In addition, we both live in two different states. Back in July we had a talk, and first he told me that he doesn't want a relationship "right now" because there's a lot going on in his life. Few weeks later he confessed that he is currently dating another girl who's also long distance for 5 years, however things got rocky between them, especially once he met me, and how he was stuck between me and her but he's leaning towards me... For a couple of months this has been bothering me, and I FINALLY discussed it with him last night (better late than never). I basically told him that I felt uncomfortable that he had a girlfriend on the side, and he tells me that they actually broke up in October. Then I asked him what does he see us becoming in the future. And he tells me that short term he sees us still "talking" (not being official) but long term he sees us together. And idk why but that response doesn't stick well with me. First of all I HATE the "talking" stage and I even told him that. Because technically we are both single, you know? And there's no "clarity", if that makes sense. Is it just me? |

I say women cause I studied in an all girls school and took up communications after that, so most of my friends and colleagues are mostly female. It's understandable for it to happen during teenage years. But, even now, in my mid-twenties, I still see it happening with women around me. It's weird because these women are smart, pretty and come from well to do families, but many of them tend to settle for unattractive, dimwitted, or lazy/jobless men. It's okay if they only have one of those bad characteristics, but most of the time, they date men that have these trifecta of poor attributes. Maybe, it's because I come from a working class upbringing that I see things differently. I know how hard life can be when you're poor so if I do decide to one day pursue a relationship and start a family, I'd definitely like a smart, dependable man with a stable income. I also believe that you reap what you sow. If I work so hard to become attractive and presentable, and have a good career, then I'd definitely like a partner who'd do the same. So, I really can't comprehend exactly why so many of the women around me are settling. |

Then, I just felt embarrassed that i was tricked to suck up to someone like that just to polish their ego. I also feel worthless, deceived and used. This occurred 2 days ago and Im still experiencing these feelings (mainly embarrassment). I was so filled with regret.
