Ok so my parents and my older sister think I am a disgrace to the family because I started playing video games and "my grades are dropping". I'm almost 18 and *this is something that has been going on all of my life*. Before you say "Just get a job and make your own money," my parents never let me get a drivers license, so I wouldn't have a way to drive to work, and if I don't even have clothing, I obviously don't have a car (or a ride) to go to work. And if I DID happen to have a drivers license and a car, my parents refuse to let me get a job. They did all of this because they don't want me to leave the house. The only type of clothing that they buy for me is my school uniform which is once a year during summer. My school uniform is a red or white polo shirt and blue jeans (and they only buy me 1 pair of shoes per year, which are for school) and I use the same shoes every day all year and the same 5 jeans all year. If I want to find a shirt to wear I have to look through my sisters old clothing from many years ago. As I type this, I'm wearing an old sweater that belongs to my sister and my sister's pajama pants. I've brought this up to my parents a billion times and they ignore me. Sometimes my cousin invites me to her house and I always end up having to borrow her things because I don't have anything. The other day I asked my dad what he thinks an average price for a shirt is and he said FIVE DOLLARS. I'm sick of not having anything to wear. My parents are going to keep controlling me until the day I move out and that's not until I'm done with college. What should I do?

I have severe social anxiety and I can barely talk to my immediate family let alone my aunts uncles and cousins and grandparents. I suffer from OCD quite severely and this affects my whole family. I was having one of my moments and annoying my sister and she snapped. I started screaming and she pulled my hair, so I went to push her and pull her hair. She said "go away butch"! I was shocked I'm a girl, very girlie and I like guys. I'm 18. My adoptive "father" keeps trying to tell me to do things, like every hour it's like "Do the dishes. Take out the trash. Measure the house," etc. just because my mother isn't here to stop him and it only pisses me off because he is so lazy and doesn't do anything himself, yet he acts like he is doing the hardest job by sitting in his bed all day playing computer games. My friend is pretty private about her drawings. While she was out her dad looked through her sketch book. She wasn't okay with that, and very calmly told him she didn't want him to do that. She is a good girl. She never talks back, she never drinks, she doesn't smoke, she doesn't even date. But he blew up at her saying that she needs to get off her high horse and she disgusts him. He says he is sick of her acting like this, and he is asking what's wrong with her, and that he is going to get rid of her dog (who she loves and turns to more than anything.) all because she said she wasn't comfortable with him looking through her private drawings. Their mother isn't friendly and is stingy. The children always seem nervous around her. The mother is mean and she seems cold hearted. She doesnt feed them properly and she always argue with their father. The parents care more about money than their children, and the mother lies about and hides things that is going in their house. The children lie too. One girl said my parents dont care about money, and my mom said that is a lie. This same girl is clingy toward me, watches me too watch, and pays attention to what i say. ever since I turned 16 and got my first job at a horse ranch she has treated me like trash. I'm 20 and I am finally earning my diploma for earning credits and I currently enrolled in college and she didn't even congratulate me she just talked about bringing my dad to court because he won't pay secondary support for me and that's another story. now that I am about to officially graduate she's getting worse. I'm 14 and my mum and I still live with my grandparents. My mum was tricked into buying their old house as they convinced her it would be a good idea and would benefit us all. We've been living with them for 14 years now and It's far from good. They are so messy, the kitchen is always untidy. The dishes are always stacked up, beyond the top and almost touches where the tap releases water. There are several draws in the kitchen and I'm not allowed to have 1 draw to fit all of my baking utensils in either. My room is where the mops and sweeping brushes are kept because it's "easier". They still think it's their house and my mum said we can't move for years. It's like living with animals. We are trapped and I have no ideas what to do. By the way, I have tried to ask for a bit of privacy and they just laugh. I ask if they can be tidier and they say it it tidy but they are unable to see it. It's so dusty that I was hospitalised for 2 days due to it setting off my asthma. My mum does disagree with everything and sees my point of view. She's just too soft with them in my opinion. So does anyone have any tips on what I can do to make them tidier and get some more privacy???

I was at my wife's mothers, my mother in law's house and she was showing me her family photo album. It had pictures of her when she was in high school and college and to say she was beautiful would be an under statement. She was gorgeous. I feel my girlfriends family expect to much from her. She just called me (woke me up crying, and venting) Her mom is sick, and she has to take care of her. Sometimes she can't even finish eating or finish a cup of coffee. She sometimes jumps out of bed, or runs to help her mom half a sleep. She also has to keep up the house, and do errors for her grandma. Who will keep calling her if she is running late. (2-5 mins being late) Her grandma worried a lot. Even told her keep my girlfriends daughter home from school cause it was raining out. Her dad will also get crabby if she doesn't clean enough or puts off the dishes or something so she can relax. If she does get to go out her photo keeps ringing asking when is she going to be home. She is only allowed really to be gone a short amount of time. And home early. She has to take her kid everywhere with her. So she doesn't truly have any free time. When her kid is sleeping she is taking care of her mom, and grandma or cleaning. That's her everyday life. She actually started to cry because she accidentally tip over a milk shake she mad for her kid. I think she is overly stressed. This has been her everyday life for over a year now

I'm 13. My grandpa has bad Parkinsons. My grandma can't take care of him because he needs so much care and they have a lot of. Steps at there house so they will be moving into our downstairs basement . Now don't get me wrong I love my grandparents so much but I don't want them moving in here! My grandma has a problem with germs everything must be clean for her and that gets annoying. Also the downstairs used to be my playroom where I keep all my Legos and tv and games. she asks too much of me and always expects perfection. in the middle of this school year she took me out of public school and put me in an online school and i had to restart everything they whole damn year just boom restarted. i was a few hundred lessons behind at the start and it was a pain in the *** to catch up i finally caught up and i was doing decent (As and Bs) and i had a science project that was a 2 week project and the last day i went to record the last little bit of data and i notice that my project was missing and my mom said it was taking up too much space so she THREW IT AWAY. so i have to restart it and a week into it again she ****** it up again by dropping a rag into it and it soaked up most all the water and now i got 3 weeks behind in one class and she kept blaming me for being behind when it was her fault and she wouldnt let me do any other classes until that one was done and if i defied that request she would kick me out which makes no sense to me. and now its the end of school and i have all Ds and ive never made below a B so its pretty devastating and she got mad at me and said "your a ******* failure now. so i have to call you a failure, why cant you be like your brother" and that made me really angry so i just left i walked to walmart and then i went to my friends house which his mom turned me in so my mom came and got me and lost her mind again. and back to the brother thing hes 8 and hes failing WITH 6/100 shes too stupid to understand his grades.

Letting you know I still have a year left of high school I will be 18 in July and so will my guy friend. He is graduating this year. We plan on getting an apartment together in August both work at the same place and both make about $1150 a month I also have a second job that I make about $200 a month We are trying to find an apartment that is no higher than 900 I ve worked out what I think rent, utilities, food, gas, phone and stuff will be and I m estimating about 300 - 400 left over for both of us each month My parents don t think it s a good idea for me to move out at 18 before I graduate Reason moving out is because I m not happy at home Parents are in middle of a divorce going no where and constantly fighting with little bro I don t even have a bedroom for over a year now I have been sleeping on the front room couch Need my own space I can t ever bring my friends over because my house is so embarrassingly messy, I can t even begin to explain how gross it is There is alot going on at home feel like my depression is really bad because of home life. My little sister is in year 7... i am in year 11 and leaving soon. This mean the age gap between me and the bully is 4 or 5 years. I'm done with my life. I'm done. Since the first day my family split up I ask myself why is it happen to me. My mom then ask the right to adopt me and my other brother. i got off the phone with my mum abt five minutes ago and im honestly so scared, it was a fight about clothes... As usual.. She told me she wanted me to wear loose jeans with a long shirt.. What the **** is tht?? Thats a hideous outfit, so i gave her like 3 other suggestions.. She wont take them.. I got sick after I was performing at a school musical for one week straight and she blamed it on the fact I don't listen to them to me wearing uggies around the house and that wearing socks isn't good enough. I know for a fact that you can't catch a cold just by being cold because a cold is a virus. And I also know I should listen to her and I try but it's just a habbit I'm trying to break out on since it's been summer here in Australia and only now is it winter. I saw it yesterday in my drawer under my bathroom sink. Then today I went to use it and it was gone. I have searched everywhere for it. I even looked in my moms bathroom because she stole my hairbrush yesterday... I asked her if she stole anything else of mine and she said she didn't. So now I dont know where my razor is and I am not comfortable with asking my mom for another razor because we aren't that close.

Yesterday i broke my dads phone ( i am 17)AND when he asked ego of us did it i told my brother(he i 14) my dad ground him....he will be grounded for 3 weeks AND he cant leave the house AND he cant use nonr of the electronics devices.....my brother dont talk to me....AND i feel...gulity...Should i tell my dads the truth? Hello! Me and my young sister is currently living with my half-sister and my grandma in the province because my mom don't know who can take care of us because she's working. And we have our own home that's currently like an abandoned house because no one lives there. Were here for 1 year now and 2 months I think. We don't want to be here but we don't have any choice. Because we need to pay our taxes in my school if I transfer because I'm a scholar and my mom said next year we will live again in our old house but that's so long for now. BTW, the situation is, my half-sister's son who is six and my little sister is seven and I'm 13 and he is bullying me but usually my young sister that was making me angry and I'm like beating the s**** out of him but my half-sister and my grandma usually scold us if we payback and sometimes hit us but usually my young sis. My mom know this and she weekly go here but they are having a bad blood between my half sis and my mom and my grandma. And she cant do anything even she scolded him because usually she's away. And I feel bad because one time i rage because of him and i am the one who got scolded and my lil sis payback but she got scolded and hit too. help! Pls thanks for reading and amswering!

Reach out without getting sucked into her anger at my father (her ex-husband). Her bitter ways are the reason I have never gotten along with her. She is 60. The cancer is pretty serious though so I want to be generous assuming she only has a short time left. However, I can't let her bash my Dad 24/7 for stuff from 26 years ago.

Hello, my name is Elliott and I am a 16 year old male who is currently living with my dad (52), my older brother (21) and his boyfriend (20). They came to live with us about a week ago because their house is being updated and while I am really happy to see my brother again, I am not so happy to see his boyfriend. Um, his boyfriend is very open to his sexuality and he's kind of a bit excessive in expressing it, not to mention he is very bossy, very fussy, and extremely needy and it kind of drives me insane. Like I don't see what my brother sees in him. He has pink hair, always paints his nails, and wears clothing that I don't think is very appropriate and even shows off a lot of skin. He wears high heels, Makeup, and from what I have have caught on from them talking, even lingerie. He's kind of prissy. He's always bossing my brother around and when he doesn't get his way he gets really fussy. For instance, this morning he nearly slapped my brother, because my brother as too sick (cold) to go on a walk and last night he forced my brother upstairs by threatening to leave him because he wanted sex (which there room is right by mine and it is ridiculous how loud his boyfriend is. It's like he wants everyone to hear and it's disgusting). The day before, he got mad at my brother for even getting sick and told him to go sleep on the couch so he wouldn't get sick and an hour later got mad at him because he wasn't in their room cuddling him. I had a party last year when my mum was on holiday, we are fine now but she doesn't trust me to be in the house when she is out. She when away last week and last night I when home to stay the night, it was just me! The neighbors saw me and rang her, my natural instinct was to deni it but then I gave in. The neighbours came round to check for other ppl it was just me though. Then my mum rang my dad to come get me he's furious with me and I want to go out but feel trapped in his house and my mum gets back tonight. Hey guys. I don't know if this happens to you guys but sometimes when I can't fall asleep I just think about life. All the time though I start crying. I don't like my life. I know why. I'm 14, and my dream is to play professional soccer. I'm overweight though. My younger brother plays as well and he's better, according to my dad and uncle. I usually brush it off but it hurts. I'm not living the life I want to. My brother gets girls. I don't. I think about what would happen if I died. I only see my mom and dad crying. I don't see anyone else crying. I don't even have real friends. I don't go to the same high school as any of my friends from 8th grade. 9th grade passed and it wasn't what I wanted. I can't step a foot outside without my mom freaking out. I can't exercise. I know this is a little TMI, but everytime I look at my body before I shower and I hate it. I have a tooth behind my regular set of top teeth, I don't even know how to tie my shoes either. It's sad. It's disappointing. It's not who I want to be. I'm feeling so faithless, lost under the surface.

We were going out to eat - it took me about an hour and 15 minutes to get ready. OK, it sounds like a long time, but I had to take a shower, straighten my hair, put on makeup, pick my outfit, and more! The only one who kind of understands is my mom (she takes about 30 minutes to get ready, my dad and younger sisters take less.) So they have to wait about 45 minutes for me, and that made them mad. My dad and sisters say I like it's all about me but I don't think so. My boyfriend waits without complaining, why can't they? Are they right or am I? Do I take too long and do I act like it's about me?

We a have been sharing a house with my fiancé and their family of 5. Another extension of their family with 3 and we have a family of 3. We have the youngest at a year. The others are 3g, 4g, 6b, 8b, and 12g. The family of 3 just joined our already filled to capacity after the school year ended. The issues- you tell the children to do something they question you. You ask them to pick up after themselves they give you crap. You ask a question and they go every direction but. They don t have set times for anything. They say they don t have to listen to you and go to their mom and she tells them something totally different or worse just blow it off like your in the wrong. I couldn t have talked to my aunts and uncles like they do. If I even would have tried I would have got a quick slap to the mouth or across the head. It s insulting to have a 4yr old roll her eyes and blankly ignore you while her mom says nothing or just laughs when you explain the situation. So how would you tell your In-laws since you re locked in the lease for another year?

I recently started seeing my dad again after four years. He went into prison a drug addict and came out as a Christian. He isn't even the same person, he's great. He has a wife and three step children. He also has a very well paid job and so does his wife. They agreed that whenever my younger sister and I go to visit that they will both chip in on spending money on us. My sister is seven, almost eight, so she doesn't care about nearly anything. I on the other hand don't want him to spend money on me. The first visit we had, we stayed in my town and hung out here, seeing as meeting the whole family would be very overwhelming. He bought me a flipping phone. I DID NOT WANT A PHONE. He just randomly takes us to WalMart and buys me a $100 phone plus service, data, and a warrante. I did not want it whatsoever, he had just bought me two tablets a few months earlier. Then he bought my a $220 outfit. Didn't want that either. He insisted they were church clothes, I needed them. My last visit, he saw that my younger sister had cracked my new phone screen. He's now insisting on buying me a new one because she used the box and receipt for arts and crafts. I tell him all the time at least twenty times a visit that I don't want him to spend money on me. He says he hasn't seen me in so long, the least he can do for me for messing up in the past is spending money on me. Your thoughts? Any feedback is appreciated, thanks :))
