of us will eventually fall in love & ruin the friendship. Can a girl & a boy be best friends? I don't see him as a potential boyfriend. Is it possible that J already has feelings for me? I met him last time 27 Dec. & won't meet him until Monday. I told him that I have a few days off work & won't be going where he works & he told me that he will miss me a lot. I missed him too but again in a friendly way. Is it wrong to be friend with an engaged men? I don't want to ruin his relationship. Girls who are in a relationship/engaged, is it okay for you if your partner get a new female friend? How about you guys, what would you do if you were J? Should we be friends? I know it's very long so thanks a lot guys!!! |
Question: Is this an example of saying one thing and saying a completely different thing? Posted: 04 Jan 2019 09:34 AM PST My friend, who I'm no longer friends with, said my crush was with a group of girls at a restaurant which he wasn't he was with his guy best friend and his family (best friend family) then my friend changed it to that he was with his guy best friend and his family.....I feel she's saying one thing and saying completely different thing? |
Question: Why is my friend so off with me? Posted: 04 Jan 2019 08:46 AM PST He has told me over and over that he is not gay. I have started seeing someone lately and have started to bring my partner out on nights out with us etc. My friend has commented on us kissing and holding hands when out and is sulking with me telling me to tell the truth about my new partner. I have told my friend that he is only a friend at the moment and nothing is serious as of yet. I went for dinner a few nights ago after this with my friend and he was sad and silent at the meal. It was really awkward. When I dropped him home he told me he was really sad in general and told me he wants to spend more time with me now. |
Question: Problems with Best Friend and Myself? Posted: 04 Jan 2019 08:37 AM PST I haven't been the best during the year of 2018. I do struggle with depression and I've had countless times where I've tried to take my own life away. But I'm not saying this to receive sympathy. I'm mostly here because I want to fix my relationship with my best friend. We've been arguing and haven't been in good terms after she started turning from my friend into a therapist. I insult her and I think of it as jokes but of course it probably wasn't. I've seemed to just become afraid because I don't want to lose her. I thought I was fixing things with her but it hasn't really been working. I need to change but I don't know how. I just feel lost and maybe it's because even if she tells me to not do something a million times, I unintentionally do it again. And when she gets upset about it I apologize. I'm really grateful to have her support me for almost 2 years now, but this has been going on for a while. And I'm not here to say that this is either of our fault. I want tips or something that could help me become a better person and to continue being that best friend for her and continually support her. I realize I should stop joking with her because it seems as though my jokes have turned into insults. So please what can I do to change and help this relationship to be better. Thanks |
Question: Should I invite my Friend with benefits? Posted: 04 Jan 2019 08:25 AM PST So my friend and I are going to celebrate our b-days and she and my other friends reaaally want me to invite my, well he is essentially a friend with benefits. He and I have been 'seeing' each other for almost a year now and they want to meet him. However I just think it'll be awkward. Any advice? |

Question: What should a guy do for a girl when she's sad ? Posted: 04 Jan 2019 07:08 AM PST My friend is feeling really upset right now she said she's worried about her boyfriend she hasn't heard from him in a couple weeks. She's worried it might be like what happened with him last time he left her didn't tell her. He said he wasn't gonna do it again but she's still worried. Thus is my best friend's younger sister she's had a crush on me for years she's always been afraid to talk to me this time she's not. I would go out with her but I'm married also having a baby in a few months. I gave her a hug told her that I'll always be here for for her since she's also my best friend. I let her cry on me for a while. How else can I help her feel better ? |

Posted: 04 Jan 2019 06:12 AM PST My parents are very strict and I rarely get to see my boyfriend unless we're at school functions. He has a lot of free time and instead of staying at home he wants to have fun. One of our friends who happens to be gay and him have been friends for a couple years but not that long. Because she's not really busy either they both hang out often and I can't because I'm grounded. I want to go see a movie with him because we both want to see it but I won't be ungrounded for a week so her and him are going to see it together and that makes me upset. He promised me he'd go see it again with me but that doesn't feel the same. He doesn't understand why because they're sucj good friends but every time he talks about the fun they have together I get a pit in my stomach and I don't know what to do. I'm extremely jealous because she is rich and has a lot of freedom. I worry that he won't want to hang out with me because she's more fun or like I'm going to lose him because he's always with her. I don't want to control who he spends time with because he should be able to have fun but I wish I didn't feel so jealous and he hung out with more guy friends and not just her. I also am almost 17 and I'm working on getting my license and he can't drive yet but she can do it's easier for them to do stuff |
Question: My mom saw me masturbate (maybe) told her friends? Posted: 03 Jan 2019 11:37 PM PST I was in my room last night, and was masturbating with headphones on. My room doesn't have a lock, but the door was closed and my mom and her friends were downstairs. Right as soon as I was finishing up, I thought I saw something in the corner of my eye and my mom quickly exited the room saying that she was just picking up a lightbulb (we store them in my closet). But what she said was, "Sorry, the other lightbulb wasn't working -- I didn't see anything!". What did she mean the OTHER lightbulb? It sounds like she came into my room, got a lightbulb, found out it was dead, and came in *again* to get a new one? I'm super frustrated she would come in again especially since she likely saw what I was doing the first time? Also, after she left I listened to what she and her friends were saying and everything was super quiet downstairs but I heard whispers. Do you think she told them?? I'm super embarrassed, angry, etc. Do my theories sound accurate to what happened? I didn't see her much today because she went to work. Thanks. |
Posted: 03 Jan 2019 11:16 PM PST I was at the salon and my male hairstylist was making it obvious staring at my chest, and he also touched my knee with his knee when he was sitting and he didn't move his until I moved mine. Im female. |
Question: How do I move on from my past? Posted: 03 Jan 2019 09:23 PM PST I'm having trouble moving on from a troubling memory that happened a little bit ago. I don't know why, but I can't seem to move on and the guilt keeps me up at night. I'm currently a sophomore in high school, and I made this friend as a freshman. He's a senior, and he was such a good friend. The entire school likes him because he such a nice, funny, genuine guy. I was so sad when he graduated because he made my freshman year really fun. I was so happy he thought highly of me, and I wanted him to remember me that way, even after graduation. He came back to surprise my class a few weeks ago, and I was so happy to see him. However, I'm bad at expressing/conveying my emotions in general. So even though on the inside I was super happy to seem him, I don't believe I showed it very well. I was super awkward, and things didn't really feel as they used to. I just kept saying the wrong things. And now he's gone off to college on the other side of the country, and I'm scared his memory of me has tarnished. I wish I could've done something differently, said something differently. I was relieved that would remember me nicely after graduated, but now I'm haunted by the fact that he probably doesn't know and that he thinks I'm not going to miss him. I just want him to remember me in a good way. And now I don't think he will. How do I move on from the thought that he doesn't think highly of me anymore? And that I won't ever see him again? |

Question: How did you find your group of friends? Posted: 03 Jan 2019 08:22 PM PST For my case, I was technically a lonesome high school student that did not bother to do that much in school. I always focused on the mindset that academics are always superior than finding new hobbies or joining clubs. Sadly, I did not realize the consequences until end of my junior year, meaning, I barely have any friends. Now, I am getting jealous seeing some of my classmates posting pictures on their social media of them attending music concerts with a large group of people (some in which I never knew they would become friends with in the first place). To cut to the chase, how did you find your group of friends? Was it through clubs? Sports? Hobbies? Or was it just by luck that you met someone and that led to being introduced to many others? |

Posted: 03 Jan 2019 06:35 PM PST I haven't talked to them in a while, and when I tried hanging out, it was very awkward. I was too scared to talk since I went into one of my friends girlfriends house, and I was humiliated by my one friend when he said "I don't talk much" to his girlfriend. She was only talking about how I didn't talk much, even though I talked to my other friend for a little. My social anxiety went through the roof when my friend bashed me on a post that I made that he didn't like, and it was on my whole group chat. I want to die right now because school isn't any better and I thought winter vacation was going to be fun, but it was just as s#!77y. 😢🔫 |
Posted: 03 Jan 2019 06:17 PM PST I'm keeping there names hidden for personal information. Okay let me explain, so i have a group of friends, we can call the three boys J and W, S and the two girls K, G. I started to notice K got really angry and jealous when I'm around W or J, and G gets jealous when I'm around K or S. I found out that all, yes "all" like me (I'm female btw) and they are all my great friends but I don't want to lose them and I don't know what to do. I'm just really stressed, I can't hurt them but I want to just stay friends. |
