Last semester, I was working with a group (whom I asked to join cause all the other groups were full) but ended up really liking the group and the people; which rarely happens cause I usually hate group works. So now I'm taking another class and these people are in this class as well and think it would be good if I worked wit them again but I feel embarrassed to ask again especially since I'm not really close friends with them, although they're really nice. I don't wanna sound desperate and annoying, so I though maybe if they want me in their group they will ask me. Do you think it's a good idea to wait for them to ask? |

There's times when I'm interested in stuff a lot of people don't really care too much about. I don't make friends easily. I'm just too different and don't fit in with the popular groups ever. I have 2 friends now but they are both a year younger than me. Every single year I've been through I go through several people untill I find the ones that I can stick with. However it's usually only 1 or 2 people I find right for me. I'm not a very loud person and playful person like the rest of my class. Every time we do partner work with our own grades I dislike and dread it because nobody is really interested in being my partner and I'm too shy to ask. I can't be partnered with my 2 friend sbecause they are in the other grade. My school is quite small and only has 2 classes with grade 8 in them and they're both splits with grade 7. So really there's only about 35 or less. It's hard now that all of them are sorta friend s with eachother and I'm the socially awkward kid. Please give some answers I don't want this to last forever and for nobody to ever be interested in me. I don't want to be left out of all the popular friend groups forever or always be the strange quiet person. I don't want to be the one everyone will forget about or never want to hang out with. Two days ago, I bumped into an old friend of mine (who I'm not such a big fan of), after many months. At first, it was insanely awkward but we did manage to find common topics to talk about. Even so, I still found her really boring and self-obsessed, I just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. And here comes the problem - right before we parted ways, she asked for my new phone number, and I was dumb enough to give it to her. She said she wants to keep hanging out, and will 'totally make up for all the time we didn't see each other'. And I absolutely don't want that. I don't want her back in my life.. our friendship was always a 'joke' in my eyes, but she's taking it to the extremes and just keeps pushing. I think the only option is to completely shut her down - ignore all of her calls, messages, meetings until she finally gives up.. but will that even work? And I've been threatened multiple times by the popular people but when I tell people they agree that they shouldn't be popular, yet they run back to them like a lost puppy. Then in grade nine, I ended up only having two friends, but I was really awkward around one of them. Now I'm in high school, and I have absolutely no friends. Reason? I can't seem to talk to people. I became super self conscious of my voice in grade 8 and it still affects me now. I've become so shy, I physically feel like I can't talk. I have to build up so much courage just to say hello BACK when someone says hi. I hate myself for this. All I want to be able to do is talk to others, even just small talk. I'm tired of it. I want at least one friend. At school, I'm known as the awkward anti-social girl. That isn't what I want to be known for. Also, one (kinda two) other thing(s). I've just recently started dance and drama this year. For dance, I had to perform. I was really nervous before I got on stage and while I was on stage I couldn't stop shaking. I was trying my best not to let it show and it didn't show in the video. Still, I don't want to shake while I perform. That goes for my acting too. Any tips for that? I don't mind that they're all in the class together. But that's all they ever seem to talk about anymore and they don't include me. They have Skype calls for the entire class and don't invite me; they even had a huge party last week that I didn't even know about until I saw the pictures on Instagram. My issue is that it's all they ever talk about now. When I constantly hear them laughing and talking about things that happened on Skype or at the party it makes me feel really left out. | Question: How do I confront/handle a friend about he/she copying my artwork? Posted: 03 Apr 2017 01:29 AM PDT I ve made custom handmade jewelry as a livelihood for the last two years. It s been a very successful experience this far. Meanwhile , a friend that I ve known for some years now had recently business partnered with her close friend (the actual design artist of their fledgling jewelry business) and has been either closely replicating or downright copying a few of my signature designs. I have mentioned this to her once before and she seemed to blame the artist, her friend for the the overstepping but now it has persisted and it s making me ultimately question our friendship. I ve already resolved to simply block her and the designer grind from all of my social media where I post pics, not inviting her to my shop parties where she would clearly get the ideas to rip off in the first place. Is this enough? Should I mention it again or just keep her blocked but remain casual friends otherwise? How do you remain close friends with someone who allows and promotes (on their own shop page no less) after explicitly saying how much it hurt my feelings for copying designs like this- again, my only source of income? (Note: This friend actually proposed partnering with me first before committing to work with her other friend after I turned down the offer. I decided to ultimately work alone.) |

Posted: 03 Apr 2017 12:21 AM PDT graduating in 1 month and imma be honest im my 4 years of high school im not friends with the close best friends i had made freshmen year... if anything im still close friends...with like 4 of my best friends that ive known since middle school. All my other new friends that ive made in freshmen year arent in my life anymore... well they are but weve drifted apart and dont talk much...bc they didnt stay true to themselves and changed to fit in... till this day im still only friends with those 4 girls that i consider my truest friends. dont get me wrong from freshmen year until today....senior year.... i made amazing new close friends but i dont think ill ever be able to trust them on the level that i trust my 4 bffs since middle school. im sad bc im scared that after high school we wont speak at all. Im gonna do whatever i can to meet up like once a month after we graduate...and to make time for each other.. i wanna know if you still keep in touch with any of ur close friends from high school after graduating? |

We invited another girl, a friend of mine, to join us. And all of a sudden she started to say that the manager asked her to start a promotion team. So i thought she would ask to be a part of it but she asked other four girls to be in the promotion team. And she said to me you are not a part of the team, but i want to involve you in it i felt offended by it and asked the other girl who i met the artist with, what the other friend said, the other girl didn t know about the promo team and she approached the 3th girl with the promoteam and then the promoteam girl said i was a snitch for telling. Why? what she is doing isn t fair and she wants to keep all the work for herself so she could get the shine and leave us out of it. I feel betrayed because i knew her for two years and she was my only friend, now i feel hurt and she is putting the blame on me and calling me a snitch. Who is in the wrong me or her? and why start a promoteam with other girls when we are available to work too? |

I feel as though I might disappointed everyone I love. I feel as though I might not make it and I'll just die at a young age, maybe ending it won't be so bad.... Sure my family would be sad for awhile, but at least I won't be in pain anymore. I know how selfish that sounds, but I've always tried my hardest to put everyone else before me. What do I do? Posted: 02 Apr 2017 10:47 PM PDT I am a 12 year old girl and I'm becoming a target for bullying because my parents buy me embarrassing childish clothes. Like the ones at the Children's Place with glitter all over them or pictures of hearts and girly stuff. I'm losing friends nowadays and it's hard for me because I have autism. They still think that I like Disney princesses. It's like NOBODY takes me seriously because of my clothes. Instead, kids treat me like I'm unequal and like a little kid with no opinion. Everyone looks older than me and some people started calling me names. Especially with older kids like high school seniors.. they treat me even worse than the kids my age. Whenever I put sunglasses or some makeup on, I immediately look like a 6 year old girl playing dress up to try looking like a teenager. In my grade people try to dress "cool" and hang out with older kids from the local high schools. Too bad I can't be part of any of that, because everyone either laughs at me or treats me like I'm soooo innocent because of my childish clothes. Here in Australia, high school begins in 8th grade (most begin at 7th so our school system is rare). It's even worse since I'm technically gonna be a high schooler soon with older people and I look like a toddler. How do I tell my parents that I wanna get more mature, teenage clothes? |

| Question: Is It Rude if I go to this event with my friend and his family? Posted: 02 Apr 2017 08:18 PM PDT So there is this event in my community that goes on every year (it's a 6 mile walk for a cause during the day), but this year it's on a Monday morning. Most of my family and friends are going to skip it this year since they can't take the day off from work or school, but I wanted to go since I can take the day off from work. My good friend who is also my coworker mentioned at lunch that he is going to take the day off from work that day to go to the event. I told him "yeah everyone is working or going to school that day..." About an hour later at work, I ran into him again and asked him if he wanted to go to the event together this year. He said yeah we can, and he asked me if anyone in my family was going and I said they have class/work. He mentioned that every year he goes with his entire family. Then I said, "oh then go with your family, I don't want to throw myself..." He cut me off and said they are going anyway so I can join them if I want. I've met his family at like parties and events he has had at his house a couple of times. I didn't know he was going with his entire family before I asked. Now I don't know if I should go or not if his whole family is going? I know now that I should have just not asked, now I don't know what to do..should I go with them or make up an excuse not to go? Will the family make fun of me for going with them behind my back? Like I have no one else to go with.. |
