Question: How do I say no to my best friend wanting to hang out all the time? Posted: 01 Aug 2019 03:54 PM PDT My best friend just went through a tough break up with a long term partner. She has needed a lot of support and I've done my best to help her. She lives far away from me so this meant talking to her on the phone most nights out of the week for hours on end. I did this for a few months and now she is doing a lot better. Yay! But my fiancé has been getting annoyed with her (I don't blame him). She has changed a lot. Become very materialistic. She used to be hipster, off-beat, and school focused which is why her and I got along so well. Now she is make-up, Instagram and outfit focused. It's harder to relate to her now, but I still really care about her. The problem is, is that she wants to come up and visit me every other weekend this fall for like 4-5 days at a time. I told her awhile back that she'd always have a place to stay with me. But that was before she started driving my fiancé and I a little bonkers. She didn't ask my permission if she could stay. She just put the times on our google calendar. I don't know how to tell her that we don't want her coming up so often. She still is going through a hard time and doesn't have a very big support system. I don't want to hurt her feelings or ruin our relationship. Help. |
Question: Do you think life is a B and then you die ? Posted: 01 Aug 2019 03:49 PM PDT So far, i think it is true. People talk about finding meaning in life, i look at them like you must have grown up rich. Im so worried about surviving, paying bills, dealing with problems whether its health, financial, emotional etc etc to even give a thought to finding meaning in life. I thinks true for most people, to busy surviving. TO ME, so far, i think its absolutely true that life is a B and then you die. I have some fun here and there but its mostly work, bills, and dealing with problems. Life is a B, serious. Im exhausted. |
Question: Anyone know where I can get help for my mental health ?? / my mom is ignorant? Posted: 01 Aug 2019 02:22 PM PDT I'm not trying to brag at all that's the least thing I'd want to do but I'm the popular girl in highschool I'd say I'm very nice to everyone and everyone thinks I have it easy of course . I play basketball and softball and lately I can't get myself to play anymore I'm falling downhill & I can barley get out of my bed It's gotten so bad my hygiene is failing as well ... I know gross . But I tried to talk to my mom about it because I've contemplated before but she said I'm just a teenager and I'm being dramatic. I just laughed and said she's right because it has to always be her way . But Idk what to do all my friends think I'm doing great and my life is so easy but it's not and I don't know how to cope with myself anymore I don't know what I'm doing |
Posted: 01 Aug 2019 02:09 PM PDT I posted a photo on Instagram of me and a family friend when I was five years old. I didn't know his name because it has been so long. I found him on Instagram two months ago. My uncle commented on one of his photos on his profile and I was wondering if I should also comment saying this: "Hey Cody, did I used to follow you around and try to grab your attention when I was a child? Lol I remember bits and pieces of it, but I do remember perfectly well that my uncle told me not to bother you because I was trying hard to get your attention one day! I was pretty sad when you left our hometown because I thought you were pretty cool and my mom said you moved to Mexico. I didn't know what your name was since it has been so many years" Is this ok? |
Question: My daughter is being harassed my a teacher from our school? Posted: 01 Aug 2019 11:19 AM PDT so basically it's summer but her government teacher has been harassing her. she told me it all started when she got an email from the teacher asking how my daughter was and wanting to be friends, it continued when the teacher somehow acquired my daughters number and social media and has continued to pester her and even though my daughter blocks her, the teacher continues to make new numbers and beg to be unblocked saying she's sorry and just wants to be friends, and saying she's crying and really depressed. She texts my daughter daily and harasses her every day with new numbers on all social media. Some messages are threatening where she calls my daughter insults saying she's being mean and a terrible person for refusing to speak with her. I can't talk to the school because it's closed my daughter is 16 and the teacher is in her 40s |
Question: Did I do the right thing? Posted: 01 Aug 2019 10:30 AM PDT A Guy from High School has been borrowing money from me for months and months. He said, quite often that he would pay me back. When I told him to keep the money, he got all emotional and said that he couldn't, but when he gave me a tracking number to get the money(from Western Union), it was a dud. He then went on to say he needed $13 more dollars. I told him fine, but this is the last loan. Yesterday he said he needed $20 for a ride. I saw a pattern. Need money, promises, difficulties, need money, difficulties, promises. This had been going on since April or May, so I asked some other people what they think. They said I should block him because he was like this with them. So, I did, but what if he was telling the truth? Did I do the right thing? |

Question: Me and my friend have gotten comfortable, maybe a bit too comfortable? Posted: 01 Aug 2019 05:31 AM PDT Me (33m) and my (30f) friend have been close for around 4 years. We've been flirty with each other but have never gotten past that. Around 2 years ago I had to move to other city for work but we still keep in contact, like everyday. You could say that we've gotten to a point where we're comfortable to talk about just about everything. Now this may sound a little gross, but we've been so comfortable with each other that she even told me about gross stuffs. Like, we often texted when she was literally on the toilet pooping and she'd told me when she's done and had to wash (lol). Needless to say she has farted, burp, or pick her nose countless times in front of me or on the phone/video call. She told me that I'm the only guy that she does this with and I myself don't know any other girl who does this. I don't know if she's romantically interested in me because she'd tell me about all the guys who asked her out but she'd always insisted that she's not interested in any of them. She'd occasionally go out with some of them and she'd told me details of her dates, often things that I didn't even ask. Me dating her at this point is a no go because of distance and she knows that I've dated a few girls too. I simply find it amusing that we've gotten this comfortable with each other while not even dating. No, her behavior doesn't bother me but I'd like to know if it's something girls normally do with their male friends. |

Question: As an Ex writing to an Ex for the first time in months... would this be okay? Posted: 01 Aug 2019 02:45 AM PDT Basically I found an old picture behind a piece of furniture. And it belonged to the only person in my life I still think about years later. And while I tried to get into contact before I pretty much got shot down. But the person still lingers in my mind every day. And with finding the photo I was wondering what peoples thoughts are on a message like this for the first time in a long time in email: "I just found a picture today, behind a piece of furniture, and it made me think of you. Usually I would just get rid of it. But its a picture of you when you were a kid. On old film print. So it doesn t seem right to simply toss it. Do you want it back? And since I am talking to you... I know its been a few months, but I was wondering if you would be interested in being friends? I know I can t really recover what we used to have, and that both of us have moved on... But you re still an old friend that I have missed. And I was wondering, maybe, if we could just be that again." Regards, - JDRhoads" |
Question: How do you have healthy relationships with friends? Posted: 31 Jul 2019 11:51 PM PDT Sometimes in the past I have felt like I have overstepped some boundaries with friends and vice versa. We have stopped talking to each other a while now (half a year). |
Posted: 31 Jul 2019 11:50 PM PDT I got cash in the bank And I got no one to thank Spent every night working late on my own I've had girls in between But now I found me a queen And I can't think of a reason I won't Give her everything she's asking for Different than the love I had before But I still ask myself, "Will this be enough?" And even though I tend to have my doubts I like me better when she's around But I still question how I'm feeling so stuck What's better than you and me over everything? Can't think of anything but somehow I still complain Can't figure out why I'm waiting for things to change When I wouldn't change a thing I guess I can't complain I know my bills gon' be paid and all my problems will fade 'Cause most them things are relative, after all I took a good look around Turns out I like what I found And everything I worried 'bout was so small Now I make the money multiply Bet on myself and I see dollar signs But I still ask myself, "Will this be enough?" We mapped it out and stuck to the plan I bet these people think I'm the man But I still question how I'm feeling so stuck What's better than you and me over everything? Can't think of anything but somehow I still complain Can't figure out why I'm waiting for things to change When I wouldn't change a thing I guess I can't complain |

Posted: 31 Jul 2019 08:16 PM PDT Went to the pool today. I m 23 years old. while i was swimming around, some 8 or 9 year old girl I didn t know grabbed my inner tube and started playing with it without asking. I was shy so i didn t say anything and just let her and her friends play with it. She kept playing until I was leaving I shyly asked for it back. She was like "but it s so fun. just a few more minutes." this kept going on until i shyly and nervously asked her mom to tell her to give it to me. After I got it back I was leaving and for some reason started crying. I left really fast so nobody would see I started crying. I went to the pool solo because i didn't have anyone to go with but Why did I cry? |
Question: Can this type of friendship work? Posted: 31 Jul 2019 07:52 PM PDT I am a 30 year old woman from India, who is lawyer, and I have been in the country for 5 years. Over the years I adapted to American culture and made many great friends, but dating is still very hard. I am very tall and full figured at 6'7 300 pounds, and I still have an accent. I would ask out men and get rejected. I met this guy who lives in the neighboring apartment, whose 23 and works as a bartender and fitness instructor. He moved here from Italy and we developed a friendship being international and adapting to American culture. I give him life advice and am his older mentor he goes to about his problems. He is a VERY handsome man 6'2 220 pounds all muscle. After 6 months knowing him I admitted that I was attracted to him and asked if wanted to have sex. He said that I was not his type and he wasn't into women taller than him. I told him that I respected his boundaries and his preferences. I told him about my struggles dating, and he offered to help me with dating and Introduce me to other men. We still hangout as normal friends, and know each-others friends now. He respects the fact I have sexual feelings for him, and is ok with me touching myself when looking at his photos. I respect the fact he isnt sexually attracted to me. He constantly has women throwing themselves at him and sleeps with 2-3 new ones a week. I still struggle with men, but he is actively helping me. Even though there is one sided attraction, we still support each-other and have mutual friends. |
