Question: I am meeting my fiances 2 kids for the first time next week....? Posted: 09 Jan 2019 02:25 PM PST Their mom is bringing them down to Georgia, where we live, for 2 weeks from New Zealand. I am only 20 and I have never been around kids that much before. I am a bit nervous as I want them to like me but I am scared they will naturally hate me as I am the step mother. My fiance is trying to tell me that it will be no problem and they are nice kids and understand that I make their dad happy. But I know their mom doesnt like me as she told me she didnt because she feels I am too young for her ex husband because I am 20 and he is 39. So I am scared that she has poisoned them before I even met them. They are 8 and 12, both boys. Also, I am from a home with divorced parents and I remember how I hated some of my dad and moms new relationships. I hope they do not feel the same way about me. Has anyone been through this and do they have any advice? Thanks. |

Posted: 09 Jan 2019 01:14 PM PST My father would sometimes beat us. Badly (sit on top of us and bang our heads into the floor until near unconsciousness) . I can recall being beaten as well as seeing both of my sisters beaten. Not daily, but it was perhaps a few times per year. He was also verbally abusive. Being called ugly, stupid, "no one would ever want you", etc. was common. We never discussed it between us until I was 50 and it came up. One sister recalls what I do, the other recalls none of it. Why would this be? |
Question: How can I help my sister ? Posted: 09 Jan 2019 11:56 AM PST My sister is 12 she'll be 13 in a few months she and her boyfriend recently found out that she's pregnant her boyfriend is twice her age. She said she doesn't know what to do right now I told her to get an abortion she said she doesn't want to kill her baby. Her boyfriend is really nice he's one of my best friends but he's old enough to be her dad he's 42 years old yet she decided to have sex with him she said this isn't their first time. She's been with him for 3 months. She said she's not leaving him. She's not in a good condition to raise a kid at her age she's suffering from depression. How can I help her ? |

Question: Does my mom see me as a threat? Posted: 09 Jan 2019 11:17 AM PST This might be long but she is over weight and I am average since she is over weight she see's me as skinny she used to skinny shamed me a lot tell I snapped for her doing it cause I just got so fed up with it I know she see's that part as a threat but the rest of how she treats me sometimes. When my brother and nephew comes over I know she thinks I don't enjoy it as it's obvious I didn't really when we didn't get a long at all but we get a long now so he doesn't bother me anymore maybe she doesn't see it? Even when she does it doesn't really change anything. I am trying to find a job I bring in social security money right now I know secretly she wants me to not look for a job because the money will go down when I do but I want my own place badly and have to think for myself I'm not in a wheel chair or anything like that I just had a hard time with keeping up in school and had extra help with work since I always been a slow learner. I like wearing t shirts and sweats I am a Tom not don't like make up and sometimes I know she wishes I dressed cuter more often she doesn't say anything I just sense it, I would love to talk to her about it but I feel it would just start a argument. When I try to talk to her about things she is offended most of the time. It doesn't bother me like it used to but hurts sometimes I just want advice. |
Question: Why do girls love hugs ? Posted: 09 Jan 2019 10:11 AM PST My sister is depressed whenever she's sad she always wants me to hug her. Why does she love hugs ? |
Question: Any idea why my mom did not tell me about this? Posted: 09 Jan 2019 10:03 AM PST I was visiting my cousins (my mom's sister's children). They were showing the family picture album. It has pictures of my mom when she was young and was she ever beautiful. WOW. I told my aunt that I had never seen those pictures and I thought my mom in those pictures was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. My aunt said "If you think she was beautiful then, let me show you some of national magazines she modeled for". Moms pictures in those magazines just blew me away. I had not idea mom had ever been a model. She had never told me about that? I ask my aunt if she could make me a copy of mom's pictures so I could put them on the wall in my room and she agreed to do so. Do you think my mom would have a problem with her daughter putting her mom's pictures on my room at home as I am so proud of her? Can anyone think of a reason mom never told her daughter she was a model and had appeared in national magazines? |
Posted: 09 Jan 2019 09:49 AM PST I still have some of the childhood anticipation then Mom and Dad are all good. They let me down emotionally. It is about emotional support, not physical stuff. Also they hold grudges within the family and my Mom gossips chronically. |
Posted: 09 Jan 2019 09:48 AM PST She gives the silent treatment for a few years at a time and bans her kids from seeing her enemies. 5 Years is her record for longest silent treatment. |
Question: Why does my mom feel the need to let everybody into our business? Posted: 09 Jan 2019 08:14 AM PST Me and my mom don't have the best relationship. This has been happening since I was 7. I'm now 24 yrs old. Every single argument that my mom and I get into, she feels the need to let everybody know. My whole family and 5 of her friends. So then, she turns my whole family against me and talks crap about me to her friends. It's annoying because when I need my aunts help on something she gives up. No longer wants to help me, and it's not even for me particularly, it's for my baby. Rather than my mom and I working things out ourselves or even to keep it between a few people at least, she gets too many people involved. I'm not even comfortable telling my friends every single time me and my mom aren't getting along |
Question: How to comfort your sister when she's crying ? Posted: 09 Jan 2019 07:03 AM PST My sister had a bad dream that I left her she was really upset she wanted me to stay with her I had to hold her almost all night. I don't know why she had a dream about that. I hugged her told her I wasn't going anywhere she still cried. How can I calm her down ? |
Question: Daughter keeps using me as an adult ATM? Posted: 09 Jan 2019 06:13 AM PST She's 24 and finished her final degree at uni last September 2018. I have supported her through it all financially. However, she is not well and has hospital appointments soon and is claiming sick benefit, but how long should I keep paying out for her? I thought by now she'd have a fantastic job and could pay me back. I worry about her every day too. She lives in a room in a house 250 miles away from me. |
Posted: 09 Jan 2019 05:06 AM PST I simply said "How was Spain and Portugal" not knowing it was a secret trip. His wife knew and was furious as another woman was on the trip. Uncle's sister went so it couldn't have been too scandolous though it did seemed weird he was so social with this other woman. No idea if anything happened or not. His sister was not comfortable with it either but supports whatever her family members do if she likes them. So did I do wrong when I asked at Thanksgiving how the trip was? I did not know and no one said "it is a top secret trip with a possible mistress". The trip was back in June but I had not seen the uncle since other then briefly once. His wife is passionate about the grudges she holds as they are near and dear to her heart. My Mom is the same way with my Dad helping her. That said, I like his wife and she is a good person. Did I do wrong on Thanksgiving by asking? I have not seen them since but they live 6 hours away. |
Posted: 09 Jan 2019 05:01 AM PST He is very arrogant. |
Posted: 09 Jan 2019 05:00 AM PST Like last night she told her mother something mean that had been said about her mother by someone else. She repeated a medical rumor about someone. She gave dirty slander about a relative gossiping too much. She revealed someone who is getting divorced that I did not even know about. And lastly she revealed to a friend that her brother and his wife had separated for a time last summer (they are now back together). ALL GOSSIP Marking anonymous so not to have anyone know who I am talking about since I seldom gossip. How do I get my mother to see this in a respectful way? |
Question: My dad threatened to leave me in Florida if I report him to the police? Posted: 09 Jan 2019 03:37 AM PST We've been at WDW here in Orlando for at least six days now. I really want to just go back home, but my dad says that we're staying here until Friday until his business stuff is over. I haven't even been to school since the winter break. He's been really angry lately even though I've done nothing wrong except when I let the maids come in the clean the room I threatened to report what he did to me and the girl who keeps staying with us and my sister and he told me that he'll just leave me here in Florida. I really just want to get back home and feel normal again and I really miss my mom. RIP ASHLEY. |
Question: I need advice regarding an argument I cant talk to anyone else about, help? Posted: 09 Jan 2019 03:16 AM PST Me, my sister, father-in-law, and husband were in the car driving home after my husband went in to get cat food. I asked him to get only one can and he proceeded into the store. When he got back he had 8 with him. I was upset, a little irritated, and a bit confused why 8 because its a lot because we only gave half a can a day to our cat because she couldnt have the hard food. I asked him why he got 8, we cant afford that? (My sister jokingly said yea that s a lot). Before he could answer my question, his dad raises his voice (not yelled) and tells me to stop criticizing him. I was shocked and stated I wasnt criticizing him I was... He briefly cuts me off and says if I had a problem with it I should have gone into the store myself and got it and its a waste to get any at all because its a cat. My husband said nothing, did not defend me. He simply stayed quiet. We had a huge argument after and I explained while crying how wrong it was for his dad to do that. And he at first thought his dad was not in the wrong and then he agreed with me. Since then though the conversation was brought up and it doesnt seem like he really believes his dad was wrong... That he only agreed with me. We have been together 5 yes, married 1. I need an unbiased opinion of the situation please? Was I wrong? |
Question: One identical twin becomes a parent ,would the other twin be a parent (two)? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 08:30 PM PST |
Posted: 08 Jan 2019 08:14 PM PST Me and her doesn't see eye to eye she doesn't allow me in hers and since that I don't allow my kids to go anywhere I'm not "allowed" she doesn't really have a reason to NOT like me and I feel as the issues are a bit childish on her end. But she never makes effort at all, & this is actually hurting my husband. |

Question: How to explain to my young daughter that money is hard to get? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 07:55 PM PST Whenever I take my daughter(11 yrs old) to the store, she always ask for this toy or this toy. Some toys cost $100+, so of course, I can't get it right away, but then she'll throw a tantrum. She does this will toys, going on vacations (like to Disneyland), and clothing. I'm her mom. I can't let my 11 yr old work at mcDonalds, of course. So how do I teach/explain to her that money is hard to get? Basically, teach her not to be spoiled. |

Question: Mom wished me to die from cancer? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 07:44 PM PST I had an argument with my mom today. She was in our house and started to yell that the dishes are dirty in the sink. I told her that was tired with a baby and fall asleep and I can wash them now. She started just yelling, calling names and it looked like she wants to start an argument. Then she started yelling at my husband, tried to make fun of him, the way he walks (he has problems with his spine). At the end she told me that she wished me to die from breast cancer. Currently I have some pain in that area and I was scheduled for a visit at the doctor. I just can't believe a normal mother would say that...It is not a one time thing, cause she damned and wished me dead many times. I am thinking to cut off my relationship with her, otherwise she will tear my family apart. Can you advise something? |
Question: My mom threatened me to put me up for adoption. What do I do? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 06:31 PM PST My mom wasn't home so I responded to my urge. I took my clothes off and sat on the sofa. I felt very horny so I masburbated really fast. My mom opened the door and caught me by the time I was having an orgasm. She yelled at me and won't talk to me. What do I do |
Question: What to not say to someone who was adopted? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 06:23 PM PST My best friend was adopted. today we got into an argument, which was really heated. I probably said some insensitive ****? Idk. She treats her adoptive mother so so horribly. She says some horrible stuff to her. I told her everyone goes through a phase in their life where they fight with their mother, and she should stop being an ungrateful little **** because her mother literally does everything for her. I was really annoyed and pissed off because my mother died when I was 12. She was never there for me and it honestly mad me so angry because I would do anything to have a mother- daughter relationship. I told her she should have some respect for her mother and there's children in the world who have no parents/ or homeless. She acts like she has it so bad, like her life is an absolute living hell or something. It pisses me off. She told me I don't understand. Like at least you have someone who tries for you. Opinions? What are some things i should say or probably not say? |
Question: What should I do if my parents die? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 05:56 PM PST Should I keep on living or kill myself if my parents die, also people who had a death of a parent how did you cope with it. |

Question: My mom is accusing me of vaping? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 04:38 PM PST The other day, one of my puppies brought a vape pen out of my room. It was an 'essential oil' vape which has cinnamon in it. (She took it apart to look) I am deathly allergic to cinnamon, and my mom still thinks it's me. I share a room with my 18 year old sister, and my parents aren't accusing her of it. What should I do? |
Question: My sister yells at me every time I sing.? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 04:05 PM PST Okay, so my sister isn't my biggest fan. She always hates when I sing. And it hurts like hell. One night I was singing a song, and she screamed at me to shut up. I don't think she knows how much this actual hurts, because I thought I was singing well and her saying that stings. I feel afraid sometimes to be myself and every time she yells at me I think I deserve it, that I am not worth it. I have I always sing in my closet, but I wanted to record and the closet doesn't have any good sound quality. I tried outside she yelled, tried my parent's bedroom she yelled. I can't please her and it hurts. Also, I don't randomly break into song it's Broadway songs and it's once a day. Also, she doesn't look me in the eye, she yells from upstairs. Or even text me, she doesn't give it a second thought. |
Question: My dad told me his other daughter is not as beautiful as I am? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 03:47 PM PST We are half sisters. And he was never in my life much, and was in her life more than mine. What did that mean? |
Question: My mom always cries and it’s making me hate her? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 03:37 PM PST I feel like I can't talk to my mom about anything because every time we have a debate and we get into an argument, she always gets so emotional and starts crying and tries to play the victim. Then after everything cools down and we sit down to talk about it, she gets incredibly defensive and will never acknowledge her own wrong doing and just talks to get her point across but never listens. Then if I try to point this out, she starts crying again and calls me disrespectful (no matter how respectfully I put it) and it turns into this vicious cycle. There have been so many times where I say "I understand I was wrong here and here" she will just cling to that and when I ask her if she sees why I disagree with her, she just flat out says no she doesn't no matter how well I explain it. Long term, this has built up some resentment in me because now anytime she cries even if it's unrelated to me, I can never console her and I even get annoyed at seeing her cry. She's not affectionate at all to anyone in my family but is only emotional when she's crying and it's made me into a very cold person. So, I guess my question is, is there anything I can do to make her understand me more? I don't think it's depression because I'm an adult now and she's been like this her whole life. Also, is there something that I am not seeing that other mothers might be able to help me to understand? I wish I could be more comfortable around her but I don't ever see it getting to that point. |
Question: Is my mom lazy, or not doing enough? She’s a SAHM? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 03:28 PM PST Alright, maybe I'm wrong, but I'm just saying.. so, I'm 16. And I have a younger sister. She's in elementary. And my mom stays home while we're gone and my dad is at work. so first off, she doesn't have any kids to take care of. Secondly, when I come home, the house is a mess. And she asks me to help her clean a lot even tho I have so much homework, I still do it tho. Anyways, she's only ever has the house clean by the time I get home from school like 3 times a month. And then, she doesn't do everyone's laundry (for ex: I do my own, my dad does his) and like, she's always on the phone with her friends. And I wonder if she's talks to them all the time. She's also always reading. Just chillin and reading. Literally. And then she never gets ready either. She always showers right after I come home from school and barely starts to get readybefore my dad gets home from work. Okay and lastly, she like never has dinner ready! She's always asking me to help her make it around 5. Like what does she do all day? It makes me mad because I feel like she doesn't do enough. And she's always like we have to save your dads money and whatnot but like we could be buying way more things if she had a paying job. And plus, I thought ppl were SAHM to save money for some part of it. But I don't see how she is if my sister and I are in school. Alright sorry for the rant, but I've felt like this for a long time... |
Question: Would you do the same thing I am doing? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 01:12 PM PST When I was married to my first husband I worked to pay his way through college so he could get his degree. After our divorce he became very successful in his business and very wealthy. He decided to so something that surprised everyone. Every few months he sends me a check for $1,000 with a note that says this is just partial repayment for all your hard work you did to pay my college expenses. Without my degree I would have never been successful in my business. Please spend this money on something makes you happy. My problem is my current husband does not want me to take the money. He doesn't want me to have ANYTHING do to with my ex husband. I take these checks and buy zero coupon bonds that mature at my retirement age. That way I know FOR SURE I will have a secure retirement. I told my husband I would take money for ANYONE that wants to help me have a retirement fund. I just wish I had 5 ex husbands doing the same thing for me. I and my ex husband both view this as a repayment of a debt. If my current husband does not like it, he can POUND SAND. My gal friends that are divorced told me I should give an award to my ex husband as the Best Ex Husband in the World. You should hear what they tell me THEIR ex husbands do TO them. What do you think of what I am doing in this situation? Would you do the same thing I am doing? |
