Every holiday and her birthday, we would always send presents for the holidays and even her birthday.Whenever we would send presents, the mother would say it's alot of money, don't pend on your money on her, but i said to her, i want to spend money on her to be happy. If i don't send her presents, she would so sad, and our friendship would be ruined. What do i do? not send her gifts or keep sending her gifts? Can i still be friends with her? i want to still be friends with her. They're like another family to me. And this little girl who is my friend has autism and Asperger's. The little girl is 11, and i'm 18, almost 19. Should i still be friends with her even if it is an 7-8 year/age difference and even i send out gifts? I always talk to the mom. The mom likes me and so does the little girl. I don't want the little girl to be disappointed. What are my options? What can i do? I have been hurt so badly and betrayed so horribly I can't stop feeling all this hate now. I want to hurt him back and make him suffer the way he has made me suffer. It's such a constant manifestation in the back of my mind. I've been kicked around, thrown away and disrespected by him so many times that I just couldn't take it anymore; after he lashed out at me for attempting to initiate a joke I had had enough. I wrote a couple notes describing how much I have hated and continue to hate him and he did eventually find and read them and I actually feel slightly ashamed for worsening the situation. I can't really guess how he felt about what I wrote though. I no longer want a relationship with him, but because of this constant hate I am always distracted and even little minuscule problems get to me. I felt a bit uncomfortable and started using humor as a defense mechanism. The situation started getting worse when the "name calling" started. Roughly translated to "dunce". I told the person that I did not appreciate what he was doing. He decided to ignore it (we're talking about a 27-year old here) and that's when I had to stand up from my place and tell him that just because I was entertaining him does not give him the right to be extremely hurtful and rude. I told him that I did not appreciate it or consider it funny. He started defending himself a lot. It got very uncomfortable. After an hour or so, I decided to go to his room and start a conversation. Unfortunately, he didn't want anything to do with me. Here's the thing. I've been bullied mercilessly (they know about it) in high school and I do not take kindly to hurtful things disguised as playful banter unless I am really close to the person. I already am clinically depressed, and I left my entire life back in my home state. I don't know what to say to her without it sounded like I want her to only focus on me. My family is moved to Florida too so when I move back I will be all alone if we stop being friends. I'm very scared to lose her. She knows more about me than my family does. Besides going to classes and eating dinner with my dorm roommate once or twice a week, I spend my entire existence in my dorm room. I am shy and have some anxieties and this has been increased by my failure to make friends at my University. I am graduating next semester and have gone my entire college career without any fun, friends or memorable experiences, or even just a study buddy or casual classmate friend. I focus on school and grades because I think it's important, but I long for a little distraction and fun from my sadness, loneliness and boredom. my anxieties stop me from exploring the city on my own, it's too overwhelming and stressful to do so. I would really appreciate any advice you all have on ways to cope, or how to make friends, or what i can do . there is no one i can talk to here, and I hate bothering my family and close friends from home with my problems so I would never call them and tell them my issues. I'm not sure how relevant this is for giving advice, but I am a 23 year old girl. |

It's confusing and weighing on my heart because there's feelings of guilt. My ex and I broke up a couple of months ago. At first it was really hard but once I saw the fresh hickies on his neck it showed me that it was time for me to move on as well. I was sad but happy that he was free. That I was free again. For starters I fell in love with our mutual best friend. We were always very close and over the last month we've grown even closer. There's something going on between us that feels like much more than a fling. I want to be honest and see where we stand but I'm worried if I tell him my feelings it will destroy our friendship. Should I risk it all and tell him? Or just let it go and wonder what could have been forever? I'd also like to tell my ex about what's been going on between us. I know if he found out through someone else he'd be upset and unforgiving. The thing is, if I tell him it would possibly destroy their friendship. We are both 36 years old and had issues with anxiety but we were supportive of each other which helped. As time went on, and we continued to communicate, my friend has told me to change my profile picture on social media, told me to buy new clothes as they make me look like a man (not true), don't buy movies but download them instead etc. One time he posted a picture of himself on FB and I commented saying "nice picture of you." He responded by taking down all of his pictures and not speaking to me for a long time. Recently when I needed someone to talk to, he would read my messages and not respond, but when he was upset about something, he would want me to comfort him. Last week he told me he is looking for a good job but since they are hard to find, he may have to take anything. I asked him what would working in a restaurant be like? Posted: 27 Oct 2015 01:47 PM PDT So my best friend and I have been planning this year's Halloween literally since last year, and we planned everything down to practically the minute, the main point being that we would have a sleepover after trick-or-treating. She literally just wrote to me saying that she can't have a sleepover and can only stay until 8:30pm because some random friend of hers asked to see her on Halloween, not to trick or treat, just to hang out, and she said yes. I'm really upset because we have been planning this for so long just to have her cancel it, when she could see her other friend on Friday or Sunday night since they are literally just hanging out?? Do I really not matter that much? What should I do?? Is there anything I can say that would convince her to stay with me? It's like, I also told him I didn't want to be friends anymore over the summer because he's a bit flaky. But he was like "no, you're my only friend." I decided to be friends again, and now he bails on me, and gets upset that I get upset when he does bail. I mean, I'm always there for him, but he's really flaky. Today I basically told him I'm not really sure we're friends, and he got mad and told me I'm selfish. He's kind of a jerk to a lot of girls at school too, but I for some reason let him chill with me. I have besn a bit selfish, but is it just me, or is it lame when people bail on others? Friends in general aren't my thing. How do I cope with lonliness? |

My friends all have amazing families (they all have picture perfect families). They all have a lot of money. They all have perfect health. So, when they complain I hate it. They complain like "ugh I hate my sister she's so annoying!" "My dad won't let me go out to the football game I hate him!" And it bothers me a lot. I always try to complain to put them in their place (it's a weird method) and I've been told I complain too much, and I want people to feel sorry for me. I don't, I want them to stop feeling sorry for themselves. I've had friends make fun of me and say" at least my dads not an alcoholic, at least I have money to buy food, at least I wasn't abused" multiple times as a comeback when we're fighting and none of my friends come to my aid. For example, one girl rated my friend a 3/10 for those TBH things on Instagram and now all my friends hate her, but when somebody actually says rude things to me everybody still talks to her. I just don't know what to do anymore. One of my friends had even tried to tell me she's had it worst because she lived in Detroit (she lives in the preppy good part of Detorit, Highland. She even went to a private school and she's rich!). I don't understand. I wish I was like them, but I can't. I wish they understood. Idk what to do. Please help me. |

I hear everyone else making plans and laughing together (including those 2 friends) and I just feel miserable.. When I try to hang out with otherpeolle I just have a feeling I'm the extra . And my friend is crushing on this guy and he's also coming. What she doesn't know is that that guy also likes her and he plans to confess that day. However, since we're a large group(well ALMOST everyone knows he's gonna confess) it'll be really awkward if they just suddenly disappear in the middle of everything. So we decided to play a game, where we go out and look for a pumpkin(since it's Halloween and all). We're gonna divide ourselves two and two, but it's really awkward if we just tell them to group together, since they're not really close friends and well, yeah. So I was wondering if there's a way to divide groups without the awkward moments. I was thinking of rock paper scissors etc. but there's no guarantee they'll end up in the same group. Any ideas? He keeps saying i'm stupid and every question I ask him is dumb. Then he tries to boss me around and yells at me saying "Go over there and do this!" He's so bossy and he gets really pissed off at me. Not only that but he calls me stupid all the time and tries to control me. I'm sick of this and whenever I try to be rude back he just gets even more pissed where he starts yelling in front of the whole class. Why is he doing this and what should I do to make him stop? I've deleted all my social media, because I didn't want to talk to anyone. They all are immature. The last time I talked to someone was in June, and I had just got out of a psychiatric hospital I was forced to stay at for ten days, even though my symptoms have nothing to do with my mental state (the worst days of my life, I still have nightmares of my mother telling me I have to go back). Should I start texting my friends? And how would I start the conversation? And one more thing: this girl who I was friends with three or four years ago, texted me a few days ago and said "Hey, this is [name] and I haven't seen you in a while. I heard you weren't feeling well and was wondering how you were." I was surprised, because we weren't friends anymore because I realized she was rude, spoiled, and academically competitive (we were the two students at the top of the class). Posted: 27 Oct 2015 11:38 AM PDT A guy I know invited me to come and hang out with him and his friends this weekend...The thing is, there's going to be singing, dancing and alcohol involved. I can't dance, can't sing and hate drinking. I know a few of the guys and I think they're okay, but there are also a few I don't know and everytime I go out with people who aren't my best friends (I'm not that close with these people), they constantly nag me to try and drink, which I don't want. Also, I think there won't be any other girls there. And I don't live very close - we are about half an hour drive away from each other....though I'd have to take a bus to and from there because no one can drive me. I'm not a very social person and I don't do parties often, so personally I'd rather stay at home but I also want to be friends with them. So how do I refuse him? Because I don't want to tell him directly that I'm not interested, I just don't like that kind of hanging out. |
| Question: Do I have a bad friend? Posted: 27 Oct 2015 11:15 AM PDT I thought she was a good one for awhile, but recently I'm beginning to rethink. One thing that always bothers me with her is that she hardly ever answers my texts. Sometimes she'll even say "hi" then once I respond I don't hear from her for the rest of the day. She's been confronted over it before but insists she's just bad at texting. At school, we would talk quite a lot in classes we shared. But what I noticed sometimes is she'd lightly tease me in front of other people, not offensively, but more playfully. To a point it began to bother me. She even chose someone else as a partner instead of me one time (like I said, we're BEST FRIENDS). Ever since I started doing homeschooling, almost every weekend I'd suggest we hang out- but she always makes reasons or excuses why she can't. As of right now I haven't spent time with her in about a month. The reason why I ask this now is because she's even making excuses as to why she can't come to my birthday (which she was told about a month beforehand). It was the last straw for me. I don't believe she completely doesn't care though. We've helped eachother with personal problems and have stayed loyal through every fight we've been in, but I can hear people talk about their best friends and what they do and I hardly relate to any of it. What do you think, do I have a bad friend? |

I also have 2 friends in my class who listen to me and make me fit in with them and make me feel happy. this one friend in the cool kids group makes me feel rlly happy and makes me laugh everyday and she is the closest to me. i really don't know what I'm asking right now, but do u guys think that this group likes me, or do they like not talk to me that much because I'm the new kid between all of them? i just wanna know if they like me or not..are they fake friends? i really don't know |

Sometimes he'll just be verbal, like, calling me a stupid slut and that stuff I guess is fine it's really awkward when he does it in front of class mates, but sometimes when we're walking in the hallway he'll grab me by the arm and act like we're having a heated argument, alll I do is laugh because it's awkward.
