I'm 13 and have been "friends" with this girl since I was about 8 or 9. But recently, I just have trouble standing her. She apparently sees me as one of her best friends, but I hardly count her as a friend anymore. We don't really fight a lot or anything, but she just gets on my nerves a lot. She calls me nicknames such as "m'lady" or "marshmallow" which I told her many times I do not like. She even called me facking called me "senpai" last year. She once cut, which I don't have a problem with, but she seemed to make it a point to show them to a lot of people, including her ex-boyfriend who she hadn't spoken a word to since months before that. She seemed to be just doing it at least partially for attention, and I get defensive about that crap cause of couple of my close friends have actually had problems with cutting in the past. And she seems to be really bad about explaining things or is lying. She talked about how her and her girlfriend have been together for four years, but she also dated a boy last year, so i don't even know. I just sometimes feel like I'm being lied to. And I just don't enjoy hanging out with her anymore. She's not really that funny, or doesn't have the same sense of humor as me, she gets really defensive over the simplest things and I don't know why, and she never does anything too interesting for a cool story. I just don't wanna tell her cause she seems to view me as one of her closest friends. And I don't even really pay that much attention to things anymore. She once told me, "No one seems to see when I'm fake smiling and laughing, except you." But, uh, I don't ever notice. And about the cutting thing, lemme clarify. I said at least partially for attention. I don't really know how she feels, and I just think that cause she seemed to go a bit out of her way to show them off. But I could be wrong-

For almost 2 years i had a work friend named Sofia.  I always had feelings for Sofia, but she was married with kids.  I noticed Sofia would stare at me like crazy.  I never made a move on her because i had reapecr.  But one day Sofia told somone as a secret,  that she was beginning to have feelings for me.  Apperantly she felt guilty because she's married.  Me and Sofia continued being work friends and she thought i didn't know about her feelings. Is it good to stay best friends with someone that used to say they were here for you but now they're not so much but they still tell you that they're not going to leave? I'm in this situation and it hurts some but I know that they're kinda busier now as to why they can't really be here for me 

I generally, almost always, cut a person off and end all communications with them after only the first offense. I discontinue my friendship with that person and typically will not offer forgiveness or make an attempt to rekindle. My question is : After a person has hurt , upset or disappointed you the first time , do you allow that person a second or third chance? Or do you cut them off right away?

I've received on two different occasions a new friend suggestion notification from the same person. Does that mean they're looking at my profile?

One of my friends recently stopped talking to me without any explanation and I was wondering if I should still pick her up for school tomorrow morning. We normally talk in every single class but she just started sitting alone and I've picked her up everyday this year and on thurday & friday when I got her she didn't say a word the whole time and practically ran away from me when we got to school. Should I just not pick her up tomorrow or should I send her a text. If I should text her, what should I say?

My friend is having a wedding and it requires me to buy two dresses and a hat totaling 220 bucks . I just started a new job and I have a major traffic ticket to pay for . I don't want to tell her this . Anyway , it's March and her wedding isn't until August 22nd. She is asking I order my stuff now sense it's being sent over elsewhere . I told her I couldn't give her the money until end March . I feel stressed about this . What would you do ?

So my photography instructor found an old camera bag in her closet at her house (I'm a college student). She said she had no use for it, and who ever wants can come up and grab it can have it, first come first serve. So I was the first one that grabbed it, and jokingly said "I'm too poor to buy a fancy camera bag." Then I told my instructor thank you. My one roommate sitting beside me stormed out of the room when class was over. She told me that it was wrong of me to say that I'm poor and that I should watch what I say because her family is financially struggling unlike mine. She told me it was offensive and that I'm not allowed to say the word "poor" ever again in front of her. My other roommate began to side with her. They then called me a spoiled brat and I should watch what I say. My family isn't wealthy, we are comfortable. They knew I had quite a bit of money to my name because I said I was saving up for a car. That's not money for me to spend Willy nilly..that's money I'm saving for priorities and I'm limiting what I spend. I also pay for my own phone bill. They kept being passive aggressive about it and kept making comments. I feel as if they are overreacting and being way too sensitive. I never knew they were financially struggling and I told them that. They snapped and said it's not something you tell people and they embarrassed me in front of everyone. I wanted to say "Your familys financial situation is not my concern." But I didn't want to listen to them.  Also my one friend asked my roommate if she's ever been to Disney world. Her response was "No but *name* probably has 😒" Also ever since this incident they would ask me to buy them something for them at Walmart every time we would go. I don't mind as long as it's cheap enough, but I feel like they are now taking advantage of me.. 

My friend went to a frat party last night and got roofied. this fraternity has an extensive history of sexual assault, and clearly they arent doing anything about their image. I dont want to sit idly by and let it happen to more young girls. Who should I tell, if anyone? she was not raped, someone else could have been though. I dont want to let it go unnoticed

I've been friends with this girl from my school for about 2 years now. I've noticed whenever im with her i'm so defensive negative and irritable. I can't tell her anything about my life, but she'd judge or think of my differently. I hate myself when im with her. I don't really consider her as a friend, but more as someone i hang out with at school. We both argue all the time, and i never see eye to eye with her. The simplist things she does pisses me off.I don't have a choice on remaining friends with her. I really dont like her i dont know what to do

MY PARENTS WONT LET ME GO ANYWHERE I'm 14 I don't have real friends I ALWAYS WANNA LEAVE but I Have to STAY IN THE HOUSE and It is SO depressing to stay inside I mean let's be honest what kind of teenager wants to leave the house nowadays? 

I got a call from my former mother in law Pam asking for my help moving programs and data from her old computer to her new one. I really liked her when I was married to her daughter Alice so I agreed to help her. She offered to pay me but I told her I don't charge friends for my help. Much to my surprise about a week later I got a call from Alice asking me not to help her mother any more. She said her mom should be calling her current husband for help, not me. I told her that I would have a hard time not helping a friend that asked for help. About 6 months later I got a call from Pam asking from my help again to get her computer up and running. I told her about what her daughter Alice ask me to do. Pam said Alice had told her the same thing and she ask Alice's husband for help with her computer and he fouled it up so bad it would not boot up. I went to her house and fixed her computer problem. I am having second thoughts about helping Pam again. Am I going to cause Pam a problem with her daughter or is her relation with her daughter none of my business? What would you advise I do in the future? THANKS.

On Facebook he was telling me about a random incident from the past and was asking me my opinion of the situation, my response to him was I was busy at the moment and didn't have time to respond to his message. Then he responded back by telling me that there's an elderly woman who shops at the store he works at, he tells me that every time she sees him she totally lights up with joy and happiness because she always has hopes to see him every time she shops, he also told me that this elderly customer enjoys chatting with him, he also wishes that me and my friends would feel the same way towards him as this elderly woman does. I feel very offended and disrespected by his comment and I'm thinking about deleting him off of my Facebook.

Let me tell you some things she does to me: 1.she interrupt me everytime with speak with others and she wants to speak only her 2.she hates when i have confidence and tries to convince me that i am ugly 3.someday i told her that i like a guy and she told me that i am too ugly for me 4.she tries to prove all the time to everyone that she is better than me 5.she always tries to make me feel bad and someday she told me that a girl called me ugly only to make me feel bad and ugly What is her problem with me?????

On Friday my friend invited me to his birthday that was going to be on Saturday and I was happy cause I haven't seen him in a long time and the next day when I was ready he called me and told me it was canceled and that I can't come over cause they were busy , and I was ok even though I felt like I'm being betrayed and lied to and I feel like everyone at school is tattlers and was advoid me and I feel very lonely cause I don't have close friends

In my last job, which ended 13 years ago, I had a co-worker who I liked as a friend.  I'm a straight mid-40s guy.  She's a straight mid-50s lady but there is no romantic interest.  We live 600 miles away but see each other when she and her boyfriend come to my town for vacation. A few things recently: 1. I took her and her current boyfriend to lunch at a private club where I am a member.  The club has very strict rules about behavior and members must ensure that their guests behave.   Her boyfriend loudly used the N word, with staff of color within hearing range.  She loudly said that she refers to people of color as "Canadians". 2. I graduated from a well-known university; Bush II, Obama, Mitt Romney and others went there. She is constantly forwarding political emails to a mass list of her contacts.  One recent email falsely claimed that Michelle Obama said something really dumb, and the punch line of the email was, "but what could you expect from a graduate of University X"- my university.  The email indicated that only a moron, typical for graduates of that university, would say such dumb things. I pointed out to her that I graduated from that university.  She didn't apologize. 3.  She is constantly sending mass emails with claims about Donald Trump that are nonsense.  I have strong views about Donald Trump- opposite from her views. Would you end this friendship?  I feel as though we're so far apart in our views that we have little in common. Thanks.

I have been trying to ' prove ' myself to my friends. For all the good it has done me. It hurts. My father and the ' clubs' he belongs to are low life's. But my friends and I get the hits and foul balls for it.

I asked my best friend if he would like to live together and we could finally get away from our parents, family, etc. He said no because I didn't have a job. This broke my heart because before he had a job I did everything for him and I would have continued to do so no matter if he had a job or not. Thats how close I thought him. He was a brother to me. We talked about everything. How people look at us, mistreat us, how people don't understand us, etc. It seemed so fun. Having somebody to talk to.I wasn't even asking to share a house or apartment for free, I wanted to put out the idea that I could get a job and that we could both go back to school, do what we want to do and have each other's backs. Of course I wasn't going to let him down. I was going to get a job so we could both pay rent and expenses. But before I could even tell him he laughed at me and told me what he likes the sound of it, but that I had no job. I guess our friendship to him was only worth how much I could pull in from work or having a job..

Started new job this week. My office is by myself on other side so I didn't have much of a chance to meet other people really. Only person I talked to was guy my work is with. There was happy hour which I went to.  I was a bit nervous at first because I didn't know anyone and with coworkers you have to be careful(I'm usually social). But I was fine within half an hour and mingled. Guy on my team said he was kind of worried I'd mainly talk to him but was happy to see I met other people. I told him how I'm usually social and all and he said that that's good that I'm extroverted that's it helps. That's a compliment right lol. 

Ill start off by saying im a 17 year old senior in high school and play sports at school.  I just wanna know whats wrong with me. I can never maintain friendships or relationships. I'll meet someone knew and we will become friends we could be friends for 2 weeks or 1 year but never longer than that. That friend will mostly be really into hanging out with me for sometime and then fade they all fade after awhile. And the girls that are into to me will be really into me for a week or so hookup with me and then won't seem interested anymore. I can never keep girls or friends around. My biggest fear is that maybe they are getting to know me to well and don't like the "real me" whats wrong with me.

For the big/main gift. out of choices below,I'm trying to decide between getting her something like a bracelet that will commemorate her 1st npc competition with a weight charm since she loves weight lifting, or a bracelet with her name and a weight charm, or maybe a set of purple French confetti nail strips (which she said she loved when she saw me wearing them) and a purple sparkly dip since she likes sparkly, a gas gift card cause she'll travels 2 hrs to and from work 5 days a week, 1 week it was 6 days because her and her bf graciously drove me back to my home after visiting their church or a water bottle that I'll have all the nick names shes called me in purple on the top and at the end of the top part either put "may just all be fun names", "to you may just all be fun names", "to you may all just be fun names", or "may all just be fun names". Then the bottom half put in blue and start with either "To me they mean everyrhing", "To me they mean a lot", "To me they mean a whole lot", "To me they mean so much". So ive known her since Nov 11 of 2019. I met her family the first time I went to her church Feb 2 this year. Which gift idea do you like best as the big gift? Or do you like all of them? If you think the water bottle is the best idea, which wording should I use? She does have a water bottle that she has stickers on, so my hope is if I do the water bottle she'll either use both or transfer her stickers to the water bottle
