I'm a 13 year old girl and people often say I am too childish and that I should act more mature. I do enjoy watching cartoons and sometimes I watch Disney Channel. I'm also girly so I love dresses, skirts and floral patterns and those are what I usually wear. And I have a huge obsession of cute hair accessories such as strawberry hair pins and stuff like that. My mom thinks it's nice that I don't dress like other girls my age(crop tops and shorts and stuff) but the others keep telling me stuff like ''You're 13 stop dressing like you're 7'' I feel like I'm still a child and I shouldn't be acting like a grown-up at the age of 13, but I don't know.. My step-father molested me over 2 years and went to jail when I told a friend who told her parents. I was afraid to tell my mother because my step-father said he would kill himself if I did like my real father had done (birthfather committed suicide when I was 3). At age 15 my step-father was arrested and other crimes surfaced. He went to prison and we plan never to associate with him again. Meanwhile, my mother went into a depression and now abuses prescription drugs and my younger brother (bio son of my mother and step-Dad) blames me. His position is I needed to just say no to my step-Dad instead of running my mouth. My half-brother visits his Dad. So I am 34 now and I still blame myself for all this. My half-brother still has a very cold attitude around me like at holidays everyone gets a gift but me, When he and his girlfriend had a baby everyone was invited to the baptism but me (my mother just had me as her guest). How do I stop blaming myself and is this normal? Is it normal my half-brother blames me? The step-father is now out of jail and my brother has gotten colder since though my mother and I have nothing to do with him (the step-father).

I find extended family extremely important. At Christmas I am the adult relative who still tries to visit aunts and uncles even though the grandparents have died and am the one who hopes to see some of his cousins. I worry for weeks in advance "what if I can't see one half of the family" and worry 24-7 about what if a relative doesn't like me. As a kid my Dad had a real close family where all his cousins knew each other even as adults (1st cousins). My grandfather on my Dad's side had a similarly close family. Meanwhile my mother's family was the opposite. Her mother's (my grandmother)'s side was close but her father's side was not. My mother saw it as black and white (one side is exceptional and wonderful and the other side is evil). Her own immediate family was cut in half between who is in and who is out (this would vary year to year). So we have some real close relatives on her side and some very distant ones we only see at funerals if that. So I have been determined since high school to make sure my memories of family are close. Therefore, I get it in my head I HAVE to be seeing everyone frequently even though my parents don't. I now fear "do my cousin's on my mother's side think less of me because my mother seldom goes around". So is it critical to be close to extended family (cousins, aunts, and uncles) or are most people distant from extended family like my maternal grandfather from his family? My maternal grandfather only knows 2 of his 14 cousins post-childhood. Whereas my paternal grandfather saw all his 1st cousins several times a year.

So my Mom and I went to a party at my aunt's last night and a cousin of my grandfather's was there. He tells very strange stories and we never know if he is just a good story teller or telling the truth, he is strange. We have only met this guy a few times but my aunt knows him because her father-in-law worked with him by coincidence. So he was telling my mother and I that the reason his aunt adopted him (his Dad's sister) was because his Dad was in the military and his mother tried to have him killed as a baby. I asked my mother if she'd ever heard that story and she laughed and said the guy was a nut job. However, I don't think he would make up a story like that as he is a nice guy, just tells strange stories. So how do I know if this story is true? I do not know the man's two sisters other then meeting them once and they had a different mother. The man's suspicious stories are ones that have him being a hero in each story (like him tackling a drug addict before police arrived at age 81). This man was a police detective when younger. He also has family stories from when he was a kid that seem odd for a kid to have known but maybe his aunt that adopted him was just a gossip. So how do I know this?

So this has borhtered me for years, my mom has many times just sat there in her families presence and let them talk bad about her kids. I have seen this and been around it for many years. But the thing that bothers me the most is this one time where her and i and her family were just sitting somewhere. They started to talk about my brother, who is 14 and has autisim. They always talk about him,one this occasion they called him strange and weird. I could not say a word, i just starred at my mother and waited for her to say something.She said nothing, then they went on to talk about me and say i would be pregnant within a year *this was 3 years ago and no i am not and never have been pregnant) and then on and on about more things that were awful. I dont know whether to believe my uncle or not, I dont know if he made this story up to scare me or did he really experienced that. So few days ago I noticed he looked a bit frightened and was quite so I asked him what was wrong then he told me he experienced something few days before. He is a truck driver and when he drove late at night to home he saw a woman on the side road raising her hand so he stopped and she got in. They talked together for some time while he drove, she asked him if he wanted to give her a lift home so he drove her and when they arrived by her house she stepped out and thanked him for the ride and then he drove back home. While driving he noticed she forgot her jacket on the seat but because it was late he decided to bring it back tomorrow. The next day he went to her house, a man and a woman opened the door, he told them that a lady from this house forgot their jacket last night while he brought her home. The woman started to cry, the man said it was our daughter but she is dead for 6 years and that she died in a car accident there. My uncle was shocked and stood there quite and amazed then the pair said to him to follow them which he did, they led him to a cemetery where their daughter is buried, he freaked out when he saw the picture of the lady of last night on the grave stone and they said to him to hang the jacket on her gravestone which he did. I dont know whether he made the story up or not but he keeps swearing that its true and looks serious

I asked a question about this yesterday but it was long and few answered. My Mom was bitter at her Dad (my grandfather) for being an alcoholic. He was nice when sober and grouchy when intoxicated. He was never a physical threat. So as a kid my mother didn't let us see him for a time. She told me he did not love us because he didn't love anyone and that our grandmother did not want a relationship with us. My mom and her mother were at odds as my grandmother felt my mother was wrong to pull away from the family. We missed every Christmas and family event for 7 years. My cousins on the other hadn't our grandparents. So after 7 years things got better but now as an adult I feel I am an "unfaithful family member" and need to earn my right to be loved by her family since they might not think much of us. This is all from things my mother was telling me where she personalized her conflict with her alcoholic father. I am well into adulthood now but still carry this belief I am a 2nd rate relative on my mother's side of the family. Holidays bring up painful memories of feeling a loss as a kid. So how do I change these beliefs? How do I get myself out of believing I am a 2nd rate relative due to my mother's decisions in the 1990's?

He is 29 years old, dropped out of uni for a second time recently and suffers from depression. He is very erudite and a one man pub-quiz team but he doesn't seem to understand that we have a problem with him stockpiling mouldy plates in his room and even bags containing soiled underwear. We found out by going into his room and removing 5 bags of them because the smell in his room permeated the whole flat. Responding at last to criticism he has been doing his laundry and clearing things out his room, sending some book. Today I found, for the second time that he launders his soiled underwear, this time with a tea towel as well as his own clothes. He also stock piles unopened letters, in the past he nearly lost me my flat by not paying the council while I was away - I was paying him and he didn't do anything. On one occasion I returned from contracts away and found 50 blue bottles (large flies) in the kitchen alone. Many people think I should throw him out but he's a nice guy. He doesn't do anything domestic without being badgered to do so, he says he will do it later and then doesn't, ever. He cooks nice meals for people, he is friendly and well mannered. I am going to move away and so is a friend of mine who has filed and emailed me my bills - he kept this house floating, now I'm scared what bills will go unopened and what kind of health hazard. Please advise.

I know I am 25 and can do what I want, but I still live with my parents. They are forcing me to not go over boyfriend apartment since he lives on his own and has no roommates. They think he is going to force me to have sex with him, and that does not happen if he lived at home still since parents are home. 2 things -- (1) I know its BS, so I went to his apartment few times anyways and absolutely nothing happened. Once or twice I just chilled while he had to do something before we left for our date, which was 10 min or so. Then we left. Other times we just chilled and watched an episode on Netflix or first half of movie (we would chill for 1 to 1 1/2 hours). Thats all that literally happened. (2) He doesnt force sex, so he never forced sex on me while I was there. We wouldnt even do oral unless I said we could. So I have no clue what big deal is. I know my mom in her middle 50s and dad in his late 60s, so part of it is how they grew up where you cant go over SO apartment or house unless parents were home (if lived with parents). If they lived on own or on own with roommates, then no definitely. The other half is they get these crazy ideas that something going to happen to me since its just us and no one else (even if he lived with parents and wanted me to come over while parents were out). Plus they think he going to force me to have sex with him. So I have no clue what big deal is. Someone please enlighten me. I know its clearly them mostly, but anything that is slightly that Im missing? Of course nothing going to happen to me. Of course he doesnt force sex and oral unless I tell him we could do it (and its only IF I say we could that he does it). ETC ETC ETC. Of course its them worrying too much, etc etc etc. On side note, they think same thing if I were to go to a friend who is a girl apartment too - that something bad would happen, or something bad would happen since they dont live with parents and automatically think they left just to do what they want and not listen to parents. Of course they are slightly crazy even though they must have good intentions for me.

Ok so I'm used to my mom always yelling at me idk she's just not a happy person. Over all they are nice but are also very very critical. I have other siblings too, but they're not horrible to them. Just me. I turned 18 back in August, I graduate this may class of 17 yay. What can I do to escape this lifestyle without ruining my siblings lives? My teacher said ignore them. But sometimes it gets to the point of throwing my homework and ripping it apart and occasionally throwing something hard at my head. It makes me contemplate life at times even if I know the things said are not true.. I can't move out because of attending college next year & I won't be able to afford it. So, I enjoy to play on my computer on the weekends which really seems to annoy my parents. Let me start of by saying I am 16, I have all A's in school, and I even take college classes (dual enrolment) because I am working towards what I want to do in the future. My parents always say I am lazy and I need to do something productive... They always compare me to my classmates who already have jobs and make their own money, but why should I care? First of all I'm happy they found an interest in working but I'm not ready yet and second of all the kids who are working are all boys. I have no need for my own money just yet, when I'm ready I will get a job. I don't have any friends at school so I don't hang out with anybody on the weekends which is probably why I love playing on my computer and hanging out with my virtual friends. (They're real people and they have a common interest with me, what's wrong with that?) I really don't see what the problem is, I keep up my grades and I even know what I want to do in the future and I'm already working towards that. I told my parents I'll probably get a job during the summer but they're still not satisfied. No matter what I do/accomplish they never seem to regain their faith in me...why?! I cant understand why I am such a huge disappointment to them. When I tell them how I feel they just mock and laugh at me... -Let me add that I do interact with actual people. I take Theatre classes in college and trust me you interact with others a lot. -Also, I got myself into those classes. I know this is old and annoying ranting on about how their sister is such a brat. I am 16 and my sister is 12. Basically if she wants a phone, she needs one. She got her first phone in fourth grade. When I was in fourth grade and asked for a phone, my parents told me they were too expensive and that only losers have phones. If she wants to go into my room, she can. If I tell her to leave she goes crying to my parents and I get yelled at for being rude. If she steals stuff from my room (Laptop, textbooks, phone, clothes), my parent's don't care. If I steal from her, my room gets searched SWAT style by my parents, searching every square nanometer. If she wants to use my desktop or laptop, I have to give it up. If I want to use her laptop, I get called an addict. Part of the fact why I get p*#$@d off at her is because I work my a#s off for everything. My phone: I worked at Wal-Mart at two in the morning stocking shelves. She doesn't even do chores, and her parents spoil her.

long story short. I have asthma, and for like a week and a half I had what I thought was asthma problems everyday with allergies. well I was just coughing in the mornings then it started to come in evenings to so Wednesday I saw my doc for it and he shocked me by saying it was neither of them but rather a sinus infection and bronchitis. so he gave me an antibiotic and steroids and sent me on my way as is usually the case. well Wednesday night I got worse had major sinus issues and some more coughing. did all I could for it here and took all my meds for it. Thursday I got up was coughing so bad could not take it so again took all my meds even rescue meds and it lasted me a few hours then when I went to lay down I could not sleep due to coughing so much and I felt totally miserable, and took inhaler again when it was time and an hour later I was coughing so bad again I wanted to cry. I had gotten so much worse since I saw my doc. all my asthma support group friends r telling me to go the ER as I am worse and I might be getting pneumonia now. well told friend yesterday and she did not want to take me just said wait it out. well I was coughing some last night like an hour after taking meds. wel this morning I told my mom I was sick and of course right away she said she did not hear me be sick. well I asked her to take me to the ER and she said no I did not need to go, then she said they will not do anything for me at all said I was doing pred for it and she said, that is all I needed and that the ER will do nothing else for me since I am already on meds. I am in such bad shape and I really need the ER but my mom refuses to take me as she says they will do nothing for me at all. so needless to say I ran off crying because I was s et that my mom would not take me to the ER like I asked her to. why would my mom would not take me to the ER. she does not get that with asthma If I get sick I am 10x worse then she is when she gets sick. P.S. have my own insurance so it would be no cost to my mom at al lo take me she just refuses to as she never thinks I am as sick as I say I am. and also if my sister called up our mom and said mom I need to go to the ER mom would say ok I will be right over to take you but when I ask to go mom tells me no

Please help. my parents left me home alone for my brothers football game and so i started making breakfast when i remembered that we got all new windows yesterday. i opened one and immediately the alarm went off and so i turned it off. i was cooking and so i didn t have my phone on me and whenever i looked over to check the time on it, i realized i had 20 missed calls from my parents (EXTREMELY STRICT btw) and i answered and i ve never heard my mom scream like that. she said the police were on the way and i burst out sobbing. she drove home from the football game and was still screaming and my dad was yelling as well. they said f*** you and that they hated me. they were so loud and i was so panicky i got dizzy and then they told me that i had to pay the fine for sending the police over here, but i have no money because they made me buy my own furniture. i can t stop crying and no one not even my family loves me please help me my phone is broken and i don t get calls unless it s unlocked and everytime i ask my parents to send it to get fixed, they say i m lying and to pay for it myself but again i have no money. i m already grounded for getting my first B but now they said i m going to be grounded for 6 months. please help me they hate me

A few days ago, my mom caught my younger sister on her phone and she took it away. Then later that afternoon she asked for my phone, and I asked what I did wrong? She told me nothing and she just wanted to take my phone. Yesterday afternoon, my sister told me my mom took away my phone because she was busted on hers and she wanted to make it fair. She said my mom was also scared that I would sneak on my phone. She then said I would get it back in a month and went on a rant saying that I'm irresponsible. is going on?

My parents have always been incredibly strict. I get that they're trying to raise me right and that they're doing what's best for me, but sometimes it gets hugely annoying. They blame me for not having a social life while at the same time they won't let me choose what I do with my life. I'm forced to go to church 10 hours a week (yes, you read that right), I'm forced to take piano lessons, and I have to dance every wednesday (I'm a male). After I get my homework done at 5:00, I relax, go on my phone, and watch tv. My dad comes home at 5:30, and when he sees me doing this, he asks "Have you been doing that all day?". Another example: He didn't let me watch a PG- rated movie because he didn't like the humor. He got mad and told me to turn the tv off. (I'm in high school). I have no agency and I want to do things with my life, but they're forcing me to do **** I don't even like and i'm pretty much done. help?

My sister literally gets spoiled so much. She is eight and has an iPhone and and iPad. She also gets to do whatever she wants. My parents enrolled is in this thing called Kumon, which is an extracurricular thing for Math and Reading, and she never does any of the homework for that and doesn t do well in school either. She gets no punishment aside from a little anger from my parents. Meanwhile, in the 4 years that I have been attending Kumon, I haven t gotten crap for doing all my work aside from being able to spend some points I get from doing the work on some prizes (which take a long time to build up, after 3 years I finally had enough points to buy a 3DS). And even then it is nothing from my parents. If I get a B in school, I ll get grounded for at least two weeks, which is understandable. But my sister just got three B s on her last report card (though she got A s on everything else) and my parents didn t care at all! I m starting to think this is just eating plain unfair. B s are horrible, and being raised in and Asian family, we had to get all taught A s. But I have to put up with this spoiled brat of a sister who doesn t do Cato and gets everything and screams at my parents, while still getting them to buy stuff. Meanwhile, like I ve made obvious, I ve been treated unfairly and get a huge punishment. I want to just yell at them and tell them that they are doing everything wrong, but I m too scared

I am cripple female and have horrible balance. I come from a Pakistani culture were after a "arrange couple" get marry the WIFE becomes a servitude, works all day in the kitchen, and her whole life she will have served this "husband" I am cripple, have horrible balance and I don't want be a servitude, work ALL day in the kitchen, and serve this "husband" of mine my whole life. I fear of getting into a kitchen accident. I been married for 1 month and I can't take it. But NO my parents, my "husband parents" and even my "husband" says to me CULTURE IS CULTURE I must do this duty for life. This "husband" don't WANT help either. He said it my job NOT HIS and I must serve him no matter what my entire life. I WILL get a divorce from this "husband", end contact with my parents/in laws & marry a man who will treat me RIGHT, as well as his parents. But what WILL HAPPEN to my parents, my "husband" parents, and my "husband" if I report them? Living in NY.

My parents won't let me go to church/youth and I really want to go to this one church because I know the youth pastor and he is amazing and everyone from my school goes there. Every time I ask she yells at me. And it's just because she doesn't like the youth pastor even though he has done nothing. And now I asked my friend to call/text my parents to ask if I could go. At Walmart they only Carry her CDs bearly that . / They don't sell her posters shirts in a boy by the way . We are going to Wilmington outlet . I know they sell her fragrance . In when u went they sold her socks last year. But my grandma wouldn't buy it . Cuz I have Small feat in it was for girls at first she thought . In + it was inappropriate. Saturday, there is a party that I have been planning on going to for atleast 2 weeks now. I arranged for a friend to pick me up at my house and for another friend to bring me home when it is over...both of which will be sober and not at the party. I put money into making shirts for this weekend and I am on a team with my friend for a tournament. I also spent money on a raffle ticket. Just last night my mom went to the hospital because of a surgery complication. She had a big surgery about 3 weeks ago. She is fine all of her tests and scans were clear but she's staying there and being monitored for now. The thing is...she is now telling me that I can't go to this thing and I have to stay home tonight, because she will worry about me and doesn't want that to raise her blood pressure. I can't bail on my teammate and leave her with nobody, and I don't really want to lose the money I've put into this weekend, but I also don't want to upset my mom. I'm seriously considering having my friend pick me up anyway and just telling her that I'm home. She won't worry, I'll still get to go...everybody wins. I'll be caught though. I'm sure of it. Am I selfish for wanting to go out while shes in the hospital? I couldn't visit her during the time frame of the party anyway bc they are not open to visitors at those hours. Should I go anyway would it be worth it? lol I literally cannot win in this situation what do I do?

Okay so I recently had a car wreck and I received a mild concussion. MILD. I m not sore any more and I feel perfectly fine now. My mom said I can t go anywhere for 3 weeks which is completely unnecessary. I can t wait that long! My boyfriend I coming home from a long trip this Thursday and I want to see him at the airport! And we made plans at the end of the week to celebrate. I can understand a week but three weeks? She won t change her mind because she said it s my fault for wrecking in the firstborn place. I really cannot continue to sit at home and think about it because I get really depressed and she doesn t care. How can I convince her to let me go out Thursday and Saturday?

Me and my brother live in a shared room. I'm 22 and he's 21. He has a daughter who just turned 1 in July. He smokes weed and I smoke weed too. Well at times there is a scent that is left throughout the house when we come inside from smoking. My dad gives my brother a car to drive to work, and a place to live and pays 250$ a month to live at my parents. Like I do. Well my dad gets really frustrated and starts saying some pretty hurtful things. Instead of kicking him out he says all these hurtful things about my brother some of which aren't even true. He'll say "he doesn't even give a f*ck about his daughter" when I hear this I want to yell at my dads face at the top of my lungs. I have seen what my brother does for his daughter and then to hear this puts me in a rage. I know my brother could do better but why can't my dad just kick him out already instead of saying all this unnecessary sh*t. I plan on moving out soon as I cannot stand this either and there is more to this but want to be alone.
