Question: My uncle is always grouchy despite being sober now. Should I just avoid him? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 01:51 PM PST He used to be an alcoholic but he's been sober for several years. His son is now acting like him also. |
Posted: 29 Dec 2017 01:48 PM PST I grew up with my mother, father, and brother. Most of my life, my father would beat my brother and I up because we "go against his will". He wasn't the type of father who would beat up his wife and children after a long and hard day of work or because he was drunk. He would best us up because would fold a towel wrong or drop a cup. Literally, things like this deserved to get punched in the face. My mother never cared and she is also is schizophrenic who never too any pills. A couple of years ago, we moved out of my father's home and it was he'll living with my crazed mother and brother. When my mother would go to work, my brother would beat me up because of things that happened years ago. Honestly, I have no love for my brother and my father. Idk if I hate my mother. I feel like I'm wrong for hating them? Maybe I'm too nice? |
Posted: 29 Dec 2017 01:48 PM PST My father-in-law is wonderful but the guy who abused me as a child also had the name Oscar. |
Posted: 29 Dec 2017 01:48 PM PST My biological father sexually abused me when i was ages three-six. I'm fourteen, so I haven't seen him in a while. I miss him. He asks how I am, says he'll give me things, says he'll work on getting a court order to see me, but its been two years. I think he says all that stuff because thats what real dads say when they want to see the daughter they ****** up, I don't think he means any of it. I hate myself for it, but I miss him. I might just miss having a father figure, tbh. I have a stepdad but he's mean and we don't like each other. I don't have a dad, I have three abusive brothers, but my mom is great. Somehow, i always obsess about my dad. I miss him.. I miss having a dad. I want a dad. I want MY dad, a dad for my own that I can laugh with and smile with, and have small arguments that wont **** us up for weeks. I don't know how to get through this. I know there are plenty of other reasons for me to be depressed, like I have food (somewhat) and a roof (kinda), but I can't stop myself from missing my dad. I don't exactly know why I'm on here, or what I'm asking. Can anyone give me advice, or try to cheer me up? Im desperate... thank you. |

Question: So, what would you do in this situation? Bf mom? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 01:36 PM PST So, long story short. Engaged 5 years, starting Dental School next fall. Only child, fiancé. Mother in law is sooo attached to him, he moved with my parents 8 months ago, but we are ready to move out. His mom always thought that if we moved we would move to her house, what's the logic in that? We never promised anything, everytime I would tell her we would move to an apartment she would change subject and ignored me. Now she is saying that I promised, and making a big deal of it. We are moving out to an apartment, being together for 5 year we feel it's about time. Fiance now has a semi okay job, and we can afford it, plus I will be in school, and I need my space to study. So he had a huge room collection at his house that he has used since it was bought 10years ago. We bought a new mattress 4 years ago, and that's what we have in my parents house. Now his mom says we cannot take his room collection. I mean I am happy putting the mattress on the floor, who cares. We have 0 furniture too. She has given away furniture to relatives but never saved nothing for her son, because she always thought he would move back into the house. She called my mom this morning, and she was like, "your daughter told me that she would this and that..." I mean, and she told my mom about the room collection thing, and my mom kept telling my fiancé, not to take it, and leave it at her house, and not go there to get anything. I mean we have nothing, and no money, besides the rent etc. |
Question: Do my parents love my brother more than me ? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 01:24 PM PST I'm seventeen years old and I have an older brother who's one year older than me and I feel like my parents like him more than me. He seems to have everything going for him, he's good looking ,goes to the gym and has a really good muscly body, he's got a pretty girlfriend too. Whereas I'm the exact opposite. My Mam and dad are always so worried about him all the time and it's beginning to get on the nerves eg what will I make Tom for dinner or what time will he be home at. My mother has saved some money since we were born and she gave it to him to buy a brand new van and an engagement ring for his girlfriend. I'm in my last year of school and all my friends are picking colleges and career courses to do and I have no money to do anything. I'm trying to find a job btw. My parent don't care about my education all they say is "what's the point in school" and "go find a husband" this really upsets me as I want to be successful. I passed all my exams and in fact I did really well but it still means nothing to them I'm beginning to think I'm worthless. They always just talk about my brother all the time any ideas on what I should do I'm not trying to feel bad for myself or anything I just don't understand why all the attention is on my brother |

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 12:49 PM PST I'm the youngest and while on break I cleaned the house while my brother (20) still lives with us and he always plays on his xbox and my mom is always yelling at ME because I don't clean but I do, while my brother just sits around and does nothing, my mom always seems to be happy with my brother and is always "appreciate" what he does when he does nothing.not only that but she tells everyone how lazy I am and how when I get marry my house will look like ****, first of all she's not even gonna get involved in my life once I'm done with school. |
Question: What to do when your family hates you? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 12:10 PM PST I'm a 30 year old guy that isn't perfect. I live with parents so yeah i'm a loser. People and family seem to judge me for everything. I keep to myself but it is i am criticized for everything. I also deal with anxiety and depression. I have been suicidal but my family doesn't take it seriously. I have always been somewhat, of a quiet type of person until you get to know me. If i speak up for myself i am the bad person. My mom now act as she hates me, and i have always felt she understood me better than others in the family. Is suicide my best option as no matter what i do people hate me. Posted: 29 Dec 2017 12:08 PM PST She just wants to be cremated. No other family members but just her son and daughter there. And she feels like nobody should spend no money and no service and no casket. She says she will die happy like that. And I'm afriad that family members will think bad about me? |
Posted: 29 Dec 2017 12:02 PM PST For a very long time I have felt like an outsider. It's like no one will talk to me volunteeringly, even my family. And when they do it's not for long. My older and younger sister both mock me 24/7 and laugh at me, and I feel like such a joke. When I finally decide to fight back, they continue to laugh at me. I know they probably aren't doing it on purpose but because of this I'm scared to include myself in conversations and I just feel so alone. They never make fun of each other as much as they do me. I'm the joke of the family and I can't stand it. I feel like I don't deserve to be given a bed or warm clothes. Any tips on how to impress everyone and not be the joke? I know I should learn to laugh with them, but when I do, they find something that can make me not laugh and feel awful. |

Question: Im 21 and my mom is mad I want to go on a trip with my bf-- what should I do? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 11:29 AM PST I am 21 and live at home while in college. I have been dating my 23 year old bf for over 6 months. We are going on a trip with his friends to visit one of their friends in a different state. Its a 3 night trip. My mother freaked out when I told her. She is no longer talking to me or my bf. She said that even if we cancel the flight she wont talk to us. She said if I ever marry him she will not come to the wedding and that she hates him. Prior to this, my mother loved my bf. He is the sweetest guy and just wanted me to get a chance to go somewhere neat on a trip. Im so conflicted on what to do. And i wonder if this is an extreme reaction from my mom. Im the middle child and one of 2 girls. I make good gradea and am almost done with my degree. Im usually my moms golden child. What should i do?? I want to be mature about this and I love my mom. I just feel this is unfair to my bf and me. |
Question: Why does my mother financially support my sister but not me ? HELP!!!? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 10:54 AM PST I'm 24 BTW . I have two sisters . my mom has always treated them better . Infact she kinda emotionally abuse by my own opinion. My sisters think they can treat me how they want because of this (I don't speak to them BTW) . one is 25 The other is 31. And my aunts were always mean to me ever since I was a young for no reason (I have about 8 aunts) . anyway my oldest sister persuaded my mom to take out a loan to cover her ex bfs bail and living expenses( 1700 is deducted per month from her salary to pay back for it) . my older sister never went to school and has been successfully (and with failures too)and questionably( as in I'm not sure actually works at all: or she gets questionable contracts to work for friends of hers). I'm going to school BTW and busting my *** to save whatever money I can get to pay for my everyday life and a small loan and dentist I have outstanding money for . my mother would make an argument even if I ask her for a $100. Tomorrow is my birthday and she promised $400 but like always is retracting what she said and said she cannot give me all that money. And BTW she now left to collect an cheque from a loan from the bank!! . what is really going on here ???? I was my moms best behaved child ,im not the most successful one as yet .but im quite talented and smart and hope to be. And yes I'm trying to get my life in order to move out later and hopefully. BTW I don't want to be financially supported by my mom at 24 but the help out would be nice. |

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 10:38 AM PST My brother and his partner are going on a date tonight he wanted me to watch his one week old daughter but he's not sure if he can trust me I told him he can. He doesn't know what to do right now it's after 1:30 he's got till 5 to figure this out. Why can't he trust me ? How can I make him trust me ? |
Question: My dad's forcing me to change job? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 08:35 AM PST So I've been working part-time in a bar for the last year (I'm 20) and lately have grown tired of it. The main reason I haven't left is because I like spending time with the people I'm working with, but when I go in to start a shift I just feel dread. Because of the time of year I've been given a lot more shifts to do and that meant I spent little time with my family and girlfriend over Christmas and the upcoming New Year. My dad's sick of me working there and coming in at 4am and actually went out to a garage and got an application form for the place. He wants me to fill it out and apply, but it's not the job I want to do and would much rather stick with the one I have. Should I go ahead and apply for this job my dad wants me to do or stick with the one I'm partly happy with? |
Question: My parents make me sick? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 08:23 AM PST I'm 16. My parents hate each other but they can't afford a divorce so we're all living under the same little roof. They're so mean to each other and I hate to make anyone feel bad but they have totally opposite opinions so when I except one's the other parent has a go at me. It makes me upset when people don't get along and I've been feeling physically sick and that's the only reason because when I'm at school I'm ok. I try to help them work it out but it always ends with more shouting and me being told off. Am I bad daughter for trying to make them be happy together? |
Question: I always lock up my room even though im not doing anything suspicious? Question: Daughter choosing friends over step family holiday gathering.? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 06:15 AM PST I am really struggling with how to deal with this. My wife is very upset that my 20 year old daughter is choosing to attend a friend gathering instead of my wife s side holiday gathering. My daughter has the opinion that she doesn t need to develop relationships with her step-mom s siblings and their kids, etc. She will just go to this party and not know anybody and not talk to anyone. I understand her concerns and realize this was not her choice to be in this new family situation. Looking for answers from anyone who has experience in this situation. |
Question: How can I convince my mom to let me put a TV in my room? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 05:52 AM PST I really want one, but she thinks I'll be spending 10 hours a day there, withdrawn from society and not doing my homework. I said that I just want to watch TV in private, but she still said no. Help!!! |
Question: My neighbors are loud and obnoxious. What should I do? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 05:50 AM PST I live in an apartment complex and my neighbor below me is always yelling. She yells at her kids and one day she told her 10 yr old daughter loud enough so that I can hear her , "I don't care how embarrassed you feel out that bra on before you take a nap." Was it necessary for the mom to be so loud? I heard the little girl cry afterwards and sometimes the mom yells at her outside too and she will say "stop crossing your arms it looks bad." Or " I don't care if your brother is teasing you, you better not take your bra off until bed time." I MEAN damn. The mom just has to embarrass the little girl and be so loud. I am a college student and my parents pay my rent which is $550 a month since I have a 1 bedroom and 1 bath apartment. The apartment below me is 3 rooms and 2 baths. The neighbors are especially annoying between 7am and 745am and 330pm to 4pm. I also smell a nasty smell when I walk down the stairs and I think it is coming from their apartment and I smell like it when the kids are not there. How can I get my neighbors to shut up? |

Question: Is My Older Sister "Normal"? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 11:37 PM PST -She's 17, almost going off to college and still makes my mom sleep in the same room as her because she's "scared of ghosts." -She wanted to skip math finals and take it when she gets back from winter break because she doesn't get her calculus class and attempted to make an elaborate excuse to explain her absence, but she decided not to go through with it. -She always adds random people from our school she doesn't know at all on Facebook because apparently "that's how you make friends." -She has an obsession with thinking that her head is too big or lumpy when it's not, and she tells me she is jealous of my "normal" sized head. -She randomly barges into my room, takes something, and then leaves without saying anything. -She gets offended really easily, I was just checking her grades out of curiosity on Aeries because our grade books are linked and she accused me of checking her grades to feel better about mine's but I actually have pretty good grades. -She sees two fictional characters on my online game kissing and she yells "EWW that's gross!" What kind of 17-year old still thinks kissing is gross? |
Question: How can I stand up to my mom? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 10:42 PM PST My mom has a bit of a temper. She gets really angry over really small stuff, and it at times gets a little ridiculous. Sometimes when she s all worked up, I try to just give her a little perspective and talk her down, and she gets mad and says that I m trying to "tell her how to be", and soon I m the one she s yelling at. Last week it escalated to her yelling at me to "f*** off" as she slammed her door and locked it. I love my mom, and I don t want to take the path of cutting her off or giving her the cold shoulder, plus I m not an adult yet so I can t really move out at this point. I just can t handle the way she reacts when I m not being bossy or rude, and am just trying to deescalate a situation. What can I do to maybe get her to stop saying these things to me without "cutting her off"? |

Question: Do you think it weird/stupid to sleep with a stuffed animal? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 09:42 PM PST I'm 19, and I recently bought a plush from the FNAF games, named Freddy. He's very cute, and I cuddle with him a lot and watch tv with him and everything. I sleep with him as well. My parents think it's very stupid and strange for me to do these things, but I'm the one that bought him, and I think it would be a waste of money to just have him sitting on a shelf for all time. Also, I've never had a girlfriend or anything, and I've had a desire to cuddle with something a lot recently, so I bought Freddy as a way to satiate those needs, and he really helps. I've read that most people don't have a problem with this kind of thing as long as it doesn't become a problem, and I agree with them. I also have very bad nightmares sometimes, and I actually had one the day that I bought Freddy, and I grabbed him off of the floor and held him against my chest, and the fear that I felt immediately vanished, and he's been sleeping with me ever since. He brings me immense comfort, and I wouldn't give him up for the world. |
Question: How to deal with your restricted Mom? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 09:41 PM PST Okay so long story short, mom doesn't want me talk to girls and whenever I do she keeps shouting and yelling at me, I just ignore her because I'm 23 and I have my own life, but she keeps taking my phone when I sleep and comes into my room every 30 mins to see if I'm talking to anyone. I really do whatever I want but this pisses me off, I mean come on.. How to deal with her? She's very stubborn and wont even listen to me, like literally she wont, the thing is I can't move out because I still study and I'm kinda broke so yea.. |
Question: I'm 19 years old and my parents still read my text messages? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 09:37 PM PST During high school, my parents were very strict. They made me plug my phone in at a certain time during the week and they said that it was for me to get sleep, but I knew it was really because they liked to go through all of my messages I came home for Christmas and I had hoped things would be different. But my mom is upset right now, and I've discovered it was because she read some texts I exchanged with my sister, who is a lesbian (they don't approve of that). I was telling my sister about some mean comment my mother made about her Also amidst those same text messages I was describing issues I was having with my boyfriend that are personal, and I know they read those too. So my mom is upset about what she found out when she was snooping. I asked my dad if he read them, and he said no to my face and then later admitted he did. They lie to me, they have no respect for me, they treat me like a child, and they use the fact that they finance my education to manipulate me What should I do? I feel like I am under their control because they pay for my books, my apartment, my car note, my cell phone bill, and even give me money for groceries. I do have a job but it hardly pays enough to even cover one of those things by itself Is there anything I can do to convince them that reading the text messages of their 19 year old is abnormal? They never treated my brother or sister like this and I have never done drugs, been arrested, and I rarely drink, and I make really good grades. going to live with my sister is an option, but I would have to go without school, a car, or a cell phone for a while |
Question: What steps should I take on getting my things back? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 09:29 PM PST Basically what happend is me and my mom got into a really nasty fight and she said she needed time to cool off I called my aunt and asked if I could stay there for a little bit my aunt agreed and I was living with for a few months but I went back to vist my mom for the holidays to make up stuff like that and when everything was done and I was going to go back I got a text saying that i would be better back with my mom I took it as she was kicking me out so i asked her why or did something happen worried that maybe something came up but she didn't answer I've been texting her for 3 days now and she still didn't answer me I checked her social media to see if something happend only to find out shes been posting for days . That calmed me down knowing everything is ok but made me mad cause I have important stuff over there and I need it back but she refuses to even answer me. When I say important I mean I have my wallet over there with all my personal info I've tried to call her but she doesn't pick up what steps should i take on getting my things back? |

Posted: 28 Dec 2017 08:49 PM PST my mom is surprising my half brother in school for his 13th birthday by getting him a cake. she was with his dad but spilt up after he was two (although they werent married.) my brother has his dad's last name and we were worried they wouldnt let my mom see him due to their different last names. his dad works dirving buses so they wouldnt be able to call him, and to make matters worse my mom's car was broken into and shes in the process of getting back her id and social card. could the school look up to see my mom is legally his mother? I do have my id and birth certificate but im not sure that would prove much. ( we live in texas) |
Question: How can I make myself uglier so men won't rape me? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 08:38 PM PST Hi, so about a week ago I was sexually assaulted and when I told my mom, she said it's normal for pretty women to be raped. She said I should feel happy that someone thought I was beautiful. I am 18 and am far from beautiful. I do have curves and a cute face but I have a stomach and crooked teeth and wear glasses. I'm a nerd but am happy with my appearance. I'm getting my teeth fixed in a month too. Anyways, How can I make myself unattractive? I have extreme anxiety about being raped and every time someone looks at me, I get so scared. Of course my mom says I need to be proud and not be anxious. See, she was raped when she was younger and her mother told her the same so I'm guessing that's why she thinks that way. The crazy thing is that my mom isn't even pressing charges. I want to but I feel like I'll be letting my mom down by downgrading myself. I know asking how I can make myself look ugly is downgrading myself but it's the only thing that will calm the anxiety. Please help, thanks. |
Question: Daughter choosing friends over step family holiday gathering.? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 08:10 PM PST I am really struggling with how to deal with this. |

Question: Who is better looking? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 07:35 PM PST The guy or the girl |
Posted: 28 Dec 2017 07:20 PM PST Background- I am almost 23, a full time student, have a part time job, live at home with my family, and babysit my 7 year old brother from the time he leaves school to when he goes to bed every weekday. The new year is coming up and I made plans with my boyfriend of two years. My parents initially did not have any New Years plans until about 2 days ago (a week before New Years) and now have booked a last minute skiing trip. They have invited my boyfriend, but his parents are here visiting from out of town, so I was also wanting to spend a little time with them before they leave. My parents booking this last minute trip also means that they will not be meeting my boyfriend's parents (which had been in the works). And yes my parents love my boyfriend, so this wouldn't be because they do not like him. I told my parents when they asked that I would not be accompanying them on the ski trip and they got upset, started yelling at me and telling me that I was going whether they dragged me crying into the car. They said that once I am on my own I can make my decisions. The thing is I cannot be on my own because I am needed to take care of my little brother. I am extremely frustrated and don't know what to do. My parents are constantly trying to keep me at home, and while I love them, I get so down about this. I am posting because I am honestly unsure about what to do with both the trip and just about my parents in general. Thank you for reading and any responses. |
Question: I don’t know what to do anymore.? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 07:07 PM PST Ok so I'm going to rush this, because I'm still semi terrified. I've always been the black sheep of my family, and I was used to it. I'm called everything from worthless to a waste of semen and my brothers even tell me to kill myself. But today my dad pushed me to the ground and attempted to throw me down the stairs. Now I've been slapped before but never anything like this. I don't think I can call CPS/DCF because I have no marks on me. I don't think I can live in foster care anyway. |

Question: My moms pissing me off about car insurance? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 06:54 PM PST After 2 years and 11 months of having my permit My mother finally allowed me to take my driving exam but I'm order to do that I had to pay $600 for lessons out of my own money because neither her nor my stepdad taught me anything. Now that I have my license she's 'giving' me her old car and had to register me onto their insurance plan. Their total went up by at least $300 and she said I have to pay the $300 a month with my own money. At first I was like whatever but now she's continuing to say I don't understand what they sacrificed and that I should be grateful but I'm the one who has to pay?? And I'm 18 almost 19 years old in my second semester of college. I commute daily and spend almost $96-100 in Lyft's a week so it's not like this is a big difference to my wallet I just have to pay it all at once. She keeps talking about how ungrateful I am and I need to contribute more to the household when I clean up after everyone almost daily and my stepdad does jack **** and whenever they argue she takes it out on me. Before she would take my phone away in high school but now that I'm in college she doesn't she usually doesn't buy any groceries for me(I'm vegan) so I have to eat out constantly(spending and wasting more money). Now I have a feeling she'll take away the car when she's mad and I'll be left with still having to pay the insurance no matter what |
Question: How can I convince my dad to get a job? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 05:50 PM PST He sits around all day, drinking beer and smoking pot. |
Posted: 28 Dec 2017 05:27 PM PST My sister and I are fraternal twins so we don't look alike. We also have different personalities. She is outgoing, tall, thin, she dresses really hipster and is really good with makeup, and she is articulate and good at socializing. Me on the other hand, I am medium size, I am an introvert, I have less friends than her. I'm not that good with socializing as she is. I also dress very casual and I consider my self a Christian, I love God..... I'm not jealous of her, I used to be but not anymore. Thing is I don't understand why I can try to be nice and considerate of others but still they favoritism my sister more than me. Even my little sister said she likes my twin sister more than me. Maybe because they think that she is cooler whereas I'm just plain and boring. Anyways I accepted it, I decided that I'm going to live life to the fullest. I just would like to know how I can break away from this feeling. Whenever I see my relatives treating my sister better than me and I hear them favoritism going her more than me, especially when I asked my younger sister and she said it straight to my face, I'm still affected. I just want to stop caring. |
Question: I feel bad about what I texted my mom? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 05:22 PM PST My mom and I do not get along, I moved out of her house two years ago because of her aggressive, manipulative behavior and least to say her DRUG usage. I believe she has Bipolar Disorder, as I am diagnosed myself. We fell out in July and I haven't seen her since, after she set me up by saying that she was depressed and when I got to her house and sat at her table, she started accusing me of stuff I did not do, and so on. She wanted to spend time with me Thanksgiving , but I ignored her text This past week she wanted me to come over for Christmas, and I ignored her text.Yesterday she texted me and I basically lost my cool.I called her a junkie, irresponsible parent, and that our relationship will never worked. She replied, "Well, I tried" The reason I said those things was because they are true and also I believe she murdered her husband and mother last year. Coincidentally the deaths were back-to-back. I feel guilty what should I do? |
Question: Is my mom a bad parent for having sex with younger men? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 05:11 PM PST I really dont know where to start with this. Basically i"m in highschool and my mother and father recently divorced. My mom doesnt seem to care much which is good and I am glad she is happy. Although one of the reasons for the divorce is her addiction to her phone. She is on there 24/7 with multiple men that are much, much, younger than her. One of them being a minor. I found all this out after looking through her social media when she forgot to log out one time. She talks to these guys about sexually explicit things and in multiple conversations says things like "last night was great". The story gets worse One of the dudes is like 17 or something. His parents found out about their "affair" and my mom may be getting arrested. The cops showed up to my house earlier today looking for my mom. Because she was at work they instead talked to my dad. All of this has taken toll on me. She spends more time on her phone than she does with me ever. When i bring this up all she does is get so mad. She screams and locks herself in her room. She says "okay i get it ill just kill myself". She also says she doesnt date any of the guys she talks to but in her dms she talks about a new guy breaking up with her all the time. She acts phsyco. I know some people may say "mind your buisness" or "Just wait a few more years and move out". But i dont want the rest of my childhood like this. |
Question: Why does my mom go out of her way to be vindictive? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 05:09 PM PST My adoptive mom was never married. Her career was her life. I have 3 kids and my husband is an over the road driver. I PAY her to watch my kids. She lives 1 mile away and its very easy for her to get here (retired). Whenever I give her 1-2 weeks notice of my plans, she purposely acts hateful/spiteful and schedules lunch dates with her weird/equally hateful friend Betty or decides last minute that she "has" to get her hair done OR go to a dr appt. I have missed many dr's appt's because of the lack of childcare after she flaked out at the last minute after saying she would watch the kids. I of course am charged a no show fee, which she refuses to pay. I have cursed her out, screamed at her, acted nice, pleaded, and so has my husband and nothing works. What is her problem? Could this be narcissism? She tells me "I dont care about anyone but myself, I have my life". |
Question: How do I detach myself from my mother? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 04:52 PM PST So long story short I got into my dream college and while that is amazing... I'm going to miss my mother. I know this sounds pathetic, but I absolutely adore my mother. She's beautiful and smart and I'm so lucky to have her in my life. She's a doctor and she cares for me with whatever issue I have so she knows everything there is to no about me. Girls have been so mean to me throughout high school and she's been my support system through it all. Every night I lie with her to watch tv and she braids my hair. No one will do that for me in college. My parents got divorced when I was two and it's just been me and her since then. I love her more than anything. I know it is not normal to love my mother like this but what can I do to detach myself from her? |
Question: Can a narcissist change? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 04:49 PM PST I'm almost convinced that my husband suffers from a form of npd. We've been married for three years, and it has been an exhausting, endless roller coaster ride of emotions. When he's kind and loving, life is beautiful, but then something will tick him off and he becomes this brooding individual who doesn't care whose feelings he hurts. Practically every holiday, he is rude and obnoxious to my family. I've witnessed it all: they try so hard to be nice to him, and he finds some way to make condescending remarks and/or faces. My 73 year old mother wanted to give us a $100 gift certificate so we could buy a new comforter, and he said in a snarky tone, " Thank you, but i was already planning on buying a $400-500 comforter later. How can you compare a $100 comforter to a $500 one?" How is my mom supposed to know that? She's struggling to make it as a widow and didn't even have to offer. When I later got upset with him and told him he was being rude, he said my family and I were way too sensitive. The latest thing he did was take a video of me against my will of when we were having an argument. I was trying to give our sons a bath and he kept recording me as I was telling him to stop. One of my sons started crying and he sent the video to his mom and mine via group text. I was so humiliated. He later told me that he and his mother were disgusted by my behavior because I made my son cry. I'm at my wits end and feel like I'm going crazy sometimes. Is it possible for him to change? |
Question: Do you like having a sister ? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 04:24 PM PST I hate my sister, i kno my friends like their sister but my sister thinks she queen bee. I need to work, go to school, pay bills etc etc and she just causes so many problems, she makes my life incredibly difficult. I have met some really nice girls that are kool, friends, but my sister is a total B. |
Question: My older brother is super passive aggressive towards me? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 03:45 PM PST I'm 22 and he's 25. He is always really passive aggressive towards me. He does some really rude and selfish things towards me, he excludes me from other family members trying to get all the attention away from me and on him and it's like he purposefully manipulates other people into not liking me. He doesn't speak to me, he doesn't even treat me like a human being. He always has to act like he is more superior than me and even if I try being nice to him he is just an asshole right back to me. He still lives with my parents but I've just been home from college for winter break. Sometimes I want to invite friends from my hometown over and he won't even let us use the xbox for a few hours. My parents bought the xbox for the house, it's not even like he can say its rightfully his. All he does is play video games constantly and he won't even let me have a free minute on it. Any suggestions on how to deal with this? It makes me sick having to live with this toxic asshole for a brother. The Xbox thing isn't the main focus, though. What upsets me is that he actively tries to make things difficult for me and has no respect for me whatsoever. |
Question: What’s it like having a sister? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 03:42 PM PST I'm a 23 year old guy and only have one brother. What's having a sister like? |
Posted: 28 Dec 2017 03:32 PM PST The oldest is 16 and youngest is 13. Obviously, the older one gets certain privileges that the younger one doesn't. I'm getting really tired of my younger one complaining about it. For example; I don't allow makeup until 15. Social media is not allowed until 14 and I have to be aware of every account that's made. I won't invade private messages, but I need to know the accounts. Dating isn't allowed until 15. There HAS to be adult supervision if you're hanging out with friends until 14, if not you need to check in as much as possible.Curfew is ten until 16, then it's 1AM. My younger one isn't mature enough and is always breaking one of these rules. She doesn't seem to understand that she is not the same age as her sister. She turned 13 last month and has started to become very rebellious. I think these restrictions are pretty reasonable, but now I'm not so sure. What should I do? |
Question: Is suicide my best option? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 03:31 PM PST I am a 30 year old guy that lives with parents, yeah i am a loser. I am not perfect as i have made stupid idiotic mistakes. I deal with anxiety and depression. When i'm happy nobody gives a crap. My family criticize me for anything they can. I keep to myself not just because i want to, but also because of a trust thing. As people tend to accept certain type of people. I am unemployed and i want to work badly. I want to move out and move away from my family. I have been put in jail having to do with family. So i also have a background, which doesn't help me any. I try and do good things and be helpful but nobody cares. What to do? |

Question: How do I get my sister to clean up after herself? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 03:20 PM PST How do I get my ADULT sister to clean up after herself? We share an apartment and she is the biggest slob I've ever met. She always leaves her laptop on the kitchen table, sneakers dispersed throughout the kitchen, dishes all over the table and in the sink, blankets all over the couch, purses and coats hanging on chairs... need i go on? Am I being unreasonable for letting this bother me? It drives me crazy and it always results in a fight every time I ask her to clean up. I can't stand messes and I don't think it's fair that I have to live in her disgusting conditions. Any advice? |
