Posted: 17 Sep 2015 05:11 PM PDT We were each other's best friends for years and we did tons of fun stuff over the summer, we went to theme parks, went to movies, traveled, went to camp, but she (we'll call her Jen) got put in a different class than me, so we only see each other inbetween classes. Now, every time I see her after class, I try say at least hi to her and she just looks me strait in the eyes and walks away. We have a group text with all of our friends, and this one girl (let's call her Chris) is rlly smart and she always is trying to prove me wrong, and totally trash my jokes by talking about how "unintelligent" they are, mostly puns. Jen and I always make jokes w/ each other and suddenly I call Mary off after trying to tell my my jokes are "incorrect again, and Jen takes her side!!! Jen and I always joke about that stuff and suddenly she's completely against me!! I try to make plans with Jen and she just ignores me, and then like to days later, she begging me to hang out!!! *two faced much??* The problem is that Jen is litterally my only friend in our 100 kid school. In the time she was mad at me (she gets mad often), she made a new friend. Nowadays, she tells EVERYTHING to that girl, and makes sure that she doesn't say anything to me. I like the new girl, too, but I'd never replace my BFF with her. Now, might I add, she's been, well, cutting herself. Could you please help me with: 1) If I should let the new person take over my BFF, and 2) how I can stop her from cutting herself. After a while, she noticed that I liked her and was leading me on with texts like "I think you're cute" and "You're such a dork, but you're lucky cause I fall for dorks". All of my other friends said I should make a move and quit being a p***y. One day at lunch my best friend asks, "Why aren't you eating? You look nervous..." and I told her, "I might do something stupid, so wish me luck". I found the girl, sat next to her, and she says "You never told me what that game was about", so I hesitated and said "I guess I can tell you, but I gotta whisper it cause all your friends are here" (even though they weren't even paying attention). And so she lets me get closer and umm...I kinda leaned right in and kissed her on the cheek. My best friend was watching of course and was laughing hysterically as I walked back shaking like I saw a ghost. That didn't end well. I got a note next period saying something along the lines of "I'm not really looking for a relationship, we should just be friends." Now...my best friend spilled the secret to my other friends cause I wouldn't tell them, and those friends told other people. Surprisingly, they all loved it and told me I had guts. The attention feels wrong. Some idiot who found out must have asked her about it and I got a text today asking "Are you telling people you kissed me?" I explained, but she didn't seem to believe me or hate me any less. I don't know how to fix this... |

I am not looking for any biased answers, I just want to know who is in the right here. I am currently in high school, and failing an AP US History class my friend Jacie also takes this class. So after school her and I stay for tutoring and if we don't finish we go to her house, because she lives 2 minutes from school and I live 30 minutes from school. He told me that I either have to only hang out with him or only hang out with her. I couldn't believe what I heard him say. He is making me chose between two friends. If I had to chose I would rather be friends with Jacie, because I know that she would never put me in that kind of situation. He also tells me that I talk about her too much but I never talk about her unless I am with her. He also says that "I hope that you end up with her" which isn't even the situation all I am doing is going to study with her and nothing more. I remained the bigger person until he told me that he never gave a F*** about me and neither does his girlfriend. After that I blew up because even if he didn't care which he probably didn't because he never did anything to provide for the relationship, I just couldn't believe that a person that I thought could be my friend for so long could say all this stuff to hurt someone he "Cared" about. I also knew her as a friend before they even started dating. |

I've only ever liked 3 people, the first two for about 6 months, and the current one since May. I've had social problems since I was about 5 and I don't know if these are related. They started jumping my bro. They took his iphone and wallet. A week later one of the three guys was shot by an unknown suspect in the city. I then seen they set up a gofundme page for dude asking 15k. Now there's two of them but my brother doesn't recognize them but i seen a pic of them wearing fake gucci belts on facebook. The only way to contact this other girl was via facebook. I sent her a nice message. I told her to tell them other dudes that they will pay for what they done & to tell em to stop stealing and get job before they end up like the dead one. Now on my facebook i like to show out no doubt because i earned it/worked hard. I got pics of money, jewelry, expensive clothes, my 80k benz. I'm 23 mind you. This girl responded with "Look at you you think you run shXt by looking at your pics and you think you the men". I told her not exactly but i bet you i can get your boys to wash my car and maybe then you can afford real gucci belts for them and have them take off that fake shxt they wear & have y'all take down that gofundme page for this dead piece of shxt. They were together when they were both 16 and now they're both 20. 2 days ago, I discovered that Josh cheated on his girlfriend with two other girls around May or June time. When I discovered, he wanted me to not tell anyone about what he did. Earlier today, his girlfriend came over because she needed to give something back she borrowed from my sister. When she was here, she needed to use the bathroom quickly. As she was using the downstairs bathroom, our friend Ashley who also knew about his cheating rang me. I went in another room to talk privately. Ashley then wanted to discuss Josh cheating. She said "can you believe it?" I said, "I was actually really shocked, I can't believe Josh cheated on her like that." Ashley replied with "I know right." The conversation was only that length. She then discussed her birthday. After our phone call, my friend's girlfriend left the house. In the afternoon, Josh came round and started shouting at me. He said, "You couldn't keep your fat gob, could you? My girlfriend broke up with me because she heard your stupid conversation with Ashley. She broke with me and never wants to speak to me again, just like I stop speaking to you. Our relationship has ended and it is all your fault!" I then said I was sorry and he said he would never ever forgive me. He hasn't spoken to me since then. Is it really my fault his relationship ended? |

We both go to the same college together, and I've realized that she has been changing slowly ever since freshman year (we are seniors now). I realized she has been changing since freshman year - whenever we would hang out, she would be completely mellow and yawn, and sometimes when I speak to her she would not respond back. But then once her new friends came around, all of the sudden she springs with energy and is laughing. She has a really good singing voice and wants to become famous. Every time she hears about an open mic opportunity or a talent show, she participates just to sing. While I do support her, this year I've realized that she has started to belittle people. For an example, at her 21st birthday party we were at her apartment and she kept changing the game, even if we all were enjoying it. There was this one game where you suck the card and then pass it on to the next person, these two guys were sitting next to each other and they both automatically said NO we're not playing. Everyone in the room started cracking up, but she was the only one serious and then she started calling them lame. I couldn't really get the card to stick onto my lip, and she was like "wow, you're so wack!" but when someone got it to stick she'd be like "you see, this is why you're my girl!" And now she CONSTANTLY rolls her eyes whenever I speak, cuts me off, etc... |

I'm more of a shy, quiet, reserved type of person and she is pretty much the opposite but we like a lot of the same stuff and we get along pretty well. I struggle with depression problems a lot and she was the first person to ever be there for me and she still is. She does so much for me and I feel like I'm not that great of a friend compared to her especially since she recently told me I had hurt her by not speaking to her much lately. The reason I hadn't talked to her a lot was because I was in the middle of one of my depressive episodes and I didn't want to bother her again with it because I felt guilty for putting all of my problems on her. Ever since I was in fourth grade, I learned how to stop being socially awkward, bring my grades up, and know how to cooperate with a teacher, before that I was a mess with disgusting habits. When I picked myself up, I worked for a reputation as a hard worker and was deemed as, what most people would say, "an intellectual person." Even in the summer before 8th grade, I went away to S.I.G. (stay at a dorm for 3 weeks and take college courses simplified for younger people) and I was highly regarded as a copious note taker by my instructors. I was the kid who won the Pi competition in 6th grade and remembered 34 digits over the course of two days. I had a good amount of close friends and made friends with people in grades above me so I rarely got bullied. I got into friendly competition with friends and acquaintances over academics and was usually in the lead. When I got into 8th grade, a few people moved, including friends. Now, the people I usually compete with in academics have dulled down, including myself. There is this one person who I usually never had classes with and never noticed, but she is good at drawing, music, debate, politics, and had a big vocabulary, even bigger than mine. The only problem is that she is a little emotionally unstable. I feel that I'm not that important anymore and I have stopped trying in school because of this. This is effecting how I perform in school, can anyone help? Becoming distant from best friends too. |

Suddenly all anyone talks about is NFL sports and NBA draft picks and who's on what team etc. we rarely talked about that at my school and I'm having trouble fitting in. I'm getting a rep as being shy because I literally have nothing to say past where I'm from, the classes I'm taking (the "your new some I'm going to indulge you with questions that I don't care about the asset to" questions. A few people have asked me "so whose your team?" And when I let them know I'm not into sports, they all give each other a look of "**** this dude, he can't hang". Gorgeous girls walk up to me (being tall and black) asking "oh my God, like do you play basketball?! (Trying to get in the new "Baller's" pants)" And when I tell them "haha nah I don't" I get the "oh... So what DO you play?" And when I tell them I don't play anything they go "oh... Ok then..." And walk away... Is not following professional sports heavily going to negatively affect me in the future? (College etc.) I feel like that Fantasy Football commercial where they say "if you don't play fantasy football, then you will have nothing to talk about with your friends" ... Great marketing, almost working... Anyone? |

Like we had this class question and she instantly had the answer; so when she asked me about it I basically told her that the question has many directions and she like literally mugged me like a true thug. So anyways, she's always like that so whatever, but now she's telling everyone on the planet that I think I'm better than her and that I'm always disagreeing with her. But, I'm not disagreeing with her, I'm just adding my inputs. So like I'm literally irritated at the fact that she's always trying to make me look bad because she instantaneously assuming that I'm putting her down. |

This year is just the beginning of my 10th grade year, & I have already had 2 people call me weird. I'm a lot more calm this year too. Like people seem more standoffish. Why? Like tbh I thought that the hyper crazy people we're the weird ones. But now that I've calmed myself people are calling me weird and s**t & honestly it offends me. Same personality, different tempo. My best friend trusted about 7 people and she would make then feel better everytime they felt sad.. now all of those people would keep leaving her and not talking to her.. she called me and started crying and i really didnt know what to say.. Though, what i told her is "Look all of these people arent worth it and we all know you have other people that care about u, just like i do" She is depressed.. And its making me sad.. |

It didn t work so I tried saying sorry but she wouldn t listen. Then she went to talk to her friends and I was with my friend and I said she was a ***** (I know it was over the top). So I told them the news and after five seconds of sadness they didn't even seem to care. So for example in front of the school before school is starting I go to my friend who is first here and she doesn't say anything, then someone else came and she acted like it was the greatest thing in the word and said finally someone came! Also when someone bullied me my other friend just stood theres shrugged and said oh well it is what it is get over it. They also called me weird crazy and annoying and scary and told me to shut up. Despite telling them to wait for me they don't really wait for me and will not talk except for when I talk. I want to move away, move away from them! At least I have one other real friend in the school. |

I feel very separate from everyone else, but not because I'm stuck up or anything, I'm actually very much the opposite. I have a very wide variety of interests so it's not hard for me to find commonalities with people, but it just seems impossible for me to feel like we connect. I don't really understand it. I'm very easygoing and have an easygoing sense of humor, I'm nice to people, and I'm very diverse in the things that I like. I feel like it should be easier to find connections with people but I never do. I'm an introvert and have a bit of social anxiety, but I'm not shy. I tend to blush but I still enjoy talking with people. Even the friends that I do have I feel like they always slip away. I'm a loyal friend and there for them when they need me but I feel like I get ditched when something better comes along for them. The thing is, they can be the nicest person, and not the type of person to do that but they do it to me. I don't see what I'm doing wrong or why I can never feel connections with people. It's kind of lonely to feel this way. I do enjoy my alone time but not feeling lonely. Does anyone else feel this way or have any suggestions of what I can do? I'm done school and all of that so I don't think it's entirely an adolescent thing. Any input would be much appreciated though. |

I love to draw. Its my passion, and she draws better than I do and always gets compliments on it, she always does better than me in school and I feel bad after. She gets almost ANYTHING SHE WANTS. She suddenly stopped hanging out with me. She's say stupid lies like "I didn't go on vacation yet" when she really went and was back home. She's ignore my texts or say she was busy. Whenever we did hang out, (I was always her last option) she'd see other people and invite them to join us. Of course this turned me into a third wheel. She knew how awkward I felt and said next time it would just be us. Unfortunately, "next time" never arrived. School started again and she always avoids talking to me even when we are standing one foot away from each other. I realize I could try to talk to her, but if she ignores my texts, surely she'll shrug me off in public. I know I could have tried to be outgoing, but both of us knew that was nearly impossible. ( If you were wondering, she's starving for popularity) Anyways, I want to send her this text: Okay now. You see I texted you, so you either ignore it or read it and don't respond. I don't really care anymore. I'm going to delete you contact, and you should do the same. I'm tired of being the person you go to when you're bored. In short, I'm done with your ****. So Red is the most popular girl in my class, and everybody practically worships her. It makes me feel sick. It d be okay if she was nice, but she s horrid! She hates me, because I m the only one who doesn t worship her. And I make it clear that I dislike her. But I only say it, I never do anything mean or against her. On the other hand, she behaves awfully to me! I can quite honestly say I m bullied by her. We have a class group chat on social media, and she keeps calling me names on it and openly humiliating me. She insults everything I do, and sniggers at me openly. She treats me like dirt, and gives me dirty looks whenever she looks at me. She sniggers at me whenever I say something in class, and turns many people against me. I don t want to tell an adult about her, because now I m older (nearly 15), I m too old to be snitching on people. I want to be able to deal with things myself. I don t want to just ignore her. I ve tried that. I ve also tried to stand up to her, but she just uses her class minions against me. The only thing left to do is revenge. Something that will cause her problems (eg: hiding her homework; I know thats a bit of a lame one haha) Anybody got any simple, easy revenge ideas? Me and another girl (I call her that because she acts like that) at work have a mutual guy friend. It's hard because I really care for my friend because he is awesome to be around and we have lots in common, but the other chick seems to think I am madly in love and obsessed with him and that I think she is in love with him and I am jealous of her for it. At one point she messaged me and said how I will never be dating me and I should just be happy we're friends and to stop being possessive and jealous. I always get the impression I need permission to hang out or talk to him. She took it upon herself to tell me that he said he just wanted to be friends with me, under the pretence she was worried about my feelings. As she was trying to be friends with me. I already knew instinctively that I was friend zoned, which is why I never talked to him about. I feel that it was not her right to do so. At one point I had to report her at work because she was harassing me. It made things worse. Yes I have feelings for him, but most of them are fading away as I know it's not reciprocal or maybe just bad timing. Either way that's my business. I just wish I knew how to make this stop without sacrificing my friendships as she has made friends with my other friends at work. |

Jokingly I said "I like to try new positions". With a big smile on his face, he said "If my boss knew what I was thinking now, I would be fired on the spot". I told him "If something comes up, let me know". We both had a good laugh. In the employee break room I told some of my female co workers about this and they told me that was sexual harassment. You know how Jonah hill's character was a loser in school the first time, then he was popular. But when he went to college he was a loser again. It's kind of like that. In high school I was a loser and was bullied all the time. Then when I got to community college I was popular. I had a bunch of friends, hooking up with girls, going to party's, and pretty much happy for once. A few weeks ago I transferred to a university and it's horrible. It's just like high school all over again. I went in there with the same attitude I had in community college and it just backfired. My confidence just melted back down. People are real judgmental here. Everyone just try's to look cool and everything has to do with cliques and social status. I'm back to being a loser again. |
