Question: I keep getting grounded? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 01:32 PM PST my parents are insanely unfair when it comes to punishment "terms", not to say that I didn't deserve the punishment, but I've been grounded so long now without a goddamned phone or car or laptop or any means to see friends that I've kinda said **** it? they won't let me do anything and idk what to do because I just want to get out and leave and they don't want me to but they won't tell me when I'm ungrounded but everytime i **** up again they say i was just about to get ungrounded so any ideas on wtf i should do cause i just want my privileges back |
Question: What can I do if everything I do is a negative influence for my nephew? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 01:24 PM PST I can't skateboard in front of nephew because he's going to want to do it. I can't ride my bicycle in front of nephew because he's going to want to do it. My nephew cannot go see me ice-skate because he's going to want to do it. My nephew cannot go see me swimming at the pool because he's going to want to do it. My nephew cannot go see me climbing trees because he's going to want to do it. What can I do if everything I do is a negative influence for my nephew? |

Question: My mom has no respect for me? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 01:10 PM PST My dad died last year unexpectedly in December. It was extremely hard for my, husband, girls and I. My mom has not once asked how we're doing. In fact, she has made this all about her. See moved on about 4 months after he passed. She started going on dates and started giving me details until I finally broke down and cried. I asked her to respect the fact that I'm still grieving and that I don't want to hear about these men. I told her that I support her being happy but I just need my time. I also opened up and told her how I felt the family wasn't there for me when he passed. Well she seems to fit right in with them and not once does has she showed that she cares how I feel. She started sending me pictures of some guy in the house holding my dad's dog. I'm furious. If she wants to move on that quick fine but why is she trying to force this on us. Also when he died I asked for one of his guitars that he promised me and she won't even give it. It's to the point where I don't even want to be around her. Everything she does is fake. She acts like she's this huge part of mine and my kids lives but all she's done since he died is put herself first and has been attention seeking. I can't take it anymore. |

Question: Is my mom hinting that she wants me to beat up my dad for her, when he hits her? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 12:44 PM PST he was hitting her and she said ''you have 5 sons, you're playing a dangerous game''. im not too sure but it sounded like she was telling him to watch out cuz one day we'll defend her. now i feel like i should step in next time. however, my brother, the eldest, is 16 and my mom begs him to be quiet when he argues with my dad. but maybe because hes skinny? im 15 and bigger than my older brother. the rest of my brothers are too small, all under aged 12. does she want me to help? |
Question: Inlaws living with me in a small studio? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 12:35 PM PST My mother and sister. I dont get along with them at all never have. Especially my mother. Question: I need to runaway but I have nowhere to go. Advise? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 12:23 PM PST FIRST: BEFORE YOU READ THIS, DON'T COMMENT MEAN THINGS LIKE, "DON'T RUNAWAY, LOOK AT WHERE YOUR AT COMPARED TO A PARK OR STREET" WELL, YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I'VE BEEN GOING THROUGH. thanks if you do help, though I know it may not be as bad as some kids have it, but my parents are mentally abusing me and they don't know it. They call me names and tell me if I want to runaway then "there's the door" and point to it. So technically, they're giving me permission to go? I don't like even to call my dad "dad" because he doesn't care about me and yells in my face because I can't learn a certain way. I've tryed running away but I was to scared and sat at my door step for 3 hours. But I need to get out of my house ASAP. The problem? I'm home schooled, so none of my friends would be able to take me. I absolutely HATE home school and my parents. I didn't have any choice to be home schooled or not, and I'm failing it, which is making my self esteem go down lower than it already is. I'm not used to failing school, because I got straight A's in public school. Are there any places near Madison Wisconsin that I could go to? I only have about $20 and no job.. I'm almost 14 and more mature than my age I can handle a job, but I don't think people are hiring 14 year old's.. Is it possible to sign myself back into public school without a parent?? Thanks if you help |
Posted: 10 Dec 2016 12:11 PM PST So I am 27 years old and I m in a difficult situation. A little less than a year ago I met this girl who I absolutely fell in love with. She fell for me as well. She is 19 and she is still kind of figuring out what she wants in life. Her parents are very wealthy and don t really like me very much. Mostly becuse my age but they are pretty mean to her about the whole thing. My family is poor and I m not very successful as well. About 6 months ago she ran away from home with me to live at my uncles while we prepared to get an apartment. Things became complicated becuse she got involved with another guy and she constantly expressed how she missed home so I chose to cancel the apartment and send her back home. We live about an hour apart and we decided to stay together. So I quit my job and followed her there opting to stay with a friend who doesn t want her to hang out with me at the house. Of course her parents don t want us together either so they don t let us hang out at her house. So we re stuck . I have no job and she still doesn t know for sure what she wants . I don t know exactly what to do at this point. |
Question: How do I stop snapping at my parents? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 12:05 PM PST I am 14 and I snapped about a year ago because I am so done with my parents bullshit , they have pushed me over the edge now and i yell a lot and get angry at them sometimes when they do something to piss me off and I have reasons to be mad because they give me no freedom or privacy and treat me like a child and today my mom was going threw my stuff looking for something and I told her it's not in there and she said ok but she still kept doing it so I yelled it's not in there so she left and came back 3 min later giving me a lecture on why am I being like this and how my life isn't hard so there is no reason to be angry. When the real reason is because of them and my life is not easy I have a lot of stress and anxiety especially since I am in highschool and I understand that I should be more calm but my parents just keep testing me! |
Question: Why does our relatives come every weekend and stay 12 hours per day? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 11:33 AM PST My aunt and uncle are Arabs. For some reason they come every weekend to our house and stay for LONG periods of time. They never invited us to their house. Or feed us dinner. Why is that? |

I bought my oldest a kids smart watch at a consignment never opened for 15$. In the store the cheapest i fount was 45. And i saw a pic of his sisters and a bride ( they just have one brother) and recently he called me again but from a number that belongs to my state and i didnt pick up. Question: Would you trust someone who did this? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 11:12 AM PST Would you trust someone who removed their exes name from their number in phone contacts even though that ex still calls and texts regularly now it comes up as a wireless number. |
Question: UPDATE: MY mom and boyfriend got into an Argument? Help!? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 11:00 AM PST Okay its been about two weeks and my mom isn't talking to me still, im really hating this feeling because i didn't do anything wrong. Well since this whole thing happened ive only been doing things for me and my son. me and my boyfriend are doing fine though my dad told us to keep everything calm. i am still hurt with how my mom has been and it hurts to be invisible to her but its her decision. my sons birthday is on the 14th and me and my boyfriend are paying for it she hasn't helped or anything. i told my dad that im tired of trying to make her happy its time to think of my happiness i cant make everyone happy ive tried and tried and im hurting myself. im just unsure of what to do next... and there is still no apology between either of them. |
Question: My dad always calls me alot recently because he has nothing better to do? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 10:45 AM PST My dad is 76 and getting older by the day. Im 22 and he recently lost his house. The house i grew up in. He knew it was gonna happen. He couldnt keep up with his mortgage and dug himself a grave. my mom doesnt talk to my dad anymore but theyre still married but seperated. She was always the one to tell him to sell the house 10 years back. But my dad being stubborn never did and chose to waste all his money. I dont live with either of them. Theyve had a broken marriage ever since i was little. My dad never really used to do father and sons things with me growing up. Especially when i was a young teen his business partner who is alot older than me, late 30's early 40's, he would always go out to eat and hang out with him alot. I guess he saw him as a son more than me. Now he doesnt hang out with him as much and now hes back to calling me and asking me if i want to go out to eat or go to a movie cause he has nothing better to do. He even said it on the phone. It just makes me sick and ruins my day or mood whenever i hear him on the phone. Especially when he said that. I know i cant fit my whole life story on this, but i honestly hate my life, how my parents raised me and dont know who else to talk to about it. My mom was abusive growing up and still is and my dad is a dead beat who went bankrupt and is now lonely. He gives me money from time to time, i dont ask for it, he just does cause i feel like he thinks he owes me something. Idk what to do. |
Question: How can I be more social? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 10:44 AM PST I'm fourteen years old and want to be more interactive with the world, but I really don't know where to start. I live in Burlington, KY and there's not a lot of things to do from where I live at my neighborhood. Everything is driving distance and my dad works full time in Ohio and my mom works part time while going to nursing school so she's usually tired. So their time is taken up. I feel kind of trapped. |
Question: My mom yells too much? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 10:23 AM PST This has been getting out of hand, because I usually tolerate this. But recently, she's been yelling for hours at everything I do. I said I wasn't hungry and she yelled for 30 minutes, quite literally. I then politely asked her to stop yelling at me and she literally started screaming for what seemed like an hour. I tried to speak and defend my self but she only got louder. This happens on a daily basis and is bad to the point where I sit in my room and avoid her, even though she still does come in my room and starts yelling about how I forgot to make my bed for a couple of minutes. I have tried to talk to her about her anger problems, but every single time she starts yelling again about how she doesn't have anger problems and that its my fault she's this way. She also refuses to let me see friends more than once a month, and when I do ask her, she starts screaming about how she's too tired to drive me and that I'm going out too much (she won't let other people drive me either) help? |
Question: Why is my brother so lazy? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 10:13 AM PST Well he never helps clean the bathroom we share is one thing but he can't even flush the toilet on his own anymore like really it's so gross how do I bring that up to him? He is 27 by the way older then me I am not lying either makes me wonder if he treated his wife that way when they lived together. |
Question: My mother has become obsessed with cleaning? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 10:05 AM PST i don't know how to handle this anymore. My mother has always been a cleaner, she likes her house tidy and everything, which is totally OK but over the past years she's totally obsessed over it to the point where she'll look for a huge fight over anything (like me leaving 1 glass of water on my room for like 30 minutes). She gets completely FURIOUS and goes on a huge fit if she sees one drawer that's not completely closed (even if it's 1cm away from being totally closed), and she'll tense her whole body and start yelling at me or my sister without any signs of stopping, and then she'll just act like nothing's happened, until she sees 1 drop of water on my shirt and scream saying that it will never come off. She is ALWAYS cleaning the house, never appreciates what my sister and I do to clean the house and she'll say we "do a horrible job" and that she's always going to have to clean and never have time for herself (even if it's clean, it won't be clean for her). I try not to answer but sometimes she just stands next to me SCREAMING and yells me to answer, obviously looking for a fight and I don't even know why she does this. I'm 19 and my sister is 22. |
Question: My son is furious at me and I don't know what to do? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 09:47 AM PST My 7 year old has wanted a hampster for 2 years and I've been hesitant to get one because they stink but his father talked me into getting him one for his birthday 3 months ago. We told him being a pet owner is a responsibility, and that he would be responsible for cleaning the cage twice a week. He promised, and it went well for 2 months, but lately he's been slacking on it. I told him for the last 4 days to clean it and he promised but then it never got done so last night I took the hampster and flushed it down the toilet. He tried to grab it befor it went down but I wouldn't let him, I told him this is what happens when you don't keep your word. He cried in front of the toilet all night and didn't sleep much and now today he won't come out of his room. I was just trying to teach him to be responsible and to honor his obligations but I think he took it the wrong way. What can I do to cheer him up? |
Question: Why is my mom so offended that I dont want her to come on my senior trip? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 09:45 AM PST I have a class of 19 people (small school) and we only need four chaperones for our senior trip, two male and two female. Three of the positions have already been filled including both the females needed. My mom was very offended when I told her this and asked why she didn't get to go. I was honest with her and said I didn't necessarily want my parents on my senior trip, to which she got even more offended and called me a brat and got me in trouble! Why? |
Question: Advice - Convincing parents? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 09:43 AM PST Hello, I'm a student currently. In my fifth year at university. I knew on the 4th year, I couldn't do it anymore. I was felt into depression because I was letting down a lot of people. My parents, my uncle and aunts who kept thinking I was a kind of genius, simply because I ranked first in High School. In my depression and as the truth would be out soon and not wanting to tell the truth, I took 8 panadols. I vomited 2 times and was feeling nauseous and really sick. It lasted around 2 days and a half. Because most of the time I'm in my room. My family didn't realised what I did. When I suffered like that, I kind of thought back on my life, what I wanted to achieve and I realized I really didn't want to die. So, when I was feeling better. I decided to talk to my parents about how I couldn't do the course anymore. I wanted to exit it. But as I was talking, I was crying at the same time and the matter turned another way. Instead of saying it was all me, I kind of get distorted and they were like "I was being lazy" "I spent to much time watching serials online". I admit to spending a lot of time watching serials but it was mainly because it made me happy. A little bit happy and took my mind away from studies and my depression. In the end, my parents arranged for a Medical Certificate and got me exempted of all modules this year. I thought I could do it. Maybe, it was all laziness afterall. I really tried but it was still the same thing. I am getting depressed again. But this time around, I know I don't want to die and I know my dream. But to them, they think it's a waste of time and I'm just being influenced and that it's a wastage of intellect. I want to learn Languages. Chinese and German and a few others too and become a translator or a teacher. Please help me to actually convince them that it's my dream, I want to do this. I really can't do engineering. Please let me pursue my dream. I don't want to do something that I keep thinking of killing myself. |
Question: How do I convince my dad that I need to go to the doctor? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 09:31 AM PST It's almost 2017. Personally, I don't think I should be having this problem, but oh well. I am almost positive I have anxiety (don't even critique me, there's no point) but my dad is the kind of uptight, rude man who either thinks it's all in my head and that I should get over it, or he thinks I'm perfect and would never ever have that "disease". Basically, he's an asshole. It's getting to the point, however, that I really need something to help me. I miss tons of school, I'm looked at as "weird", and my performance in some of the clubs I'm in has decreased. I'm honestly spiraling downward, and I need to be diagnosed with this thing that I know I have because I need help. How do I convince my narrow-minded, "conservative" (if you will) father that I need to go to the doctor or something for this because it's beginning to affect my life and my friendships? I'm about to go off to college, and the last thing I need is to get anxiety attacks every day like I do now. Thank you! I didn't mean for this to sound insensitive in any way. By "I don't think I should be having this problem", I meant with my dad. |
Question: I made my mom cry, how do I make it up to her? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 08:59 AM PST Long story short my mother took away my PC yesterday because I didn't want to turn it off at 10PM and today I made her cry because I said I was going to move away when I turn 18, I could see why it made her cry. She gave me back my PC and told me she won't talk to me anymore. I feel like an ungrateful piece of **** because my life is pretty good and this is how I repay my parents. I was thinking about buying her something and writing "Sorry I made you cry" on a note. But that made me feel even worse because I don't even know what she likes. Edit I was mad because she told me to turn off my PC and I didn't want to so she took away my monitor. I'm doing OK in school. She was mad at me because I don't leave my room and because I don't eat enough or socialize with my family. I'm just jealous of other kids because their parents let them go to clubs and get drunk and **** and my parents wouldn't even let me ride my bike on the road. I'm not spoiled I'm just jealous of other kids my age. |
Question: Is Ouran High School Host Club appropriate for a 11 year old? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 08:52 AM PST i like this show calld Ouran High School Host Club and i want to watch it on tv and not on my pc or my bro iphone so is it appropriate for a girl my age? |
Question: Do you think "South Park" is appropriate for kids? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 08:44 AM PST Last night, my sister and my brother-in-law came over to our apartment with their 8 year old daughter (my niece). We were all talking outside on our balcony, and I needed to get something. I passed by the living room, where my niece was, and saw that she was watching some show. I came and sat down next to her and asked her what she was watching. "I'm watching a show called South Park, it's super funny! Do you want to watch with me?" She asks me. I say yes, of course, and waited until the commercials were over. The TV show finally started, and I thought it was utterly--yes, I do mean utterly--highly inappropriate for children. My niece was laughing hysterically, even though she probably had no idea what all those inappropriate words meant. The show was talking about sex, and was saying bad words. I finally had the guts to ask my niece, "Honey, do you know what all this stupid stuff is?" I was hoping she would say no, but apparently she knows about sex and the bad words the show was saying. I was shocked. When I was 8, those cussing words hadn't even popped into my mind, and I didn't know what sex really was until I was 12, and I still regret watching the growth and development video then, haha. It really disgusts me how all these young children seem to know what sex is, and know what all these bad cussing words are. "Don't tell mom and dad, they don't know I'm watching this. They'll ground me for life if they knew I did!" my niece told me. I'm sorry, but I had to tell her parents. It was disgusting to watch my 8-year old niece to know this kind of stuff! If I had caught my child doing that, I wouldn't let her watch TV until she was mature enough! I honestly think "South Park" isn't appropriate for kids at all--they really shouldn't be watching it. My sister was actually telling me that her friend's 11-year old daughter was caught looking at a porn site. PORN SITE!! I'm 22 years old, and frankly, I never watch porn. That's coming from a 22 year old. But an 11 year old---PORN? Really? Those sites are for adults, definitely not for children. ...Back to the "South Park" discussion. What do you think? Do you think "South Park" is appropriate for children? Why or why not? Thanks for your time! |
Question: Is It Ok To Play Basketball Barefoot? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 08:43 AM PST I'm a guy living in east Florida and I've never been really fond of shoes. It being usually pretty warm here I think the weather permits bare feet. Sometimes I like to go down to the court and hoop without my shoes. It feels good and I play even better than normal. In the summer I pretty much never wear shoes anyway. But my parents (Dad mostly) don't approve. I told them I've been doing it for months now anyway and it's not dangerous but they said they'll need proof. As a 16 year old I think I should be able to do it if I choose to, but guess I need some "professional" opinions |

I understand they are just worried and dont want me to show up on 16 & Pregnant. They explained to me that they do not trust me and they are not going to let me see my boyfriend anymore. Ive been crying my eyes out because we have been together for a year and a half and I dont know what to do. Question: My wife says i waste too much money? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 07:37 AM PST About two weeks ago I had to take a toe nail out because it was getting infected. I have insurance it's just that the place I went to didn't accept it. So I paid $300 out of pocket including $200 that my wife helped me with. Today I want to take a moler out because it's hurting me and its going to cost me about $2000 plus the cleaning. The problem is that my wife is angry because she wanted to buy our baby his car seat today. She is 37 weeks and 5 days with our third baby. I think there is still plenty of time. We still have next weekend. She told me 'I work and can't even pay to get my crooked teeth fixed or to go to the doctor to get checked and you waste the only money we've got?' Half of that money is hers, yes. But I don't like having my teeth hurt or my toe nails hurting my toes. That's why there are doctors. How can I make her understand? |
Question: How to persuade my parents to give me my own room? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 07:27 AM PST So I'm a 15-year-old male and lately I really need my own room but I don't know how to bring it up. Currently, I sleep in the same bed as my mom and sister (22). We've all slept together since I was like 2-years-old so it's kind of a family tradition. It has stuck then, always the three of us in the same bed. Also, I have never really asked for a room so our mom probably assumed I was fine. However, now that I'm older I need to study more, it would be more convenient to have all my stuff in one place and I do need some private time and space. My mom always wants me in her eyesight and earshot all the time, she would probably wouldn't like me getting my own room. My sister also has to study too, she needs her own room but since our mom is so protective, she'll likely insist on us to continue sharing a room with her. How do I bring this up? The last time my sister asked for a room, our mom was very hurt. She thought that my sister loved her less and was doing shady things. How do I tell her that I still love her, I just need my own privacy? I don't think she gets the concept of growing up. She can't expect me to be a 7-year-old boy forever. We have 3 unused bedrooms in our house (our house is really big) so there's no reason she can't let either of us get our own room. Any ideas? |

Question: I'm stuck between a rock and hard a place, what do I do? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 06:36 AM PST I am a 22 yr old male, I had to move away from family because I felt like it was time, my mom was on drugs etc. So now I am renting a room and I currently work. The room price is alitttle pricey for my income but I still make enough to cover it. The second part to this is that I have the worse job in America. Disrespeful managers, no communication, they expect for you to know things, they don't even train. Both issues are killing me. So my question is in what order should i look for what a job and another place? I plan on leaving both soon. |
Question: Why are these kids spolied? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 06:24 AM PST I am 53. I never drive my son and daughter places, I am rarely around them. I have had them in online schooling for 11 years. I never got them a drivers permit, or license or car. I never taught them to drive at 15 and 16, and I am sure not going to start now. My parents taught me at 16 and got me driving lessons at 16, I do not want to do either for my son and daughter. They're 17 and 18. They have no job and never had one as I never got them an I.D and I refuse to drive them and every time they apply for job the places tell them they're unhirable as they have no transportation. We live in the south and public transportation is an hour away which I will not take them to. We live on an interstate/highway. There are cars everywhere and no side walks or areas on the road for walkers. You cannot go into town without using the interstate/highway. Why are my son and daughter so scared to walk in the road behind cars as if they were driving but they'd be walking? Come on! I've been beating them with belts for 12 years daily yet they're still entilted and spolied brats! They have not been around peers for 10 years yet they're still spolied! I have not bought them a gift for 12 years either why are they like this? |
Question: I asked my dad to move out of my apartment, but he won't listen. What should I do? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 06:09 AM PST I know you may be thinking. How could I ask my own father to move out of my apartment. I'll explain. I'm in my 20's. I have been helping my dad financially since I was like 18. He lost his job and said couldn't find another one. He lived in different towns. My mom and him are separated. 10 years later , he moved in to my apartment and promised he woils look for a job and help me with the expenses. However, months passed and he wasn't helping with anything around the house. No only that, I didn't have my own privacy. Everytime people went over my house, he used tell people about it. Also. He complained that I wasn't doing enough for him. I told him that he needed to find a job and help me with the bills. Instead he got mad at me saying that he can't believe his daughter would tell him that. He started working and won't contribute with the bills. Besides he still won't talk to me. I told him that it us better if he moves out because our relationship is worsening. He said that I'm a terrible daughter and that he will look for a place. But it's been 2 months and he still leaves with me, don't contribute with anything, don't talk to me, and won't move out. I need my privacy. I can't be living with a person like that . It's not fair. He is my dad, but he has Been taking advantage of me for years. I want to stop. What should I do? |

Question: Who is in the wrong? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 05:10 AM PST am 53. I don't believe parents should have to support their kids in a way that helps them for their future. I don't believe in getting my son and daughter a learners permit, a license, or teaching them how to drive. I don't believe in letting them get a job to save up money, because I refuse to teach them how to drive, I refuse to drive them(they cannot walk, as we live on a highway/ intersection and they refuse to walk in the street with cars), I refuse to teach them how to drive, and they can't use public transportation(an hour away) as I refuse to drive them there. They have no one to help them with these things, as I have had them home schooled(they still are) for 11 years. What do you think? I plan on kicking them out with nothing when they(17) both turn 18. I stopped celebrating both of their birthdays when they were 8 years old. I haven't wanted them for 15 years. I also believe in kids having no contact with parents/ family members as soon as you kick them out at 18. At 18, they will be legal adults, and it is retarded for them to still live with you and see you. 17 is too old for this! I keep telling my son and daughter '' not their father anymore and when I kick them out with nothing at 18 it is not my fault. My son got upset and I yelled and called him retarded. I have never actually considered myself their father, so don't know why that bothers my son for. When I kick them out, I am not giving them money or identifcation for either of them. |

Posted: 10 Dec 2016 04:47 AM PST I am a 20 year old guy who lives with my single mom(via anonomous sperm donor) and my 2 aunts, who all raised me together. I am 6'2 weighing 200 pounds. We are going on a family cruise, and they already bought my ticket. I dont want to go cuz its humiliating being shorter and smaller than 3 women in their 50s. Question: Stay or Go Away For School? Posted: 10 Dec 2016 02:34 AM PST So I am borderline miserable at home. I am now in my 2nd year of community college & I intend on going away and getting a student housing apartment next year. The only thing is Idk if I ll have the money for rent & tuition next year and I can not expect any help from my parents. On the other hand I m thinking about just staying home again next year & save money to leave. I m 19 with a job and a fulltine student I don t have a car but I m saving up for one and I even pay some bills around the house. My mom gets mad at me for working late and is still trying to tell me when to come in etc and what to do with my money when she doesn t even have a job herself. She still tries to talk to me like I m 15 and I feel like The only way to escape this is to go save my money and work 2 jobs and get away for school. The school I m trying to go to is also a 2 year school but with a nursing program I m interested in, my rent will be about 500 a month & my tuition may be about 10,000 so that isn t that bad. My family is kind of poor basically the working class so I can t expect fir them to give me any money & I essentially will have to do everything myself. So should I go? I mean my mom doesn t even want me to be a fulltime student, she doesn t want me to work late or get another job she complains about picking me up then asks me to pay bills I just always feel like my family is holding me back & going away and studying for my career will be good for me |

Posted: 10 Dec 2016 01:55 AM PST I m 26. I ve been with my girl over a year and a half and we ve known each other since high school (that s a long time). She is ready the get married and wants to and I find it a good idea. My father, who is 75 opposes the idea because she s from a Muslim family where mine is Christian. My dad has nothing against Muslims but even though we are all now in the United States (we all immigrated separately three years ago), it s a big taboo in our country of origin to get married in that way, which culminates in death by some crazy radicals or me converting (does not affect me here but it would should I ever go back and visit). Converting is something I would never do and my girlfriend is okay with a secular wedding. My dad sure has old ideals but he has this gripping sense of fear that hell will break loose, I saw him cry while talking about it for the first time in my life. He begged me tof move on, realizing that he can t control my actions (I ve been independent since the age of 19). This dialogue has been ongoing for a while now. My dad is as old, he had heart surgery done in recent past and I am just terrified that me doing something he isn t agreeing with will cause him more problems. Even if not, I feel that I will always blame myself after he passes away one day. I m in and layaway dilemma where I dont want the end things with the girl i love yet I can t handle my father crying and hiding because of me. Please help me. |
Question: Im 16 and 5ft6 and my mom is short my dad family are all tall will I continue to grow? Posted: 09 Dec 2016 11:59 PM PST |
Posted: 09 Dec 2016 11:38 PM PST My mother is a gossip also but only about people she holds grudges against (she holds lots of grudges). My sister will gossip about anyone anywhere. I am worried if I say something like "darn, I would have loved to have gone to that" then my mother will tell my sister "brother is upset he wasn't invited" and my sister will tell the host "my brother is mad he wasn't asked". Thus the people will see me as needy and demanding of invitations when all I said was "darn, I'd of loved to have gone to that" when of course I understand not everyone can be asked to everything. Also if I am hurt by someone my mother makes a mountain out of a molehill. My sister I fear would tell everyone under the sun. So what do I do? I am only 20 but my sister is 33. |
Posted: 09 Dec 2016 11:29 PM PST It was like behavior parents have in a divorce. Her Dad was an alcoholic and she had a 7 year separation from him and generally all of her family (her sibs and parents). She put it on us kids and said "I am protecting you all" and I was little and believed her. She also told us that her family didn't want us in their lives. I believed her. As I got older and began reaching out they all reciprocated and so I saw they did want us in their lives. Yet I'd believed my Mom as a kid and been angry at them thinking they didn't want us. I began feeling guilty. Now as an adult I just blame my Mom who remains bitter but is nicer to their faces. She also has no remorse for what it did to me. Now her anger is intermittent as she is good to them at some points and bitter at other points. Right now she is on a good spell. So how do I get past the hurt my mother caused me and forgive her? I want to forgive as it is better for me and it is not like she was a bad mother all around or anything. |

Question: Do my mom really loves her children or are we just her labours ? Posted: 09 Dec 2016 10:51 PM PST I am 19 and I have been running my family restaurant for almost three years . I ve been working there hard throughout my high school years. I got first honour in school but I didn t get to go to uni like other kids because my mom doesn t want to hire other people to work. I felt like I am losing every opportunity I have because all I do is just waitressing. I really hate my job and my mom knows it but I never show it to customers. I don t know anyone who has to work as much as me. Both my dad and my sister are living in another country and my mom hardly works at all. Her reason is she doesn t have to. She just watches drama at home. I m so sick of working hard. Sometimes I wish I can just die so I don t have to deal with this. I m only 19 but I have to deal with problems with the chefs and customers . All I wanted is to go to uni and make friends but I don t know if that can ever happen. Someone tell me what I do I talked to my mom and she scolded me for being an ungrateful child. |
Posted: 09 Dec 2016 10:22 PM PST I finished dinner and was chilling in my room. My phone was charging in the kitchen, so I went to go get out. I walked out of my room and clear as can be were my step-mom and dad scrolling through my texts. I was astonished and grabbed my phone. I have never done anything wrong in my life (by wrong I mean get into trouble). There was no indication that I had become a 'savage' teenager. I've had a really long night. Turns out my step-mother and dad have been reading my text messages for MONTHS. They planned to ambush me about the things i had said about them. (Yes, I have said some things I am not proud of, but honestly they are actual assholes. They do not care about anyone but themselves.) We had a huge argument. They twisted my words and made me the person who was in the wrong. They violated my privacy. My dad did not pay for my phone. Yes, he gives child support but thats not for my phone. He was AGAINST me getting a phone. I told everything to my mom through my texts, my thoughts, my darkest and deepest secrets, my most inner feelings, everything. I don't know how he did it. I don't know how he got my passcode. I feel so betrayed. I've had a lot of emotional and verbal abuse (a little strong) so I would like if people only shared positive comments. Thanks. |
Question: Does it sound like my son is in an inappropriate relationship? Posted: 09 Dec 2016 10:02 PM PST My son is 15 years old and just got a part time job at McDonalds. There he met a 27 year old woman who made friends with him pretty quick. I didn't mind that, it was what I was expecting, but I'm beginning to think there may be more than a friendship between them. She's all he ever talks about and each time I have been with her he's all she'd talk about. I was listening to a conversation between them and she was asking him thing I found to be a bit odd like "Are you gay?" And "Do you have a girlfriend?" He also has been nagging me to get his phone activated because she really wants his number. Like I said he's 15 and she's 27. Does this sound odd or am I just a bit over protective? (Sorry if my grammar was off, English is not my first language.) |
