Posted: 13 Feb 2016 05:05 PM PST So there is this guy ,and i am friends with his sisters.Anyway his sisters and i facetime a lot , and he always says hi to me on there and tries to take the phone away from them.A couple days ago was the first time i met him in person and he was so quiet , and didn't talk to me at all.It's like he didn't even acknowledge me at all.So a couple days after that his sisters and i were facetiming again , and he made a really rude comment towards me then tried to end the call in which he failed at doing.A couple minutes after that he was nice again and asked me if i had a boyfriend.Why is he switching his moods against me? |

Her father is a notable lawyer and her mother does not have to work. On the other hand, I come from a family that has to work everyday, full-time, and on top of that there are 3 kids to watch over (I no longer count, for I go to college and work on my own time). Everyday she will stress over how one of her $300 pair of shoes has a scratch on them, or she will make an offensive comment regarding social status. For example, she once made fun of a girl who used drug-store makeup as oppose to buying make-up from MAC/Sephora. While I don't let her comments affect me, for I know she is not directing them towards me, it becomes bothersome that she is not aware of her actions. I know that she has to have at least the slightest idea that I do not come from a community like hers, but while we are in the same prestigious school, she thinks I am financially stable- which is not even remotely the case. I want to talk to her about it, but I of course don't want her to pity me because I know my privileges and I am grateful for them. I can understand where she may come from, but she cannot do the same for me. We are such good friends, but she has yet to understand the many different parts of the economic spectrum. How should I approach this? |

Later on, after she saw I didn't care about her anymore she changed but I still hate her bc of how she was in the past and never know what side of her I'm going to get. She's added me on LinkedIn I accepted but then blocked her. But she had a sister with a different last name who I accepted. But I don't have a LinkedIn picture. We've known each other for almost three years now, but we're together since a couple of days. I haven't told my best friend yet, because she hates him. A lot of stuff has been going on between everyone, and I'm just gonna try and explain it in a couple of sentences; I had a friend group with the guy, another guy, another girl and me. I can be easily manipulated (that's what a lot of people tell me, at leat...), I assume because I'm just very shy and insecure, and my (now) best friend took me away from them. Almost all contact had been lost, except for the short texts we sent each other once a month or so. When I told her I had gotten back in touch with the certain guy she hated (this was a couple of weeks ago), she started crying and we actually had to go to the bathroom because we were standing in the hallway in school. When I was wearing one of his hoodies to school, she questioned whose it was before I told her it was his, she literally said "I'm not going to touch you for the rest of the day..." Our following conversation had been very awkward because I felt like I've done something wrong and didn't know what to say. I don't know what to do or how to break it to her. He sent one of his friends to walk over to me and say "Hey, Mary." (thats not my name) And he would stay back and hide behind his other friends, laughing. About ten minutes later, he sent another boy over to me. He said the exact same thing to me. So, my friend obviously told them to say that to me. Something else that happened, was when i was passing him and one of his team mates, he saw me and said to his friend quietly, "go say bonquisha to that girl." When his friend wouldnt do it, my friend yelled "Bonquisha!" And when i turned my head, he laughed and ran away. The thing that confuses me, is there was two other people on my team, that he is best friends with. He didn't say a word to them. Why me? And why was he doing this? |

Now she is constantly asking me to oovoo, when I have no desire to, and when she DMs me on Instagram asking, I open it and of course it says Seen, leaving her to know I saw the message, so she just says "Wanna oovoo, you aren't answering me." She is really gullible and believes anything anyone says so I just give an excuse, and she isn't catching on, I tried telling her she is starting to annoy me but she is so scatter brained and doesn't listen to anyone. We've talked a few times, and we get along well. He is from Japan and moved here just within the last few years. Anyways, he went back to Japan last month and today he brought me this really pretty gift of little heart shaped rice crackers. Normally, if a guy gave me a gift like that so soon after meeting I would be wary of their intentions. However, I am thinking maybe it is just a part of Japanese culture to just bring back souvenirs to friends after traveling. Can anyone with knowledge of Japanese culture tell me if that seems to be the case? I'm really appreciative of the gesture, but accepting gifts usually makes me feel shy. ^_^ If it's just a cultural difference though and I have no reason to feel that way, I would love to know. Then that night and many nights afterwards she was snap chatting me bawling crying and talking about cutting herself. Of course being a friend I tried to talk her out of it but she didn't listen and cut herself. Of course I felt really bad and didn't know how to handle the situation But to be honest I think she was being a bit dramatic at the same time as they were only dating about a week. Posted: 13 Feb 2016 02:30 PM PST My College roommate (we re Freshman, and live in a small dorm room) is in a LDR; they ve been together for 3 years, and live 9 hours away from each other. I ve was sexiled 4 times last semester, and 1 time this semester; I ll sleep out of the room 1-2 nights depending on what she wants, or I ll sleep out one night, they stay in a friends room for 8 hours the next night (from around 6:30pm to 2:30am), until I m told I can come back. I get that being in an LDR is very hard for them, but it s starting to get excessive; they can t go a month without seeing each other in person, even though they talk to each other for hours on FaceTime every single day. All they do when he gets here is have sex for HOURS. I talked to my RA about how I was a little worried he was going to start coming up more often. My RA ended up telling my roommate that I was complaining about her boyfriend coming up too much; she was a little angry, but she just brushed it off. Talking to her about it is going to make her even more mad, espcially now since they ve gone over a month without seeing each other (and she s become moody and bitchy because of it). My friends tell me that I give my roommate to much time (most of my friends who are sexiled are only gone for a half hour, and then are allowed back). I don t want her to get mad at me; we get along great when it comes to everything else, so I don t want this issue to ruin our friendship. Posted: 13 Feb 2016 01:46 PM PST I've been staying at a friends house this weekend and he has a swimming pool in their back yard.. We decided to try water wrestling and (I realise how stupid that was now) to sum the whole story up I ended up almost drowning. He had me in a headlock underwater and before either of us knew it, I was out of air. Anyway, he and another friend pulled me out and did a couple of compressions. Then I just coughed up water (no mouth to mouth) and I was fine. Its been a couple hours now and I still feel the urge to cough but can't seem to. Like I need to clear my lungs and the cough just wont come up. What's going on and what should I do? |

| Question: Does this sound like normal behaviour after the death of a friend? Posted: 13 Feb 2016 12:21 PM PST This friend of mine passed recently unexpectedly. And now I keep imagining them being with me, like in my place, my car and so on. I keep reliving the moments we had. Sometimes even reaching out and imagining their there as if to touch them again. Of all the friends I've lost to death prior, I've never been affected this way until with this recent loss. It's like I'm seeing their ghost. Is this at all common? Do many others do this? Why is it only with this one friends death that I've been doing this? |

| Question: My mom found out I smoked weed the other night? Posted: 13 Feb 2016 11:59 AM PST The other night I was with three of my friends and they wanted to get some weed. We were at my house and my friend had a guy that was gonna come and drop it off for us. Then he said he couldn t because he didn t have a ride. But then another guy messaged my friend on Facebook saying that he could pick us up and give us some weed. I only smoked two times before this. We got in the car and well long story short we smoked and then went home. We got home at 2:30 in the morning and my mom asked where we were. I said we were at a friends house but her mom told us to leave because we were being too loud. Then my mom kept asking what happened and I kept making up different stories so k didn t get caught. Well one of my friends got caught yesterday and I lied to them and said I confessed about it and I m in trouble but I really didn t. My grandma just called me and said my mom texted her saying Can you shut off Natalie s phone? She s in super big trouble. They asked about it and I started crying and I told them. The reason why I was crying is because it s embarrassing for your family to know that you ve done something bad especially if it includes drugs. I told my grandma that I didn t smoke it and I didn t want to go and now my friends mom is blaming it on me saying my friend said I did. I don t know why I m posing this I m just scared for when my mom gets home in an hour and what she ll say and if she tells my dad then I m in more trouble. I need some advice. |

Posted: 13 Feb 2016 11:59 AM PST This friendship has been on the rocks for a while now, but now my friend has changed, she got braids (like the ones that black people usually get lolz) and now she acts really full of herself, and I don't like people like that. She tries too hard to be noticed, so I've just stopped talking to her. Is this okay? Is it alright noto to like someone anymore if they've changed? We're both juniors in high school if that makes a difference. |

I have few friends but most of the people I really hang out with I don't see them that much. I see them like twice a month if we want to hang out or have sleepovers because we go to different schools. My best friend in middle school I still hang out and see like a couple times a year now. We still text each other mainly about basketball and football because that's all we talk about. Other than that I talk to a few people at my school but I'm just quiet and really don't have any close friends. I am awkward even with my close friends. I try to text them my problems but I just don't feel satisfied with their help and I wish I could see them more. My best friend honestly I don't tell him a lot of personal things, Idk if it's a bad thing but I just want to have fun with him and talk about sports because I feel like myself when we hang out. I wish we could hang out more and I fear he doesn't consider me his best friend anymore. I mean a couple days ago we were talking and he said how two years ago we saw a basketball game. I fear being called a loner even to myself and I don't want this in my life as I go to college. |

| Posted: 13 Feb 2016 11:28 AM PST My BFF has a learning disability and she has an associates. I have a MASTERS degree and nothing is wrong with my brain. My friend is trying to gain work exp by volunteering all day, every day in a non-profit. She's written some stories, had a poem published and she SEEMS to think that she's qualified or will qualify to do something important in her life. Sometimes I feel that she thinks too much of herself. But I have to make her face reality that she's not going to do much better than she is right now. How many of you are with me on this??? |

| Question: Why don't I have many friends? Posted: 13 Feb 2016 10:46 AM PST I'm a junior in high school, I consider myself skinny since I lost most of the excess weight in XC, I wear a denim jacket, dark or blue jeans, plaid or flannel, and black leather boots with a belt, I like to style my hair. I'm into Alternative music and rock, or psychedelic, anything that's not modern. I just recently started talking to one potential friend who has a car and we went out for food. I consider myself to be a flirty guy, when I see someone I like, I talk to them or do light touches and smile. In the end though when I walk in the hallways, I'm most likely by myself, I don't look down or anything, I have my head up high, but I get stares sometimes as if people think I'm a loner. I do have friends, but not like a group during lunch, I have found myself craving intimacy a lot recently and I just recently found out, many people think I always look serious in class or when I stare into space, when in reality I'm not, that's just my resting face.Plus I just got braces two days ago, and so far I'm not used to the look, and I'm finding it much harder to smile or talk clearly. In the end, my question is, is there something I'm doing wrong, something I'm missing that is preventing me from opening doors to friends? |

In my old school I had a lot of friends stayed out came home late and didn't see my family I had a best friend who we were best friends with for 7 years !!! Now she said she's in **** and grounded and pretended her mum doesn't want me to talk to her when her mum always liked me now out of nowhere she said she took her phone and hates her . Well on social media I see her with new friends and posting . I wrote to her she doesn't need to lie and I don't ever want to hear about her! My other best friend in new school we are not friends anymore because we fell out .. Now my dads found out she's bad and stuff when she really isn't and starts shouting at me I keep telling him were not friends anymore but he keeps shouting now he went out and came back and started going on about it about her .. That I changed because of her !! But I haven't he doesn't even know me he's always at work or drunk the worst part is I was just standing doing my own stuff and he came up out of no where and punched me .. I got so angry started swearing at him to leave me alone and crying I went upstairs . I'm still crying when my brothers do something terrible they calm them down say it's okay you "learn from mistakes " but for me it's different 😭😭 |

And what is wrong with wearing makeup? Why am I called a **** everywhere I walk to school? I never had a boyfriend. Why am I always called a stick everywhere I walk? Why do people tell me to go eat a burger? People say I'm mean and I try too hard to be pretty. I want to be pretty for myself and I have a lot of confidence. I try to be nice to everyone I meet at school. I always say hello to people I see when I walk down the halls. I help people out with their work. I don't understand, why does everyone hate me? Whenever I do a project with someone I usually end up doing all the work. I always let people borrow things even if I don't want them to. If someone asks me to do something I always do it. If someone asks me to bring their bag for them I will, if they want me to help them with their hw even if I am busy, I will. Sometimes I feel like I have no voice or that people use me. Every time I see them I always walk up and flap my wings, I role-play. They always ignore me now whenever I try talking to them, WHY?!?!
