Question: My dad hit me, what do I do? Posted: 06 Jan 2019 01:50 PM PST My dad hit me because I didn t help my mom move furniture. He didn t help either, so I said "screw you" to him and he hit me really hard on the back of the head. He cheated on my mom a few times when I was like 3-4. He has been verbally abusive to me ever since I was 5 years old so what do I do? |

Question: Personal finance question: Why don't homeless people just buy a home? Posted: 06 Jan 2019 12:30 PM PST This is so obvious. Is it because they are stupid dumb dumbs? also sidenote: I gave my grandma $5 and she stripped on me while Flo Rida's "club cant handle me" Played |
Question: My Parents Will Disown Me? Posted: 06 Jan 2019 12:21 PM PST My parents are Asian immigrants and they really want me to get into an Ivy League or a very prestigious school. I tried explaining to them that the schools they want me to go to are basically a lottery and even if I do have the stats, there's still a big chance I won't be accepted. I've also tried explaining to them there's other less prestigious colleges I would like to go to that will still give me a good education, but all they say is that they didn't come all the way from Korea to America for me to get into a just okay college. They said they simply wouldn't accept the fact that I couldn't get into a prestigious school. I literally think if I don't get into a prestigious school they might disown me actually. When I tried telling them there's other colleges I want to attend other than the ones they're making me apply for, they looked so disappointed/mad that I'm even thinking about attending not so prestigious schools. If they do disown me for going to a college they don't want me to/not getting into a good college, I'll be 18 by then, so technically it wouldn't matter, but how would I pay for college then? If my parents refuse to pay my fund/disown me what can I do to still attend college? Also how do I talk some sense into them that there are other good colleges? They literally are making me apply for nearly impossible to get in schools and putting so much pressure on me. |

Question: Am I just another casualty of war? Posted: 06 Jan 2019 10:30 AM PST My mom is being selfish right now. She is in love with my heroine addicted step dad again and when I confronted her about this, she threatened to call the cops on me. When I told her I didn't do anything illegal she tried to fight me. I struggled with her, being the least violent as I could. She didn't have any marks or bruises. She is also the reason why I am socially awkward. I'm 14 and I've been through 6 different school districts, 6 attempts at trying to get friends. It's all her fault. I'm just a pawn in her game. It's her world and I'm just living in it. What do you guys think I should do? |
Question: What is a solution to my problem (read details)? Posted: 06 Jan 2019 10:06 AM PST For all my life, I've been nothing but a casualty of war. I'm 14 years old and I've been through 6 different school districts already. I could never find any friends. I blame all of this on my ***** of a mother. My mother, who has dated a sexual predator (who is my father) and a meth addict (knowingly and my step dad). She always wants to move. One day, she broke up with my step dad for the second time. To make herself feel better, we went on vacation. We stayed at a hotel for a night and we got into an argument. It got physical. She out her hands out and either tried to choke me or push me. I grabbed her hands, struggling with her trying to be the least violent as possible. I didn't punch her, and kept calm. And then, she spits in my face and threatens to call the cops on me, convincing my brother and step sister to tell the cops that I hit her (I didn't). She didn't call the cops thankfully. But she's back with the peice of ****, and he is living at our house. I think I am mentally Disturbed. I got no friends, a psycho mother, an attic step dad. What the hell am I going to do? I don't want to take any legal actions because I can't really afford to right now. |
Question: Would this be wrong of me to do? Posted: 06 Jan 2019 09:31 AM PST My brother, and I bought a small house a little over a year ago that we have been living in ever since. I've been contemplating moving back to my moms for a long time. I almost didn't a couple months ago. My brother had agreed to buying my half, but I changed my mind. I know I'm moving to move to my mothers within the next couple months. I told my brother that I would in fact be moving up there eventually. Anyway, we have several leaks in hour roof, so we were going to re roof it when summer came around. Also a small bathroom has to be remodeled. Would it be wrong of me to move out, and leave all the for him to take care of, or should I help pay for it even after I move out? |
Question: Why do girls cry over guys ? Posted: 06 Jan 2019 09:18 AM PST My sister has a crush on her favorite actor she's heart broken because he's married and has 2 kids she said it's not fair. She hasn't been eating or sleeping lately she's been wearing black acting like she's a goth or emo person she says depressing stuff all the time. Last night she didn't want to eat dinner she said what's the point of eating or even living if the only guy you love is taken. She said she feels lonely and sad she feels like nobody cares about her that's not true. She's been sitting in her room crying the past two days. She's been watching his tv show a lot she wants to cry but she can't because the show is too funny. It's the only thing that makes her kind of makes her happy. She said she has dreams about him also she's having suicidal thoughts. She's never acted this way before she said all she wants is to give him a kiss or a hug. Why do girls cry over guys all the time ? How can I help her feel better ? |
Question: My brother is a sarcastic person. Should I take this personal? Posted: 06 Jan 2019 05:35 AM PST It is part of what ruined his marriage I believe. |
Question: How can I help my Mom through her deep bitterness towards her family? Posted: 06 Jan 2019 05:34 AM PST She is bitter and resentful towards her sister and mother and it is all my mother talks about cause her mother favors the sister. It consumes my mother like a cancer and I feel I have lost my mother as a result. She doesn't see anything in her family except what she believes and seems to want to see which is that she is rejected and they are traitors. She says her mother commits something called covert incest with this sister of my Mom's, her mother's daughter. Apparently covert incest is not physical abuse but relying on a child for the emotional support of an adult. I think it is a creepy term and creepy of my Mom to accuse my grandmother of. This eats my Mom like a cancer. My brother has a family and doesn't care as much but I see my Mom a lot. Would be nice to do something other then insult her sister and mother, my aunt and grandmother. My grandmother I love a lot and get along with. The aunt I seldom see. |
Posted: 06 Jan 2019 05:07 AM PST His moyher passed away in the end of march and her brother the uncle became their Guardian. There's an older brother to the nine year old who is 15 years old he has been in and out of trouble his entire life and is in is being investigated for molestation charge against a child. He beats up on the nine year old constantly making him his slave but not just that the uncle is unfit he works he comes home he locks himself in his room and lets the kids fend for themselves she is financially draining all of the children's money. And for the summer I had gotten the nine-year-old till September 4th when he returned to school and then I got him again for mid-winter break right now in that time that I had him the stories he told me and the things I heard and saw we're so sad and scary at the same time that I have been talking to the grandfather and the older uncle about getting custody of the nine-year-old myself my question is what are my steps if anybody has went through this where custody was awarded to the uncle but now needs to be taken away from the uncle if anybody could help that would be great I live in Michigan so Michigan law applies |

What should I do |
Question: Why do you think my childhood friend may have done this? Posted: 05 Jan 2019 09:10 PM PST So when i was younger, we had these family friends and one of them as a boy a year older than me (I'm a girl). He used to be my best friend at their house and i have three older siblings and he also had older siblings and we would just cut ourselves off from them and spend time alone and everybody used to tease us and say that we liked each other. I am from an eastern home environment, so in our culture, typically girls hang out with girls and vice versa, but at that time we were only kids. Then i moved out of the country for five years. His mom would tell us that he would always ask her if he ever annoyed me in our childhood and if he had ever upset me, which showed that he hadn't forgotten me. When my brother went to visit recently, this friend of mine gave my brother amazing hospitality and was super friendly. My sister and i visited about a month after and we spent time with his older sister and mom, we went out for lunch but then we went over to their house for a while. He only came down for a few minutes and when he did he was only talking to my older sister and was completely avoiding looking at me. He was leaving no room for me in the convo, didn't even say hi to me and when i would say something, he would only momentarily glance at me and then continue talking to my sister as if i didn't exist. Why do you think he could be acting this way? I was a little offended because its not like i ever did anything to insult him. |
Question: How do I celebrate my high school graduation with BOTH divorced parents? Posted: 05 Jan 2019 08:07 PM PST My parents have been divorced for about four months, and they haven't been on good terms for at least a few years. My high school graduation is this upcoming May. My dads family is coming in from Florida and my moms is from here. I really wanted to have just ONE lunch or dinner with my family either before or after graduation, but I don't really know what to do considering the fact that both my parents hate each other now. I don't know if I can expect them to be civil and act like adults. I'm also worried because my dad might invite the woman he cheated on my mom with, and I honestly really don't want her there because I genuinely don't like her but he's always guilting me into including her in things or accepting her (which I will never do given the fact that she practically destroyed my family). It just makes me really sad and frustrated because my older brother never had to deal with this for his graduation 2.5 years ago and neither do any of my friends :/ All I want is to be able to celebrate something I accomplished without having to juggle around something I had no control over. I'm just concerned because I know my mom trash talks my dad to her side of the family and vice versa with my dad and his. It's just a really messy situation but all I wanted to do was celebrate with everyone :/ How can I have a graduation party where I can invite both parents that would not be stressful for everyone and where I could convince both sets to be there? |
Question: Wife and i need help picking a last name.? Posted: 05 Jan 2019 07:56 PM PST My wife and i would like to change our last name to something new and unrelated to our parents' last names. Just asking for help finding a last name that fits our first and middle names. Mine are Dan Simei and her's are Kacie Rachelle. |
Posted: 05 Jan 2019 07:56 PM PST My sons father and I have been together for five years I thought we had a happy relationship and a happy home. Long story short he's been cheating on me for five years with a girl who has been harassing me and calling me stalking me etc. I had all the red flags I just believed in him ...he made it seem as though it was his family who is jealous of our relationship who is making these calls to me. I trusted him anyhow I do not forget what the girl said to me she would call my son names threaten him threaten me tell me she was having sex in my bed while I was working horrific things. I got pregnant last year and he told me to get rid of it he didn't want anymore kids. I just found out he is still dealing with this girl and she is real and she is now having his baby. This is all a joke to her and she insists that she's never going anywhere and that she'll be raising my son every other weekend and then she's going to make him take me to court so she can play mommy to my kid. How does one handle this I feel so violated and disrespected?! This is my son and I do not feel that he is safe around her and I feel she and my sons father have no morals or respect now I have to deal with this baby to?! I feel like I'm in a nightmare. |
Question: How to comfort your wife when she's upset ? Posted: 05 Jan 2019 07:47 PM PST My wife is feeling really sad right now I asked her what's wrong she just hugged me and cried. She just had a baby she's probably still emotional and tired but she doesn't want to go to sleep she's still crying a little. How can I comfort her ? |
Question: Advice? I know this is crap but i'm kinda desperate.? Posted: 05 Jan 2019 07:22 PM PST My mom said I could have a $5 dollar thing on wednesday, and she pinky promised me. She said she wouldn't forget, and she did. My parents yell at me because I don't ask for anything. Then they always forget and don't ask me if they forgot to give me anything. No, they yell at me instead. What should I do? |
Question: Does my cousin like me? Posted: 05 Jan 2019 06:46 PM PST He was over at my house today and I was in the kitchen washing dishes. He came up behind me and poked my butt with the TV remote. When I turned round, he smiled and I looked at him with a smile and a look as if to say, playfully, "*insert name*, you naughty boy!" He then proceeded to ask me some innocent question then went back to watch TV. What does this mean? Is there a chance he's into me? |
Question: Need advice about my two step son. Help please? Posted: 05 Jan 2019 06:20 PM PST |
Posted: 05 Jan 2019 06:19 PM PST He moved away and I have not seen him in several years. He was the devil when I knew him. Apparently he has changed and is doing a lot better now as I knew him as a worthless teenager and now he is an adult. I have not talked to him in a year and a half other then "Happy Birthday" email both Septembers (his birthday). I did not even talk to him at Christmas. Since this is not how family should be do I have to consider him a brother? I have no resentment towards him as he has changed so I forgive, but there is no sibling bond with him. I am 28 and live in Minnesota and he is all the way in Atlanta which is why I have not seen him in so long. I should add he has not been to a single family event in over two years. He missed two reunions, a funeral, two weddings, and two Christmas and Thanksgivings (I missed one Thanksgiving also). |

Posted: 05 Jan 2019 06:06 PM PST I'm afraid to do suicide cause I hate him for it and yet I love him at the same time. He was awesome and yet so selfish he killed himself. My sister was great until she decided drugs were her best bet. Then she was wicked. Meanwhile my brother died years back from SIDS in 2008 when I was 5 and that was two days after Christmas that year. Everyone dies at Christmas in my family, it is horrible, the holiday is horrible. It is just me now from my immediate family and I am only 15 (my maternal grandmother has me now). My Dad's parents won't return my phone calls now and I fear they think this is my fault. My mother also died years back in a USAir plane crash when I was just a baby. It was in 1994. I had a step-mother but she and my father divorced and I don't know her anymore or even if she knows who has died this year. I cannot function and school goes back Tuesday. What do I do? I hate my life and everything. There is no good in the world. |
Posted: 05 Jan 2019 05:56 PM PST Like, Does it make sense to get the children home off the 9-hr road trip just hours before midnight on the day before school starts.... Like, if the non-custodial parent is supposed to pay the transportation for the visit, why does it make sense for the custodial parent to have to drive more than 8 hours one way to get the children back home? Arguing SUCKS!!! So, if I just want the kids back home at a decent time without having to damn near kill myself driving 16+ hours in order to get my kids home in time for school....what do I do? Notifying the police is "extra" and over the top. So, does anybody have ANY suggestions? I am beginning to stress out ... and I DEFINITELY don't want to make a 9-hr drive stressed out - while just trying to get my kids home safely. |

Question: My mom wants to put her lease in my name? Posted: 05 Jan 2019 05:33 PM PST My mom has put me in a horrible position. Her credit is trashed because our home is currently in foreclosure so there's no way she could buy another home or rent another home, she can pretty much just rent an apartment, which she doesn't want to do for various of reasons. She has pressured me and fought with me many times because she wants me to use my name for the lease of her new place because I have good credit but I told her that I cannot do that. Yes I'm currently living with her but I am 23 years old, work full time, full time student, and in a serious relationship. I plan to move out with my boyfriend later on this year. I don't want to put my name on something if I'm going to be there only temporarily and also I just don't think it's a good idea financially. My mom doesn't understand my point and just says I'm selfish for not helping my family. But she put herself in this position and I feel that she should accept her mistakes and just rent an apartment while fixing her credit. What should I do? Am I wrong? |
Question: So how do I ignore my dad for life? Posted: 05 Jan 2019 05:21 PM PST Ever since he retired he's been very annoying. He always plays his TV loud playing old preacher recordings and he always nags me about small stuff. He's also egotistical as hell and seldom likes to admit that he's wrong. The worst of it is he cheated on my mom and would do it very obviously and loudly on the phone while I'm in my room just trying to do stuff. I'm in my room a lot playing games or 3D modeling. Apparently he has a mistress because my mom can't always be with him even though she works 16 hours while he's at home "fixing" the house and stuff. Usually he does real basic stuff like move furniture or build something out of used crap because he really doesn't have much money and has to get my mom to get him most things. So how do I just ignore the guy he's not good for anything |
Question: How do I get my sibling to stop copying me and become their own person? Posted: 05 Jan 2019 04:36 PM PST I'm 26 and my sister is 22. I've always been independent and had to figure out things on my own. My sister is somewhat independent, however, she has always needed help when it comes to making decisions or completing a task. I understand that younger siblings look up to their older siblings, but this is completely copying everything that I have done and will do. I started playing tennis when I was younger, and of course my sister decided to pick it up as well. I took French in high school and my sister ended up taking it too. She wanted to attend the same college as I did but wasn't accepted. I worked as a lifeguard over the summer for 3 years, and she has done the exact same. She has also wanted the same job and career field that I am in, contradicting her initial plans while starting college. I have also noticed that she takes memories that I have and formed them to be her own, all while telling me that I am wrong. Once I mentioned that I was interested in becoming a doctor, she expressed interest as well. I am skeptical to mention career plans because I'm worried that she will follow in my EXACT footsteps and I find myself wanting to push my dreams aside. I don't know how to handle this situation and ultimately I just want her to be her own person and go after the things SHE enjoys, not because I enjoy them. I have become somewhat depressed because I feel like I've lost a lot of my identity. Can anyone offer any advice or similar experiences to help deal with this? |
Posted: 05 Jan 2019 04:04 PM PST I recently bought a house that has a lot of land and four wheeler trails around it. So I bought a couple four wheelers. Now my brother and mom are both asking me if they buy four wheelers if they can keep them at my house. They also keep making comments that they want to buy an RV and keep it at my house. My mom keep buying stupid ****, all useless junk and she keeps bringing it to my house and then saying "is it ok if I leave this here?" Then they're basically telling me since I have four wheelers that they're gonna come by and ride them too. I feel like they're imposing on me. I'm not even that close to them. My mom has no life and my brother doesn't work he gets disability so they have all the time in the world to constantly call and text me. It's been going on for a long time and I'm about to tell them to pick their stuff up from my house or I'm throwing it away and stop calling me. No you can't store anything at my house, it's my house, not yours. It's not a storage unit, it's my home. I feel like it's mean to tell them no but at the same time, I don't like having company really and I don't want them at my house all the time in my hair. I just want them to have respect without me having to ask for it. And it's not just my family. My girlfriends family keeps saying this summer they're gonna be out a lot to go swimming and stuff. It pisses me off that everybody thinks my stuff is somehow theirs too. It's disrespectful and imposing on me. That's how I feel. |
Question: Is my nephew justified in being upset/angry with me? Posted: 05 Jan 2019 03:12 PM PST I am his aunt and he is 28, he planned a day trip to Washington DC to see the sites (he has never been before) first he wanted to take his girlfriend but she was on holiday with family then he wanted to ask his friend but he changed plans after a family member died, now I felt so sorry for him (he only has his girlfriend and 2 friends) so I said I would take him as I know the place well. While there a topic came up about loyalty and I said "I am very loyal" I told him I hate DC and never wanted to come again but I only came because he wanted to take someone with him, I told him I felt sorry for him for only having a few friends. He didn't speak much to me during the trip and when we got home I told the family what i did for him and why I did and he is angry with me and told me he doesn't need his hand held. He now won't respond to my texts and declined an invitation to a Christmas party I had. What did I do wrong? @Eva - I never said he had no friends, I said he only had 2. |
Question: Is it wrong to honestly hate a sibling? Posted: 05 Jan 2019 03:07 PM PST 1st of all I'd like to say I'm 24 and she's 27. I know this sounds messed up because I'm her brother but I actually hate her. Me and her actually never really got along growing up like some normal siblings but now it's to the point where I actually honestly hate her. I actually sometimes wish she was a guy so I could beat the piss out of her. She has this attitude where she thinks she's better than everyone else even though she's a loser. She has 3 beautiful kids from 4 different scumbag deadbeats she dated that my parents have custody of because she can't take responsibility for anything. The thing is she always runs off with a different guy every few months and just disappears for months or sometimes years at a time and won't talk to my parents or her own kids and then just show back up and move in with my parents again when her little fling is over. Everybody else I know that knows her hates her and I used to get pissed but now I agree with them. My sister is the type of person that will bully/do or say something messed up to someone and when they defend themselves or give her a taste of their own medicine back she loses her mind and will go out of her way to try to ruin the other persons reputation or life like a psycho. She actually tried making up a false story to get someone arrested a few years back and she got in trouble for it. SEE DETAILS Recently I just moved back in with my parents due to me losing my ob after living on my own since I was 19. Yesterday my sister moved back in after breaking up with her 20th or so Ex and she flipped out on me for moving back in. She tried shaming me like "your an effing 24 year old man, your not a kid anymore" I snapped on her because she just moved back in. Then she told me to get a job even though she hasn't had one since she was 16. I flipped on her and then she tried lying saying i punched her. Believe me I wanted to throw her out of the ******* window but I didn't touch her. Sorry for the rant but I honestly hate her.is this bad? |

Question: Is making $200K bad? Posted: 05 Jan 2019 08:35 AM PST i will get a phd soon and my 1st job offer is $200K in Dallas plus 30% bonus. Parents are mad because father is making over $1.2 million in a small public company as COO while mom is making $850K as a chief executive in a local hospital network. They said i would be a bottom feeder and expected me to make at least $300K, they wanted me to reach half of what mom made in 10 years. I feel ashamed. I need some experience working professional's advice. Can I be out of bottom feeder in 10 years? |
