| Question: How do I make friends? Posted: 01 Dec 2016 05:29 PM PST I'm a 17 year old female student who has severe social anxiety and I am depressed and have been prescribed meds. I have tried everything I can think of. I talked to strangers, people around my college, people that live near my house, I joined clubs, went to this room in college where you can meet others like you and that didn't work. I am so unlucky when it comes to making friends. All these people weren't interested enough to become my friend. I even gave my number and got theirs in exchange but they rarely text me back. I am devastated. It feels awful when I don't even have one person to talk to. I eat my lunch in the girls bathroom in college because I have no one to sit with and can't sit on my own out of the fear of people staring. I have tried to solve my anxiety. I am a very self conscious person. I tried the college counsellor which didn't help at all so the doctor recommended me to another professional, he prescribed meds and self help books. Please help me find friends. I've tried websites and people online but only guys seem interested and they just want hook ups. I don't know how people have so many friends. They go to parties, concerts, movies with friends. I went to a concert with my brother and then my mum, I see movies with my aunt or cousin. Not that there's anything wrong with doing that, I would just want the experience of going with friends. Thanks |

Posted: 01 Dec 2016 05:01 PM PST Me And my friends went to guidance to handle bullying issue because in gym class he is making fun of the way we play sport and making fun of my best friends clothes. I told the guidance person to only call my friends down because I'm afraid of the bully and when he came down it was not good. Just as I expected he was rude to my friends and the guidance counselor I knew exactly what he was going to say when my friend told me he said It. He is in our gym class on Monday and I'm afraid he will retaliate against me. He is the type of person to try to get back at you non-stop and be rude. He is pretty big me and my friends who went to guidance are all about the same height and he is about 6 inches taller. My friends and I are pretty tall but he is tallest one in the class. He is in seventh grade and already growing a mustache! I'm very scared now and I don't know what to do! I don't know why a boy would pick on a bunch of girls. Posted: 01 Dec 2016 04:58 PM PST (All teenagers involved) So, My best friend dated this kid for about a year, but they had been broken up for over 6 months and she is dating someone else, claiming to be totally over her ex. I had just gotten out of a relationship I was in for about a year, and the guy I was with had been cheating and hurting me, but I was naive enough to stay so long after he kept doing it. But my best friends ex boyfriend just happens to be a really close friend of mine, and my recent ex boyfriend hates the kid. I asked him to go off on my ex (who had been on and off talking bad about me to everyone, then begging for me back, and overall being annoying, and blocking didn't work, as he would just make new accounts on social media or have my friends talk to me for him) and pretend we were dating for the minute. I hung out with him, asked him to take a picture of us kissing (a quick peck only) so I could send it to my ex, to get the message across since he still hadn't left me alone. I wanted to make my ex understand that not only did he lose me, but how bad it hurt seeing him with other girls. Yes, I understand how childish and petty it was, but it seemed to be a good idea at the time. The picture somehow got back to my best friend, and she is extremely mad at me, saying I'm fake and I stabbed her in the back. I have tried explaining to her what it was and that it wasn't what she thought but she refuses to listen. I feel horrible about it. Should she be extremely mad at me? am I a bad friend? |

Posted: 01 Dec 2016 04:51 PM PST Hello, I am a 16 years old in high school, I watch a lot of Anime, Play a lot of video games and I listen to undertale and anime soundtracks all day, basically I am a nerd, and I am not a kind of guy that stands for himself, but I try and it never works out, just because I don't want to fight because if I fight I will not land a single punch on my opponent and I will get knocked. people who I call my friend are very different from me, they think anime is for kids,every time I play a Final Fantasy game on my phone (excited for FFVII remake by the way) they think I am a weirdo and worst of all they try to start a fight with me because they know I can't fight, so I always back down. It is not like I want to be friends with them, it is just that if I don't hang out with them, I will have no table to eat during lunch time. I know what you will say, " But, you can always make new friends". the thing is I don't get along with other people, I don't know I to make friends and I might be annoying for them for the following reasons, I always talk about anime, I am terrible at telling jokes (what do you call a cow with no legs, ground beef). Posted: 01 Dec 2016 04:51 PM PST This is actually about my best friend, who is in his mid-late teens (not an adult) and is beautifully creative. I think I should mention that when I say artist, I don't mean that he draws. I mean that he has the mind and nature of an artist.. unbelievably creative, curious, and different. Anyway, he's very depressed these days because he's trapped in a life solely committed to school. His parents make him do nothing but homework all the time and make fun of him when he picks up creative hobbies like art and music because they'll "never get him money" and therefore, "never make him happy". He's also never allowed to see his friends. Realistically I'll say (though as much of a cliche' teen thing it is to say) that friends are important to health. He only has two friends, not just two close friends and some acquaintances, I mean two friends and that's all there is to it. He doesn't talk to anyone in his classes or in his marching band, partly because he can't relate to anyone in anyway (not just in interests, but in conversations, relationships, values, etc). !!!! HOW does he make a compromise with his parents that'll make them both happy? It's good that they care about his future, but they must understand that he needs some time doing things he LIKES for once, and he needs to be with people he loves. This is all just a very short version of this situation, but there's no way I could explain it all. I guess I'm just desperate, but I don't know where to go from here. |

Do they have friends who help pretend that they have been cremated or if they wanted to bury the body wouldn't they consider using a closed coffin than an open one in order to let their "mourners" know that "theyre in the box" ? And how what would be your "cause of death" ? for a funeral consisting of an open casket wouldn't they have someone like a really good artist to make a very convincing dead look alike of themselves such as a wax dummy or mannequin ? |

Posted: 01 Dec 2016 04:44 PM PST I'm 19 and have Asperger's, and though it's a mild form of Asperger's one of the traits I have with it is awkward/poor socialisings. I get extremely nervous in new situations (such as a new job or class) and for the most part don't put myself into the conversation (there's been several times where I stand there and though I'm part of the conversation I don't actually say anything and if I disappeared people wouldn't notice). In my uni class everyone seems to be getting to know each other quite well and the only person I've gotten to know so far is my housemate (who's also in my class). I'd usually sit alone if my housemate isn't in class because I can't bring myself to go up to a group of people and start talking to them, and I also feel invisible in class (like I'm sure most people only notice me now because I did a presentation in class a few weeks ago). How can I beat this social awkwardness and be more confident (believe me it's a lot harder than it seems) |

I was shy in elementary and middle school, but now i'm in high school and i'm not as shy - but the problem is, I'm horrible at talking to people. When I was in elementary school I could actually keep a conversation, but then in middle school it was getting harder for me. My first two years of middle school weren't too bad, but then in 8th grade I became depressed and was extremely anti social. After always being inside and not talking to people - unless at school for about a year, I'm in 9th grade now, and no longer depressed, but I stress out when I talk to people because I literally cannot keep a conversation. Even with my close friends and family, I stutter when I talk, and I don't even know what to say after they talk to me. My friends joke around a lot, and I always try to tag along with them, but then I say something that doesn't even make sense. While someone is trying to talk to me about something I always stress out because my brain is trying to think of things to say next. Also I stress out if I say something wrong or awkward because if I do, I feel like the person i was talking to thinks i'm weird or something - i'm really sensitive when it comes to that kind of stuff. I feel like I can't keep a conversation with the "cool" people because i'm scared i'll say something wrong. I can't keep a normal conversation with any guys, and not even girls! I'm tired of being stressed when I talk to people |

He had cheated on me over the course of a little under a year. My best friend ended her relationship with a guy about 6 months ago and she is now happily with someone else. So I asked my best friends ex (who is my very good friend) to come over and take a picture kissing me so I could send to my ex, who had been begging for me back. It was one kiss and only done to, I admit, childishly get back at my ex. The picture got back to my best friend and she's so angry at me, telling me I've stabbed her in the back and betrayed her. I have tried explaining it was only to be petty and get back at my ex and that she shouldn't really be so upset since it didn't mean anything and I feel horrible for it. He thinks the world revolves around him. It's literally all about him. ALL THE TIME. He zones out when I talk to him but expects me to listen to every single word he says. He thinks he can do anything and get away with it. 2. He genuinely doesn't care about my feelings. He constantly steals food and other little things from me, does things I told him to stop doing, asks me to do impossible favors for him, interrupts me, and even made me break up with another friend because he didnt like her!! He even watched me cry and said "whatever stop being so sensitive" 3. He always has to be the center of attention. for example, when a teacher asks for an answer to a question but I don't wanna answer because I'm shy, and I tell him "well I know the answer is ____ but I don't feel like answering haha" and then he ignores me and raises his hand and says the answer proudly as if he came up with it. He always steals people's ideas. He talks loudly and makes up stupid lies just to get people to notice him. So basically this is a very very very toxic friendship that's taking toll on my well being, and I know I should break up with him but 1. He's very smart like not in an academic way but with people. He'll probably do something terrible if I break up with him. 2. He doesn't have another best friend and I don't wanna leave him alone. What do I do help?? |

They have been saying that I am stupid and that I am a hypocrite and a racist which I am not. The problem is my cousin knows these former neighbors. My cousin and I don't get along and she has told them private conversations and private secrets that I told her when we got along. Such as I went to a psychic and she told me I needed a cleansing which I didn't believe. I moved in my recent neighborhood about a year ago and everyone starts laughing at me and calling me stupid because these former neighbors have told them to start a fight with me. I don't know what to do because everywhere I move they are going to know where I live because of my cousin. I love my aunt and I have told her about my cousin but she doesn't believe her daughter could do this to me. My cousin will know where I move because my mom talks to my aunt everyday and she is family, I couldn't keep my address away from her. People in the neighborhood always making negative comments without even knowing me just because of my former neighbors gossip and the conversations I have had with my cousin before. I was laid off my job in June and when I told my aunt about it , my cousin told my former neighbors making my recent neighbors now I didn't have a job and now they make comments at me like get a job. I saw a funny picture that said something like "only hoes can relate" and I sent it to her, thinking she'd find it funny too. We make fun of each other about the subject all of the time, so I truly didn't perceive it as a big deal at all. She went along with it and agreed with the picture, but then later asked me if I was joking. I, of course, said yes, but then she was quiet the rest of the day at lunch. I decided not to push it. Come two days later, I heard from my best friend that Tracy was talking to our other friend about the situation. Tracy said that she couldn't tell if I was joking (even though I flat out told her that I was) and that she was going to leave the picture on iMessage unanswered to "show Camille what she did". Honestly, this pushed my buttons. The joke was no different from what we regularly tease each other about. I'm upset she didn't say anything to me about it and the fact she was bothered. I can't really text her and ask about the exact situation because it would then be obvious my best friend ratted out on Tracy. However, I really want to talk to Tracy about it because she isn't talking to me, she's actually avoiding me in the halls, and talking behind my back. My daughter was really bothered and had spent hours trying to find something for her friends, especially her best friend. I think this is lovely as she has never been very popular and I'm pleased she's beginning to become closer to people. My son on the other hand isn't bothered about buying presents for his friends, but thinks that he should get whatever money I give his sister as it's 'only fair' and he should decide what to do with any money given out. Firstly, how much should I let my daughter spend on her friends? (She has 2/3 friends and a best friend)? And should I give my son the money he wants? |

Posted: 01 Dec 2016 12:48 PM PST I'm a fourteen year old guy and I'm the tallest person in middle school with 6'2 feet. However, my best friend is kind of bullied. We met a 13 year old guy today and he was the rudest and worst 13 year old I've ever met, I honestly wanted to beat him up, but I obviously didn't :) He was the worst bully to my friend yet. Yesterday the 13 year old told a guy in my class who got in trouble for hitting my best friend "Beat him up! Take as many reports untils he's dead!" I used to look at my best friend being bullied. But today I changed myself by walking up to the 13 year old and tell him "Leave me and my friend alone... Or something will happen!" Nothing specific, maybe just reporting him. "What will happen...?" he asked but I didn't got the chance to answer. "I'm gonna call my mom and we are gonna report you!" I slightly paniced but pretended like nothing and walked away. I called my dad and told my teacher about what he did and what I did. And I'm gonna be fine while the 13 year old will get in trouble. |

Sometimes when I think people are talking to me I look at them/ respond and they end up not having been talking to me. But it's so hard to make friends when people think I'm rude or don't care about them. :( |

| Question: How can I be more social? Posted: 01 Dec 2016 12:15 PM PST Before you ask, I am far from introverted. Well, maybe I am? I don't know. When confronted by people I'll be fully conversational as long as the other person will actually put some effort into the conversation, I get honestly annoyed when I'm trying to talk to someone or they are trying to talk to me and there's seriously no topic. I mean, with close friends I don't have a problem because we are free around each other it doesn't matter. But in situations where the other person who isn't my close friend just doesn't make much more effort? Yeah then I get annoyed, not awkward but annoyed. Some friends will say things like "you need to get out more!" or "wow ant-social much are we?" but I always laugh even though it's true I don't take offense to it, nothing really told to me can offend me. To me other people are just, I don't know how to explain it...incompetent? That sounds like the word I'm going for, anyway yes to me the human population is incompetent in my view point of any conversation that interests me. If I didn't force a laugh or smile at things I'd be considered more than likely weird, also might I add I am the pure definition to most people as the "fake friend". Wouldn't be surprised if everyone just leaves over time, but life is life isn't it? I just, I want to change my attitude to a more up beat and social aspect. Any suggestions or things I can do? I'd rather just stay home and not talk to anyone so I won't piss anyone off by my words and just read. Help please? |

Posted: 01 Dec 2016 11:52 AM PST I have former neighbors that continue to follow me were ever I move just to spread malicious gossip about me. They have been saying that I am stupid and that I am a hypocrite and a racist which I am not. The problem is my cousin knows these former neighbors. My cousin and I don't get along and she has told them private conversations and private secrets that I told her when we got along. Such as I went to a psychic and she told me I needed a cleansing which I didn't believe. I moved in my recent neighborhood about a year ago and everyone starts laughing at me and calling me stupid because these former neighbors have told them to start a fight with me. I don't know what to do because everywhere I move they are going to know where I live because of my cousin. I love my aunt and I have told her about my cousin but she doesn't believe her daughter could do this to me. My cousin will know where I move because my mom talks to my aunt everyday and she is family, I couldn't keep my address away from her. People in the neighborhood always making negative comments without even knowing me just because of my former neighbors gossip and the conversations I have had with my cousin before. I was laid off my job in June and when I told my aunt about it , my cousin told my former neighbors making my recent neighbors now I didn't have a job and now they make comments at me like get a job. I am tired of people making comments or knowing about my life. What should I do? |

Someone I work with one of my bosses actually and I flirt a lot at work. We are close too very friendly. Coworkers think he has a crush on me, he might I kinda ignore that but I don t know. He gave me his # but I never gave him mine and I m still not in his phone. He isn t getting my texts (phone company told me it s true messages not getting to him he has iPhone I don t ) and I called once he didn t answer. I got whatsapp for another friend and I saw he was on it. So I sent a message. It said it was delivered and He s been on whatsapp but it isn t showing the message was read and no reply. I don t know if I should tell him I found him in whatsapp and messaged or wait see if he writes back. I don t want things to be weird between us at work. I just want to be friends the phone # was just for texting something to me he has to show me not work related but can t go into it. So should I bring it up or leave it be? I ll see him Monday that s when I would say something. |
| Posted: 01 Dec 2016 11:25 AM PST So one of my friends is trans and her father didn't agree with it, so he kicked her out with no time to prepare or anything. So I decided to let her move in so she wouldn't be homeless. Not too long afterwards I realized I couldn't continue living with her because she has a very bad attitude and very little respect for those around her, including me. So I gave her a heads up with about 4 months notice that I wanted to move out and I wasn't taking her with me. Her reaction as with most things was very bad, saying I'm going to make her homeless etc. So I agreed to give her more time and sign another 6 month lease. But since then she has become increasingly more disrespectful and irrational. Lying to me about almost everything like her income. It's obviously not a smart idea to sign another lease with someone like that. Anyways, the whole situation is a huge horrible mess. It has effected my everyday mood, my motivation, and my work (which is really bad bc my income is based on sales.) Today I have to break the news to her that I am moving out in 30 days. I am really worried about what she will do. She's irrational and she talks about killing herself all the time. There is probably no perfect way I can tell her without her freaking out and doing something drastic to me or herself. If I could get any suggestions or support it would be highly appreciated. I'm honestly terrified. :( |
| Question: Should I turn in an ex-friend who likely stole from me, since he had me do his hw for him? Posted: 01 Dec 2016 11:22 AM PST We were friends for like 9-10 months, hung out, and talked all the time. I told him a lot of secrets and trusted him. I don't know for certain he stole, but he was in my room, and I went to get a drink really fast. I came back and not only was he gone, but all of my money an some of my nicer things were gone and he was the only one who had the access in a short time or even knew where I had just put my wallet. So I mean someone could have rummaged through my stuff and found it in the 2 minutes I was gone, but he was gone by the time I got back, which was sketchy. (He said he left to do hw and someone must have come in after he left because he did not lock it). Like all logical sense points to him doing it though. A few days prior to having my stuff stolen, this guy told me to do his stats homework, so I did, thinking maybe he would want to hang out with me more, since he kept saying he couldn't. He told me it was fine if I did it since it was overdue anyway. I emailed the professor after the fact since it seemed like a lie (I did not mention his name) and she said he lied and it is fraudulent for him to take credit for work I did. She asked for his name and I never said. In light of recent events, should I email her back and confess that it was him. I will not get in trouble since I do not go to that class or even that college. |

| Posted: 01 Dec 2016 10:53 AM PST I m currently a sophomore in high school, and one of my friends, Anna, just started as a freshman this year. My twin sister, her, and I have known each other practically since we were babies, used to go trick-or-treating every year together as young kids, and still have a ton of fun together every time we hang out. Our parents are also good friends, but they are busy a lot, so we don t see them as often. However, at school I barely see her since we re in different grades, but when I pass her in the hallway all I get is a a polite smile. Today when I passed her and we made eye contact, barely a sign of recognition crossed her face. When I looked back at her, she smiled that same polite smile again, like I was a general acquaintance. But still, whenever we hang out, she acts totally different, super silly and goofy, like we re best friends. I m guessing part of the reason is because we re in different grades, but when I was friends with seniors my freshman year, they were much more friendly to me, and I was not nearly as good friends with them as I am with Anna. I m wondering if she acts different around her friends at school than around my sister and I, and is trying to retain that persona. But she needn t be so distant. Any ideas of why she is acting like this? I don t think she s mad at me, if I remember right, she was like this at our middle school too. Anything I could do to fix it? - I kind of feel like whenever I try to talk to her she hurries the conversation. |

Posted: 01 Dec 2016 10:19 AM PST As the question above might tell you, my friend has a granny kink and I am really starting to question her sanity as she makes the older men wear diapers because old people "tend to **** their pants." She also says that it makes sense to scream "Spank me, Daddy" to old people as their hearing isn't the best. I just find that to be weird. Moreover, she also says that this kink is popular amongst young people which I don't get because I thought that some people are into that Daddy kink. So I don't know if I should be worried or if thats normal. Do you all think her behavior is normal? I am not joking and really mean this. She is legit doing this. Everything positive I told her about him she made an excuse and made it a negative thing. She was making stuff up about him to make him look bad. | Question: Why is this 'friend' acting like this? Posted: 01 Dec 2016 07:30 AM PST So on tuesday night I got a message from an old friend and she has withdrawn a lot from the class with attendance due to depression. (basically she is in my class but we just kinda drifted and dont really talk as much anymore) She told me that she had just moved house on a road near mine by a few mins. So she went on to ask if i walk and it led onto asking if we walked together to college. So we arranged to meet at the end of my road at 8 in the morning. However the following morning (Wednesday) she messaged about 7:30 saying she didint go to bed till late last night and is too tired to come in and said she would walk tomo instead. So this morning I waited and at about 8 i messaged 'Are you awake?' and waited for a while longer before just coming in and turns out she was active on facebook and came in about lunch time just to go with another girl in the class to Subway and never came back with her. However i was only one she didnt see being in a nearby room and i saw her as she left for lunch knowing she was in fact in. However she messaged a response all these hours later simply saying 'No' to my question from this morning. like really, i saw you here. should i reply to this or just leave it and see if she says anything later about the possibility of meeting tomo to walk? also is she being like this because of her depression she is on? Thoughts and ask questions if you want, Thanks anyways :) |
