When my husband makes her breakfast she eats about 3/4 of an egg and leaves all the rest. He will sit with her at the table. When its days I make her breakfast and sit with her at the table she takes one bite then chews and chews that one bite for 15min abd wont swallow it, I dont talk to her at the table because it ends up with her letting her foid get cold she ends up talking the entire time and doesnt touch her food. But when shes chewing one bite for 10-15min she is constantly looking at my face scared/afraid. In the past I have yelled at her and made her cry for not eating, I have pushed her off the dinner chair and dragged her to her room for not eating, I assume she is thinking of all that while watching me sut at the table. However, that has passed, now all I do is give her the food, and time it for 20min, but I dont talk to her at all, and if shes not eating for those 20min I dont say say/do anything to her. After the 20min I take her off the chair, and take her food away.

I have this slight disability in my right arm where I can't straighten or bend it or raise it over my head and although I'm 15 I've only ever had one operation on the NHS (public) and that was three years ago, the surgery BTW did nothing. All being on public healthcare did was recommend physiotherapy. (Also I'm sure they misdiagnosed what's wrong with my arm) in the past I kind of never took my bad arm seriously but recently I've been doing a LOT of research on what it could be and what the best treatments are, but I don't think they will ever happen because of how slow/incompetent the NHS are being. They told me in december that id be seen again in January/ February, it's now march and I haven't heard anything from them. I really want to go private so I can have the operations I need before its too late, public hospitals don't take it seriously because its not a debilitating thing like a spinal injury, so naturally I get pushed to the bottom of the list. But it's debilitating to me. My mum says Private is too expensive, but I don't think she's ever looked into it or into getting private health insurance. How can I convince my parents? (And we're not really a family that struggles with money)

I'm an 18 year old male in high school. I have ADD but I feel like I'm such a screw up. I haven't been able to focus in class for most of my life and my mom and dad always scolded me for it. I have a hard time socializing and recently my father passed away. My mom has had times where she yells at me for different things out of the blue and when going to a urologist for a peeing issue I had, I really had to go #2. So I'm homeschooled, and decided to have a day off because everyone else is. My parents were okay with that, but they wanted to check my school. I got some c's and b's in math, which i knew they would not be happy about. I was already trying to keep this from them for a couple weeks, because I knew they would punish me. I got some problems wrong and i accidentally got some also. So everything is fine, until they come down with my computer and start yelling at me. They weren't happy with b's, which is really good I don't get why. They just were like you aren't trying hard enough in school. In real school you wouldn't get second chances. Which I get, but there is such thing as accidentally clicking the wrong problem when you know the right answer. Which happened to me. Then they were like you need to do school, I got really pissed because I waited all week to have a day off. So I hit my dads hand. He said give me your phone. And like tackled me and held me down. He took it out of my hand before I could shut it down. I don't get why all these events just happened. But lets just say a good day turned into the worst day possible and now I'm crying. It's not fair. I know I sound overdramatic, but imagine this. You wait weeks for a day off of school. Finally you get one, they make a deal to check your school work. Then you get a day off. You think everything is alright until they come into your room yelling at you and forcing you to do more school. Keep in mind that they want me to do 3 lessons of math, which takes me 4 hours to do or more. Especially since they want it to be on paper and for me to write everything down. I tried saying to do it next week+ But then they were like, no you have to do it today, and were extremely inconsiderate and incapable of being compromising. They never listen to me, even when I try to make a deal with them. I felt like everything that could possibly go wrong has. So I'm sitting here crying and trying to think of what to do. I realized that as an older brother it s my duty to protect my younger sister no matter what. I ve read up on how to prevent these kinds of things happening but most of the articles are targeted at parents, I want to know what I as an older brother specifically can do to prevent something of this from happening.

Three days ago, I was babysitting my two sisters, a 9 and 7, after my parents left, I told them to do your homework but the 9 one said," You're not my mom!" But I told her that I was her babysitter though, so then things got out of hand. At lunch she said she wanted to eat later. The only problem is that if I didn't get my sister's to follow their schedule, I could get punished so I told her that she had no choice, then she called me cursed words . I told her that I will call our mom now, while I was dialing she attacked me, I will never lay a hand on my sister,but I was bleeding, scratches all over me her nail marks on my arms. I got upset, the phone NOW was in my sister's safe , nobody knows the code, so I fidgeted with the lock. I ended up having nothing but blood so I put Band-Aids on me , I know this might seem weak but I am 13, for a 9 attacking me . The 7 follows the 9 but didn't attack me which is good I punished both though by sending them to their room. When my parents came home they punished ME because I'm older! I suspected the 9 exaggerated. Now me and my 9 haven't talk since the fight and tomorrow my parents won't trust me for babysitting them tomorrow. How can I bring things back to normal? Honestly I said a few curse words back.

I got in a fight at school with a kid from my class, he is always talking sh*t about me. I got mad and told him that he needed to stop, he pushed me and I punched him in his face. My teacher got mad and kicked me out off his class. I went back to him after class and asked him why the other guy wasnt kicked out. He ended up calling my parents, he said that i was disrespectful and talking back. My mom and i talked about it in a normal way, but my dad is the problem. He is very aggressive and gets really mad when something like this happens, the last time that this happend he got really mad and hit me. He told me that the next time would be a lot worse than that. I dont know what to do now, he will literally beat me up when he gets home. What should i do?? So I'm 19. I live with my mom and I think she's very controlling. I'm an adult and she gives me 8pm curfews and checks to make sure my room is clean before I leave the house. Well, I'm an adult and I want the freedom to be a bit messy and have a social life at the same time. BUT I lived with her anyway. Her house, her rules, right? So I've lived here and followed her rules. What is getting me to move out finally is that she's being verbally abusive recently. I"m not going to tell her that, but she is. I don't feel comfortable or safe living here, and I'm afraid she's going to hit me or damage my things when I tell when I leave. I have a lease and move in April first. I wanted to tell her the day I was leaving, but all of my friends are encouraging me to give her more notice. I know I'm making a very emotional decision moving out because I am very unhappy, so I'm trying to put more of an emphasis on their judgement than I otherwise might. Another part of this is, that she has threatened to kick me out with no notice, in the heat of arguments, and she has (for a day or two). So I honestly don't feel compelled to give her any kind of notice about leaving. As a parent, what would you expect from your child in terms of notice that they were leaving? Maybe I should rephrase this a bit: I don't what to tell her until the day I move out because I'm afraid she'll be angry, violent, or damage my things. What reasons are there to tell her before hand? And how should I go about it?

We're both 19. He's always been this way and I've always found it excessive. He's very controlling and he's constantly overbearing to me. Just a few days ago he called me three times in a row just to remind me to eat dinner, which I am fully capable of doing on my own. Today, I asked my mom to text him asking for a reference's phone number since he was at the gym and he started yelling at her that he needs to call me and that I never want to talk to him. He intrudes in my conversations giving unwanted advice when I'm in the middle of talking and won't let me finish what I was in the middle of saying, which while I appreciate the concern, I also need people to wait their turn in a conversation. He constantly talks down to me in this patronizing tone of voice as though I am a baby. Just yesterday, my sister coughed slightly & he ran into her room & asked if she's okay, & then rattled off cold medicines she could use. Any time my tone is slightly off, he gets extremely insulted & starts yelling at me & slamming doors in frustration when I get irritated at his cloyingness. He seems to assume it's some sort of personal affront that I resist his smothering, but I'm just a very independent person and his attempts at bonding just seem forced and clingy to me. I don't need people to constantly hover around me to know that they love me, I need a lot of independence. It's not personally aimed at him, but he always assumes it is. Can an 18 year old share a room with a 12 year old if they're the same sex? My girlfriend is moving with her family soon and soon she will turn 18. She has 3 siblings, 2 brothers and 1 sister. Her brother wants his own room but the house they're moving into only has 4 bedrooms so one of the sexes has to share a room. Her other brother is 14, do any of you feel that she should have her own room and not have to share with her 12 year old sister and have the brothers who are only 2 years different in age share a room? I know it's illegal for two siblings to share a room of the opposite sex but what about an adult and kid?

My two sisters and I have been living with my mom and Step dad for 10 years. Since I was four. I'm 14. My step dad has 3 kids, two sons and a daughter. They sadly don't live a good life, the mother is very verbally abusive towards them and uses the child support money on herself instead of the kids. About a year ago the oldest son was kicked out at age 17 and began living with his grandparents. Recently the youngest child, a boy 12 decided to ask his mom's boyfriend to leave the house with his bags packed to come live with us. My youngest step brother was dropped off our house. He's been living with us for 3 months. He doesn't have his own room and has been sleeping in the living room. It was very odd having a boy living with us. He's very weird too. We only have one TV and he basically hogs it all day. When asked to do a chore he attempts to do it but ends up not doing it right and gets annoyed. My step dad has been trying to get full custody on all three kids for a while and said by summer this year we will have all three kids living in our house. Its going to be very hectic 8 people living in a 4 bedroom house. My mom said we will end up moving to a differnt home, and I would have to leave my school and friends to live in the other side of town. I don't want to do that, change is very hard for me and the idea of moving different homes and schools and then having 3 people that I hardly know live in our home is crazy. Please give me advice.

I've been sworn at, yelled at, hit at, kicked at, etc. my whole life. I've always thought that it was a normal thing because "discipline" is legal and culturally accepted here(not US). I just assumed everyone lived like this. But guess not. Sorry this is so long but please tell me... There is barely a day I go without crying. I cry at least once a week, and only because of family reasons. Though school life and other things are stressful and all, they seem like nothing compared to how stressed I feel at home. My parents(especially my mom) grab and tug my hair, hit me(all over my body) with their hands and various objects(clothes hanger, duster, vacuum cleaner, books, anything she can find), throw things at me(water bottles, clothes hangers, books, textbooks, anything they can find), kick me, etc. This happens with my mom every time I get in "serious" trouble(caused by whenever I want to be a little independent, like choosing courses I want to take at school), which is almost every day. But sometimes, when my dad gets home, my mom tells him(always exaggerated and only her side of the story) what happened and he gets up and runs to my room, threatening to hit me. Usually, he only gets as far as yelling, swearing, and throwing things because my mom's worried that the neighbors will complain but sometimes he hits/kicks me, and it's way scarier and hurts more than when my mom does it. I have really tan skin so wounds, esp bruises, don't show but nowadays I'm noticing big bruises(though u have to look closely), cuts on my hands, arms, legs, whip-marks(caused by the clotheshangers) on my chest,stomach,all over. I've only gotten nosebleeds like 5 times in my whole life and one was caused by my dad punching me in the face. I feel emotionally abused as well, with my parents telling me i'm a dirty fat pig(average, size small), saying i don't try at school (though i rank top 5 at my school), saying I'm worthless and that they wish they'd never have me, saying that i'm their worst punishment, etc. I've never done anything illegal nor immoral and am always top at school, but being asian parents, i guess i'll never be enough for them. The worst part is that they act so normal and nice afterwards. and i'm just so glad it's over that i don't care that they say that they'll "forgive" me. And they do spend a lot of money on my education and care about me

I have always been blamed, bossed and scolded for EVERYTHING around the home as a child, teenager and a young adult (age 23) when my dad doesn't do this to my other siblings when one of them is the violent and oldest one of the family. But now this father of mine has gone to new extremes where he has aggressively tried to force my identity to hyper-masculinity ever since my macho violent brother and teen siblings were taken to a program that makes males more metrosexual with hairstyle ideas and being informed of a secret forum for the latest trends and events (I only missed out because I was working), and now parents wanted a macho child and the only way to do that was to blacklist me and force hyper-masculinity in me by giving me severe mental problems through bullying since my eldest brother will no longer be that. Parents and my eldest brother also took unfair advantage when some people blacklisted me and tried to verify if these lies are true. This is also one of the main reasons why I self-defamed myself as a violent person who assaulted both parents and siblings, being in trouble with the police (that's what my eldest brother does) and being a registered sex offender - there's no way to vent out my frustrations since I'm non-violent. I have to vent it out in some way after holding his treatment towards me for months. It's very frustrating, especially when I now have enemies who will blacklist me around the globe after believing in these lies I said about me.

I m 16, and I m 5 6. I m taller than both my mom and my dad. My mom s side of the family (her brothers, father) we re heights like 5 9-5 10, but my dad s side has always had shorties that are my height or less. He did say that my grandmother (on his side) told him her brothers were heights like 6 1-6 3 and that I might take after him. I ve been looking this up a lot and all anyone says is "You grow until you re 18-21." or "It s genetic, no way to tell." Those answers just don t satisfy me enough. After shouting at him, mum grabbed his wrist, dragged him outside, put him in the car and we all went back home. Our parents are still livid with him. They are so livid with him, they grounded him for TWO MONTHS. Did my brother deserve to be grounded? He's 15 by the way.

Lol I have big family and all I got was a lowsy card, we're not even poor. My sister got a 1000 necklace for her birthday and she has a job. All I wanted was a couple hundred dollars to go out... I m almost 13 and I cry about everyday. I m not sure if im just over reacting or not but my parents are horrible to me.They have been hitting/ slapping me since I was about 6 and it s only gotten worse. They make me cry and feel so unhappy everyday and I honestly don t know why because I have never done anything to them. I have tryed to get away and do something to make me happy again but my parents WILL NOT let me do anything or go anywhere. My parents have said things to me that will stay with me forever. My dad calls me fat and tells me to stop eating. My mom has told me things like "you only deserve to live on the streets" and " I have fallied as a mother with a horrible kid like you". They also never help me when I m feeling down. Once I came home and was crying because I was getting bullied, but my mom hit me and told me " serves you right ". I am aware I don t have it ANYWHERE near to as some people do but as I result I have been feeling unbearably depressed.I have thought about suicide much too often and some days am unable to get out of bed. It has gotten to the point where my mom has kept me home from school to hit me and yell at me. And I have stopped sports or hanging out with friends because I m crying too much and I don t want them to be worried about me. I tryed to look toward God for guidence but my parents tell me " God won t love a kid like you" and they refuse to take me to church or allow me to at all.

I got in a fight at school with a kid from my class, he is always talking sh*t about me. I got mad and told him that he needed to stop, he pushed me and I punched him in his face. My teacher got mad and kicked me out off his class. I went back to him after class and asked him why the other guy wasnt kicked out. He ended up calling my parents, he said that i was disrespectful and talking back. My mom and i talked about it in a normal way, but my dad is the problem. He is very aggressive and gets really mad when something like this happens, the last time that this happend he got really mad and hit me. He told me that the next time would be a lot worse than that. I dont know what to do now, he will literally beat me up when he gets home. What should i do?? I know that i am in the wrong here and i know that i deserve a punishment, i just don't want to get beaten up.

I went to the hospital yesterday and almost everybody knew including my mother. Which I assumed she told him but unfortunately he didn't. So he got mad because he always finds things out last minute. He said that he called me multiple times but what did he want me to do if there was no service?! So I came home and he comes in my room and bitches about how I never tell him anything and says that I mess up alot and how one day he's gonna have to hit me so can learn a lesson. He keeps repeating "i'm not gonna hit you yet".

I know that this sounds like whinny teenage girl, but he is getting on my nerves. No matter what, he always finds something to get on my case about. I get good grades like he asks, but apparently that's not enough. I have to be perfect in his eyes. Its like all of a sudden, he is trying to "fix" me. I feel like since all his other kids turned out to be "jobless losers" (his words). He wants me to be his pride and joy. He is yelling at me for everything I do. He yells at me for not eating a lot, eating too little, being 'too' skinny, being shy (which I'm not), and even not having a loud voice like him. I love my Dad, I really do. But he is starting to become too annoying.

I am 19 and have given my dad a lots of troubles. I used to be a suicidal and because of that my father was even more depressing. Me and my dad don't have a good relationship. Yesterday he was in a terrible mood like he is alot. So anyways I greeted him and asked if he wanted a soda. He rudely responded with " I dont want you drinking soda" and I could tell he was in a bad mood. Then he started yelling and getting mad and i started to cry because im depressed and he always is mean to my mom and insults her. Then he called me a pussy because I was crying and im not manly enough because I told him he acted like a jerk when I greeted him and then he lied and said he was super nice. Then he called me pussy Does he owe me an apology?

Ok so he was yelling at me so I was texting my mom because he was even touching me, so then he knew I was texting her and he told me to give him the phone so he can see the texts, and then I said no and locked myself in the bathroom. I didn't do it fast enough and he got in. Then he started slapping me and pushing to get the phone. Then I sneak through and run up to my room. Then he pulls something out to unlock the door. Then he took my phone AND laptop away for the whole month, and I am worried he will find out my code, so he will read my texts with my mother. What do I do? I didn't even tell him I was texting her, so nice try. While he was attacking me I got an anxiety attack and even threw up. I'm not kidding

on weekends and in the summer where I don t wake up earlier than them for school (6:00am), my parents can t seem to have the ability to allow me to sleep no later than when they wake up around 7-8. I simply want a bit of sleep, till 9:00 at least for two days of the week!, but when they wake up, my dad blasts criminal minds on the tv, he takes a shower in the bathroom in my bathroom!!(says it s "better"), my mom comes into my room and always,puts my blanket around me thinking I m cold (which I am appreciative of but I have told her innumerable times it wakes me up and I d like her to stop). and them breakfast begins.. whenever I get up earlier than my parents I never, NEVER make noise by taking out plates or opening the fridge etc, but my parents will with no don t start clanking and clonking all the way through my closed bedroom door. and it s not like I don t help around the house for them to do it from spite. I do chores every weekend and weekday based on whatever my mom wants me to do. I ve tried countless times to make it clear(politely btw I don t want to make them mor angry or aggressive) but they seem to literally have the incability to do it so, it s very frustrating for me to just want to sleep on weekends as someone who has worked all week to get good grades and make you proud. I don t know how else to have them stop doing this, I appreciate my parents and love them dearly and we hardl ever argue(except for this kinda) but it s become ridiculous.

My stepbrother came into the picture when I was 4 and I have never forgiven my mom for having a second kid. I long for the peace and relaxation when it was just me, mom, and dad. I remember longing for a dog, cat or some other pet. My stepbrother made everything crowded in the house and stressed me out so badly. I know this sounds negative and hateful but I loooong to be an only kid I have a nephew (my cousin's kid) who complains about being an only child and I wish I could tell him how lucky he is. I think he's weird and that most kids would jump if they could be an only kid. No stress, no fights, no one intruding in your personal space, alone time when you need it and your parents are mine all mine. And everyone knows that only kids get showered with sweet and surprises and presents every day! I feel like I was meant to be an only child or have a little sister, but everyone who has seen Frozen knows how special sisterhood is. Until I saw that movie I really just wanted to be an only kid. I always resented my family for having a second kid and always longed to be an only child. Are there people that actually like their families? And want siblings? When my stepbrother was born I immdediately felt like my space had been invaded. I felt like there was an intruder and stressed out because I needed my space so badly. Every time he raids the fridge, helps himself to a snack or turns on the TV I want to explode. I am so sick of this. There is no filial love in my family, just hate. I am one of those people that deeply NEEDS personal space and alone time. When I had my parents all to myself I felt loved but now everything is so stressed. I have an extremely introverted personality. Just the energy of other people around drains my emotional battery. I get no home alone time and I'm about to lsoe it. every time his stinky feet come in the door, my heart snks.

Home, love, family... I have been starved for those things for so long and it's breaking my heart. I feel so alone and unloved that sometimes I want to commit suicide. I long to have a kind loving family and I feel so out of place. I live with my mom and stepbrother. My dad lives far away and never wants to see me. I hate being an only daughter, and long for the love and support I never get here. My stepbrother is 30 years old and entitled. He lives at home, loafs, makes filthy messes and monopolizes entire rooms into his personal lounge and I have no right to be there (the living room, kitchen, etc.) and is abusive to me. He justified the abuse by saying if I don't like it, I can move out. I work full time, contribute financially (I give my mom money), and I have severe emotional problems (I have OCD, PTSD and severe anxiety and depression and a couple years ago I attempted suicide). He doesn't seem to be in a hurry to get a job or move out. When he drops sh*t all over the place and makes noise late at night I just want to explode. My family expects me to keep it all bottled up. I've tried discussing my feelings with my mom but she just yells at me that she's stressed out and then I feel overcome with guilt. I feel guilty about asking my mom for help and I hurt myself so much with this, it's toxic. Home, love, family... I once had all those things and I never will again. I keep longing for a supportive family. My stepbrother's entitled brat attitude makes me sick. I have no rights, and if I am upset with his abuse, I am expected to bottle it up and I am an intolerant b*tch for expecting better. I clarify that I am not asking for solutions, unless you can have a really good one. Moving out won't solve anything. We moved to this state when I was 14 and I really hate it here and don't want to pay all my hard earned money to live in a state I hate (homesick Florida girl here). I actually lived on my own in another country (I was an English teacher in Spain) and I came back "home" because I thought my "family" needed me. I gave up a life I loved and I regret it so much. I don't want to get a boring apartment and have an ordinary American life. I thought I was coming home to a supportive family and I expected joy, but imagine my disappointment when I came home to this hate house. More than hating my family I have feelings beyond that. I feel out of place, like I'm meant to have been born into another family. I know this all sounds negative and hateful, but I want a little sister soooo bad. I hate being the only daughter and I keep having this longing for a little sister to cherish, protect, give a hug to and be a role model for. I feel like I'm not meant to be the only one.

First thing in the morning im still in bed my husband wakes up to make my daughter an egg for breakfast. She sees me wake up and start walking to the kitchen and immedietly she goes and runs fast towards my husband and hides around his legs shes four and she wont even say hi or nothing she acts so scared. Then once he goes to work, she tries to get my attention she walks over to me smiles and says hi mommy. But its nervewerking because she does that around strangers and in public places, then when i am walking over to get her hand she walks away from me. Expecting me to chase her. I dont know why she acts so scared of me and then once that other person leaves shes wants to around me....

I was just talking to my mum about past events in our lives. She said: "Why not talk to your sister about all this?" I then said: "She never wants to talk... I always end up just talking to strangers on the internet" Mum said: "Then that's your problem" OK, first, I didn't mean it was a bad thing I was talking to strangers on the internet. I go online because I want to and I enjoy it. I didn't elaborate properly and explain that I had been targeted by strange men online.
