Anytime I say anything the response is always "Shut Up" especially from my mother she tells me to Shut Up so much I don't really like talking at all around her. She doesn't do this to any of my other siblings. Also my siblings tell me to "Shut Up" very frequent too. Could it just be every time it speak I say something stupid? Or They Hate Me? Also I need to know how not take it so harshly. When they tell me to shut up I often say nothing back and just don't speak to anyone. |

Now I have torn through my room and I cannot find it anywhere. It is a $600 David Yurman my dad got for me for my birthday last year. I know it would break his heard if he knew I lost it. I found the same ring on Ebay for $300. This isn't an issue, the only problem is that my mother has access and regularly checks my bank account.. if she see's $300 missing she will surely be suspicious. |

She's very controlling and I want to try and make her understand that I'm an adult now. I turn 20 in a few months and have been living at my college for the past year. Now it's summer vacation so I'm at home. I have a boyfriend whom I've been seeing for about 7 months now. He's in the military and lives about an hour away. We try to see each other every weekend. He recently lost his car in an accident so I've been driving over to see him every weekend. Now, my mother does not like me driving long distances (even though she'll let my brother's, ages 21 and 24, drive to different states). He's trying to get another car, but he can't afford one yet. So now she's saying that I can't see him until he gets one and neither of us know how long that's going to be. I don't want her to get in the way of my relationships. I don't want to have to get permission in order to see my significant other. I feel so restricted around her. She made everyone in my family get a tracking device on their phones. I made her promise she wouldn't use it to spy on me, but it's all she ever does. One time, I was in the next city over from my college, shopping at a store. Then I see I have a text from my mother asking me where I was going. She has really crossed a line with me. I need advice on how to confront her and to let me have more freedom since I am an adult now. I've grown so tired of her hovering over me. |
| Posted: 30 Apr 2015 12:50 PM PDT I'm a 16 year old Asian girl. I'm a cheerleader and usually very happy and cheerful. But today it hit me..I am a fu*king failure. I went to take my drivers test for the third time. Again I failed...idk why, I keep failing for minor reason. On the car ride home my Asian dad was yelling at me for all the things I've failed in life. 1.) grades- as a Chinese girl I'm expected to have all As, but I don't my GPA last year was a 3.5 and this year it's a 3.7, my parents think I can't get into a UC school with those grades. 2.) cheerleading- I am a cheerleader but I'm not a very good one. I started late and I don't have much tumbling or any experience so I'm not the best and it makes me feel bad. I tried to take tumbling classes but they don't help me. 3.) SAT- my psat scores were sooo bad, I tried to do the practice book and everything but it never helps me. 4.) piano- I was never able to sight read and bc of that my skills weren't the best. I won state once but this year I quit. School was too stressful and I couldn't sight read which made everything worse. 5.) failed my drivers test for the third time. My parents think I'm the biggest failure ever and they always ask what they did wrong. Please help idk what to do anymore. |

I've been with him for some months. I think he's very sweet and kind but he's also very shy (it was me who asked him out), and I know there are things that he doesn't want to talk about, like his family. I also notice some scars on his wrists but I haven't asked anything since he hasn't confide in me (yet). I suppose he will someday, when he feels more comfortable with me. He does say that he had a hard time with his step dad when he was still living at home (his biological dad isn't around in his life). My family wants to meet him and finally I brought him home for my mom's birthday last week. My elder brothers warmed toward him very quickly but my dad, who is old-fashioned, is highly critical. Already my bf is always agitated among new people and I almost detest my dad for pressuring him like that. He asked a lot about my bf's family (because he thinks family background is important), and asked about his scars, and finally my bf just burst out sobbing and it was all d*mned awkward. My brothers helped lighten up the situation and they were very nice to him, but I feel pained. My b/f is still very uncomfortable and I can't imagine him wanting to visit my family in the near future. My dad said there's something wrong with my bf, but I think my bf has some traumatic experience in the past and he needs time to confide in me. What should I do with my dad??? |
| Posted: 30 Apr 2015 12:14 PM PDT The biological father of my two smallest kids (2 and 4 months) has just revealed to me that the reason for his "all of a sudden" random visits, besides his usual Monday/Wednesday visits, are because he wants our kids to feel comfortable with him so he can travel (internationally) home with them during the month of December. He tells me that there is a reason behind every decision he makes... We dated for the last 5 years and a year after my daughter was born, his ex-wife decided she wanted to buy a home (for their 3 kids), so he decided to let them move in with him, so she could save money to buy that house. What he explained would only be 6 months, turned out to be 15 months, and he pleaded with me to be understanding and that this decision was really for his kids, so that they could have a home of their own. Although I could not understand it, he went through with it. Obviously I stood beside his side, but not without annoying him with all my insecurities every other day - this limited his time he spent with me, especially my daughter. In the end, we had another child, born a month before she moved out into her new home. We broke up, and four months later, they are finally settled into their new home. Now he wants to spend time with our kids. I feel confused and unsure as to how this will affect my children's well being in the long run - what's going to happen after his trip, is he going to move on to another agenda and leave them again? Should a father with specific intentions be allowed to see his kids aside from his regular days he picked for himself - to any day he wants to? |
| Question: Why does my mum hate me? Posted: 30 Apr 2015 12:05 PM PDT Somebody broke my Rubiks Cube. Nobody will tell me who. I asked her for a new one and she said "How much money have you got?" I told her none and she said that I can't get one then. I said that somebody broke it and I can't afford a new one and she shouted at me. When I started to cry (she shouts at me every day and it gets too much sometimes) she said that if I dare have a 'tantrum' that disturbs the neighbours then she will pesonally throw me out the house. I said I was sorry and she shouted at me for "starting". She does this all the time. She hates me. She shouts at me for eating when I can't even afford anything she doesn't give me. I hear her sometimes telling her friends how I'm fat and she says it's my fault. I'm the youngest of five and I know I wasn't supposed to be born. I know she might not be able to afford a Rubik's cube but maybe she should stop buying things for my brother. I asked her how I could make money and she asked me what for and then screamed at me for being greedy when I told her she makes me buy everything. I cry myself to sleep if I ever get any and I can't tell her and I'm only 13 so I can't get a job - she wouldn't even let me dare. I try so hard to be the best at school and I'm doing really well but she doesn't care because she hates me and my brother but loves my sisters and mostly my other brother. His name is on the birth certificate but we are not married. every year he would get worst and one day (2 weeks ago) I couldn't take it anymore so I picked up and moved with my parents 50 miles away. I got a job here and my daughter will start pre pre-kinder soon. He calls me non stop and texts me every night. He calls me drunk and sais he's going to take her away from me. We even came up with a schedule that I had him sign but he won't abide by it now. I want it to be fair and share custody with him but right now I'm scared if I take her he won't return her. I went to see a lawyer that charged me $50 to basically tell me that I can leave him but that I have to leave her there. Before you say anything about the fact that we both still live with our parents let me just say we both work and willl live on our own in a few months. My own living situation is screwed up and I'm gonna move into my boyfriends with his parents. His mother was dead set against it but his father said it's ok and that I can come live there anyway without letting his mom know. I've always spent the night there so she may not realize it at first but in time I know she will figure it out. She's always seemed weird about me. Like she doesn't hate me but doesn't exactly like me either. In the past she has blamed me for random things and would get onto me even though I am nothing but kind to everyone and never do any of the things she says I do. It's stuff like noises at night, food going missing, the water bill, anything. Hell one time one of their cats got outseide and of all the people living there the blame landed on me! I"m kind of sensitive and she scares me too much for me to want to fight back. My boyfriend always comes to save me all the time and defends me. I know that when she figures out that I'm living in her house she is gonna be screaming her head off. There was one other time she was yelling and screaming at my boyfriend for keeping me here too long when I was visiting. The reason was because the roads were covered in ice and snow so it wasn't even our fault. It had me so shaken I had to go outside because I was crying and having a panic attack.. |

Her father and I are moving states and have been granted custody when we do. The issue is, her mother eats terribly, so consequentially, she does too. I mean, soda, nachos, fast food, burgers, mac n' cheese, ramen, ice cream / candy, processed foods every. single. meal. And it's an even bigger problem (in my opinion) that her mother has a high metabolism and a very small frame (maybe 115lbs?). My step daughter is the spitting image of her father, who does not encompass those qualities. Her father and I try to provide her decent healthy food / median, but she pouts to herself and eats around it (i.e. I gave her an egg, cheese, and avocado breakfast burrito, and she ate around the avocado.) She refuses to try any new food, and wants nothing to do with anything unprocessed! Do any parents out there have advice for me???!! (aside from calling her mother and changing her diet as well). |

She has suffered of a debilitating chronic condition for more than thirty years, and during the last 12 years, she has been housebound. She can rarely go out, and when she does she is never alone, and only goes out for an hour or less. She can't overdo it and avoids crowded and loud places. The only places she really goes to are grocery stores. She doesn't have many family members. They visit her once a week but only stay a very, very, short time and do not really understand her condition nor do they give her the attention she needs. In past couple of years, other health problems started taking toll since as she is closer to becoming a senior citizen. Anyway, its been a few years since she started to feel depressed. She has none or very little contact with the outside world, very few family members, no friends, and difficult symptoms to deal with on daily. Except recently her feelings started to get a lot worse. She keeps talking about how death would be mercy for her; that she can't take it anymore. She argues incessantly. She is super negative all the time. ALL THE TIME. And because I'm the one who happens to be with her most of the time, that negativity comes out at me. I let her yell at me even though I know I've done nothing wrong, only because I know that I'm the only person she talks to all day, and she has all this anger inside. What can I do to help her? I try to be positive but she knocks me down all the time. |

He has ridiculous curfews, his parents control his life in every single aspect. They have to know at all times where he is and what he is doing. It has really gotten out of control. Not to mention the fact he has to share his bedroom with his older brother who is bipolar and suffers from PTSD who loses his temper and chews him out all the time, even though resorts to threatening to kill him or makes promises to do so.. It frightens and worries me so much.. My boyfriend has great paying job, but the problem is? His manager is his stepmother, and she also is main signer on his truck. He wants out as bad as I want him out, but every time he stands up to his parents, they yell and scream at him until he's torn down to nothing and in tears. I was fine with that until recently we had to move, and I asked for help and one of my sister-in-law told me to hire movers. I was shocked!. My SO just put in floors for them! They say karma's a b....so just recently, we came into a high six figures inheritance and now the same SIL is asking for loan. I told her to go the bank. Everything i ask for is like no but when my brother ask you always say yes. Like i need freedom without my brother because im bouta go to highschool and stuff. And when i ask my brother he would always boss me around and wont let me go anywhere. I ******* hate my life. I self harmed once because of them . Like why do they fudging do that? I know it was my mother because I asked her if she had used my ipad and she said yes, but just to watch some of my pics. She lied. It was her she technically confessed, cause none of my siblings use my ipad and my dad wasn't even home at that time. I'm so disgusted, I can never look at her in the same way again, I don't even wanna come near her again. I feel ashamed of calling er my mom. It's the kind of porn he watches that is disturbing. I was very upset about what the tags said. One was 'mother takes sons innocence' and the one that was most disturbing was 'sister walks in on Mother and Brother' I wouldn't be as upset if the circumstances were different but he is super close with his family. Has two brothers (ages 22 & 14) and a Sister (age 15)... Mind you I look nothing like these two women in his life. So my parents are moving back to Arizona after I graduate. We are currently in North Carolina but I don't know wheather or not to move back when them. My mom is saying I'm going to struggle and she's not going to pay for my car insurance or phone bill and is pretty much saying if I stay here don't call her for help, pretty much in my eyes disowning me. She says my car insurance is $600 which I don't know how true that is but if it is, how am I gonna ditch out $600 on a 100 a week paycheck, I definitely am gonna have to find another job but still. I feel that she is forcing me to move back. I'm 18 and I feel like I should have a say in my life, nobody said it would be easy but I'm willing to make it work. I want to say here due to everything and everyone I know, I have a girlfriend and things are pretty serious. As far as education I plan on attending a community college for 2 years then transferring, my gf has the chance to go to a university but she said she will go to the community college with me then transfer as well. As far as living, my friends and I were talking about getting an apartment. If that doesn't work one of my friends said I could say with him. And even my gf said her mom said I could stay with them. He's a very big instigator and does little things to tick of my sister and I. One day I was laying in my bed my bed is next to the kitchen he kept walking by looking in my room on purpose and I yelled you need to stop looking in here, he went off called me a ***** and a tramp so I got up to confront him and he kept calling me names so I pushed him then he attacked me and I attacked backed my sister had jumped in to stop but I was so angry and kept attacking him I finally stop and walked away but he continued to talk mess and brought my boyfriend into it that made me go off and I attacked him again he's a very good at provoking people, he provokes so i can attack and I fall for it everytime. It seems like they just are saying that just because they want me to have to transfer schools. But they already know why my school year this year was bad. And I know next school year will be better. But they're not cooperating. Now my mom said that my dad will just decide what he wants to do and then we'll either have to move or not. I have a good friend in my neighborhood though that I had plans with over the summer and I can't do any of that if I'm far away from him. They're just unreasonable. Can't they wait for 2 more years, then I'll be done with high school, and I'll go to college and they can move. Then my dad will be working for 15 more years after that and he can enjoy not having to drive as much then. Can't he just wait for 2 more years? I really don't want to move, I'll start crying or something and my dad isn't a really good person and he doesn't have much morals so I don't want to sacrifice things for him |

He was punched in the face three times leaving a mark on the inside of his lip from the tooth digging into it (it's big and blistery and swelling) His dad has also kneed him in the groin and smacked him out of his chair. I want to call CPS because he (being 16 years old) is unsafe in this house with his hostile father. He could also be hitting his younger siblings (6 and 12) and also has threatened to fist fight his older sister. I'm sure he's hit his wife too. All his mom ever said was "don't go to the police or they'll get sent elsewhere!". She's afraid of her husband. If CPS was called and they were both arrested, they'd all be sent to California with people who don't even like his family (because of his dad). His dad has been suggested therapy and such but he won't have it. He sits around all day and smokes and tries to offer his son cogarettes but my boyfriend doesn't accept them. He's now being homeschooled, making it possible for him to be hit any time of the day. (Be aware his mom barely works and his dad HAS a job and its graveyard shift yet for some reason he's always home. He hasn't gone to work once...) What do I do? |

So my parents are moving back to Arizona after I graduate. We are currently in North Carolina but I don't know wheather or not to move back when them. My mom is saying I'm going to struggle and she's not going to pay for my car insurance or phone bill and is pretty much saying if I stay here don't call her for help, pretty much in my eyes disowning me. She says my car insurance is $600 which I don't know how true that is but if it is, how am I gonna ditch out $600 on a 100 a week paycheck, I definitely am gonna have to find another job but still. I feel that she is forcing me to move back. I'm 18 and I feel like I should have a say in my life, nobody said it would be easy but I'm willing to make it work. I want to say here due to everything and everyone I know, I have a girlfriend and things are pretty serious. As far as education I plan on attending a community college for 2 years then transferring, my gf has the chance to go to a university but she said she will go to the community college with me then transfer as well. As far as living, my friends and I were talking about getting an apartment. If that doesn't work one of my friends said I could say with him. And even my gf said her mom said I could stay with them. I'm just not interested in moving to Arizona. What should I do |

First because I think religion is dumb. it contradicts itself, it's oppressive, and don't want to go to their baptist hand raising Jesus fest. Second because I'm a lesbian. I've heard my parents talking about therapy for me and I'm really scared that they're going to try and lock me up in a nuthouse. Thirdly because I'm 15 and my girlfriend is 19. Maybe in principle that's weird but you don't know her or me for that matter. I know it would be illegal but we have a plan to run away together. My parents are just such hateful people and I feel like they're never going to to accept me. My little sister tried to stick up for me once while they yelling at me and my dad yelled at her till she cried. I don't feel safe anymore unless I'm with my girlfriend. Posted: 30 Apr 2015 06:51 AM PDT My daughter in high school was going into one of her classes when a girl in front of her tripped and fell. The girl hit her head on a chair and it made a big cut in her head before she fell to the floor. Her head was bleeding badly so my daughter took off her sweater and wrapped it around the girl's head to stop the bleeding and then immediately called 911. The paramedics got there very fast and took the girl to the hospital where they sewed up the large cut, kept her in the hospital for one day and sent the girl home. The hospital told the girl that my daughter had saved her life by stopping the bleeding. The girl's parents were very grateful for what my daughter had done and sent her a $100 check to cover the loss of her sweater. You can imagine how shocked we were when the school wanted to punish our daughter for what she had done. It seems that the school has a zero tolerance for breaking the rules by using a cell phone in class. We told the girls parents the school wanted to punish our daughter for what she did and they are outraged. They want to sue the school board so if something like this ever happens again, the students will not be afraid to do the right thing and help someone in need. Please give me your advice on what we should do if anything about the school wanting to punish our daughter for what she did? |

I'm currently studying at a campus which is situated around 100 miles from where I live. I don't miss my friends too much but it is incredibly difficult to be away from my family and most of all my daughter. I'm still only 22 but I've been a dad since I was 17/18 - the mother of my child is a much older Asian woman. Access to my daughter has been difficult enough at the best of times and often I feel she is trying to buy me off. I'm worried her partner (businessman) will try and fill my void... I've never had a father figure in my life so I know how it feels. My mum and sisters have been my family. My girlfriend split up with me last month, I haven't made too many friends at the campus, and overall I've lost a lot of happiness. It feels like most people are only out for themselves and will walk all over you to achieve their goals. I only sports, partying, earning good money etc but none of it has the same buzz or meaning as before. I've never felt as low as I do now and I'm scared that things could become worse over time. |

| Question: HELP!! I'm a woman and my mother in law kissed me?!?!? Posted: 30 Apr 2015 05:35 AM PDT Before anyone gets too excited, there was nothing sexual about the kiss, it just made me highly uncomfortable. Me and my fiancé visited his parents over the summer and when the time came to drop us off at the airport and say our goodbyes is when it happened. I hugged his dad and he hugged his dad. He hugged his mom and she kissed him on the cheek and said I love you with tears in her eyes. Then she turns to me and hugs me, pulls back and smiles at me, then bam...lays one right on me in front of his dad and himself! My fiancé made a weird joke like "wow ok that was weird" I honestly didn't know what to say, I was so shocked and surprised that I just stood there. The other day while my parents were at work, I decided to meet up with this guy that I met a few weeks ago to go for a walk in my neighborhood. Everything was truly innocent. We were just walking and catching up. As we were walking, my friends dad drove around the corner and saw us together. He waved at us and continued to drive, so I didn't think anything of it. So yesterday while I was at school, my dad texted me and asked me who was I with in the neighborhood, and I told him that I was with a friend that he's never met. My friends dad called him and told him that I was with a guy in the neighborhood the other day, and now my dad is super pissed off at me. He won't talk to me or even look at me. My mom told me that she doesn't trust me anymore and that I should've asked permission to walk with this guy. I have to ask permission to do everything. I'm 18 years old by the way. Now there is tension between all of us and idk what to do. I don't feel like I've done anything wrong. I've never gave my parents any reason not to trust me. Am I wrong in this situation? Help |

And I also have a very rational father on the complete opposite side of the spectrum. So we run into this issue where me (and my three other siblings) argue about how my mother would constantly "micro-manage" everything, and my dad (being very rationally) generally takes our side, and he is then in a balancing act between my mother and his children. Me and my other sibling just turned adults, the others are teens. What are your thoughts? |

| Posted: 30 Apr 2015 03:53 AM PDT My problem is that my father is an extreme pessimist and never let's me do things which are enjoyable and things which other parents allow to their children to do For example he always tells me that if I want to live happily then I should never ever call even a single friend home even by mistake because if he saw my home then he may try to do things like capturing my home by any illegal means,may try to kidnap or rape the females of our home. He thinks it because he reads news paper and there he finds such articles. Another example is that he never allows me to play in my house because he thinks that the floor on which I am playing may collapse because many things like table , bed, fridge etc are kept on it and it is already lifting much load. The third example is that he never allows my sister to call her friends home or visit their home because he thinks that her friends if called home may try to flirt or date or try to have sex with me and if my sisters visit their home then anybody in their house can rape them. Another example is that he never allows my sisters to go to public places because he thinks that they can be sexually harrased, because of this reason he has put them in a girls school. What I want to say is that my father always thinks rubbish and gives bullshit reasons for not doing things and always thinks suspiciously.everybody is fed up of him. I want to ask that is my father psychologically ill?? If yes what should we do for him??? |

I'm 19 by the way. If you don't know what it is, it's a concert festival thing that's held at Wembley Stadium in front of 80,000 people once every year. It's even televised on national TV. Me and my sister have been wanting to go for years, but mum was always like "wait until next year" because we couldn't afford it (tickets are £100 each). The line-up this year includes One Direction, Ariana Grande, Kelly Clarkson, Olly Murs, Flo Rida, Carly Rae Jepsen, Little Mix, Avicii etc. I have enough money to take me and my sister, but mum STILL won't let us go. She said the concert is dangerous and that she forbids us to go there. I replied, "Well I am an adult, and I will be adult supervision." But mum said she doesn't trust me enough to look after my sister. The stadium is only about a mile from our house. Was she right in banning us? Can she do this? I'm taking my sister with me whether she likes it or not, she can't stop us. |

Posted: 30 Apr 2015 12:57 AM PDT I want to transfer to a new school because in my old school I have a pretty bad record considering I was always absent and late, and skipped school a lot due to family and school probs (My teacher who is a nun once caught me skipping school). My old school is very expensive also, it's like the second most expensive private school in my city. Which is why I'm worried that maybe my parents couldn't afford anymore bc my dad lost his job as a seaman but my mom still has hers (She's a business woman) but it's not enough is it? Also they're separated for about two years now. So they always argue on whos going to pay tuition, fees etc. My mom is fed up bc it's always her she tried telling dad to find a job at least to help provide me and my sibs' needs but he still doesn't do anything. All he ever does to get money is borrow from others. He told us to wait for him to have a job outside of the country, but idk when. It's been months. I also want to transfer bc I want a fresh start and that the new school I'm planning to transfer to is where my cousin goes so I won't have a hard time adjusting and make friends bc I know she's there to help me, we're close anyway. I tried to tell my parents that I want to transfer to an okay and affordable school (where my cousin is) when I go to grade 9 but they won't let me!
