I don't want to be a Debbie downer but nobody's ever looked @ me like I'm beautiful. I've never been touched, I want someone to live for but I can't find it. My girlfriend is a divorced mother of two young children. I'm divorced with no kids and a couple of years older. We are both college educated although I do not use my degree I am blue collar but make pretty good money and have zero debt paid off house and new car. She is a single mom with a lot of debt. However I don't feel good enough do her. I feel like she will always meet a guy who is better looking and with a better career. Her family is also very large and well to do and has a lot of connections in the community. I'm 15 btw. So, my dad has some anger issues where, though he gets angry rarely, when he does he just keeps going on when we tell him and ask him to stop. Yesterday he was doing it so when he cooled off I brought it up to him in the car and was serious and told him he was an asshole sometimes and reminded him of times he'd made me very upset and he just laughed at me like it was some kind of joke. I remembered he'd laughed at me once more when I'd been serious about something like that before and was hurt/angry. I was silent for the car ride and now its the next day. My parents are divorced and I feel like staying with my mom all the time now. I don't know what to do. I've had crushes before, but this Is different. No matter where I go, my crush Is always there. One day while I was In the cafeteria and I looked to my right, he was the first person that I saw. i started a new job two days ago as a waitress in a fine dining restaurant. the first day i was really really nervous and i just stood on the floor alot because i wasnt sure what ot do and i also didnt want to annoy the other waiters by askign questions because the ywere busy. one of the waitresses said i looked really nervous, and she was right, i was. the second day was muc hbetter, i was more confident, and took some orders, greeted customers and it just went better all round. i sdtill made some mistakes but it wasnt as bad as the first day. plus i was more relexed. after the first evening the mananger was really annoyed at me because i was askign for al ocker to put my uniform in. reasonable i thought, but she said something about me being too scared. so idk, maybe i came across wrong. the second night i atually had a pretty good time when it ws busy, and i forgot ot leave after my shift was finished because i was having a good time. i left about half an hour after my shift, and i bumped into the manager twice when i left so i said bye etc. the third time i saw her was when i forgot ot clock out, and when the assistant manager saw me he awaved bye and whe nthe main manager saw me again she just stood there staring at me. she seemed a bit angry. but i cant really think of what ive done wrong...and im really worried i did really bad or something. she is usually quite friendly with the other staff but with me she doesnt greet me when she sees me but does with others

I don't know what to do with my life anymore. Just starting out high school and grades are failing and with all the family problems I can't take it anymore. Looking online I see people with happy families and to me that's like a dream come true. I've also never been the most social person making me have basically no friends. my friend said she would never allow her kids to join the military because they are too smart for it and no one in her family has ever joined (her father and uncles were all draft dodgers) Her mother said people who join the military are not smart. This rubbed me the wrong way. Is this snooty that they said these things? I can understand not wanting your kids to join because you don't want them to get hurt/killed I get that but to say they are too good for the military and only people who are not smart join seems snooty to me. my friend always talks about people she is friends with or people in her family who are lawyers and doctors. When I started talking about a friend I had who worked for a law firm and some examples of her work she said too me "well thats not what happens" as if she knew more than me and didn't let me finish what i was saying and cut me off before I could finish. There was this certain version of something that I wanted that could do certain things that I liked, but for Christmas my dad got me a lower quality version of it that's slow and doesn't work properly and doesn't offer the things I actually wanted it for, but I still got one nonetheless. I don't know why I'm so upset over this, I've legit cried about it. I literally have one that's still okay, but for some reason it still really bothers me to the point of being really upset over this because I didn't get the one I asked for. I know I shouldn't feel this way, I still got one - but it upset me that my dad still got the other one after I asked for that one. I also can't voice that I'm bothered so much because my parents will get angry that I'm so ungrateful (which is understandable) but it still makes me so upset. Is it right to feel this way? Ok, I'm currently 17 In high school, I'm a god fearing man. I am 6'4 255 pounds, I play football lots of colleges are looking at me and I have 1 scholarship offer so a future is somewhat promised at least in college. I have a nice sense of style, I try to switch up my shoes each day of the week along with my outfits. I wear jewerly like watches, chains and rubberbands. I keep an haircut probably 1-2 weeks apart and sometimes every week. I had a car everysince my the middle of my freshman year. I make good grades I just made a 3.0 on my last report card. I also play basketball during the summer in AAU League. Last year I had my first girlfriend in a relationship that lasted just over a month or two I believe, and another that lasted maybe a week or two. And this year I had a girlfriend, for probably less than a week which was a cheerleader but younger than me. I find myself to be a humble and cool young man that has goals in his life. Although I am a christian, I'm not the perfect person and I blame it on my enviroment which is Louisiana so at times I do make bad decisions. Could someone please tell me what do I need to and why I dont have a girlfriend yet at this stage. I admit, I don't talk as much in school around people I dont know and mostly If I talk to someone they start the conversation and the few times I do start the convo It ends really weird. I have really bad teachers at school. I mean REALLY bad. My parents and the school staff know about this issue and they don't bother fighting for better teachers and education. Not to brag or anything, but I'm good at all subjects except the three sciences because of my teacher's poor teaching and I've kindly asked the staff to replace the teachers and so has the rest of the students in my set asked. I've told my parents about this but the fact that they didn't care didn't surprise me. Anyway, I have exams coming up and don't understand a lot of stuff so I asked my mum for help (once again, she knows about the teacher issue) instead of helping, she shouts at me, calls me dumb and many other names, puts her foot near my face (in my culture, religion and country is COMPLETE rudeness) and many other cultural insults, screams at me for crying, tells me I'm a failure, blames me for everything, I'm even scared to shed a tear because I know she'll beat me up if I cry, she gets close to smacking me in the face, tells me go to read the textbook instead of being a 'dumb***' (I've read it a billion times) I'm used to this abuse and treatment at home from all my family which is why I love school and am good in school because school takes me away from home which represents abuse, but I'm used to that by now. Clearly, what I want to ask is how am I supposed to learn the science stuff before the exam comes up? I don't want to fail! That means more abuse!

My parents have always wanted me to become a doctor and until a while ago, I wanted to be a vet when I was older and did a work experience. Then I had a change of heart and would prefer to be a flight attendant for various reasons. I am fluent in 4 different languages, so that would be helpful too. I love flying, not because travelling, but because I like the "being at the airport and in an aircraft". Sounds kinda weird, huh? My parents have always wanted me to go to university and study medicine and a few months ago, I managed to convince them that veterinary medicine suits me better and that I never really wanted to be a doctor, except when I was little. Now I came to realize that being a FA would also be a possible option for me. So how do I explain that I maybe want to choose a different career path and not go to university? Many people that have a high school degree don't go to university. For a long time, they always say sth like "get good grades, otherwise you can't go to uni" and stuff like that. Its kinda bugging me out. They also always say "The pay of the job is very important, you have to do sth that makes money" What can I do? How can I get rid of their stubborn thoughts? I need to choose my school subjects very soon.

I'm 22 years old student confused because I think my 70 year old something English professor may have a crush on me. I took his course last semester where he would frequently smile and blush if we made eye contact in class, when I entered the room or when I asked him a question after class about the assignments. I do admit that I tried to be a good student (like in all my classes) and I participated in class and laughed a lot since the stories are enjoyable. I always do well on the exams and papers. My professor walked around the room when lecturing and usually stood in front of me or sat in the desk to me to share a book and put his arm around my chair. Once He was so close though that his knee touched my hip (he wouldn't move away). I had to move a bit to the right. Another time, He put a book on my desk and I accidentally brushed my hand on his.... I felt embarrassed but didn't say anything and tried to ignore it and he continued to smile a lot... Another time I went to his office to drop off a paper and he stared at me weirdly... He also fidgeted with his hair when he saw me. Also, At the end of the semester he emailed me saying it was a pleasure to have me in class This semester he approached me in the hallway and said I was his favorite student and that I was fantastic in his class. The other day we greeted each other and as he was leaving he patted my shoulder. Do you think he has a crush on me? I just would like some advice on how to approach the situation.
