She follows me everywhere to make sure thats where I'm really going and comes around my work every once in a while to see if I'm there. She constantly threatens to call the police on me if she finds out that I'm seeing my boyfriend (of three years), threatens to take my car if i see him (and refuses to take me to school or work), always asks for the names, numbers, and addresses of the people I'm hanging out with and she texts my friends, manipulating them to tell them what "bad stuff" i've been doing and one of my friends even told me that my mom was "so sure" that i had been smoking, that she convinced my friend that I was and in turn, my friend told my mom I had been doing something I wasn't. My mom manipulated my friends so they would tell her what she wanted to hear so she could use it against me. Our current relationship makes me want to move out and never talk to her again. I think she's crazy but my mom always tells me that this stuff is normal. Is she manipulating me to think that, or is she really insane??? |

I don't care that she's conservative- that's her business and her right- but I don't appreciate her belittling my views. She made homophobic comments about the LGBT community while discussing Caitlyn Jenner, saying that LGBTs are "disgusting." This made me want to punch her face in. She makes me so mad sometimes. We have been friends for 4 years and do everything together, and im also very close to their boyfriends, in a platonic way. 4 years ago I came to the US for med school from India. I tutored these 2 undergrad girls(who were 20 at the time), and we became close friends. They introduced me to their boyfriends(who were in the army at the time) and I got along with their group, and they made me feel welcome. Since then we became good friends.For starters i feel awkward as a fifth wheel, around them and I am still a virgin(not by choice). I am also 4 years older than mary, jane and both their boyfriends. On top of that, They all are born and raised in the US and I am from India and have a thick Indian accent. The final reason is that physically stand out, from the group and feel like the ugly single one in group. I am 6'4 chubby weighing 250 pounds, dark skinned indian(think minday kaling but a foot taller.) Jane is 5'8 white, with dark hair, tanned skin, medium build(not skinny but not thick or chubby). Mary is Asian 5'8 with similar build to jane(both with volleyball player type bodies). Janes boyfriend is light blonde, and Mary's boyfriend is a redhead(not ginger)boyfriends are both 5'6 each, lean(slimmer than their girlfriends), but ripped with defined muscles and a both have six pacs. Weve had many great memories together, and i enjoy spending time with them. Dont tell me to make new friends I have other friends. Of all my friend groups I feel closest to this one, and they feel that way about me. Posted: 20 Mar 2016 12:33 PM PDT At first, we welcomed her to the group because we felt bad for her (She's in a lot of the special education classes because of a speech disorder and she's a tad slow) and at first, I noticed she liked to do the same things I do (Which wasn't weird considering I'm the oldest and the 'entertainer' of the group) but then I she started copying me (Not a big fan but I learned to deal with it) soon, she started trying to push me away from the group by getting inbetween us (She legit pushes me ahead so I can't get near them) and now my friends are getting annoyed by her to, one of our biggest pet peeves is being touched because we don't like being hugged or high fives (We all kind of live with it, we just don't like touch), which we ask her politely to stop but only continues. As of lately, my depression has been coming back (It's not related to this, but it is starting to) and my friends know to let me be, but she keeps going on (My friends explain that she needs to stop, but she STILL CONTINUES) It's gotten to the point in my group where we just kinda stop talking to each other and blankly stare at one another. As I expected it didn't happen. #1 the people she was going to invite arent the "go out for ladies night" type. #2 she is unreliable with following through with plans. A day after the alleged dinner which she never called to cancel, good thing I didnt head to where we were to meet at, anyways she texts that she let go of the idea because its complicated getting women together. I stated "its complicated when you people are unreliable and have different interests. Of course with her response to mines the convo took on a form of its own(not in a good way). I didnt mean to type "you people", just meant to say "people". I though to clear the air and state I didnt mean "you" people" as to include her. Though subconsciously i did because I I expected she didnt show up nor follow up prior. So should I clear the air or leave it as I did with her taking offense to me including her in the you people. Because truthfully I do feel that way about her I just didnt mean to say it. When junior high school started, only 4 friends came to same school and same class with me. But then one of them moved away, second started to have some mental issues and stopped going to public school, the third one went to a different gang and ditched me and my last, best friend. Now I ve been alone for the whole eight grade, in my class there s just a lots of little groups of friends which are always together, I can t get into any of those. I haven't had the same outlook on the world since 7th grade. My friends didn't like that I wouldn't change who I was just to fit in and they all pushed me away. It's been three years now. I'm 15 in 10th grade and it's only gotten worse. I create characters and stories and I feel that they are the only ones that understand me. I don't have a lot of friends, let alone a best friend. Sometimes I'll be in the middle of a story and I'll just pause and get really depressed because I know it's not real. Then when I try to push away the characters and make friends with the people at my church or school, they humor me for a few minutes then never talk to me again. This really isn't easy for me to talk about. I create these characters to be there for me if I ever try to make a bad decision. They're there to make me feel that I matter to someone that isn't faking it. I don't know what I'm expecting to get as an answer but if you have any advice, please help. |

Posted: 20 Mar 2016 10:37 AM PDT This is something I've been wondering about myself because generally when I'm around other people I have this huge urge to get everyones attention but my anxiety and nervousness stops me from doing anything. This is not the case though if I meet a friend. With my friends I will do anything to get and keep their attention because I'm afraid that if I'm not doing anything silly they will find me boring and it will be awkward. I also feel disconnected from my friends when they don't seem to be reacting to the attention im giving to them. (Criticizing or ignoring me etc ) and I'll do anything so that I can stand out in my group of friends. (Stealing things and blaming it on others, lying, starting drama, doing crazy dares, etc) Usually my friendships don't end well because I do something crazy that they dont like. I know that sounds a bit mean but I just can't text her everyday. I've been able to handle it since the beginning of the school year, but honestly all we ever talk about is the guy she likes and nothing else. Like we even text on the weekends and then we somehow manage to still talk about the guy she likes. Posted: 20 Mar 2016 10:28 AM PDT Ok long story short in 2 months ago me and some friends were high in a lil trailer in my friends backyard and this guy (I'll call him BG) BG thought I was talking crap over the music playing and he followed me outside when I took a piss and told me a lot of bull shet and then he tackled me to the ground and beat me and I could barely move cuz I was high and when they pulled him off me I got up and he was reaching I'm his pocket and everybody pinned him against the fence and told me run. I ran to the front yard of my friends house and 2 of my friends cane shortly after and said he had dropped his knife in the trailer before coming after me and I would've been stabbed. He then GOT BACK into highschool the next Monday just to tell people he beat me and to look at me scary through my class door windows and yesterday (it's now been 2 months later) he called me a fat kid as he walked by w 3 his "homies" at the carnival.I k ow I can KO him cuz I've been in combat training ect. But when I'm sober he's either with homies to fight for him or driving in a car with a knife (he ALWAYS carries it) everybody is scared of him and they think I am too I want to show people he ain't SH*T how do I fight him without getting quadruple teamed or stabbed?! |

It is well known in the company that Bob will not hit on his employees. So we all want to work for Bob. What is so ironic is Bob is 27, single, and the hottest and sexiest guy any of us have ever seen. In fact we want him to hit on us but he won't. Several of us have asked him for a date and he tells us all the same thing. "It really pains me to turn down a date with a beautiful woman but I can not date anyone that works for me. Promotions and raises will be determined by merit, not sleeping with boss". We have a dilemma. We can transfer out of Bob's department and work for a crappy boss and date Bob or work for him and not be hit on. One girl Joan did transfer out of his department and said Bob was the best date she ever had. As you can imagine Bob is the talk of the employee break room. Being girls we ask Joan how was her date with Bob. She said Bob made her feel like a teenager in the back seat of a car again. We all know what she meant. Is if fair that a boss will not date anyone that works for him? |
| Question: Should I dump my friends for doing this? Posted: 20 Mar 2016 10:21 AM PDT I am a high school girl with a stepfather that is 10 years older than I am. My mother remarried a much younger man. He is the greatest dad any girl can have and I adore him. After hearing other girls my age talk about their dad, I think I am the luckiest girl alive. He is always there when I need help with anything. I have learned so much from him. My problem is when I have my friends over or I go to a school event, they all want to flirt with him. They tell me how lucky I am to have a hot and sexy stepdad. I sure don't think of him that way. He totally ignores all of their flirting and never says anything to me about it. However it embarrasses me to no end. I tell my friends to stop flirting with my dad and they will stop for awhile but the always start again. They tell he is just too cute not to flirt with. I am thinking about not having my friends over to hang out with me and not having dad go with me to school events so I will not be embarrassed. I would hate to do that. Since it does not seem to bother my dad as he ignores these girls, should I just forget about it and not let it bother me? |

| Question: How to deal with a new friend? Posted: 20 Mar 2016 10:13 AM PDT I'm worried, nervous, and extremely shy/awkward. Even though I'm always isolating myself from making friends [meeting people] and people in general, I always wanted a new friend to hang out with and be there for them. Plus, there's this one person whom I wanted to meet for the longest time and be friends (or more) with them. I'm an introvert who is scared of most things, but friends are kind of hard especially new ones. Well, a person asked me if I wanted to be friends with this person, at first I was confused of what to say. I said no. Then moments later I said yes cause I wanted to but was kind of scared of the consequences. They told them and now the person told them to ask me if I wanted to be their friend. I said yes. So now, we're friends. It's not OFFICIAL yet. Because we still need to get the message from each other. I'm just nervous and idk how to act with them or approach myself to them. I wanna just wait a little. In 2014, they said no. In 2016, this happened. I'm not sure how this will work. I'm not friends with their friends. And I don't know his circles. Some of their friends do talk to me though but not just to become my friend, just random or that I have them in my class, etc. Help? How do I start a conversation if I'm the awkward, wanting to be myself (unique or different), and quiet person? Idk I'm quite random and don't know what to do. THNX so much. Our friendship is not official yet, but I'm scared of what will happen or what they will do. Do I just say hi in the hallways or wave? I don't have them in any of my classes, but they do have the same teacher in different classes. We're in middle school btw. They abuse me , and humiliate me and they don't even care. Last week they followed me after school without me knowing, I went to bathroom before I left & they followed me in. They pushed me into the biggest stall & grabbed me. One of the girls Riley, talked to me like a dog, she told me to get on my knees. I did as I was told & still nothing good came. She called me a stupid ***** and spit in my face so I said "**** you" to her , she grabbed my hair and shoved my head into the toilet water. She let me back up quick and asked if I liked that, I thought saying yes would make her mad and stop but it made it a whole lot worse. She put my head in again & this time put her foot on the back of my head , after about 25 seconds I started freaking out. The other girls held my hands and legs, I really thought she was going to drown me. She let me back up when I almost passed out and I started begging, and she laughed and said I thought u liked it. She told me my head is going back In if I don't start apologizing for my language that I said to her. I said sorry, like a bunch of times & her other friend came up to me and told me to open my mouth and spit in it. They left , and ever since then I've been taking the abuse every single day, I'm scared to tell anyone because I know what these girls are capable of and don't want to make it any worse |

Everyone was invited to English laboratory by the teacher and I opted to sit still on my chair because the pain was great I can barely do anything. There was 2 other friends. A janitor came to clean the classroom noticed my the pain on my face. She told me that I can go to the bathroom if I need to poop. And so I went straight there, although those 2 pals surely heard the conversation. After I finished my business, went back to class, everyone had already back to the class. Those 2 pals surely told everyone in class that I went shitting, because then one of my classmate ask me if I have washed my hands with soap after wiping. I said no and the whole class laughed. My face was red due to humiliation. My friend: It was at the middle of the break time at school when my classmates (around 7-10 people) invite me to go with them. Turned out that we were going to a toilet stall. Since the toilet door broken, they can break open and saw directly my friend (from other class) there. It was a squatting toilet and we could see his diarrhea in the toilet bowl and his naked bottom half. It surely was quite humiliating for him, since he was a respected boy in the school. She had one end and I had the other. I thought I was fine, but I guess I must have been walking too fast for her, because she stopped and said "Hey can you walk a little slower, I'm a little bit smaller than you in case you haven't noticed." and there was another time where she and another girl were both carrying something and it seemed heavy but I thought they had it, so I didn't jump in to help and she said "So you see two small people struggling and you don't help?" I didn't think they needed help but she could have just asked and I would have helped. There was another time that I heard her describing me to someone else and she referred to me as "the big one". There was another time where I heard her talking about me while she thought I couldn't hear and someone was talking about how my facial expression always looks mean and the girl said "yeah haha that's just her face." I'm very quiet and don't talk much in school. I've always been known as the shy girl and people always tell me that I look mean or sad or scared all the time and I'm really insecure about it. I'm also insecure about my weight because I am bigger than the other girls in my class, and I felt like that girl was always pointing out my size over the years and it made me feel bad. I'm a Senior now and I hardly ever see that girl, but she doesn't say stuff like that anymore. At least not to my face lol. |

At first I thought it was just me, but turns out everybody else is too. she kept doing things that annoy me so much and i don't know if its intentionally or its just because i dont like her that much? things that she does are; putting her feet/bags/clothes (anything) on my bed- even when theres tons of space on hers and im right there, keep reminding me of the bills (even though she'll pay it later than the actual time), being so loud with her visitors which she always bring inside our room without my permission/notice, uses the extension wire all by herself when its for sharing (its sole purpose), sings randomly when im trying to study/watch something and more |

A part of me wants to stay here until August and undergo a life changing journey by wwoofing and meeting new people. Yet I've already been here for three months and haven't really found my niche. A part of me wants to go back home early and just spend the summer back with my friends in Colorado. I've signed up to take a permaculture design course in July in Australia so I feel committed, but I also have a lease I'd need to sublet for the summer in Colorado. I'm just starting to doubt myself and am worried that I'll get extremely lonely and that this will end up being an expensive experience overall. This will also be my last summer spent in Colorado to hang with all my college friends before I move back to my hometown. What would you do? |
