Question: Is this behaviour still excusable at their ages? Posted: 24 Dec 2017 05:43 PM PST My friends are 26 and 23 but the other night we had a party at my place. And I noticed that took way to many shots of vodka and they both started acting different and took drunk pics. And they ended up blacking out that night. Now I myself am 34 but I don't recall doing this at their ages. |
Question: How to rebuild a friendship.? Posted: 24 Dec 2017 04:56 PM PST My best friend and I live together. Without going into too many details the two of us had a big fall out, not over anything nasty, more over how we are around each other. We both know we have an unhealthy friendship. Every time we've fallen out before we've not spoken for a few days, texted each other nasty things, had a 3 hour long talk then everything went back to normal, until the next fight. This argument is different because we are both on the same side. We both know our friendship is toxic and it's reached the point when we are shouting at the other one for caring too much or too little. We just started talking again today. Both of us are cautious around each other. My main question is, do any of you have advice on rebuilding a friendship but so that's it's rebuilt onto a more healthy friendship. Where we are not so dependant and attached to the other? |

Posted: 24 Dec 2017 01:36 PM PST I have a friend that I have known for about three years we hang out and have a great time but it seems like I'm Usually the one who initiates texts not 100 percent but 98 percent. I don't text her every day but probably two or three times a week to say hello and chat. Also keep in mind she is not part of the texting generation she is 55. Should I be concerned that she does not initiate texts? Or am I being paranoid? Other than that we get along great and seem to have a good friendship. But I watch this video on YouTube that said if a friend does not text you first then they are about to be a ghost in your life and it kind of freaked me out because I like hanging out with her I want to remain friends. But I'm also thinking maybe that rule does not apply if they're not a millennial? |

Question: Guy online being a c*nt? Posted: 24 Dec 2017 12:00 PM PST So a while back I joined this group chat on twitter and there was this one guy in it who made fun of my name. I said things back to him but he kep being rude so I sent a pic of him to the gc, he got mad and blocked me. This also lead to one of my internet friends blocking me too and sending hate. A month later I tried making peace bc theres no point in arguing but the dude was still being mean, shading mean, sent a pic of me to my friend saying that I'm the ugliest creature in the universe. I ignored him and like last week he asked my friend "why are you still friends with that b*tch" I dont understand his problem. Also whenever I'm trying to befriend him its like he says rude **** on purpose which makes him mad and when i defend myself he blocks? He has also made a lot of my friends turn against me. What the hell do i do?? |
Question: Friend is a realist?? Posted: 24 Dec 2017 11:55 AM PST So I have this guy friend and he says that he's a realist. I like talking to him most of the time, he's fun and all but when's feeling neutral or is in a bad mood he becomes a "realist". I honestly think this isnt being a realist but pessimissm because he ruins my mood too. He always says that he wants to die and that life has no point, he also has trust issues bc people have hurt him and his mom is mentally abusive. I try to cheer him up and tell him to not think like that but its like he doesnt listen. He has made me cry because of his views and i dont ******* know what to do. Help?? |
Question: What is wrong with people ? Posted: 24 Dec 2017 11:51 AM PST Seriously I add people on Facebook who I've been friends with went to school and 4 h with fir years they either take months to accept my request or they block me and don't have add friend besides them anymore. Even some of my own family 2 of my cousins did it. But other people like 4 or 5 of my closest friends who I had classes with and talk to everyday for years ignore it. Even people who graduated with me. One of my friends on Facebook is friends with everyone in the state she has 1,000 friends half those people I have are 137 friend plus my theater friends and some family I got 500 friends. I don't see how people on Facebook get up to 1,000 friends some of them have 2,000. One of my friends is one of my doctors now I went to school with her she's one of my new doctors the day after my appointment with her I sent her a request she message me and said " why are you trying to add me ? ". Really I went to high school with her for 4 years. I get messages like that from all of them like "do I know you ? " or " why are you adding me ? ". What's wrong with them ? Why won't they add me but the other girls that have 1,000 or 2,000 friends ? Note : I graduated 6 years ago Also my boyfriend has up to 900 friends but of course he's in a band sometimes I wish I was famous |
Question: How much information is too much to reveal when reconnecting with an old acquaintance? Posted: 24 Dec 2017 11:40 AM PST I recently found an old acquaintance in Facebook. 34 years ago, as I was passing through California on the way home to return to school, I met a woman my age in Yosemite, and for 3 days we hung out as friends...we were both solo, so it made sense. She was visiting Yosemite and California before returning home to Toronto to go to school to become a doctor. We exchanged numbers, and went about our lives. I reached out a few times that year, she never returned my calls...Fast forward 34 years, and I was going through old pictures and found her name on the back. I found her on Facebook, and reached out to her, sharing one of the pictures with her. She replied it was her and how did I remember? I explained I was going through old pictures, found her name and looked her up. I explained I see that she became a doctor like she said and to chat some time. She read it. No response. I reached out again with a few more questions. Read, no response. I then took a hint, thanked her for her time, and wished her happy holidays. Did I say too much? Did I do something wrong? Please advise. |
Question: I wonder if I overreacted over eggnog...? Posted: 24 Dec 2017 11:39 AM PST My aunt was over... We had a mini-lunch that included eggnog... Store one that I usually buy. I was chastised by both my aunt and my mom for buying it... I'm used to it, but still get it 'cause I like it... I offered some to my aunt, even a SIP, and she refused... but as she was leaving, she suddenly asked if she can take some of it with her to give to her friend and friend's family... I was kind of mad... When you want to share something you like with someone and they not only criticize the drink, but refuse to so much as have one sip, it makes you want very very little to give it to to them to give to someone ELSE... I wonder how others would feel? |
Posted: 24 Dec 2017 10:44 AM PST Had an acquaintance like that, and when she didn't get what she wanted, she started a smear campaign against me with others I know (it gets back). Then she has some of her flying monkeys emailing me for small favors. I didn't respond. What drives people like this. Is this common or am I just a poor judge letting people like this in my life? Real life experience - thoughts? |
Posted: 24 Dec 2017 09:33 AM PST me like cra*? I'm a decent person. Yet, they try to use me for their own advantage. AND covertly (it gets back to you) or overtly put me down especially when I disagree or they don't get what they want. I need so real life (list) of strategies to stop this. I'm tired of this and don't see it happening to everyone. Help? Ideas? |
Question: What could help cause me to overdose? Posted: 24 Dec 2017 09:16 AM PST I don't want to keep going anymore. I'm hurting and it's making my life hell. I know it might hurt some people but i can't take this pain anymore, i've been trying to get over it for years. My closest friend left me yesterday and told me to do whatever because my death wouldn't hurt her, and she proved it by showing me how happy she is without me. She was the only person that kept me motivated back in 2015 to stay alive but she's gone now and i can't do this anymore. I just can't. But i don't know how to end my life yet.. i'm sorry |

Question: My friend has been reading my text messages to other people? Posted: 24 Dec 2017 08:22 AM PST My friend who i also work with, has been reading through my text messages with my other friend and my brother and god knows who else. Cut the long story short - I work in a hairdressers so we get tips. I asked her to get me a drink but i only had £10 note and said can i have my change back she said yeah yeah thats fine. Later in the day i asked if she had got me a drink and she said she forgot so i asked for my money back and she said 'you didnt give me any money' so i was like wtf yes i did but she denied it. We went out one night, she was drunk and she openly told me that she takes money out of my purse but 'promises she puts it back'. Since then i have been on edge with her. Someone has been taking money out of the till at work and my other friend said it was the girl i work with as she keeps taking my money, whats stopping her from stealing out of the till. Well my friend lost her phone and asked to use mine to use her snapchat on, i said yeah whatever as i was in my bedroom while she was using it. Well she must have looked through my messages because she asked me why my other friend had accused her of stealing from the till and i was like tf so you've been reading my messages and she said 'no i saw the preview on your phone' but i have my notifications off so you cant see the message. What do i do about this situation? Do i tell my boss? |
Question: I’ve randomly started disliking my best friend for no reason. Help!? Posted: 24 Dec 2017 07:58 AM PST Lately, everything my best friend does annoys me. I don't know why, but I'm really starting to hate her! She hasn't done anything to me, though, so it would be an awful thing to do to cut her out of my life. Will these bad feelings go away, or will I never be real friends with her again? |

Question: Why am i such a big target? Posted: 24 Dec 2017 06:45 AM PST everywhere i go people like to pick on me and make fun of me. I know 4 people who cannot stop making fun of me constantly. These 4 already did really bad stuff too me but they feel like that wasnt enough and do more extremely bad stuff to me. they make fun of me to a lot of people and around crowds. this one girl talks about me all day and everyday to whoever shes around. the other girl brings me down when she is around guys or crowd of people but i notice she gets really frighten when i stand up to myself. and this one guy loves to post rude things about me on social media secretly and i wont find out till someone tells me. he has posted about me multiple times on social media taking off guard pics of me. hasnt he got enough after the first pic ?? |
Question: What do I do if My Friend And I Just Stopped Talking To Each Other? Posted: 24 Dec 2017 06:32 AM PST Alright so basically I'm still in high school and I have a friend that I met last year and we got along really well up until this year. First day of this year we were talking just like we did last year, but then after that we kind of just... stopped. I don't know if it was me or her, and we just kinda act like we don't exist anymore. And we have a class together so it's not just like we got separated because we don't have any classes, she legitimately stopped talking to me. Super awkward. It's to the point now that if I even make eye contact with her she turns away, and I can see her staring at me when I'm talking to someone. I tried to start conversations with her and stuff over Snapchat and she just did not have any emotion in what she was saying. And the worst part is is that she's been going through depression and stuff for the last year or so, she talks about having to go to therapy on her 2nd instagram, and I just want to be friends again, because I don't know if it's just her ignoring me and now it's too late because it's already too awkward, or if it's just an external problem. It really sucks, especially since last year she told me I was one of the fastest people to become her best friend. It's turned into an awkward mess that I don't think can be fixed anymore, but I dunno, maybe you guys have some answers. Thank you. :) |
Question: Worried about an online conversation? Posted: 24 Dec 2017 06:08 AM PST So I am in a support group for a sickness I have. I am newly diagnosed. I was worried about going to a party and spreading it so I reached out to the group. Most people gave information about how to stop the spread. But one woman wrote how she doesn't go out, and how she is afraid of doing certain things, etc. I replied back with a few questions, but was clearly alarmed at her response. I wrote something like "What?! You don't ever go out?! What about _____". When I woke up this morning, the woman's post is deleted. I am worried I made her uncomfortable or scared her. We aren't friends online, so I can't check up and make sure she's okay. I am really worried I upset her with my comment, and maybe made her feel bad, or something happened to her, etc. Am I over reacting? |

Question: How to call my friend out? Posted: 24 Dec 2017 05:16 AM PST I know this chick, she's always alone. She's half my height..about 5'4" probably and she's really chubby. I like her, she's nice but she's been claiming for the past 6 months or so she's dating this Italian guy. The way she talks it seems like they talk and see each other everyday. Just one problem.. I see her everyday. We live across the street from each other. &that Italian guy shes talks about doesn't seem to exist. Never seem him...never even seen a picture. The thing that really made me doubt her was when I saw her in the mall one day. She had told me earlier that day she was going to meet him, but I saw her in the mall eating a pizza ALONE. She was alone.. no Italian "dream boy"(as she calls him) by her side. How can I call her out without making her really mad or upset? I just feel like she made this guy up and he doesn't exist. I mean, she's always on Facebook but this guy apparently doesn't even use Facebook, according to her. I want her to just end this stupid charade. |
Posted: 24 Dec 2017 04:44 AM PST I found out who sent it. Everyone at my job agrees this was a terrible "gift" except for the giver, who will only offer empty apologies while defending giving it, saying she wanted us to have fun with it. She and the others all received nice gifts. I told her she owes me the $25 I spent to be excluded from an actual gift. I'd like opinions from non haters please, not from people who do this sort of thing deliberately for any reason and defend it. Did she send it with ill intent? Could anyone possibly have any good intention in this "gift"? I'm considering seeking employment elsewhere because I hate working with instigators. It's called a Dam mit doll, (no space) and I feel that my coworker is saying that she sees some anger management issue with me by this "gift". The book is the same idea. |
Question: I'm nice to people, but..? Posted: 24 Dec 2017 04:15 AM PST no one really wants to be my friend. No matter how many times I go out of my way for others, help them, or be nice to them, they still don't really want to talk to me..what is wrong with me? |
Question: He removed me off of Facebook? Posted: 24 Dec 2017 03:50 AM PST So I met a guy at work and befriended him there. He eventually quit because he was going to be moving about an hour away so once that happened, he added everyone on Facebook from work including me. We have chatted back and forth over the summer this year and within that time frame we met up at his hometown because my sister happens to love there too. We ended up hanging out, smoke, drank and hooked up that night. We shared a kiss after walking me home. The next day he asked if I was ok and wanted to hang out again before he goes back to his new home. I told him I couldn't because it was my last day spending time with my sister and so it never happened. So after that day, I messaged him about a week later if he was interested in hanging out again but he has no way of going back down to his hometown. He got lucky that one time only. I didn't mind I understand he's got a lot going on. So then, while at work, he popped up just to pick up his last paycheck and said hi to everyone including me, but I kind of ignored him especially after what happened and made things awkward. We haven't spoken in months and I learn he has a girlfriend now. Last night, I liked one of his post and he removed me from friends the next day. I know it's dumb to be upset over this but we were really good friends. I don't know why he removed me but I hope it's not because I ignored him. |
Question: Has anyone here know how to get rid of social anxiety or how to get better from it ? Posted: 24 Dec 2017 02:15 AM PST I hardly have much friends cuz its always been hard for me to make them let alone even having a conversation with someone.ive struggled with this my whole life and it has affected me so much I wonder why I'm even here if I cant even talk to ppl. All I do is make ppl awkward or uncomfortable when talking to me cuz I hardly know what to talk about :(I'm even scared of going to family parties cuz I'm scared my cousins won't like me and won't want to get to know me more or hang out and i would just be alone sitting with my parents.i sound like I'm worried over nothing but it's hard to be outgoing when your whole life you've never been taught to |

Question: Is this a good idea to gain the trust of her parents? Posted: 23 Dec 2017 09:43 PM PST I have been friends with her for 4 months and since this holiday we have considered each other more than friends but less than lovers(this is also by a contract we both signed.). But since the December holidays she was unable to hang out with me as her parents being overprotective. This was due to someone else's idiotic ways. Her family knows 2 of my family members quite well as they used to be her school teachers. But even that won't gain their trust. When it was her last day of College, we hung out and waited for her mom to arrive. Her mom greeted me but she didn't seem to be fond of me. Her mom just greeted me, and said thanks. Bare in mind we are both adults, I'm 20,she is 21 and we attend College together. But since her parents haven't gained my trust yet, I have thought of a way to gain their trust. My mom objected to this thing. But I have to make this decision myself as I feel my friendship with her is under threat. I was gonna go to her house on the day she finishes College, but then her parents declined. Here is my idea: I'm a Auxiliary Community Watch Patrol Officer and she knows about it but they don't. I have decided maybe I should come to her house wearing my uniform after my shift. My mom objected to this saying that it might make it worse. What do you guys think about this idea? I need to be with her before the holidays are done and I have to drop off her Christmas present. |

Question: How do I recover from my past? Posted: 23 Dec 2017 09:25 PM PST Generally speaking, I've been fortunate enough to have lived a privileged childhood and life in general. Growing up, my family never had problems with money or anything like that, which I'm extremely grateful for, because I know so many people who've lived much harder lives than I have. But my elementary school experience seriously impacted me when I was a child and continues to subconsciously influence me today. I'm 17 years old now, but when I was younger I lived in a neighborhood of mainly Italian people. I was the only person of Arab descent within a 50 mile radius at the time. So I encountered a lot of bullying, not only from the kids my age but also from teachers. They made it obvious that I wasn't welcome in their school. The kids never talked to me and at recess I would always be the only kid sitting alone on the blacktop, looking down at my lap. I specifically remember my gym teacher telling me straight to my face, 'I hate you f'in arabs, you and your parents should go back to hell where you belong'. Needless to say, hearing that from a teacher terrified me at the time. It made me feel like there was something inherently wrong with me and that I was a bad person. For my whole entire school life, up until now, I've been the outcast of the outcasts. I'm afraid to approach people or talk to them. I feel like everyone hates me and that I don't have a right to be there. How do I fix this? |
Question: WOMEN: Did you struggle to make friends with women? Posted: 23 Dec 2017 08:57 PM PST I used to have female friends in school, but I think that's a little different as kids tend to separate themselves that way...you know, because boys have cooties! Although even in school I had boy friends too. It's not that I don't like women or have that ridiculous internalized misogyny 'women are drama' issue going on, but I've just always struggled with women and they always seem to look at me like I'm an alien. I know some other women have this issue too, but has anyone who's gotten past this and made female friends got tips on how to be better with socializing with women? |
Posted: 23 Dec 2017 08:33 PM PST I'm a woman and I've never gotten on with other women - it's not that I hate women, I've just never been able to click with other women for some reason - all my friends have been guys and it's worked out because they've all started out as work buddies, also because I've always had a boyfriend. At the moment I've no friends locally and struggling to make new friends, so if you throw into the mix that I prefer to socialize with men...and I'm currently single...it makes it difficult as if I talk to guys I worry they'll assume I'm interested in them romantically or they'll want to pursue me. I don't want to pretend to have a boyfriend or pretend to be a lesbian. Literally, I have had male friends. And if you're not going to actually answer the question - don't. |
Question: I think a Higher being is trying to get me to do something. Could I be right? Posted: 23 Dec 2017 08:33 PM PST So I am planning to travel, and I have been thinking about it for several years, and when I started planning a few weeks ago, things started happening. I kept getting ads and things like that on facebook, even if I didn't like, follow, or friend anyone who travels. I also got a nice pair of hiking boots from a friend, who had no Idea I was going to travel. I have just been feeling like something is pushing me to this because it will be good for me, but I have no idea what the higher being is/was. What do you guys think? |
Question: Should I cut my friend off? Posted: 23 Dec 2017 07:56 PM PST I've recently became friends with my friend again, after me cutting him off for a whole 8 months. During those 8 months he wanted to be petty by following my ex, and calling pizza hut on my house ordering a pizza which I could of gotten in trouble for. I mentioned those 2 things to his face the other day and he straight up lied to my face saying he didn't do any of that and was treating me like I was dumb. I wanna cut him off again because thats still so messed up and I can never trust him again. What so you think? |
Question: My 16 year old friend let a 14 year old friend drink? Posted: 23 Dec 2017 07:52 PM PST My 16 year old friend is a sophmore and has been drinking/smoking/doing drugs for a long time. Im a junior and I dont usually hang with people like that, but they are an exception. Tonight I heard she/he gave my other kind of freshman friend alcohol whilst my other friend watched and didnt stop, but told me later. Im frankly pissed because the 14 year old didnt grow up like my friend did and never had that stuff before, yet my friend still thought it was okay to give it to him WHILE giving him a stick and poke tattoo which I strictly advised against due to his weird protective creepy parent. What should I do? Im really angry, but I nothing I say will help anything right? |
Question: How do i stop being conceited? Posted: 23 Dec 2017 07:29 PM PST Many times my friends have told me that they were afraid of talking to me at first bcs I seemed too serious or stuck up. Even my parents said that i can be annoying sometimes bcs Im always taking pictures. I did not understand at first but I later realized that they are sorta right.... I talk too much about myself(looks, life) and usually expect ppl to talk to me rather that I making the first move. How do i stop this? I am serious. I am actually a very nice person. And I do care about others alot. |
Question: My friends always want me to watch them smoke and drink and it's boring? Posted: 23 Dec 2017 07:12 PM PST So i stopped smoking weed and drinking completely. My friends invite me to hang out just so I can watch them smoke and drink and I keep telling them its boring!! But they say I'm tripping and its me making its boring since I can still hang out and talk. The other day we went to hike and I was excited to do something fun and normal, but they made me wait outside for 30 min in the cold just so they can be high before the hike and hotbox the car. I'm sick of this. I keep telling them its boring and they get mad when I wanna go home. What should I do, cause i don't like being around weed in general anymore either. |
Question: Is this rude in your opinion? Posted: 23 Dec 2017 06:47 PM PST I know a guy at work. He always shows us pictures of his Japanese wife. I've never met her but I'm pretty convinced he really has a Japanese wife because they always have new pictures together. My other co workers are not so convinced. We all went out for dinner together(4 co workers) at a Mexican restaurant and everyone's wives came with them. EXCEPT this guy's. His excuse was "she doesn't eat Mexican food, she just likes Japanese food and burgers" we said next time we'll just go for burgers then so his wife can come along. He got nervous and he said "depends what type of burger" then I made a joke "are you sure you're not just photoshopping those pictures of you and that Japanese woman"? He said "oh yeah sure" and everything was fine. The waitress came and took our drink orders and we started looking over the menu. While we were looking over the menu one of our coworkers wives said "I think that's strange your wife doesn't even come with you.. she should at least accompany you, even if she doesn't like the food". Then I said "He's a photoshop expert.." and then I said "Hey, if you really have a wife call her right now on the phone and prove it to us" He just looked at me really angrily. I then quickly changed the subject back to the menu. Do you believe that was rude of me to say call her and prove it to us? Of course there's a such thing as a Japanese wife. A wife whose ethnically Japanese. We are just talking about if this guy truly has one or not. |
Question: What should I do in this situation? Posted: 23 Dec 2017 06:07 PM PST Okay so I used to have this one friend that used to go to The Gym with me and also hang out with me here and there but out of nowhere she just stopped doing all of that and i have no clue why but I know I did nothing wrong because I was always nice to her each time we hanged out and before I always used to ask her if she wanted to come along with me to the Gym in the Mornings and she would always say yes even if she had to work but now I had asked her and her excuses are is that she has to work or that she can't So after that I stopped inviting her because it was pointless to since she always said no to me Then there was one Day I had posted on Snapchat that I went to The Gym and then she told me "No invite"? And I told her I would but you never wanna go with me anymore then she was like well you never ask me and such I responded with a calm manner and she was like "I'm in a bad mood bye" like wtf I'm the one who should be mad and not her honestly I'm so sick of her playing The Victim in every situation but I also sometimes miss hanging out with her someone please help I really need advice on this what should I do |
