She is using it pretty heavily and has lost her teeth, broke out in sores all over her body for some months (they're gone now), and is so skinny that she can wear children's clothing now. She would also come home with bruises and say she got it at work. She came home one day bruised up and her phone was missing and claimed that she had blacked out and fell down the stairs and lost her phone. My sisters and I made her go to the hospital because we knew it was a lie and asked her if she was back on meth. She continuously denied it but the hospital tests showed she had a large amount of amphetamines in her system that day. There are times I notice she has not slept for days maybe a week. She will be up cleaning. Even when there is nothing to clean she is organizing the same things, over and over again. I'm afraid that she will not live long. I am also afraid for my children's safety. Although she has never hurt or acted aggressively towards them, when she asks for them to stay with her for a couple of hours or just to go for a walk with her or take them to the park, I am terrified. What's the life expectancy of someone as heavily addicted as she is? I'd like to believe that my own mother will live a long life but I know what kids of lifestyle she lives and the consequences of her actions.

I'm 17 and I can't take my mom anymore. She doesn't let me stay home from school EVER. She's always on me about doing my homework and getting good grades, when I basically have all Cs, which is average. And anytime I tell her to lay the f*ck off, she cries. Last week, I had a blast with my mom. We went out and had a great time. But at the end of the day, she told me, "You are so fat!" I was like heh? Then she repeated it, and I got so upset. I am 17 years old and I am sick of my parents bossing me around. They are always telling me to get a job and do chores around the house. They also yell at me for breaking curfew, lying to them or whatever else I do that makes them mad. Last week we got our midterm report cards and they grounded me because I have 2 Ds on it. They also took away my cell phone and forbade me to see any of my friends outside of school, but i did anyway. I finally got ungrounded today but i still feel abused by my parents. Should I report them to CPS?

I am doing a report in psychology on the importance of a father-son relationship but i am stuck. I can think of many reasons why mother-daughter relationships are important and Mother and son and father and daughter relationships, but I am having trouble finding why father son relationships are critical for a child's development. Okay so I took my daughter's father to court for full custody of my daughter because he cannot take care of her by himself he has the help of his girlfriend which is fine now she says current baby mom and I'm his first in the past I took him to court for full custody and he's trying to tell me I'm not going to win and now his current baby mother is in the court office staring me down after the hearing what does this mean as far as me and her go I do not know why she showed up there it had nothing to do with her can anybody give me some advice as to why she's telling him to relocate because he does not care where he picks up and drop off his daughter he just listening to what she's telling him to do I do not understand why but I'm not relocating he's been coming to pick her up in Philly since we first broke up in 2013 I do not know why this is going on and I'm being interrogated about everything and it's beginning to be taking a really big toll on me. I am seeing someone new but they don't believe it because they don't see me drop my daughter off to them with my boyfriend there can anyone give me advice as to what to do do I just relocate closer to his house or meet halfway there's so much tension when we went to the hearing I ended up saying something really stupid as far as the financial situation which is only which had nothing to do with the hearing it was only for custody can anyone tell me what it is that is going on

Alright, before I start this I wanted to make a little preface. This isn't some sob story, more like a first world problem but it still gets on my nerves day by day. My mother and I don't have the best relationship but I work around that and try to spend time with her. She gets home from work, goes into the living room, and watches reality tv for about 6-8 hours. I am unable to talk to her at this time at all since she will snap back with "EVERY TIME SOMEONE WANTS TO TALK TO ME IT'S WHEN I WANT TO WATCH MY SHOW" or she'll ignore me, or say "SHH" until a commercial comes on. I wish I was trolling but this is literally what goes on, I really don't know how to approach the situation but advice would be nice; I really can't even talk to my mom. For icing on the cake, she tells me I don't spend enough time with her. Oh yeah, I'm 15, this has been going on for years.

To make a long story short I had a massive stroke and have been forced to live with my Mother the past few years. Prior to the stroke I lived on my own far away from Her and any form of Her controlling behavior. Since the stroke She has been able to exercise WAY too much control over me which I have resented. The problem is, anytime I try to reason with Her She immediately starts telling me I'm crazy if it opposes Her opinion, and blames the stroke. I am not illogical and have legitimate concerns/problems sometimes, but She absolutely refuses to take any responsibility if one has been caused by Her. Instead, vehemently denying it, calling me crazy, and blaming the stroke. Which is always Her tactic when She doesn't want to hear about something. I'm sure She has sacrificed a lot, but since I've had to deal with Her as a reliant adult on a regular basis, I have grown to severely dislike Her and find Her to have a horrible personality.

This basically starts with my mother and sister. They have painted me out to be the worst person. So much dysfunction and hate it is unbelievable. Started when I was a little girl...my mother always treated me differently. I've never met my father and have been told he was a married man who tricked my mother into thinking he was single. I was mostly raised by my maternal grandmother who loved me unconditionally. My mother was an alcoholic most of my childhood. When I was about 6 she had another baby with a man she adored. He turned out to be an alcoholic and would beat her on the regular. She's had so many black eyes and busted lips it's no wonder she is still breathing. Nevertheless, she and my sister are like sisters. I've always been on the outside looking in but it never bothered me much because their lives were filled with turmoil. What pains me the most is my sister has 4 children who I absolutely adore but have no relationship with. My mother is an evil woman who feeds off gossip and negativity. She can sit on the telephone all day and talk about people and how bad she thinks they are...a horrible person. She hides behind church and long skirts but inside she has evil tendencies and has always looked for ways to show others up as the bad person. I find that I am always in defense mode...which comes off bitchy. No one else is going to defend me and I am sick of hearing things that have been said about me that I know have come from my mother. Honestly, I can't stand her. I've had a few abortions when I was younger. I learned a few years ago in her effort to prove how bad of a person I was she told some members of my family. Now I get random phone calls from family members hinting on that they know and "miss goody two shoes" ain't all that good after all. I was a young girl back then...in my teens and very early twenties. I am now 43 and have since grown and made better decisions. But every chance both she and my sister have they will throw up in my face how they really feel and how bad of a person they think I am. What a horrible way to be! They'll never talk about how I've graduated college and purchased my first home in my early thirties...never been to jail...smoked...or really depended on anyone other than myself. God has been good to me and I'm grateful. As a result me own life is filled with uncertainty...indecisiveness...and often mean spirits. Parts of me wish I knew my fathers family...probably have more in common with them. I've been thinking about reaching out to him lately. I do know his name...he's on FB and I have his address. Would this be a good idea? He is now an old man as he was much older than her when I was conceived. What are your thoughts?

So basically i'm a 19 year old girl who always seems to start something and never want to finish? I've been in college twice now and i failed the first time because i just got bored with it so when i'd come to school i would just go into the computing commons and go on the computers until it was time for me to go home. When i'd go home i'd tell my mom a lie and be like "yeah school was good" I'm doing it again this year and i can't seem to focus and pay attention even though in my mind i've set these goals and expectations like yes, i'm going to finish and then i'll become a successful Flight Attendant and i'll be happy, but it's like i can just never finish. Last summer 2016 I graduated high school. My husband's father is coming over, short notice, Friday, to stay the weekend. I asked my brother, who is 13, if he'd help clean the house (and I mean CLEAN, wipe walls, dust, not spot clean), but he does not have a particular price in mind. He simply states "I don't care". We have 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a living room, dining room, kitchen and my studio. However, the house is small and I would not expect him to clean either bathroom, either bedroom or my Studio. I also would like him to help my husband with the yards, but that only consist of whatever the puppies destroy while I'm at work today. So, that leaves him the yard, the dining room and living room. My husband and I would be helping of course and we would have dinner with him as well. How should I go about deciding what to pay for this? He usually works hard and is a really great kid, so I want him to know I appreciate his help, but did not know what to offer. Should I pay something hourly or have an overall set price? My brother doesn't live with me and we take good care of the house. We just recently moved here and I wanted assistance in cleaning things while I organized and removed some of the "clutter" since the house came "pre-furnished" and its time to go through my son's room and get rid of clothes that may not fit him anymore.

I found out I'm related to my A-Level psychology teacher. I recently found out that she's the granddaughter of my dad's sister (my aunt). I don't know what relation it is - but is either first cousin, once removed or second cousin. I have psychology for two hours on Monday afternoon and three hours on Wednesday morning. I am 17, in the 12th grade, and I have already missed school several times this semester due to feeling sick in the morning....today, I was sick, and I missed school, and my mother left for work early in the morning before I became sick, and when I called her to tell her I was missing school, she got very mad and refused to let me stay home, and said she was telling my father....My father is very distant from me, as he is divorced and hardly visits me...last he visited me was a year ago.....he only talks by phone.....he hasn't talked to me (except to yell at me) the past 3 days, and now he won't talk to me even more.....yesterday, he called me just to yell at me.......my mom is very mad, and doesn't believe I am sick, but I called my therapist because i felt panicked that I was going to jail for truancy....because my mom won't excuse my absences.....he assured me i wouldn't go to jail......and he said i don't sound like i'm faking it, and thinks, based on how im talking and the symptoms i described,that i am sick......but my mother wont pick up the phone, and i have a test tomorrow that we were going to study for today.......and im missing a lotof valuable instruction.....this keeps happening....i fearfor when i have a job, because my boss will likely fire me.....what should i do?

My grandfather is not taking his medication and tells people that my mother and his home health aide are trying to kill him. He says he has a plane to catch and calls and asks people back home if they can pick him up from the airport at 3am He is obsessed with the phone calling people and saying others are trying to kill him and when the aide tries to take the phone away he has tried to physically attack her. I told my mom that it's time for a nursing home. I don't think he can live in an apartment with an aide. My mother goes INSANE when I say nursing home and says no never and won't listen. She is a VERY difficult person and as you can see it runs in the family. How do I handle this? Take him to the emergency room? Wait for a lawsuit from the agency caring for him? I don't know

Hi. im 15 years old. I've done some bad stuff in my past but i changed, or at least i tried. # weeks ago my mother bought a restaurant for the family. I could finally have a job and earn some money! i was extremely happy. Til this morning, it was time for school, i was getting my little brother backpack. I froze when i saw the cash register there. There were so many dollars and many kinds in there. i couldn't control myself. i tried grabbing just a 20 dollar bill for a little treat for lunch, but then ended grabbing 100 dollars. i tried putting it back, but my mother was yelling my name that it was time. I went out to the porch, regretting everything. I heard footstep coming to the door, i pulled out the money, and as soon she opens the door, i gave it to her. She grabbed my hand and say "When you get home, we are going to have a long talk about this." I know what i have done, i will punish myself for this, but i can't really changed. My parents are foreign and very old fashioned. My moms best friend is married with a baby and my mom goes to the gym with her husband so he can help her out a bit. Well my dad being old faishoned asked her about him and when she told him the truth my dad starting yelling non stop and got really pissed then got up stomped towards her and gave her a smack across the face. My father also does not know the man himself. His defense is that she shouldnt be hanging out with another man unless its a relative. I think hes very jealous. they have been in verbal fights before but this is the first time my dad (from my knowledge) put his hands on her. What should i do?

Recently my professor passed away and I was very hurt and devestated by it. I got close with his sister and we've mourned through it together. I was suppose to go to a competition in Houston and she said "Let me know what dates and I WILL Go!! I want to see you!!" But my competition got stationed to Dallas. I'm a bit bummed because I don't think she'd want to go visit me now since I won't be going to her town and it's so far away. I really wish I could see her, I'm stressing to find a way to make it possible. It's upsetting because I'm not able to or nothing is working out. Any advice?

Does this mean you're messed up if you can't even afford to buy your own house or rent one because of this? If you were looking for a job, and you have been filling out job applications online since May. And 75% out of the 100 you filled out, replied back to you saying they only hire people with 10 years of experience, which you don't have because for you to have that you would need to have been working since you were around 6+ years old. And some have turned you down because you don't know how to drive and have no car. You only filled out every application that was in your area. You live in a small part of town and have no public transportation or bus the closet one is 40 minutes away by car. But, you have also seen available jobs(online) but those are in a few towns over and 50 miles away and you would have to walk there(not a problem) but 50 miles takes a long long time. What would you do? I don't currently have any friends who are able to help me out with this. I have asked and they're all busy or forget about the situation. Not really... Like I said, I've only been applying to the ones close by in my area. I have only been applying to the ones available

I managed to save up enough money where I can pay off my student loans in full. Interest and all. I have started making monthly payments to pay them off slowly. I also have some in case of medical emergencies and am trying to maintain that money bc I'm expecting a kid next week. This will be my first. I've lived with my mom since graduating college and pay for the rent. However, bc I have money, I have to pay most of the rent instead of 50/50 since she pays for light, water, and cable. I pay for my own gas, groceries, and car insurance and maintenance fees. It's a decent trade off since I'd be struggling if done alone. But now I'm going to have to do it alone. My mom says she's helping but she takes out or does things that aren't on my priority list. Things like get me food when I already have food and wanting money back for it bc she can't return fast food that I never asked for. Or get all my tires replaced when I only needed one replacement and I got the other tires replaced during the summer and wanting money for that by tmrw. Offering to help with the baby for free until I get on my feet and then being an Indian giver and wanting to charge me $400 to keep the future baby for 3 hrs, 5 days a week after I go back working. My family is like you got money and you can do all these things. I don't think I should spend money on things that aren't necessary at the moment. I'm focused on student loans and how to afford to raise a kid now after my maternity leave is up.

Back in my country children are OBEDIENT they think parents CONTROL there lives. So parents literally tell there children what to wear, eat, who marry, there life career and the children's just say yes thinking that's how life is. So my dad wanted marry my mom he told her parents. Her parents said ok to him and my mom just said yes to marrying him with a "ehh whatever I got listen to my parents" expression because she THOUGHT that her parents will CONTROL her marriage and that's how life is. I get really depressed when I think about the death of my grandmother. She raised me when I was a kid. I also think about all of the fun memories I had as a kid. Knowing that I will never see her or hear her voice again makes me feel extremely sad and down. I was the oldest and her favorite grandson. I just feel down right now.

So my mom is currently in surgery for fibroids, my grandma and my dad were crying and they seem to over sob it a bit when I'm around, I just left the room because I felt very uncomfortable, I just don't know how to handle sob situations.. don't get me wrong I am too worried sick about my mom because she's anemic too but I just don't feel comfortable when someone expresses their feelings in front of me.. is there something wrong with me??

I also feel ashamed we are the only ones not to go. I am 14 so I can't go where I want like someone in the family section told me. What do I do? How can I have fun? Same question for Thanksgiving as we can't go then either. My mother did the same last year and the holidays sucked.

My Mom says if my Dad loved he he would not have left her 4 years ago. How can I find out if this is true and he doesn't love me or if he still does without outright asking him? He only sees me a little which is another reason my Mom said he doesn't love me even if he likes me some. She said he does not hate me, he just doesn't love me.

Is it right to have messed up parents, who call you overweight 24/7 just because you weigh 126 pounds at 5'7? They call you that based on what the scale says you weigh(126 pounds) but you have no flabby skin, and they shame you every time you eat anything. Even though you never eat junk food/fruit/sugary stuff/ and dairy/soda. But your parents weigh like 150 to 200 pounds each yet they can eat and don't shame themselves. Is this right? If this was happening to you, would you make yourself go down to 116 pounds from 126? I eat 900 calories a day so it's not like I overeat. I don't want to just deal with it, I'm sick of these Idiots constantly calling me overweight. -Brandon

I'm 14 and a few places hire at my age so I was debating just getting a job to get away from my house (and to collect some extra cash of course). I'm cyber schooled and anytime im at home and not doing work my mom is yelling at me trying to get me to do more. Even if I did 5x the amount I was supposed to do she's still telling me to do more. I can't take it anymore. I wake up, eat, do school, eat, do school, get on my phone for a few minutes until my mom yells at me, do more school, go to bed. She still wonders why I stay up until 5am. Because I don't get any time to do anything else otherwise! If I had a job (example, shop n save) I can just re stock some shelves instead of overloading my brain with way too much information. I usually forget everything I learn right after because I'm being rushed and pressured. I could ask to just stay at my grandparents for a while since they have an extra bedroom and I don't have a bedroom at home which makes it worse because I can't get away from my mom as she doesn't have a room either. My living situation is terrible and I just can't wait to move out but for now it's either a job or grandparents please help :(((((

Recently my professor passed away and I was very hurt and devestated by it. I got close with his sister and we've mourned through it together. I was suppose to go to a competition in Houston and she said "Let me know what dates and I WILL Go!! I want to see you!!" But my competition got stationed to Dallas. I'm a bit bummed because I don't think she'd want to go visit me now since I won't be going to her town. And it's so far away I really wish I could see her, I'm stressing to find a way to make it possible. It's upsetting because I'm not able to or nothing is working out. Any advice?

Ok so my parents have broken up shortly after i was born and that was years ago , so im used to visitingm y dad weekend yes and weekend no. I like them and they like me however. My dad is kinda harsh and always has grim expressions , and he used to preassure me a lot with school until that i told him i wasnt gonna show up unless i agreed to. The only moment he was proud of me was in 4th grade when my grades got higher. Anyway as for my mom she used to back me up a lot. Shes nice and all but she does have a bad atittude , anyway. i dont know why but i cant connect with my parents its just something that repels me. I got one dad that only thinks about work and one mom that is relaxed to that stuff but her personalitty doesnt match up to mine that much. I never grew close to my parents , emotionally i raised myself. So what is that why im not close to my parents ? Or what ?
