Question: Are in-laws more important than actual family? Posted: 15 Dec 2017 01:14 PM PST this is going to sound really immature and stupid and I cant believe I'm upset about this, but i invited my mom over for Christmas because she hasn't spent christmas with us in years and because I know she lives on the other side of the country I offered to pay for her plane ticket too but she blatantly declined and said she's spending Christmas with my sister and my brother in law instead. While I love my brother-in-law I feel annoyed my mom is choosing him over me in a way. I mean I'm her actual son and she wants nothing to do with me whatsoever and I don't think it should be that way. I mean for me, my kids will always come first no matter how old they get |
Question: Sex with a woman who shaved versus non shaved. Would it be ok to ask my dad? Posted: 15 Dec 2017 12:31 PM PST So I'm 15, a virgin, but a lot of questions. My buddy says I should ask my dad because he has 6 other kids from 4 other women. He said to ask my dad what he prefers and why when it comes to a woman being shaved or not. Last year my dad had a baby with an intern from his work. She was 20, he was much older. 4 years ago he had a baby with a woman who already had 2 kids. Now his current gf is 28. My buddy thinks the 20 yr old was probably shaved, older one with kids prowbablt has a bush and the new one not sure. |
Question: Why is my mom so darn stinking jealous?? Posted: 15 Dec 2017 12:21 PM PST Ever since I got together with my man a year and 7 months ago, I've taken quite fondly of his mother because of how wise and polite she is. I get along with her well, but nobody, absolutely nobody can replace my own birth mother because of all of what she's done for me for eighteen years. Keep in mind that my mom doesn't celebrate ANY holiday whatsoever because of her religious past, but my man's mom is the biggest holiday person I've ever met so far. So obviously, when the holidays come by, I'd like to spend it with them and get into the spirits. I'd mention this woman to my mother occasionally, so for example, I'd tell her "hey, mom, there are a few gifts for you under her Christmas tree and there's also things for me," she'd immediately get defensive and say, "I give you presents throughout the year! Why do you sound so excited?! Is she replacing me?" The most tiring process is how I've tried and tried and tried to tell and show her that she's MY mother and she's irreplaceable no matter the cost. It's getting super frustrating and I'm to the brink of just not caring. Any advice? |
Question: My father wants me and my half brother to be close? Posted: 15 Dec 2017 10:13 AM PST Have had my kids homeschooled for 9 years. Refused to teach them to drive at 15/16 refused to get them lessons, refused to let my wife and sister teach them. Refused to let them get a job at 16/17 because I did not want to drive them or get them proof of their ages and names. They still have no ID and I refuse to help them. Did not put them in any groups to meet friends during those 9 years of having them homeschooled. We don't live in the city, so the bus is 30 miles from us in the city they both refuse to walk in the middle of the interstate to get there. Stopped celebrating their birthdays at 5/6 years old. Celebrate my own, my wife's and my sisters though as we are actual adults(in our 50s) and can do what we want. Plan to kick my kids out with nothing they can sink or swim I don't believe in helping them. They are 18 and 19. Why do Christians and social justice warriors say I am in the wrong when I am not? Couldn't I just drop them off at a group home and they can do everything/ teach what I refuse to teach my kids? |
Question: My stepbrother wont stop bragging.? Posted: 15 Dec 2017 10:09 AM PST I am 12 and my stepbrother is 14. He is extremely immature and acts like a 4 year old. He throws tantrums to get whatever he wants. He breaks his things on purpose to get an upgrade. He brags non stop and I cant take it. He thinks he is smart and really he is just an idiot. He has unrealistic goals instead of actual possible thing. For instance, I am going to be skipping a grade or too in the next few years. I then want to go to Yale and eventually become a Chile Psycologist. He on the other hand is failing school and going to repeat next year or the year after. He plans on moving in with his brother who is 2 years older than him when he goes to college and living with their to dogs. He wants to become a youtuber and save that money to by a $100,000 car... He is plain old stupid. He thinks he has all this money and he has none. He has a husky that potties everywhere and now we have to replace all of our flooring including the one in his room that the dog ripped up. He broke our banister because of the dog. He is the only one that wants to keep this dog and wont even help take care of It? He then gives me crap about my dog Lillie who has not done anything wrong in the house except one she sliced her nail in half and bled a tiny bit in the house. We cleaned it up in 3 mins. She ended up having to have her entire nail cut off. His other dog (Yes we have three) has become aggressive towards the husky and has said that he will get rid of him. I cant ignore it! Any help? |

First we're going back to Nashville for a few days since he loves country music we'll stay there then we're going to Alabama , Georgia and Florida hes never been to Alabama or Georgia before he's always wanted to go he's been to Florida but he was a kid when he went so he doesn't remember. It's gonna be a surprise for him. I feel like it's gonna be too early for another one. Is it too soon or not ? |
Posted: 15 Dec 2017 08:45 AM PST ?: And you would be wrong. Anonimitie: You should seek help for self righteusness too. In a setting where both of us are present, she cannot stand it that third parties (even maintenance people) address me (now that I'm grown up and she's an old woman) and not her. I feel like she's constantly competing with me for attention and status before third party frankly, nobodies. In any case where we are both present, she would be in a competition with me in front of people. Which is inexplicable, pathetic, shocking to me. It feels like she was never validated in her prime, and now it's all coming out. |

Question: I'm done with my father's family? Posted: 15 Dec 2017 06:47 AM PST My father died in 1996 and his family all scarpered, including his children with his ex wife and his sister and her family. I have tried so many times to just get in contact with them, I wrote a letter to his sister, once in 2009 and once recently, never got any reply, sent Facebook messages to his sister's grandchildren, who are older than me, never got any reply, sent Facebook friend requests to my older half-sisters, never got any reply, one of them even blocked me. It's as though they are hiding something from me and I just want to know what it is. My father's family are all complete waste of spaces, should I just give up? |
Posted: 15 Dec 2017 06:39 AM PST I don't mind her getting them something from their daughter I find that normal, I just think making them something is more sentimental making it weird to me. Thoughts? Background(she lived at his parents with him for 3 years) |
Posted: 15 Dec 2017 06:00 AM PST Before we get into it, I was pretty much an angel child growing up. I rarely ever made my parents angry, no drugs, no sex, no drinking or partying. I stayed serious did great in school worked full-time for a while now. 4 or 5 years by this point. I am 21 going on 22 in a week and about to finish college. I pay my parents rent and help out around the house and do lawn-care work. It's not like I don't contribute. But I am within a few months of moving out permanently and the last number of years I have spent here, they've just not been good. I can't be myself here. I am a different person outside the house than I am in it. I work all the time and go to school to avoid the negative and pessimistic environment that exists here. There is always complaining about other people. And total full-fledged hypocrisy. I don't even trust my parents to talk to them about how my relationship is going. I just tell them the essentials, like I am in a relationship and if I am going on vacation to see my gf. Let them know where I will be, etc. But they just make problems for me. I have constant dreams about fighting with them. They have shown me nothing but disrespect, and dragged me through consequences of their actions like my dad and mom's divorce. My Mom committed suicide last year by the way. My stepmom and I have a sour relationship. All the efforts I make in life are not good enough for them. They still think they work harder. So I just don't care about my relationship with them anymore My Mom was a heavy drinker growing up and made my childhood hell. My stepmom is a micro-manager and will flip out over the smallest thing and take any opportunity to make someone look stupid that she can take. I am waiting to move out because I need more money, i've been saving up all these years but I need a job that pays over $11/hr to survive off of. I am currently looking at one that pays $14/hr. That's not the point. My point is is I don't see myself talking to them all that much once I am moved out. And I don't feel bad either. To me, they made the choice to treat me like they did and to drag me through their crap. So they need to pay the consequences. My girlfriend's parents are even worse and more strict. I just uploaded a pic of me and her hugging in a swimming pool, a public swimming pool and her Mom got mad over it. Her whole family apparently has been sniffing into our relationship and trying to direct her on how to handle herself. Why can't people just **** off? Seriously, they need to learn how to because they do more bad than they ever will do good |
Question: Christmas present for mom from semi grown kids? Posted: 15 Dec 2017 05:52 AM PST My brother and I were going to buy my mom a plane ticket to see her family up north, and I got her a travel pillow and some little things to go with it, she calls today saying she bought her ticket for a good deal etc, now I'm out of a gift idea and so is my brother. Posted: 15 Dec 2017 04:50 AM PST my sister left for a holiday today, for 8 days we are close and i will call her everyday and we will laugh, christmas is depressing as my mum gets depressed every christmas, we got a restraining order on my dad my uncle has a brain tumour and won't make the next christmas, i have been loyal to someone, (waiting) for him to come back to me as promised and realised this is a sham, so i joined a club, and its full of men and i went diving with them, and I'm tired of them looking after me and me feeling like a crap diver, we have a new year trip and i don't feel like going because i will feel uncomfortable, theres a party tomorrow, but i can't drink because i get depressed from alcohol :( |
Posted: 15 Dec 2017 04:16 AM PST Unfortunately, I have to live with this person. I try and avoid her most days (meaning, I don't try and engage with her- I am not dismissive or rude) simply because I never know when she's going to be in a bad mood. She's in a bad mood most days. If I talk to her when she's in a bad mood, it can easily turn into her throwing accusations and insults at me and creating an argument over nothing. It's exhausting and generally ends in tears as I am not the kind of person who likes conflict and negativity. Anyway, today was another day I had to experience that. My grandmother was out, so it was just the two of us in the house. Her bedroom is next to the kitchen, but she usually just stays in her room unless she's making something to eat. After I made my meal, I simply called to her room asking if she wanted me to turn off the kitchen light. Her response: "Why wouldn't I want the light on? It's not good to live in darkness!" I said that if she wasn't leaving her room, then I'd rather shut it otherwise it's wasting power (which my grandmother has to pay for). She then complained that I was 'mumbling' when that's literally all I responded to her. I repeated what I said as she obviously didn't hear- just to prove that I wasn't being rude, and she asked me if I was okay. I said "why wouldn't I be okay" and then she went on to say that there's something wrong with me and that I'm rude. She said 'people' say that about me, so (out of anger) I said I've heard the same about her (cont)... then she said, "Oh, so that means you've been b****ing about me behind my back, of course you have!" It doesn't make any sense for her to say that when she was literally just telling me what people have been saying about me, which insinuates that she's been doing just that herself. The difference is that I don't have this problem with anyone else I know. I don't have any issues with other people because they don't act this way. She's like that with everyone when she's in a foul mood. There is a reason why people have felt the need to mention this to me. I know how it feels to be used as a punching bag by a manipulative person who always makes themself the victim even when they were the one to initiate the negativity. It's as if she's looking for conflict. I just don't understand how anyone can be like that to the point where they bring out the anger in me (I'm not an angry/argumentative person). No one in my life has ever made me feel more worthless than she has... Well, I never thought that a simple question such as, "do you want the light on" would turn into an argument. I avoid going to her room and having conversations with her, but if I need to ask a simple question, I do. I don't see how I'm "looking to start an argument" when I'm politely asking a simple question. |

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 12:55 AM PST My brother use to touch my butt, throw items at my breast, and shove me by touching my breast. I was shocked so much, didn't know what to do, and was nervous to tell my mom, so I didn't for a while. I finally woke up one morning with so much rage, I threw a lotion bottle at a glass picture on the wall and it shattered and I remember screaming at the top of my lungs. I finally told my mom, and she just laughed and denied it happened. Her claim was she would have saw him doing it and she talked to him and he said he didn't touch me. First of all my brother, struggles with lying and is a compulsive stealer. I eventually went to conseling, but I could tell the counsellor had talked to my mom, because she would try to act like she believed and cared about my situations, but it was obvious she didn't. In reality she just believed what my mom told her. Later on in my life I was body slammed by a older guy onto the group at a hospital. I was so traumatized. I tried to tell my mom and she said she had a hard time believing me because someone would have saw it happening and there was nothing she could do about it. I would stay up at night screaming at the top at my lungs out of anger and frustration. I would go to her crying and begging her to call someone and she would tell me I needed to move on because it happened so long ago and there was nothing she could do about it. |

Posted: 14 Dec 2017 10:02 PM PST My mom somehow made it to 47 while still being slim and attractive. Problem is she doesn't dress like a mom and walks around in skimpy/trashy stuff, there is always a bunch of gross old dudes wanting to talk to her (including the pastor) and is embarrassing. I will probably tell here to wear clothes more appropriate for her age and status as a mother. |
Question: Parents don't want me to come home for Christmas Break? Am I just being selfish? Posted: 14 Dec 2017 09:38 PM PST Basically, I attend college out of state, and haven't seen any of my family since August. Winter break starts tomorrow and lasts for a little over 3 weeks. I texted my mom too see when I should get to the house, and she responded by telling me that I can't come home for break because I no longer have a bed(they cleared out my room as soon as I moved out) and because they can't afford another person living with them for 3 weeks. Apparently, my stepdad got laid off from his job 4 months ago and still hasn't found a new one, and therefore isn't bringing in any money. I honestly just feel really hurt right now. While I may not have the best relationship with my family, I would still like to be able to go home and sleep in my bed. Instead I have to crash on a friend's couch for the break. I don't know how to feel right now, other than confused. I don't feel as if me staying for 3 weeks would be that expensive considering I barely eat and don't waste water, electricity, etc. Am I overreacting? |
Posted: 14 Dec 2017 09:21 PM PST In our culture , your brothers wife is regarded as a second mother and my bhabhi(sister in law) is a very shy person who wears decent clothes at home and acts very good . I respect her like god . But 2 days ago I had to sleep in another room due to guests and it was right next to my brother and bhabhi .. I could hear them having sex and bhabhi kept moaning and talking vulgar language while doing sex for half an hour . Now when I saw her in morning wearing a Saree and praying to god .. I feel so conflicted . I know sex is a basic need for every couple and I can't wrap my idea that my pious bhabhi Moans and talks like a whore I try avoiding her as when I see her, those Moanings come to my mind and I feel disgusted |
Posted: 14 Dec 2017 08:01 PM PST When that narcissistic relative comes to me and trashes my brother's wife? I don't want to condemn this relative (an aunt) but I also don't want to be trashing my brother's wife who I actually think was the one more in the right though both over-reacted. Any ideas? The aunt is obnoxious and a classic narcissist but she is family so I don't want to get on her bad side cause she can be mean. |
Question: My parents won't let me quit band.? Posted: 14 Dec 2017 07:49 PM PST I have played the flute for a year and than I quit. I have been playing the alto saxophone for a year and a half and I really hate it. My instructor makes us do these really difficult songs and he expects us to play like professionals. He is very strict with dress codes and everything and I hate it. For me practicing for band is horrible, I simply don't have time for practicing. My parents are the problem, they won't let me quit, mainly my dad. I tried to do everything, I was nice, I tried to compromise, I tried to force it, I tried to trick them, I tried giving up and not playing, but they won't let me. Nothing works. Can anyone tell me something I can do to convince my parents I should quit. |

Question: Christmas and New Years family dinner are coming and I don’t have a girl to bring? Posted: 14 Dec 2017 06:03 PM PST I'm 27 years old and nothing. This sucks, I already got bombarded with questions on Thanksgiving but luckily I was only there for a bit before I left. My family on my dad side usually all meet up in one gigantic gathering every year. They are Italian/Mexican/Native America origin. My mom side is Cuban but I hardly ever see my cousins from my mom side. Anyways all my cousins have brought their own girls including my two sisters with their boyfriends. All 20 of my guy cousins have some of the prettiest girls. I dont know where they get them. Some are from European descent, or from Asian ancestry or middle eastern descent, South America even biracial mixed black. I don't have the luck, I'm not ugly but I'm short I'm 5'8. However none of my cousins are tall. The tallest one is 5'11. They all arrange from 5'7-5'10 one is 5'6 and he has a pretty asian girlfriend. I'm average and I dress normal. I have a fade comb over like with a full trim facial beard. I don't have a big Italian nose and my body is average. |
Question: How do I deal with this? Posted: 14 Dec 2017 05:40 PM PST I live in a maternity home because I'm pregnant and have no where else to live. I live with a house parent and another girl there who's a mother of a two year old. I don't have anything against my roommate at all but the house parent blames me for everything. The other girl has a kid so I can understand if she doesn't do everything all at once but I always get the blame if something happens. We have to do chores and if there are dishes in the sink from her and her son or anything at all, I'm automatically the blame although I'm not home most of the day because I have classes and a job. I'm kind of frustrated because like I said I have no where else to go, I can't live with my Mother because she lives with my grandparents who have no room for me and the baby and my boyfriend can't afford a place for us to live. |

Question: Is it bad to not want a guy knowing where you live? Posted: 14 Dec 2017 05:15 PM PST There's this guy from work who likes me and he try's to get with me all the time and tells his friends..I found out that we live close by since I saw him from in my car and from outside my window a few times walking..I never go outside but I don't know how he found out where I live but I think he did because I randomly caught him standing outside of my house looking than he walked away. I like him too but really do not like him knowing where I live because it isn't even my house and I don't want him "knowing personal things about me" and I believe some guys start stalking you as soon as they find out your address. I really do think that this bad..overall am I wrong for not wanting him to know where i live?? Btw if we started dating I would be fine with it because "that's for me to show him my house not him!!??" |

Question: Whats your opnion? What should I do? Posted: 14 Dec 2017 04:12 PM PST Im a 21 year old female, still living at home as I am pretty much the main financial support. Im desperate to get out as Im constantly stressed, and having anxiety attacks due to the financial situation. Father is in jail, Stepdad doesnt work but gets social security and Mom recently quit her job. My 18 year old half sibling and I are the main providers and we barely make it at that. My stepfather constantly verbally abuses everyone and has physically hit my mom and my sister. I also have a 7 year old half brother (both half siblings are autistic} who threatens to kill/murder people, screams and cries when he doesnt get what he wants and threatens to suffocate himself as well. Well in a usual fit tonight he threatens to murder my sister for not letting him in her room. Hes crying and screaming and my mom takes him babying him while hes threatening people. I spank him, my brother and Im the one in trouble. Im called a dumbass and told I know better, I should move out by my stepfather but I have no money to get out. All this is hurting my health and I cant take it, but Im too much of a weak sponge to leave. Please Help. |

Question: My brother and I got into a fight. What should I do? Posted: 14 Dec 2017 03:47 PM PST So my brother used my computer withut my permission and it wasn t even that big of a deal, I just wanted him to admit it and stop touching my stuff. Then he got really mad and got in my face so we started arguing and saying some really hurtful stuff. I m much worse with my words than he is so I said something along the lines of "You re dumb and you re never gonna be anything in life." It was really something I said without thinking and just tried to cut as deep as possible because of theadrenaline. I didn t realize what I said until he got even angrier and pushed me while repeating it as if he can t believe I just said that. My brother doesn t do the best in school and I do, which is something I really try to avoid using in arguments but this time he just made me so mad. I apologized and we hugged but I still feel so bad. I really didn t mean it and I never want him to think that and end up like the boys at my high school, what should I do? |
Question: Should I turn this woman into her employer because she is a danger to children? Posted: 14 Dec 2017 03:18 PM PST Please bear with me. I became a substitute teacher and one of the teachers at the school kept coming on to me so we ended up dating. I ended up moving in with her and we got in a serious relationship although I only knew her for a very short time. She ended up being highly violent, hit me multiple times, held the knife to me multiple times and threaten my life. She split my head open with the fork once. I wanted to go to the police but she told me she would accuse me of rape if I ever did, and she would accuse me of raping her daughter. I ended up packing my stuff up and leaving one day while she was at work. I tried to go to the police but she sent me a bunch of threatening text messages when she found out I left she said she would set me up for rape if I ever said anything and I would lose my job and be put in jail forever. After I left her I talk to her parents who actually disowned her shortly after I left her because she hit her mother and I found out that she had her mother in the past two before I met her. After I left her she set me up for a crime anyways and had her daughter's friend say that I sexually assaulted her. I was arrested but found innocent, without any doubt, but I lost my job and my life is pretty much ruined. The hardest thing for me to believe out of all of this is that she is still a teacher working with young children... I was 28 she was 50 I didn't know any better then |
Question: How can I feel better about myself? Posted: 14 Dec 2017 03:14 PM PST I feel really embarrassed because I attended a piano competition, and didn't get a place, but my sister just did a competition and she got first place. I always feel compared to her even though she is older and everyone in my family loves her and dislikes me. I try to be better, I try to get good grades, be good at art, be good at music, but nobody in my family cares, and they only look at my sister. It makes me feel a bit upset sometimes, how can I feel better about myself? |
Question: Stop doing something my mom paid for? Posted: 14 Dec 2017 02:52 PM PST So here s the deal. I started this program about a year ago and I don t want to do it anymore. The thing is, my mom already put a lot of money into it and is even a member herself. Part of it is because I wanted something for just us and now my brother s doing it too, but I don t want my mom to think that s the only reason I want to stop. I m just not interested. How do I go about explaining this to her? I don t want to look desperate for her attention or anything. |
Question: Whats the reason for you to get out of your parents house? Posted: 14 Dec 2017 02:43 PM PST i want to get out as soon as possible because i cant endure all of their nonsense. Just because they are my parents doent mean they can say i am at fault when i am an innocent. Both of them are persisntent as hell even when they arent correct, they are right even though what they say isnt correct, and correcting them is called lack of respect. they can freaking blame me for their mistake and cant speak against them. |
