i feel like i have so much on my plate. i have to deal with my personal issues with myself + with my messed up family while simultaneously trying to somehow get into college. i have so much schoolwork and i'm trying so hard to get a scholarship because that's the only way my mom can possibly afford to send me to college and TO TOP everything I get home to a house overflowing with negative energy and to a mom who's miserable all the time. it's all too much ugh i want to cry.

Question: My brother called Mom the C word in a fight and while she got mad she did not punish him. How do I get her to discipline so he will change?

She is abusive by making this child the black sheep child and blaming all bad things including her marital problems on this child (now an adult). That adult child is very depressed because of it and the aunt won't acknowledge anything good about the daughter but jumps on the bandwagon when there is negative gossip. The daughter was not as obedient as the other daughter who is worshiped and adored or the two sons who are generally ignored. The other daughter is the golden child and my aunt is almost too nice to her that it is creepy. It is like that daughter is the messiah. So should my Mom confront her sister about abusing her adult daughter like this? How can we help the abused adult daughter? As I said there is one daughter that is loved, one that is hated, and two sons ignored. All are adults now.

Do you think this will work? and Ive been getting straight A's since 5th grade and IM in 7th. Please don't tell me to get good grades. I can get a B and she'll start screaming. But recently Ive gotten 2 C's, 1D and 1 F. She said before that she would leave the responsibility of my grades to my dad but I dont want anyone to be responsible for my grades. Only ME. Is there a way to get her off my back about my grades?

The whole family will be there but me. I am rejected cause my Dad divorced my Mom and my Mom later committed suicide. They reject me cause they hate my Dad and I live with him. This hurts so much and all the sadness I felt that ruined Christmas and Thanksgiving I now feel this weekend. I dread Sunday cause I know how real the pain will be. How do I get over this pain? they got back together quickly, and got married. My son has black hair, olive skin, and dark brown eyes. His wife has dark brown hair and brown eyes. My grandson (now nearly two) has platnum blonde hair and light blue eyes. Myself and other family members want my son to get a paternity test. How long should/do Waitrose give people working nights bereavement leave reason I ask as my grandmother had a heart attack yesterday and I've been told that's its 50/50 if she makes it in our handbook it says at minimum of 5 days for immediate family (parents siblings and children) but nothing about grandparents etc before you asked why I don't just asked my Boss is because I'm not in work for 2 days and I don't want to let him know till I know for sure if it comes to that ?

When I was growing up my Mom was estranged from her father cause he was an alcoholic and therefore distant from her whole family. She softened when we got to be older (teenagers) and we got close to our grandfather. Yet those 7 years that we were estranged gave me a terror of family estrangement. I feel like it is the ultimate rejection. My Mom's father had siblings he was estranged from and was until death (over money I am told). Also my Mom has a brother she doesn't get along with and avoids though I see him as an adult since I am not held back by Mom anymore. That to is an alcoholism situation. I am terrified of family estrangement especially in my Mom's family since that was the part of the family it happened in when I was a kid. How do I make sure I am never disliked by family and never estranged from family? I especially worry I will fall victim to it simply cause of whose kid I am like I did when I was young or due to a misunderstanding. I am learning disabled and ADHD so sometimes my social skills are studded and I fear someone might disown me for that. How do I make sure I am never disliked or estranged again by extended family? It was awful when I was a kid that my Mom let that happen even if there was alcoholism. Any thoughts?

My mother wants me to go to Rhode Island with her for the funeral (it is her brother). She is mad that two of his three kids are not attending the funeral (at their mother's request) but they do not know him. Nor do I. Nothing against him but my Mom wants me to speak and all I remember about the guy is he barely spoke two words. All I know is his ex-wife grounded the kids from ever seeing him again and claimed she was protecting them (not sure if I believe that). Also I know he was a Cleveland Browns fan and according to my Mom a racist when young. So my question is what do I say at the funeral when I only met this man twice and it was brief both times? So basically, a guy who has been my friend since we were literally babies is being kicked out of his house tomorrow. He's 18, has a 6 year old daughter, but no other family. His mom died 7 years ago and his dad is gone. So basically he'll be homeless and on the streets with his daughter. He doesn't have anywhere to go. My mom wouldn't mind him being here, so that's not a problem. Should I tell him he can move in with us? Or how do I tell him? Should I have My mom ask him? My little bro 13, 14 next month And I've been a little bothered ever since I picked up phone one day a little after New Years. I used his phone to google something real quick and I saw him google stuff like "I hate my older brother" and "I wish my family was dead" and stuff. I don't understand what could be wrong. So I just moved in with my aunt, and she keeps asking me for favors. Like applying to jobs for her , looking up information for her etc dumb stuff . She also really scolds me when I do the littlest thing off . I'm not paying rent or anything so I feel like I have to do all these things for her . Am I wrong for wanting her stop this behavior towards me ?

So my sister decided it was a good idea to get into drugs and sex. She even peer pressured me into trying Marijuana and tried making my little sister smoke some but she refused. My sister also did LSD sometimes. Her and her boyfriend had sex and did lots of bad things together. My sister was threatening me that if I told my mom then she would tell my mom about the time I smoked with her (But I was peer pressured to do so). So I didn't tell my mom for about a year, but I got so uncomfortable hiding it so I told my mom everything. My mom then grounded her until she's 18, which is 2+ years and yells at her everyday calling her names. My sister then told me she feels worthless and useless. She has been very sad lately and doesn't talk to anyone anymore. My mom forces her to clean everyday and verbally abuses her. My mom is forcing her to get a job too. My sister just goes to school, comes home and sits there until it's her bedtime. I feel incredibly bad for my sister. It makes me sad seeing her the way she is now. I need advice and opinions.

Hey, so I have a Mother who seems to buy things just to make things look good and to showoff and not that she/we actually need it. Like for ex. Today we went to Ikea to buy a closet for myself and sis, we argued about which one is BETTER FOR ME! She wanted another one than I did, and I was like "why is she choosing what I want, its my room and Im gonna live there" It seems that she only buys these stuff to impress her group of friends. Hey what do you call this or who should I see to help with this? Today is my birthday. My parents and little brother threw me a little celebration and it was adorably sweet of them. I prefer chill nights and we ate cake and watched Lord of the Rings. Then for the stupidest of reasons my parents started arguing. They couldn't fake it for my bday and I just felt this wave of emotion go over me. I pretended I was okay and found myself breaking down when I was alone. I'm too old to be crying over my parents arguing. I've grown up living in the middle of their arguments and when I tell you each one is as stupid as the next. Idk, just feels helpless. I'm 19 years old and I live with my family. I am currently pursuing my associates degree at a community college, and then I will be transferring to a University. I am fed up with what's going on in my house. My 10 year old brother CONSTANTLY disrespects me(Yells at me, makes nasty side comments when my parents aren't around, destroys my things) and nothing is being done about it so I've taken matters into my own hands. I've tried so many times to tell my parents how much of a rude, entitled, spoiled brat he is becoming and they tell me that I'm overreacting. I've recently gone through tough family issues and I wish to move in with my friend. I am 16 years old and my dad took me to Arizona from Indiana with him and my siblings because we were moving in with my aunt. Before we moved my mother got arrested for selling drugs. 3 months later he moved back to Indiana without even asking us to come with him. So he just left us here with my aunt and it's been almost a year and I really feel like I don't belong here. I want to move back to Indiana but I really don't want to move in with my father (whom has abandoned me before) or my mother (who abuses and sells really bad drugs) and I don't have other family members out there. But my friend's parents offered to take me in, I'm not sure how it's going to work out legally. Like will they have to adopt me? Will I have to be emancipated? My mom said she wanted to put me up for adoption twice I get bullied everyday Cry everyday (nobody cares about me) I was unfortunately raped at 7 and a half to 8 years by my brother (dad side) my mom still did nothing about this even tho I told her almost a year ago and my dad says he's not his son but they look alike. My dad said he isn't my father even tho I look like him also. I had clinical depression for 3-4 years now. I Tell my mom to get me mental help I am going insane people even told me and my mom said it herself.also she says that she loves me but then yells at me for saying something silly like:You eat dogs lol.She also said she would stop drinking for YEARS now. He abused me and I am scared for him to be released next month. I want him to stay in jail forever. He has been in jail for 13 years so that is how bad he is.
