Question: Please Read!!! (Phone drama ;( )? Posted: 01 Mar 2020 02:19 PM PST Okay. (For context I'm a freshman in High School) -Alrighty here's my issue. My parents want to control my phone by locking it up using the software during the "Wee hours" of the night. They just installed the software last night and initially I was very upset. I was so upset because I had my phone without restrictions and this "provision" software for about 1.5-2 months. I'm pretty sure that they just want to know that I won't be on my phone, but they know I'm a good kid (I get very good grades, I do my chores, and I have a good sleep schedule that I stick to 8:30-9:30 PM to 5:40 AM) But they still just won't budge and it's infuriating because they won't really listen to me or at least experiment. They always make the argument that "If I'm not using it then it shouldn't be a problem" and "You're only 15". They think If I had the ability to use it I would, and I wont but its the feeling of freedom I yearn for because my parents are super strict when It comes to devices and I just want a little taste. (Also my parents are both in their late 50s so yeah) |
Question: Do you cry when you are not feeling good? Posted: 01 Mar 2020 01:43 PM PST my roommate does. She is not feeling good today, which is common for her, and she is in her room crying like a baby. It's kinda a mix between moaning and crying. It will go on all day. But why? If she lived alone would she be doing this? Or is she doing it for sympathy and attention. So damn tired of it. She's 47 years old. |

Question: Would this person be both my half-brother and my first cousin? Posted: 01 Mar 2020 08:43 AM PST My mum recently told me that she had a baby with the brother of my dad over 20 years ago. A boy. Would this person be both my half-brother and first cousin at the same time? |
Question: How to not feel hurt when your mother-in-laws loves her blood grandchildren more? Posted: 01 Mar 2020 08:36 AM PST My husband & I have blended children. I know blood is thicker than water. I give all my children the same amount of chores and hand out a few dollars allowance to everyone (not for doing chores) However when mother-in-law give to her grandchildren she handed it out quietly. She gives when I'm about to take my kids to the store & when they cried. My birth daughter asked why she doesn't get money from grandma. And it hurts me... I don't know what to tell her. I know most step-mom are known to be horrible. But we bite our tongue and keep it to ourselves most of the time. And yes! I have discuss this with my husband. |
Question: When my Dad lies to my mother how should we stand up for her? Posted: 01 Mar 2020 08:27 AM PST He's a deceptive man. |
Question: When I hate my Dad does it say more about me or him? Posted: 01 Mar 2020 07:35 AM PST He uses me, is a conartist in his family, is terribly disrespectful of his elders, lies, and is very ignorant about his children's needs accept the ones he backs. He also is bossy like we are still children. I avoid him now whenever I can. I hate him. Is this wrong? I am 31 and female. |

Posted: 01 Mar 2020 06:52 AM PST Ok so me and my Sister got an apartment together had to move out on short notice or I would've gotten my own place but money was tight at the time anyways ever since we moved in She doesn't praticipate in the chores and cleaning that comes with the apartment I'll clean the house completely 100% emaccculate come home from work and within 1-2 days the apartments a complete dive again we've been repeating this process for 3 months now it amazes me how she works part time she always out with friends but when she home she can have a couple days off work and do nothing but lay in bed and make food dirty dishes leave her clothes laying around bowls and plates in the living room no judgment but just live in filth and not have an itch to clean up a bit. Posted: 01 Mar 2020 06:26 AM PST Last summer, a relative of mine and his family visited our family at the farm. He is around my age and we're kinda distant. I put my AirPods on the fridge and I was busy all day cooking and making sure the guests were having a good time. After they left, I couldn't find my AirPods any more. I looked around and I couldn't find it even using the find my iPhone application on my phone. When talking about possibilities of where it could be, my family mentioned how we lost a phone, a wallet and some money whenever their family came over. So we decided to confront them, and we asked his mother about it and he denied it. I recently just saw on his instagram, him with AirPods in his ears. I am not sure if they are mine or not but I have all the receipt and the box of where the AirPods came from if indeed it is mine. I don't know how to ask him or get him to open up and let me check, because I am afraid he'll cover it up. I can't confront him physically since he is in a different country as of now and I probably won't get a good chance of seeing him anytime soon. How do I confront him online? |
Question: How do I get nosy family to back off ? Posted: 01 Mar 2020 06:08 AM PST My sibblings are very nosy. Everytime they catch me out somewhere that want to know what Im doing and why. Just the other day I went to the city to do some shopping. They actually whatsapp me a picture of myself with shopping bags and keep asking me all sorts of questions about why do i have so many bags in my hand ?where is my vehicle? why didnt i use my vehicle ? Did i sell my vehicle.... And Im like....thats none of their **** business. Im not selling drugs. How i get to and from my apto is is none of their business. We are all adults and no longer live under the same roof. As long as I am safe...they dont need to know my daily rounds. I swear they are even more intrussive than a jealous girlfriend. |
Posted: 01 Mar 2020 06:03 AM PST After the sudden and early death of my grandmother in 2012, I went to stay with my grandmother and aunties for a few days (I lived with them half the time, the other half my grandfather). My grandfather started bombarding me with emails literally the day following her death (it was pretty much daily). He wrote about my deceased grandmother's 'failures', how he wanted to sue my grieving uncle for her estate (he lived with her), and started talking bad about my (living) grandmother's side of the family- saying things like "your father made your mother a prostitute". (not true), "your family are the reason why your mother killed herself" (also not true), "they're going to kill you too!!!!". I ended up cutting ties with him and only kept contact via email. These emails never ended in all that time, but I am too good natured of a person to cut him out completely. I tried time and time again to tell him how much his words hurt me, but he never took responsibility or showed understanding. I ended up extremely unwell with constant vertigo and breathing attacks (which I believe are caused by vocal cord dysfunction). His words haunted me daily, even not living with him, and I hated myself for having to distance myself from a person who raised me after the passing of my mother. I have only just started to recover now, focusing on my mental health and seeing a chiropractor regularly. And just when I thought I could see him again and have a friendly catch up, he sends me this email... I've told him that now that I'm well enough, I have chosen a path and am going to begin my studies. I'm not cured and I also have ADD, so having MH issues makes it SO much harder just to do normal things. This is a big step for me & instead of being proud that I've overcome those years of grief- losing my grandmother who was all I had left of my mother, and physical illness likely caused by my mental state (which he contributed to), he decides to put me down and compare me like he's always done. |
Question: Should I call my stepdad dad? Posted: 01 Mar 2020 05:15 AM PST Ever since I moved out of my dad and stepmoms home and moved in with my mom and step dad my step dad is a great man he treats my mom better than my dad ever did he has been there for me since he married my mom he is a great man too and we are very close should I call my step dad dad he helped me get out of my dad and stepmoms house Should I call him dad? |
Question: Should I forgive my parents? Posted: 01 Mar 2020 03:59 AM PST When I was growing up my parents were verbally emotionally and physically abusive to me my dad would beat me punch me hit me and call me ugly and told me that nobody would want to be with me and my mom would spank me till I wined when I was 15 I met my now husband saadav when he found out on what was going on in my home he took me out and made me live with his family and I cut contact with them. My husband is the best thing that could happen to me he saved me from my abusive parents and because of him I am an amazing mother to my daughter his parents treat me like I am their daughter and their amazing grandparents to my daughter now recently my parents ran into me in wall mart and they said sorry and are remorseful of their actions(they proved it to me) my husband thinks it is not a good idea What do I do should I forgive them? |
Question: How do I make my Dad feel the sting of his deceptive ways? Posted: 01 Mar 2020 03:22 AM PST He is a deceptive and dishonest person and also very-very arrogant. |
Posted: 01 Mar 2020 03:14 AM PST The behavior is to hold grudges for her and only forgive when she forgives the person. In many cases the person hasn't changed but my mother's grudge softens with time and as a result my Dad forgives for my Mom's sake. I am glad they forgive, that is good, but the hating beforehand and expecting me to hate is what is unacceptable. I'm supposed to look up to them but I have to look down to them. |

Question: Am I enabling cowardly behavior? ? Posted: 29 Feb 2020 08:16 PM PST We just discovered my bfs step father had been molesting his little sister (14). I am growing furious at the fact that my bf is staying at my apt and not kicking the guy out of the house he owns!! They're not even on a lease so my bf pays 1,5k rent while the pervert and his dumbass mother who doesn't believe her own daughter live there just paying bills. I love him but I think he needs to grow a pair and kick that mf out!! I am growing more frustrated to just tell him to leave my place and then he will have no choice but to move in with another family member or go to his house. What should I do? Am I being a b**** or am I enabling his behaviour? Police report was made immediately after the girl informed family. Cops are opening an investigation. Who knows how long that will take |
Question: Do you think i would be able to get full custody? Posted: 29 Feb 2020 07:18 PM PST Ex came out that he's gay about 3 yrs ago.He has full custody of my 5 yr old son due to no stable home.He has had him for about 2 yrs.During the time that he's had my son he has had 3 boyfriends that i know of.My son said he sleeps with his dad and his dad's boyfriend. Can I get custody because of this?My son is 5 and he's still not potty trained im not sure his dad is even working with him now.My son has not had much discipline from his dad i don't think.Because he cusses a lot and destroys the house and back talks.Their is a really good chance he could have ADHD he's super hyper all the time and his dad has ADHD.He is 5 and I don't think he's ever been tested for ADHD but I'm sure if he don't get on meds he will never be able to sit and learn anything. My son's dad has all these men coming in and out of my sons life and i don't know anything about any of them.My son's dad moves a lot and don't keep a job.Could i get full custody? |
Question: My parents won’t let me be myself ? Posted: 29 Feb 2020 07:11 PM PST I am 17 years old, I was a born a male but I don't identify as a male. I identify as non binary and my preferred pronouns are they/them but my parents still call me a he. They won't let me dress how I want, sometimes I like wearing a t shirt and jeans, sometimes I like wearing a dress or a skirt and a blouse. I like wearing makeup and painting my nails too but they don't approve of anything and things are getting harder to do, when I get out of the youse with them they basically choose what I wear and I don't feel like myself, I am not a male but they treat me like one. They also don't approve me of having a boyfriend. What should I do? I talked to my therapist about this but she wasn't much help. Would this be considered abuse? |
Question: Son doesn’t want to get haircut...? Posted: 29 Feb 2020 07:03 PM PST My son (15) goes to a school with a fairly strict uniform...blazer and tie, and it has strict hair rules (can't touch collar/off ears/out of eyes). He has always been pretty good about going to a barber without complaining but lately he's been putting it off and asking to grow it a little bit longer. It's already kind of proofing out, touching ears and going over collar. Should I just let him be until the school says something? |
Question: Is this normal for my dad to do? Posted: 29 Feb 2020 06:27 PM PST This morning my 9 year old brother was using my dads phone, (he's allowed to) when my brother told me to look at something he found in his camera roll. (My brother wasn't snooping, he was just looking at old pictures of himself) the picture was extremely explicit porn, and I told my brother to just ignore it, cause I didn't want him to know what it was yet. I know my dad is an adult, but is it normal for a married man to have a picture like this in his camera roll? And no, I don't snoop. Also I'm 14 so maybe this is normal? I'm not sure. |
Posted: 29 Feb 2020 05:57 PM PST She is convinced her son believes in Santa. He is Autistic but that does not mean they are low functioning. He can figure it out same as me but just doesn't know how to articulate it. At 17 he obviously knows there is no Santa. Our grandmother rolls her eyes when told by my sister's wife "don't say anything, he still believes". "He is over 16" our grandmother mumbles. So how do I get my sister and her wife to understand that their 17 year old son could not possibly still believe in Santa and if for some reason he does he should be told IMMEDIATELY. He is going to get beat up or something over it especially during Christmas time. |
Question: Why did my parents take back their offer? Posted: 29 Feb 2020 04:41 PM PST My parents said that if I kept my overall average (all my classes averaged together) at or above a 90, they would give me up to $2,500 to help me buy my first car, as long as I paid the first $2,500. Well today I passed my road test and I was talking to my dad about it and he said that he and my mom decided to go a different route. He wouldn't go into any further detail. Since I made the deal with my parents my average has not gone below a 93. I have over $2,500 saved as I've been working since I was 15. How can I get my parents to explain their reasoning? |
