I have a best friend named Brian, and we also work together. I know he really liked this girl from work, they would always talk and they would always laugh when they were around each other. They knew eachother for a whole year, but the problem was that she was married but he respected her. Eventually she stopped talking to him, because there were a lot of rumors at work. Everybody felt that it was weird that she was so close with him knowing that shes Married. Now they act like strangers at work, and I know that it's affecting my friend because it's hurting him a lot. This has changed his personality alot. But I don't understand why this is affecting him so much???????? he knows that she is married!! I don't understand can I have some advice

I'm a 27 year old female and it has pretty much always been hard for me to make friends. I do have several friends now but I just don't ever see them because they're so busy so I do just talk to them on Facebook and I am not working anywhere yet so I feel like I don't really know them because I don't ever see them I have one friend that I would say is my best friend. She is in her 50's and she lives close to me and she says i'm her best friend and I hang out with her sometimes but not much so I feel like I don't really know her either and her and some of my family have known each other for years so she has pretty much been knowing about me my whole life does anyone else feel this way like I do? And is it weird to think this way?

Recently, I have been becoming more social but every time I hang out with a group of people I feel like I made a complete idiot of myself and I'm in this state of cringe. More specifically, I went to this overnight conference thing where the group of people I went with were mainly acquaintances and people I hadn't talked/ seen since I was a kid. I had a few good friends with me but not too many. I was basically the new kid in the group and I felt like I was partly left out but I was okay with it because I understood that it was because these other people in the group had known each other for years. I figured, if this group is gonna get comfortable with me, it was probably going to take a while. It's almost like held back too much but I didn't hold back enough. At the time, I was discouraged and frustrated and now I just feel embarrassed.

I went to a party last month of one of my close friends and my parents were picking me up at 12... there's a prom after party and it starts at 12. I know they won't let me go though and i can't even lie and say I want to have a sleepover with my friends because then they will call their parents and ask them the plans. How does everyone else convince their parents to let them party?

Sometimes through my parents I have to see these two people. The one who does mean gossip my Mom is friends with but my Dad only tolerates. The other woman, the one who is a bad person, my Dad likes a lot also. Both women are single (one's recently widowed and one is divorced and it was long ago). How do I act when I have to see these two women who are so horrible? It is like 2 or 3 times a year at my parents beach house that I'd have to see them. Hopefully, not often.

My ex bf 33 and I was 26 when we dated, he was traditional Armenian guy and I'm a virgin and told him this so he continued to date me, it was marriage minded. LOTS of fights happened, he wasn't one to back down form it either but he always made up. My roommate and I don't really get along, and when I talk to her about the things I don't like, she doesn't get it. It's really annoying , they get hurt hurt if you get something right and they don't , they don't make friends , communicate with one another, and if you done better than them at something they get seriously butt hurt and won't talk to you. I don't get why they are so weird like that , I study economics. But a lot of us come from diffferent cities so why are they so competitive and jealous or will avoid making friends will fellow course members .. I find it really annoying

I know I am a ugly person, but it's just I feel terrible that no one will talk or want to be around me because I am not attractive. I have an older sister who has a vile personality. She's always belittling everyone else, spreading lies, and just generally acting like a horrible person. Because of this, the majority of people in our family (myself included) have nearly nothing to do with her. What's funny to me is how she'll talk about herself as being a victim. Any time I hear from her, it's just time spent listening to her cry about how no one loves her but she loves her family so much... yadda yadda yadda. Do you think a person like her actually understands how vile they are, or do they actually believe deep down that it's everyone else in the wrong?

so me and my friend ellie have been friends for 3 years. i am now in the senior year of high school with her. i have never had a boyfriend before but for the first time this year im in a relationship. recently however he told me that he feels i'm in a toxic relationship with my friend, at first i just thought some of the stuff she did was normal but now i'm realizing her actions may be controlling. it first started out with her having me on an app called life 360 where she can see where i am but i didn't think anything of it because some of our other friends are on it as well. she then told me that i need to "manage my time better" between my boyfriend and her and continued to instruct me on how to do so. she then told me that she won't let me sleep in my hotel room with my boyfriend if i'm drunk kind of implying that he would take advantage of me which is extremely presumptuous and rude. i then realized that she does this a lot. i just feel bad because i have had good memories with her and she has been supportive of me and there for me, but she has also shown a controlling side. for example: she talked about my period really loud and made me uncomfortable. she copies all of my work and cheats off of me on tests. she talks poorly of our friends and gossips about them. last year i found out she was talking poorly of me as well when i wasn't there. she does unethical things. i don't want to stop being friends but it's starting to affect my relationship... i need some advice!
