Posted: 28 Dec 2017 02:15 PM PST She said she had no money but would get a job right away. And she did. We had asked for $650 a month but she said she could only do 400$. So I feel like I got swindled into accepting that because she is my boyfriends family. For the first 3 months she didn't pay us saying " she had bills to catch up on ". I didn't say much. Now on the 4th month she payed us 200$ the first week saying the second 200$ would come after her next check. Ive seen receipts from her spending HUNDREDS of dollars on herself for a gym membership, tanning membership, about 300$ at jc pennys for workout clothes and 200$ at Victoria's Secret for undies and lingerie.. she's telling us she doesn't have money to pay us rent but she can pamper herself. We have the money to get by but money has been tight with her eating our food and running up our bills. Now, she also has a puppy. We have a puppy as well, they get along great together. The first few weeks were fine. But then things started to happen, for instance; there would be MULTIPLE pee spots when I got home from work that she claimed " she didn't have the time to clean "... she wakes up at 3, showers, does her hair and makeup and leaves for work at 5:30.......... |
Question: Little brother disrespects me? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 01:12 PM PST I'm the older brother and my little brother says smart alec things to me. My grandma said something and he said under his breathe "He should be on a leash" talking about me. My mom barely cares about me and won't make him apologize or punish him. If I touch him physically my mom will either kick me out or put me in jail. What should I do? |
Question: Please help: I don't know how to deal with my stubborn teen girl. (2)? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 12:56 PM PST I came to hate Canadian winter not because I don t like cold weather BUT BECAUSE I am tired of fighting with my daughter against dressing. She is super stubborn and doesn't listen parents advice especially when it comes to health-related suggestions. e.g. Today the temperature reads minus 19c (feels like minus 25c) She went to her part time work with thin sneakers on. She said it s fine because she rides a bus. But she does walk between home - bus stop - work place She does have a pair of fancy winter boots and I even offered to buy a new pair because they re worn out. She kept refusing because she basically prefers sneakers (Nike/ Adidas) and doesn t want to look like a looser whatever it means... Surprisingly she complains about her cold hands/ feet! ↓ ↓ ↓ -------------------------I asked an year ago: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20170227205836AAy7HUb |
Question: My mom is having a baby and taking all of my childhood stuff?!? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 12:52 PM PST i'm 15 year's old and my mom is pregnant from my stepdad which i'm not super thrilled about but it's fine. i planned on donating a lot of my old clothes from like 6-8 grade to charity to give back to my community, but my mom is saving most of the clothes for the unborn baby, even though it will take the baby over a decade to fit the clothes. and i really wanted to donate the clothes to kids who needed it! and my grandmother who passed away when i was three had a blanket made for me when i was younger, and my mom wants to take it from me and give it to the baby who is not even supposed to be born until june! and it's one of my only items i have from my grandmother. do i have the right to be mad that she's taking this stuff?! |
Question: Convince parents for me to NOT quit my job!! HELP? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 12:37 PM PST I'm a 16 year old male sophomore and work at AMC theaters as a Crew Lead.. My GPA is about a 3.1 and I'm in all AP/PAP classes and have solid A's & B's (which my parents are fine with) My parents, specifically my mom, want me to quit my job because she found out about me and a girl making out after work. This was only one time and I told the girl i wouldn't anymore.. I have maintained my grades while working and have had the job for nearly 8 months. My mom wants me to put in my two weeks but I really don't want to because this job is so much more to me than just a job. It's a place for me to get away from home and relax and almost hang out with friends.. I really enjoy it How do I convince her to let me keep the job? |
Question: Why do you think my mom uses these opportunities to put me down? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 11:54 AM PST I got pregnant at 18 and despite my parents telling me I had to move out on my own at that point and my bf leaving me and the state ( and avoiding paying child support all 18 years by moving state to state and never working much ) well I made it . I worked my way up to a decent job now making $23 an hour despite only having my high school education ,I own my own home and my son is now 21 and hes doing great too! He already on his own (him and his gf got a place ) and they are both already moving up quick at their jobs etc and ask me a lot for advice since I learned so much having to do it on my own with a child ha. It's very common to now be a sort of mentor after I was once a young /naive kid myself and I was telling my mom how proud I am of my son and how I am happy to help them and she will make a comment like 'well I'm glad he's made better decisions than you did . Remember you were so stupid and stubborn to get pregnant young and we're so IRRISPONSIBLE at his age and often couldn't pay your rent and never listed to anyone!' . First off, I never said I wasnt a hot mess! But that's why I'm so proud of where I ended up despite my family's kicking me out /little support. Also my mom didn't give 'advice' she 'critisized ' . Anyway, why do you think she feels the need to remind me of how I was 20 + years ago ?? |

Question: I want to move away from my family but they're making me feel guilty? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 11:21 AM PST I just graduated from college, I want to save money and buy a home, but my family is filling me with doubt about how I will fail and how it's wrong. Question: So, will Harry be invited to Thanksgiving at the Markle house? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 11:17 AM PST Apparently the Markle family did not like the royals being described as "the family she never had". http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2017/12/28/meghan-markles-half-sister-slams-prince-harrys-claim-royals-are-family-never-had.html I know, it is dumb, weak crap that does not matter. But, way to impress the new in-laws, right? |
Question: How can I protect my kids in this situation? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 10:58 AM PST Our living situation isn't very ideal. Our house is not currently liveable due to a plumbing disaster, so we're staying with a family member, a hoarder whose house is, quite frankly, disgusting. They have roaches bad and stuff piled up, they even have two junk vehicles INSIDE the house. Long story short, we've been notified that human services are coming to inspect the house after a complaint (with holiday guests, it could've been anyone). We hate staying there, I'm working nights and doing any work I can during the day to get the money to do my needed repairs and move back home. The room we stay in is clean, if crowded, and I take precautions to keep pests out of there at least. If human services come, I'm scared to death of having my kids taken. We're just so close to getting out.... How can I protect my kids??? |
Question: I don't know if I'm being emotionally abused by my parents? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 10:42 AM PST I am a teenager, and I'll admit that sometimes I'm disrespectful ( like every teen). If I say something a little snarky, my parents would scream at me and say comments like this " your a disgusting daughter" " u are never gonna stay married, a person like you" and that just ruins me. I usually cry and go to my room, it destroys my whole day. But i love my parents, they give me everything! But on days like this, I don't know what to do with myself :( where do I go from here? Please help! |
Question: Shorter than both parents why is this? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 10:27 AM PST My mom is 5'6 and my dad is 6'2. Im a girl and aim fully grown. |
Question: My dad's smoking again? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 10:24 AM PST So my dad supposedly quit smoking back in '94, but I caught him smoking about five years ago, and as of recent I've found him spending a long time outside and then coming in smelling slightly of cigarette smoke. Either that or he'll smell strongly of Axe, which I know my mom has noticed (and not liked). I don't know if my mom knows, and I don't really want to say anything to her because I don't want them to get in a big fight. Their relationship is already strained enough as it is and I don't like starting problems. I've talked to my brother about it and he doesn't think I should tell either, but I don't know what to do. He's noticed it and doesn't know what to do either, and we're both worried. It's his life and all, but his siblings have all gone through some pretty serious health issues as of recent, and I don't want him to fall victim to something either. I haven't been super close with my dad for a while, and I don't know if I should nip it in the bud and tell him I know, or if I should just let it go because I'll be out of the house next year anyway. What should I do? |
Question: What should I do? (Single mother with long-term boyfriend)? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 10:16 AM PST I've been dating him for 2 1/2 years. I have 2 children. A 6 and 7 year olds. His family lives in AL, 400 miles away from him and I. Since I've known him, he has spent 3 Christmases with his mom and dad in AL. This last Christmas (few days ago) I really wanted him to stay with the kids and I. He is the only male figure in their life, but he said he did not want to so he left to go to his mom and dad 400 miles away and is spending 2 weeks there on his paid vacation while the kids and I are left as he spends 2 weeks with his mom and dad. My kids miss him and I miss him. To me, Christmas is about children. I thought he would want to spend some of his off time here with the kids and I, but apparently I was wrong and am wrong. More details to the story is that the last time I was there in AL with his family was last Christmas (1 year ago) and it was disastrous because his dad tried to get in the middle of our argument and everything went south, so I decided that staying with his parents was not an option for all of us anymore due to high drama. I'm confused what I should say or do at this point? I get it, I'm only a gf. But I have 2 little ones who only have 1 man in their life (which is him, no biological dad there). No, him and I are not engaged. Please unbiased opinions? Thanks |
Question: My native American Grandmother hates my boyfriend? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 10:06 AM PST I took him to Oklahoma because she has never been off the reservation and I wanted her to meet him because I am truly in love with him and I want to eventually get married. So the day after Christmas we drive from Texas where my mom and dad live to Oklahoma Choctaw nations. We get there and she meets him and smiles but as soon as he opens his mouth and his Australian accent comes out her face completely changed. She was still nice to him but a day later she calls my mom and talks about how arrogant he was and how she didn't like him and that my mom and dad need to intervene. I value my grandmothers opinion because I love her and I have always considered her wise. But not on this...he isn't any of those things. I honestly think she didn't like him because of his accent. She kept referring to him as British even though he is actually Australian. My mom said she doesn't think that's what it is but she doesn't know why either as my parents both adore him. I dunno what to do because I want to marry him and spend the rest of my life with him but I want my grandmother to like him as well....maybe another meeting? Maybe if she gets to know him more? |
Posted: 28 Dec 2017 10:01 AM PST Need I stop talking to her all together ? Or communicate via text or email , so that she can read what I am saying instead of her struggling to hear what im saying ? Or limit conversations to short sweet and simple ? She refuses to get a hearing aid . It causes me anger and frustration to have to both repeat myself several times and yell. |
Question: How can I resolve young adult grandson staying with grandmother and causing issues? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 10:00 AM PST My nephew (24) lives with my mother who is 77 years old and helps out often and contributes to the household and is there at nights in case she needs help. We as a family take her to appointments, help her with the house and visit to keep her company very often. Part of the agreement he made to her and us (her children) to stay there for so cheap ($500 a month for everything including food) was to help take care of her and the house and be there for her when really needed, no parties, no smoking or drugs. The issue is his younger brother (20) who had come to stay 2 times now. Him staying was contingent to the same rules as his brother. But instead he kept bringing in cigarettes, wanting to drink alcohol (went else where as far as we know to drink, but still nagged and nagged to be able to drink there and have friends over to party), didn't pay for much of any of the food. Paid for nothing else. Complained about helping her out, had to be asked to do any cleaning up (said he shouldn't have to) and belittled my mother's feelings, verbally bullying her. When he lived there she was always upset at something he did or didn't do and the messes he left. He left the first time because we told him he couldn't have parties and smoke in the home (something that was never allowed, and my mother is on oxygen). CONTINUED IN THE COMMENTS |
Question: How deal with jerks at school? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 09:58 AM PST They always do stupid stuff and when they do it to me they make an excuse about "Your mom" and I remember I got angry once that I kind of threaten him that "If you do it again. I'll come to your house and burn it down." How can I deal with them? |

Question: When will my older sister grow up ? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 09:45 AM PST I am 13 and she is 15. My parents told me I am not allowed to watch horror movies in the livingroom when she is around because they scare her but my parents said it is fine if I watch them in my room. |
Posted: 28 Dec 2017 09:45 AM PST She said if she takes them in is like enabling my brother to not get better. If he hits rock bottom, it's better she says. Basically he's doing and selling drugs. It wasn't so bad until he started heroine and getting high on his own supply. Now, they use their kids as pawns for free food stamps which they convert to money for drugs. And claiming them on income tax season. But basically, the kids were living illegaly in each of they're school friends home. Without giving any help to the parents atleast for food or school stuff. Until dcf found out and took their kids away. My mom does not want to take the kids in because then it will enable my brother to look for them in her house and manipulate my parents with, "but those are my kids" to try to squirm inside the house. She feels bad for her grandkids though. They're in dcf custody now and in separate places with kids their age. While my brother and the kids mom living in the street and begging for help. They never wanted to get an education and started having kids at 18 living on welfare. Before it was only Marijuana they were selling to pay rent, now they got high on their own supply and with Harder drugs.. My parents have helped them through the years with rent, food, stuff for the babies, until they saw they were not thinking of ever reciprocating back. Now everyone turned their back on them. Even his old delinquent friends who he's snubbed before too. What's gonna happen with my brother's future? |

Question: My family knows I’m lying about where I was please help!!? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 08:32 AM PST I stayed the night at my girlfriends house lastnight and Mom knows about her (I'm gay btw) but my family doesn't know and my aunt asked me this morning if I was home lastnight and I said yes and she said oh really? Because your uncle went to your house this morning and your car wasn't there & he dropped stuff off on your porch. He came between 6-7 and I am never up that early so I can't say I had went to do something. And my aunt texted my mom asking her where I was lastnight and Mom doesn't know what to say either because clearly my car wasn't here at 6-7 in the morning. She would cover for me but doesn't know what to say. Can anyone think of an excuse as to why I wouldn't be home at 6-7 am or should I just tell her I lied? Which I really don't want to. |
Question: 16 yo. son spends all his Christmas money on candy? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 08:27 AM PST I gave my 16 year old son and $80 amazon gift card for Christmas. I discover he spent it all on candy. It's his money, so he can do what he wants with it, but I saw it as... kind of a bad decision. He could have bought a video game or something... But he spent it all on candy?? I told him I thought it was a bad idea, and he got really pissed and started saying it's his money, his preference, and therefore I need to f*ck off. He's telling me to never remark on what he got again. Should I interfere, or...? He's trying to make me feel guilty for trying to convince him to get something else now... LOL Yes it his money. But the bigger picture is that I'm attempting to teach him good habits. What can I do make him realize how to make smart purchases? Something that's useful, he could get... I'm worried because he's in 11th grade now and isn't really looking into smart investments for the future. What can I do? He didn't directly tell me to f*** off, he just told me to leave. I regret writing that. He swears (sometimes to me) but I am not too concerned with that, as he would never say such at school. |

Who would do that, i dont think its funny at all when someone gets hurt. |
Question: Need advice about life in general.? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 07:52 AM PST I turned 18 and my parents told me I had three options. They said you can get your own place, or pay us rent or they would co-sign for a new car and I can live with them rent free so I can make the car payment. They said they would choose the last option. The car loan is five years. I am making minimum wage. So after about three years they told me they wanted me to move out. I could not afford the car payment and rent payment so I let the car go back and started taking the bus. The bus was a nightmare I had a couple of transfers just to get to my job. So anyways I quit my job and got a job in walking distance from my parents house. I was still living there and looking for a place to move in. My parents got mad because my new job was a bartender. They said they wanted me to quit my job and they would let me stay with them until I found another job. I quit the job and then my parents would not give me the chance to find another job and kicked me out on the street to be homeless. I wish I would have moved out when I was 18 instead of letting them blind side me like this. Any advice? |

Question: Family member steals my valueable shoes from mothers house.? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 07:17 AM PST Ive been out of the city for months dealing with school and work. I always kept my valuable shoes at my mothers house. Old jordans, nike sb's, yeezys 1 etc etc. My sister moves into my mothers house eariler this year and her son comes over there on the weekends. i get on instagram and i see he has a pair of my brand new shoes on. i immediatly message him and my mother asking WTF going on and why he has my stuff on. he then says hes going to put them back. i ask my mom is any of my stuffs gone and she says yes. all the shoes are gone, but the boxes are still here. hes been sticking them in his bookbag and then taking them out the house every time he shows up. my sister is a drug addict and she cant repay me and shes not apologetic about the situation at all. her son easily stole about 10 pairs of shoes that are values at about 5k total. my mother went to his fathers house (where her son stays) and there not there either. i caught him red handed with the one pair online and i have messages stating what he done and what not. is there any type of legal action i can take against him, and his parents? mainly i want the value of the shoes hes taken from my mothers house. is it even possible for that to occur? someone please give me some advice ASAP! |
Question: Do I need to be more assertive, more outspoken or something else? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 06:17 AM PST I am a 22 year old female. I live with my family in England. It wasn't as bad when I was at college, but now that I have finished at college, I have been at home with my family for the past four months or so. My family are always snapping at me and I don't know how to defend myself. My mother especially is stressed for around 1/2 or 3/4 of the time. My sister can also be quite mean-spirited, especially towards me. It has gotten to the point where I am often afraid to ask what I want or to speak about what I want to speak about. I also want to be able to voice my opinions about what I feel passionately about (e.g animals), even to strangers. I want to be able to defend myself verbally and to be respected. Thank you. |

Question: How can i accept that my mom nd bilogical brother they passed away,i do always hurt..? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 03:12 AM PST |
Posted: 28 Dec 2017 03:06 AM PST My 20 yr old son & I have personality clashes. This happens often when we see see each other a couple time during the month. This evening my husband & I with 9 yearold son dropped him off at his part time job at the airport. He normally takes the shuttle to go to his part time but this time we gladly drove him there. Later, we swung by at the airport to drop off a drink that would help with his cold. This was my idea since his cough never seems to go away. We ended up waiting for him for almost an hour til he was done at his work. We took him home. In the car, his little brother was talking to him a lot in the backseat asking him questions about his job. His dad would chime in every now and then, asking questions about his work which he started a couple months ago. We seldom see him so everyone was eager to converse with him. The only thing I asked him during the drive was if he was drinking the ginger lemon drink. He said yes in an exasperated tone. Then he said, "will you stop asking me questions, can I just relaxed? I didn't say anything, my husband didn't say anything.Everyone was quiet for a few minutes until our younger son started asking him questions again. My husband also asked him a question which he answered with no problem. For some reason, when its me, he doesn't want to be bothered about anything. Like he does not want to hear from me. I'm at a loss. Do I stop loving my son? It pains me. This is not the 1st time he's made me feel this way. |
Question: Do I have to go with my dad? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 03:05 AM PST I am a 15 year old female. My dad gets visitation every other weekend and on Wednesdays however once I turned 14 the schedule was to be decided between my father and myself. He was never consistent with the schedual anyway. I have always hated going with him. We barley speak and he makes me feel uncomfortable and as if I dont belong. We often go to my half sisters (on my dads side) house. She is four years old. I dont think my father and her mom are dating but we go there anyway. She has two other daughters. One is 10 and one is 12. My father always compares me to them. He talks about how they always talk to him, make sure he is ok, help him, and are grateful and respectful. I am already struggling with social anxiety and any time I go with him it gets worse. Now, lets talk about my fathers personality. He is selfish and all he ever does is complain, whine and feel bad for himself. He always says stuff like "Nobody cares about my feelings." "You never call and check up on me." He expects me to be obsessed with him and how he is doing and anytime I do not act like I am, he definantly will not miss that opportunity to make me feel like a horrible person. He says that IM selfish and I only care about my self. I also have mild depression and going with him just makes it even worse. Do I have to go with him? |

Question: My dad puts us in trouble financially? Posted: 27 Dec 2017 11:23 PM PST our financial situation is really awful! my dad doesn't have a stable salary and we have lots of expenses. but the only one who doesn't accept it is my dad. he always buys unnecessary stuff! for example, he has bought 2 or 3 used TV! TVs that belong to almost 10 years ago! and lots of other useless stuff. and when we wanna talk to him about it, he tells us that we don't know the value of that stuff and we don't know how worthy they are, and calls us crazy. and he thinks that he's the only one with a brain and rest of us(4 of us) is crazy people who don't know anything. any idea how to communicate with this creature?! |
Question: I hate my dad, anyone else? Posted: 27 Dec 2017 11:09 PM PST So basically I accidently found out my dad was cheating a few months ago. Told my fam and we sorted it out. I was triggered but I forgave him and was actually nice to him after a few weeks. He told me he would never do it again, even promised. Things were good until I found out he was seeing another girl and messaging her through facebook. That was a few weeks ago. My dad has been married to my mom for 13 years. My mom is the perfect woman, she cleans the house, makes awesome food (she's such a good cook) and is really friendly and funny. It's not just that though. As a child my dad would offer me junk food and would create really bad eating habits for me. My mom would try to give us more healthier foods, but as a child i obviously wanted the sweets and junk over the veggies and such. I am now overweight because of this. Im am thinking of becoming lesbian because I don't want to have to deal with stupid people like my father when I get into relationships. When my dad cheated at first I was devastated because he was my dad, but he kinda broke my trust and I dont really give a **** about him anymore, just my mom and brother. Ehh, while thanks for listening to my "sob story". Fee free to leave advice for me, if you hate your dad, and if anyone has cheated in your fam and that story in the comments below. Just needed to get my feelings out. |
Question: Am I in a abusive home or is this Okay? Posted: 27 Dec 2017 10:59 PM PST Hello, I am 16 years old and apparently I got in trouble to my dad overreacted over a small thing and he grabbed the belt and hit me three times. On my leg, stomach and arm. I just noticed a bruise on my arm and it hurts a lot. I am crying so hard right now. I have no one to stay with me and I am a girl. Since I'm from Mexico there's nothing much I can do about it. I used to live in the US but I had to move because of compromises with my parents job. I sometimes get anxiety and I get too stressed. The only one who's there for me is my dog and that's it. PLEASE help me ! I need advice. Mexican people on my neighborhood think its okay and that I will learn but I think it's not okay when i got a bruise on my arm and when I touch it it hurts. My boyfriend thinks it's going to be okay but all I want is to die... |
Question: Why is it OK for a mother to say shut to daughter? Posted: 27 Dec 2017 10:55 PM PST I treated her dinner. I ******* spent my precious money on her. Afterwards, she goes "The food was awful, and it is a waste of my time to have dinner with you!" No, the food was not bad. She just said it to be the ***** she is. |

I'm fighting my thoughts, and feel a bit weird. Is this incest? I am a teenager, btw. Well... few of them I met maybe once. We live very far from each other also. |
Question: My mom's boyfriend is touching my mom in a way that makes me extremely furious? Posted: 27 Dec 2017 09:56 PM PST Sometimes when my mom and her boyfriend are arguing her boyfriend will sort of grab her in odd ways, it is hard to explain, but as in ways that will get her to yield, like squeezing the back of her neck. Another time he pushed her and he said "be careful!" when he did so. However small these things are they make my blood boil to no end and it won't be long before I tell him to **** right off with that bullshit. Do I tell my mom? They've been dating for some time, about 7 or 8 years tops. I have to tell someone, because I have little tolerance for this ****. |

Posted: 27 Dec 2017 07:42 PM PST Any time my mom gets drunk or drinks alcohol in general, she always ends up yelling at my dad and shouting that she wants a divorce. is she just saying that because she's intoxicated or does she just get the courage to actually say how she feels? in general, they seem happy and good together, but then again, people can/do fake feelings. i'm really worried and scared and i don't know what to do. |
Question: How to stay positive with negitive people? Posted: 27 Dec 2017 07:34 PM PST I m still a teenager for another year, living with both my parents and older sister. All of them are negitive all the time and yell and curse. I find this emotionally draining. I am trying to become a youth pastor and find it exhausting when they complain all the time. Posted: 27 Dec 2017 07:13 PM PST I just realized is this not normal? Question: Can I teach my sister how to drive even though I’m under 21? Posted: 27 Dec 2017 06:20 PM PST I'm 18 and my sister is 17. She currently is learning how to drive so she can get her license. She took her road test once and failed, so she's taking it again soon. My dad drives a Mercedes and i drive a Honda Civic. Since my dad is always busy at work, he never has the time to teach my sister how to drive. Instead, he wants me to sit in the passenger seat while my sister drives. The thing is that you have to be over 21 to do that, correct? I told him that I'm 18 and I'm not going to do it and all he did was yelled at me. He called me selfish and blah blah blah. He said "just drive slow and the police won't get you". He said that I'm selfish and if i don't do it, he's taking my car away. I don't know what to do! |
