Im 14 years old & I LOVE cuddling with my mom. To me its the best thing in the world. I love my mom very much, but some people say that its going to make me soft. I personally think they are full of crap. I use her breast as pillows & I even fall asleep cuddling with her. Is it bad?

I can't be in both places and my husband's mother wants us to be with her this year "I am not getting any younger" she says. She is a widow. My mother is married and says "excuse me but I am the one who has had Christmas every year (not sure what that means)" so she is mad I may have to see her Christmas weekend instead. How the hell do I handle this. It is October and they already are giving the guilt trip. I kind of feel sorry for my mother-in-law as all she will have is her one unmarried son. At the same time my mother is more festive at the holidays. Both are equally close. I should add my mother does not welcome non-family to holidays saying it is family time (her and my mother-in-law are only similar in their guilt tripping, otherwise opposites). My husband says I should add they both are great at the guilt trip and nagging. I only feel right complaining about my mother, leave the mother-in-law complaining to my husband.

I'm 17 and have lived in my other house for 17 years. It's extremely small (I have a family of 5/6 (when my grandma lives with us)) and we never had enough rooms (I shared w my sister) and it was always cramped.....but of course I loved it. It was annoying at many times though. But I just moved today to a much bigger house, I have my own room, more than 1 bathroom, its cleaner and nicer.....but I'm sad. Very sad. I keep thinking about my childhood in that home. In an hour we are going back to it one last time to clean it, say goodbye, and walk one more time in the woods in our front yard. There is no woods in our new front yard. I know it will be better living here in the long run but I'm gonna miss it so much. So so so so so so much. Everyone in my family keeps crying (little siblings) and I want to also. How do I cope with this? When will I get used to this house? Any of you move from a childhood home? How did you deal with it? Ughhhhh :((( Anything triggers me thinking about being a little girl watching Disney movies in my old living room that is now empty. I keep getting panic attacks. WILL I EVER feel at home?

I was walking with 2 people and after I had begun speaking one of them began to speak. I listened to what she had to say and left. How do you have a conversation with someone who interrupts your speaking but gets angry when you act the way they do. It's my Mom and my Uncle that do this to me. We're a close family that love each other. I just have a hard time communicating with people who act like you're not standing next to them.

My father died three years ago and I know it is normal to be sad some but I am sad regularly and lonely. I enjoyed him a lot (he was a single parent) and now don't have someone with the same connection as I did him. How can I get over this? He's technically not my boyfriend; we broke up a few months ago after a 6 month relationship and have recently started talking again. But these two talk while we cut it off and he's had a crush on her before. I've read their texts. She talks to him about her problems (for example, strict parents). He gives her details on why he'll drop out of his IB school. So much discussion that we don't have. They talk pretty often. And have lengthy conversations. I understand we're still in a fragile state as we're just getting back to each other, but still. I'm afraid if I bring it up to him he'll get mad at me and tell me I have nothing to worry about. Then he'll get annoyed that I'm worried and cut it off. :(

I am 18. I was recently offered a coaching position at the high school I graduated from. I need let them know soon. I told my parents I am going to take it because it would be a good experience and I have a lot of passion for the sport. It would take up no more time that my current job of working at a grocery store. My parents think that I just need to focus on my school work, but I keep on telling them I am keeping up with and my job just fine. I decided I am going to take the job because I am 18 and I am capable of making my OWN decisions. Something they clearly do not understand. I also just switched banks. Mainly because of conveince for me. It is in my own town and I am 18 and don't need a joint-account with my parents anymore. Of course they flipped over that and said you should have asked us before closing your old bank account and I said I dont need your permission any more, I am a adult! They don't even want me working, but again that's not their decision.

I feel like my parents have 'gotten over me' ... not in a whiny, "they don't love me" way, just ... we used to be quite close (I'm adopted), and now, though I try to be concillatory, we just seem to fight so much. I know I'm not perfect - but I wish I felt they liked me a bit more, as me, not as their child that they love dutifully.. I'm 16: is this normal, maybe even healthy? My parents and I are very different people (atheist/humanist - devout Catholic etc.), but I know that no parents are liberal enough for their impassioned teens. I try to study hard for myself, and for them. I want to study languages and history at university, and maybe do journalism or teaching afterwards. I feel very depressed, and I can't think who I could tell, because my parents are under a lot of pressure. I have a cheerful, emotionally tough image (I cry a lot, but always at films, songs or books), and my friends are just people (fantastic people!) who I have a laugh with - and sympathise with over 5th year (the year before LC / "finals" year)! The guidance counsellor in school isn't worth a curse. (she's what Granny Weatherwax would call a wet hen!) :-) :'( I don't even know anymore. How can other people deal with life, is basically what I'm asking. I hate my name. Possibly this it like half the problem. Really hate it. Trashy fecking name. (I'm named for my birth father).

I know it sounds weird. Im a 14 year old boy, I live with my 2 sisters, 12 and 16. And my mother, 37. My dad passed away right after cassie was born. Anyway, about a week ago my mum challenged me that I could not carry her on my back while being on all fours. I said I could and so we tried it. She sat on my back and told me to walk. She felt very proud if me and was laughing and enjoying herself I couldnt disappoint her and tell her my knees hurt. She kept doing it everyday and all day to move from one room to another. At first, she kept worrying and ask me if i was okay with it and I kept reassuring her it was totally fine although it isnt. After 2 or 3 days she stopped asking if it hurt as to I always said it was fine so she was relieved. And mow my sisters are also doing it and most of my day is me carrying all 3 of them around. They are even making games and competitions for who can ride me faster. I have a fit body and I do a little lifting and im strong but still it really hurts. How can I make them stop without disappointing them?

I had a stepmom who lied about me and favored my brother and everytime I tried to say something my dad would call me a lier and treat me like I was terrible. Now I'm 15, when I was 14 she threatened to kill him so I supported my dad at court and we got a restraining order. Now my dad always acts like he is disappointed in me. I told him I want to be a teacher, he hates that and says it'll never be a career, I used to get horrible grades and was depressed, now I have a grade point average of around 2.85 and last year I even hit 3.0. I showed him all excited and he said "it's ok I guess." He always talks about how my hair was better longer (it's a bit short, like my chin length) and he doesn't like it. And the other day I told him I had an A in history and a B in math, I was so excited I was improving. But he said "Well. It's your career." With a frown. Why does he treat me like this? Okay so my grandmother pulled some strings and I finally got a real job. But it's an 18 minute drive to get there. My parents van is running on its last legs as it is and my great aunt's car is about the same. Parents drive me there and aunt drives me home. My mom just today said that I should try to get switched to a closer location or try and get a job at Walgreen's instead. I'm 17 but turn 18 in less then a month ever since I was around 15 my mom has been treating me like as if I weren't even her own blood I've tried everything from doing random chores around the house without asking and things like that and she still ignores it but if it were my 15 year old brother that did those things she would praise him for it. Okay so it's October 11, and we just got home from the mall , my cousin wants to be a deer but doesn't want to buy anything beacsye she's broke so she's making the costume herself. My husband and I talked about him taking our son to his scout event outside in the forest to hike. I am 6 months pregnant and having trouble w/my legs + I am handicapped and told my mother that I would take her to a party at her neighbors house (she has trouble walking too). Last minute yesterday, his mother announced that his entire family (including grandparents who are in from up north) would be coming to church and going out to lunch. Instead of checking with me (I told the mom we cant make it but they didnt call back) and telling them we already had plans, he told them yes! we will go to lunch. I am now stuck (preg/crippled) taking our son to hike where I could fall and my mother had to cancel her plans all because he wanted a free dinner with his family. Do I have a right to be angry @ him for this stunt? Since people want to be judgmental, they better know the facts before throwing stones. My mother just had a knee replacement and wrist implant surgery, therefore she is crippled and cannot walk. She cannot walk unassisted and is elderly. Geez people are rude!

I feel guilt, shame & depressed. My family just keeps talking about a break up I had & although I miss him (& obviously so do they), but it was for the best. Today I was talking to my mom, and my sister interrupted me, and my mom shushed me to listen to her, and she INTERRUPTED ME. My mom should have told her to wait. That she was being rude. She doesn't even pretend to listen to me. She just does other things, and sometimes I stop mid-story, because I know she isn't listening, and she doesn't even acknowledge that I stopped. She never comments on what I say... I understand that what I talk about might not be so interesting, and I am not offended if she thinks I am boring, we like what we like... Hello there, I'm having problems deciding on how to my dad I don't want him at my wedding. My dad and I were always close as I was growing up but then he started molesting me as I got a little older around 8-11 And though I in no way shape or form liked it or do i know why i allowed it to happen, I never said anything to anyone until about a year or so ago to my fiance and my twin brother. My fiance doesn't like him at all now which I don't think he should, and my brother is still close to him. My parents make me text them everywhere I go, then they will drive by the place I say I am to check if I am really there. Sometimes they will even sneak in and see who I am with. Then when I get home they act really clever and name off the friends I was with like they re Sherlock Holmes or something. Then when I get home they accuse me of going out with whores and having sex with them. When they both know my girlfriend was a foreign exchange student, and she has moved back to New Zealand, so we are making this work long distance. I guess they think I m not faithful. They try and give me condoms, which is really insulting that they don t take my long distance relationship seriously enough that they don t think I ll be faithful. Then they say they won t let us take a trip to see her even though we have the money, "because it is dangerous." They won t let me go to college out of state, they want me to come home on weekends during college. They never want me to move away. They always ask me if I do drugs and threaten to drug test me. What do I do about this? Also they have no reason not to trust me, I just became part of the National Honor Society, I do very well in school, I am in three AP classes, I've never been in trouble. I don't know what their problem is.

I'm a freshman in high school. When I was in third grade (6 years ago) I got a diary for my birthday. There were cupcakes on the cover and two little ribbons to tie it shut with and I loved that thing with all my heart. In the front cover of that diary I had written a long paragraph about how it was my book and no one else had the right to be snooping through it. Reading it right now, I see rants about the popular girls in my third grade class, I see a long entry (like 8 pages or something) about my crush, I see a selection of entries about a haunted bracelet, etc., etc. There are also rants about teachers, my brother, and my mom. I may have used foul language in these entries, but I was in third grade and I thought it was cool! Well, anyway, the other day I was cleaning my room, and my mom came in and sat down on the bed and started talking to me. Fine. We were having a perfectly normal conversation, and I don't remember how it came up, but she said, "Yeah, I read your diaries when you were younger and you had some serious anger issues!" And she WONDERS why she can't know the password on my phone! Now, I feel totally violated. I always knew she didn't trust me, and this proves it. I was in third grade for Christ's sake; what did she think was going to be in there? I suddenly feel like I have no privacy and I need to start hiding things from her. I trusted her to give me at least a little of privacy, and she has totally shattered that trust. What do I do?

Hello, I m 14 years old. My Father is Muslim and my Mom is as well but not strict at all. She is Spanish and my Father is from Pakistan. I always feel forced to go to the Masjid. I respect their beliefs, however I am atheist. I don t believe in a God. My parents don t know this and I m not sure if I want to tell them about this. I gave my Mother some hints but she just talked about how it s one of the parent s duty to teach their kids about God. I hate going to the Masjid and the other people there. My mother can't parent and my brother won't leave me alone. She drags my grandparents into everything because she can't stand up for herself and then lets them punish me after blowing things out of proportion. My mother is also very spiritual and doesn't believe in regular methods of medicine, and with me having insomnia she won't let me get sleep medicine because of her beliefs. I survive on two hours a night, regularly. She hasn't had me vaccinated for anything in over ten years as well. I really just want to leave. I was also raised in a very christian home, and when I came out as atheist, things really blew up. I just can't stay here anymore. Three years ago, I met someone online who I've really grown to love. Saying I love you has become a regular thing for us. I told him about the way my family is, how things are, and he said that if he has the money, when he's eighteen and i'm sixteen in about two years, after that he could take me in. I'm 18 years old and I work 3rd shift Monday through Friday. So I sleep until about 4pm everyday. Even though I tell him not to bother me until then he always shows up around 9 am and my parents just let him in. I love my mom but she's a little odd and tends to get under pressure easily so even if I tell her not to she will let him in. He's like a kid. He will barge in my room and start jumping on my bed. It sometimes almost turns into a fist fight because he'll refuse to leave. He'll say "you don't have work until tonight, let's go do something" and then he gets all pissy when I tell him no. My mom sadly is in the icu in "critical condition" I don't know what much of that means but I'm 16 and she is my only fit parent. I hate them not just because they take control of my life but also because they are jealous of me being happy with other people. Everything went well when i was in kindergarten. My mom started ABUSING me from my Grade 1 just because i was a slow learner of language. She beat me because of grade; when i cried she shouted at me and asked me to shut up. Things only get worse. During the last year of my middle school, i filled my questions in a wrong order. I told her and she started cursing and shouted at me. She said i was useless and asked me to die. I was really depress and i ran away from home. Now i am in an international high school and i will go aboard for university. After running away from home, i could never open up to them. I rarely talk to them. Dad told me to be nice to my mom. Im sorry, i really dont know how to face them or talk to them. I think i am literally in prison and they're killing me inside. Another thing is they give me NO FREEDOM. Im 16 and i just want to hang out with my friends. What's the problem? They say you're always nice to your "friends" but never talk to your parents. I have my own credit card but they keep it away from me. My parents are control freaks. My father wants my mom to stay with me when I go to university. They want me to be like them. What can i do? A few days ago my mom was talking to someone on the phone at 5 in the morning speaking in Japanese. And I know she was trying to cover up her conversation because she had the tv on and it was on a channel she would never watch (Disney channel). I thought maybe it could be her friend, but she was talking in a nice tone and it's different when she's talking to friends.She and my dad also don't sleep on the same bed anymore. When I was young, I had a bunk bed and seperated it and my mom sleeps on it now. My Sometimes she's sleeps on our couch, because my dad snores loud sometimes but Usually wears ear plugs when it happens. Recently,she slept on the couch, and I don't know why because my dad wasn't snoring that night. We also went to Japan about a week ago and have to sleep on the floor at my grandmas house. She even told me that she needs her privacy. I also noticed that she doesn't leave her phone in the living room (where she charges it), but takes it to her room now. And she actually started to take walks and cut down on the junk food. I think it's because she trying to impress someone who is not my father. Do you think she is or not?

My family never has been nice and even when I was younger my grandmother would call me a fat pig. Mind you nobody in my immediate family is small but I seem to be the butt end of the jokes. My sister and mom especially tells me to back away from the table, etc. And it's to the point where I don't even eat much anymore. I hide what I eat now and when I eat I always now and wonder if I should be eating this, serving size or not I feel l like itw too much. I just feel so ashamed of myself now and I was bullied in high school as well but having things come from family members is way worse. Makes me feel like in not good enough. My sister said its just a joke but its nothing to joke about I have a lot of emotional issues which is why I eat often. Recently I was living with my grandma, this past July my mom moved me and her to Georgia. My mom and dad agreed that I can move back if I didn't like it, well the first month I was there I complained a lot and wanted to move back, she went through my phone and saw that I was sneaking out when I lived with my grandma and talking bad about my mom. I was in the kitchen and when I walked in to the living room I saw him slap her square across the face. She yelled 'what is wrong with you?!' At him, but he just stayed silent. So she ran upstairs with me following, but she slammed the door in my face, I tried to talk to her but she didn't want to... So I'm giving her time to cool off. My step-dad is a drunkard who free loads off of my mother who actually owes her nearly $2000. She's tried to kick him out but seems to give up after some time. This is not the only violent act he has performed, he's thrown his phone at my mom before, too. I'm a 12 year old girl and I have a 16 year old sister. What am I supposed to do?
