I don't have suicidal thoughts. All that happened was he didn't let me meet my friend at 5pm at the park. So I said I was gonna jump out of the window and kill myself if he didn't let me. he still wouldn't let me go out. So I went and sat on my window ledge and put my legs out of the window. Then yelled to my mom who was passing by my room, that I will jump. So she toad my dad and he get all mad at me and said I better get back inside before he kills me himself. We argued for like 10 minutes and he said go meet my friend then. So I did. I came home like 15 minutes ago and he was mean to me. saying that he can play that game too. and that he'll make me an appointment with a therapist. I said he is wasting the persons time and he didn't even care. also said if I ever do that again then he will hit me so hard I'll wish I'd jumped. Wtf. He is crazy. HE needs a therapist. I toad him that and he said get the FCK to bed!!!!!!! With that many exclamation marks. and I ran upstairs and my mom was shaking her head at me so I said die of Ebola you b word and she tattled to my dad. I herd her. I try to be gentle to them but I end up beating them even worse. Every time i beat them they start crying histerically and then I beat them again which makes them cry even more. They tell me they are the only ones who get beaten by their parents. Why am I such a good call of duty player. I just dont understand it. I cant help it that I am better at them in call of duty. Is there a way for them to get better at it because me beating my kids is tearing my family apart. |

She has a chronic illness, and she's had it for 12 years or so. She's tired a lot, and I'm very understanding. I used to and still do a lot for her (like doing random things for her, like making her a meal or something). She is constantly telling me that I never do anything for her and that I'm a lazy piece of sh**. It makes me feel so bad and guilty to point where I feel completely worthless and I horrible person. I myself have been dealing with a lot mentally for the past two years now. I'm depressed (haven't been diagnosed by a doctor, but I know I am), I have social anixety (so I have no friends, I'm serious) and I have an overall low self esteem and a horrible body image (Which has caused me to develop bad eating habits, such as binging and fasting). I am getting better though, or hopefully. Ive confessed my feelings to my mom numerous times, trying to explain to her why I'm so 'lazy' or why I sleep a lot or am tired, but it's like she doesn't believe me, or doesn't care. When I try to explain how I feel, she says "There's something wrong with you" in a really disgusted voice. Then she's like "you need to go to a doctor". She acts like I'm really f*cked up sometimes and other times she's like "Oh stop pretending that you feel so bad, that's nothing!" I need to stop letting my mom affect me, but I don't know how? Everytime she always breaks me. |

It was this BlackBerry spinoff, you know, with the physical keyboard and no touchscreen, and it had a prepaid Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card. It doesn't even have support for the newer apps, and I can't even use the Internet on it. It finally broke about a month ago, so I asked my parents for an iPhone 5C, but then my dad gave me his old iPhone 3G, and treated HIMSELF to an iPhone 5C. I was crushed when he did that. My mom did the same thing by getting herself a Nokia Lumia 1020. You can clearly see we do not have any financial problems. The iPhone that my dad gave me has a cracked screen and a slow processor that can't handle the newer apps. I have to press down REALLY hard to get the power button to turn off the phone. It can't even download iOS 8, and is stuck on 6.1.13. It still works, and I still have it, and I barely even use it. I am the only one in my class without a newer cell phone, and I feel terribly left out when my classmates talk about their phones. What do I do? |

For almost 10 years, my sister did gymnastics which is super expensive and my parents showed up to every single one of her meets. I practically had to beg my parents for money for marching band and my parents would come to only one game a season. She always tells me I'm dumb, even though I was accepted into a major university and in the honors college in the university. She always tells me I am fat and that if I don't change, that no one will want me. I am currently 17 and a senior in high school and she still treats me as a baby, like I'll be lost without her guidance. She used to spank me up until I was 16, and then after that she hit me. When I threatened to call Child Services, she would say that they wouldn't do anything or she would be really offended. One time she hit me on the leg and I had a bruise on my leg for two weeks. I used to cut and when my mom found out, she grounded me for 3 months and told me my panic and anxiety attacks were me just being an attention whore. All the time, she comes home with a bad attitude and puts me down. Whenever I stand up to her though, she always gets really mad at me. I just feel so lost and sometimes I wonder if my mom is right about me, and that I'm just a crazy teenager. |

(not drugs), ive been having nighmares that wake me up everyday about minor secrets I hold from my parents and them finding out, but to a more extreme level. These dreams are scaring me even to think about when im awake because they are so disturbing and are not normal...what happened to me ? |

I have a mother who always treat me like a scum for being a smoker and for having troubles in my work and studies. So Yesterday I was told by mother that if I don't apply for a university course, "she will make my day a misery" when infact I have been applying but not got a reply back but I did not tell her that but the threat that she gave me made me feel so badly and unfairly treated, I shouted back at her then I said im going to leave the house and she said leave and don't take anything with you because you own nothing! I picked a bag and filled in my clothes while she was shouting at me and taking out everything she felt about me, all the things I felt that I was being misunderstood and mistreated about. am 23 and always felt that with understanding things will get better. so I went up to her grabbed her from her neck and pushed her, then ran out the house with her shouting don't come back! and I smashed the door. then as I walked away on my way to a hotel. things felt really strange and bad. so I ran back home and went on my knees and grabbed my mothers legs and crying begged her to forgive me and cut my hand for raising it on her and telling her that I feel like a sicko she also cried while a brother who didn't look like her cared was looking. right now things feel very strange and am very confused to how to deal with things. help! |

We've talked about Facebook before and he always told me that he couldn't add me because his parents closely watched his account. It was sometime last year I think or maybe two years ago. I'm not exactly sure. Back then his step-mom and real dad didn't know that we talked. Only is birth mother did. I guess in the past few months(sometime last year in the fall I guess?) He told his step mom about the fact that we talk and are really close and what not. He said that she was cool with it all for the most part. Sometime last month, his step mom added me on facebook. A few weeks later, he adds me on facebook. When he added me(or I'm guessing his step mom), we hadn't talked in a few days, so I guess he's grounded. But I accepted it. I dunno... is it just me, or is there something strange about this all? Should I accept her request? We usually talk every day. I haven't heard form him in over 3 weeks. Usually when we don't talk for a while it's because he got grounded for something. |

Posted: 11 Mar 2015 10:25 AM PDT So, I'm 17 and my grandmother has pretty much raised me because my mom is selfish and feels that she comes before her own children. I love her to death, but our relationship hasn't been the greatest. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression as a kid, but I've never used that as an excuse. I'm generally a happy and confident person, I just have days where I feel like crap. My grandmother, though, always holds it against me and tells me I'm just like my mother. Today is one of those days where I definitely don't feel the greatest(I feel physically ill), so I've been laying in bed. She wanted me to bring her a towel because the dog apparently did some "stuff" on the carpet. I brought her a towel, and started to head back to my room because I was dizzy. She starts yelling at me to come and help her clean it up, but I honestly could not. Just getting up to get a towel was enough to make me want to pass out. She told me that she hated me. This isn't the first time she has said this, but it really bothered me. Like, she hates me for being sick? She came in my room a few minutes later and started screaming about how I was a selfish *****, just like my mother, and she couldn't stand me. She pretty much told me to get out of her house. I didn't say anything because my therapist told me that I'm better off being quiet when my grandmother gets like this(she keeps arguments going unnecessarily). She told me she hated me again. This is really bothering me. Advice? Believe me, if I could leave, I would. That's not an option, though. I have no relatives anywhere near where I live, and I'm not close enough to any friends to stay with them. Technically, I could move out, but I don't have a job or any money. |

He and my mom would ALWAYS get into arguments about it because he would be working on something and there would be so much noise and t would be impossible for her to sleep. They've had numerous and nasty arguments, some so bad that they almost kinda started physically fighting. My mom has that my way or the highway mentality and my dad is very stubborn and often inconsiderate. So my dad went and moved all his equipment to the dining table, which was incredibly stupid to me. One time when I slightly moved his computer so I could eat, he called me later and screamed and yelled at me two time sin a row. Anyways now my mom is getting really irritated with the space the computer takes up, I man for Gods sakes it's on a table where people EAT!! Anyways the latest is she said she is giving him a week to move his stuff. She made space in the living room for him and told him to go buy a desk for everything. My dad is not giving a crap or budging, today she disassembled everything and put them on a chair. Now I know when my dad comes back from work, he and my mom will have another nasty and heated argument. I got a bunch of homework to do tonight, so I asked my mom to do this on Friday instead when I will be at work and even when I am home i will have not many school obligations. She just gave me a long scowling glare. What do you guys think about what I said? Was it sensible? What do you think about this whole situation? Who is right and who is wrong? Apparently my parents are pushing me away from them, blaming me for all the chaos in the family. Whenever my younger sblings (18 & 21) stand up for themselves and gives their own opinion, they see it as being my fault. It all mainly started when I refused to sign a mortgage with my parents, because I was getting married and did not want to be bound. I talked to my fiancé, and he said that he would leave me ( which I understand) if I signed it, because who wants to be bound to something that is not theirs. My parents were appalled at him for saying that. I was hurt but I understood why he was upset. Then my family tried to get me to sign it, and just keep it a secret saying well we weren't married yet. I did not agree with this crazy way of thinking. Now my parents are blaming me for everything, saying I am betraying them, not respecting then and not treating them like parents. I love them a lot but right now I have to take care of my own life. Am I the bad person in all of this? All I want is to live a happy life with my fiancé and go to school.. is that wrong? Is it wrong to want a life at 22? To me it seems like my parents do not want to lose their control over me.... *my fiancé told them that he'd leave me.. so he could make them realize what the heck they were doing but that backfired...* |

For the last couple of months, I've been wanting to have sex, like in a non horny way. When I used to think about sex I would have a panic attack and now its all I think of in my free time. I've searched all over the internet and have determined that I'm read, or at least really close to it. I have been with my boyfriend for over 2 years and this is a very serious relationship. We were planning on waiting until I was 18 for legal issues(He's 3 years older) but I have inspected the laws a little closer and it turns out it was legal to have sex with him when I was 14. I'm educated and know the risks. I want birth control, but I also want to talk to my mom first. She's usually very understanding but lately she has had this idea that if my boyfriend and I "havent had sex yet, it will probably be awhile". I just don't want to talk to her and her to strongly disapprove causing her to watch me carefully. Even if she disapproves, I still will probably do it. I want to have sex to build up our relationship more than it already is. Its obviously a horny thing also, I'm 15. Its just not the only reason and certainly the most important. Anyway, she's pretty used to getting what she wants, because she's adorable. So last weekend, my old high school ex( we're still friends) was visiting us last weekend. I put her to bed at 8:15, at 8:30 she came out of her bed and came to the TV area where my friend and I were. Me: Squirt where are you going? Her: I want a popsicle Me: No popsicles, it's past your bedtime. Her: I want pudding * stomps her foot * Ex: Oh c'mon, look at that face, C'mon sweetie * takes her by the hand, gets her a popsicle. Her: Daddy look, * as she's eating the popsicle Me: Yeah I see, say thank you to Nikki( ex) for undermining me. She finished her late night sweet and went to bed, I was still kind of mad. I'm the parent, I said no, and I was basically disregarded, maybe I'm overreacting. I just don't want my daughter thinking that when Daddy says " No" she can still do whatever |

No one in our family is good at math so she gets it honest. I just want to help her feel better about doing math. When she doesn't know an answer she says that she is confused and sometimes she knows the answer but she will not say anything because she is scared to get it wrong. Math was and still is a hard subject for me I used to do most of what she is doing (now that I am older not so much) , so I know how she feels and I don't want her to feel that way. I know that she can do it, it will just take her some time. When I help her, I try to make it fun instead of it being so boring. Is there anything I can do to make her more confident about learning it? I just really want to make her feel better about learning it. It breaks my her to see her struggle. |

He was widowered when I met him and his daughter was 13. Things were tough and the years we were married while she was still at home were the hardest years of my life. I've always done my best to be friendly and there for her. I wanted us to get along, even just as friends. But that never happened. Now she's 22 and has a two year old daughter who we've never met. My husband has called her several times and asked her if we could visit and she always says no. However, she was open to him flying over alone and seeing her daughter. He said he would but then something came up and she cancelled. It broke my husbands heart. She agreed again and said this time that she didn't want anything from me or my name on any card or anything he may or may not give her daughter. This time, my husband said he wanted me there and she snapped and told him to go to hell. Since that last discussion, my husband found out she's expecting no. 2 and has become withdrawn. I feel so bad for him but I don't know what to do. If I were to try and call at her, she'd either hang up or curse me out. Any words of advice? |

She believes the Bible is law, she believes Jesus's word is above authority, she sees how boys/girls "should" look/act/behave on TV and judges others (including me) based on this, and she loves to control things beyond her control (my brother's wedding preparations and stuff like that). So I have a pretty opinionated mother. I know my mother-in-law is pretty opinionated too but we don't speak to her (serious silent treatment between my wife and her parents - yes judgmental related)... I really don't understand why these 50/60 something year old women have to be so judgmental... But it really doesn't matter WHY they are judgmental, how do I cope when MY mother is overstepping her boundaries into my marriage or my personal life? I've recently re-opened my Facepalm account so I can start promoting the positive things going on in my marriage, my family, my job, and my life, and my mom decided to take her negative opinions in my comment section and harass me about the length of my hair (it goes past my shoulders now). I don't think she understands how disrespectful this is since she thinks her opinions are just messages from God or some crap like that; so besides filtering her out of my life, I don't know how to be me with an opinionated mother constantly telling me and my wife how to act/behave/think/feel/parent... How did you cope with a mother or mother-in-law prying into your marriage/life/parenting? And then people wonder why I *obsess* about learning how respect, boundaries, trust, and confidence works..... She was naive and a little stupid to have kids so young with someone so old but so was my dad for vice versa. It's so embarrassing I hate it when people ask how old my dad is because he's too old, but when they ask both my parents' age I get even more embarrassed and scared to answer. Like it's not my fault! Do you buy the baby a gift? My brother's sister did this and she did NOT buy a gift. Our child is over a year old and she has yet to do anything for her. Christmas and birthday came and went. She's coming for another visit and if she doesn't bring anything again I want to say something. Not be mean but say SOMETHING. What does Yahoo think? Sorry, I should have mentioned that she does not have children yet. She really doesn't spend much time with our daughter either (never babysat, changed her, etc) Saying "my presence is the gift" seems kind of high-and-mighty to me. I'm not the kind of person who wouldn't acknowledge her baby when she has one (they're trying) and wouldn't it be kind of childish to be all "she didn't buy my child a gift so I'm not buying hers one"? It's not the child's fault the mom is rude... Also, when she stays we foot the entire bill. 3 meals a day, any outings, etc. She is like a child. She is also a DOCTOR. Last update - it's not just that she doesn't bring my child a gift. She doesn't bring anything for anyone. My parents have had her over for dinner and she never says thanks or even brings wine or anything. She just expects people to put her up for free. I love both of my nephews but even since the one turned 2 years old he s become a complete brat! And yes I m aware of the terrible 2 s but his mother does nothing about his behavior. He s 3 going on 4 in the summer and he walks around saying bad words, hitting (his mother, his little brother, and sometimes me!), he refuses to use the toilet but throws a fit everytime someone has to change his diaper, and he s just overall disrespectful. My sister does nothing about his behavior and rarely goes through with her punishments for him; he basically rules the house. It makes me not want to go over there because of how terrible he is. Everytime when I watch my stepfather tell my mom how stupid we are I want to stand up to him but my mom gives me a pleading look not to because she thinks it will make it worse. Last night for example, he went was yelling and calling us stupid, telling mom he wants her to pay his debt (she makes thousands of more dollars than he does, he married her for her money) and he was throwing dishes and kicking things. When I was 11, I've noticed that my cousins always called me their sister. I didn't make it a big deal at the time I just thought it was because we were close. Well later I was curious so I asked my grandma why they called me there sister, and her response was, "Because you are." I was shocked and I asked how was I their sister because im their cousin. She told me that we have the same father. He found me on Facebook when I was 16 and sent me a message asking how I was doing, telling me he love me, and he gave me his number. I never called. My mom gave him her number so he could contact me but I never wanted to talk because I didn't know how to respond. Well now im 20, and yesterday a family friend randomly asks me if I had seen my dad and I said no. So later I was getting ready to leave the family friend's house and this man comes walking to the car and everyone yells WAIT. So we stop and he comes to my window saying, "Hey baby girl, I know you've never seen me a day in your life, but I'm your daddy." At that moment I was shocked and didn't know what to think. He said my mom sent him pictures of me and he showed me the pictures so I knew he wasn't lying. | Question: My work / school life is draining me. No time for me time.? Posted: 11 Mar 2015 06:55 AM PDT I'm just looking for people to relate to. I get up at 5:30am mon-fri (though it's admittedly getting hard to get my butt outta bed nowadays). I drive to campus and hope for a decent parking spot that'll be a 10min walk (sometimes I skateboard). Sometimes I get my spot, sometimes I don't. I'll never know until I try to park. If I don't get it, it's a 15min walk. I work at the university and can't get a parking pass because I'm a full time student too. (Coworkers park by my shop in a heated garage.) I work from 7am (sometimes 5am) until my first class. I go to class and come back to work. I wait for my gf to finish her last class so she isn't walking back to her car in the dark (our city isn't the safest). Mon and wed I'm on campus until 10pm. Tues and thurs it's 6pm. Friday it's 4pm. So I'm typically on campus from 12 to 15 hours per day. I walk to my car, drive home, usually grab food on the way, and drive my gf to her car (the 15min spot). I rarely see my family and they feel like I'm neglecting them, especially my grandparents. I feel pretty horrible about it. They don't seem to understand that I'm literally not available hardly ever. 'Nobody is THAT busy.' But I do understand that thought. I go home, do homework (which usually evolves drinking for an hour or two), then try to sleep. Managing family, my relationship, random home flooding, coworker drama, etc. I have zero friend time and no time for the hobbies I love. Do I need to toughen up, or is it okay to complain? |

I was always happy his family was involved in my kids life, especially my son. I figured it was good for him to have his grandpa and his uncles show him how to be a guy. Lately, specially since he turned 18 he has been really disrespectful. Last night he stuck his finger in my face and told me about some of the things he did with his grandpa and uncles that I never heard about. A few things he is flat out not allowed to do, and one time where his uncles and grandpa covered for him. He is 18 now. Legally I can't do anything to them and if I kick him out of the house he will just run to grandpa and his life won't change one bit, it would even be worse for me because he will think "that *itch kicked me out but they took me in when I needed them. What can I do? I trusted them with my kids. So this is what men do? It's that whole "don't tell your mother thing. I can't stop crying I feel so betrayed by people I trusted with my kids. My son was just laughing at me last night with that whole "ha ah what are you going to do about it now" attitude. I can't even imagine what my husband must have done behind my back if this is the way those boys were raised to act. You don't understand. He is 18. I can't stop him from visiting anyone. One of the things he laughed about is that when he got his phone taken away his uncle bought him one he used on the sly. Apparently he has used the one at grandpa's house even though grandpa knew he was grounded from xbox. That is what I mean about covering for him. Maybe they want to be his hero or something. I've encouraged my children's independence from an early age, yes I have given them options. Another problem is I never spent my kids SS checks from their dad. We lived off my income and they saved for university. My son has WAY more money than me.That money wouldn't teach him a lesson about independence. Should I withdraw some or all of his money before I kick him out of the house and tell him it's for college? Then I'll pay his tuition if he goes. He'd go live with grandpa anyways. |

I'm a 15 year old guy my sister is almost 18, and my whole family has been having problems with her. of late she hasn't gone in to collage/lessons or anything, she just plays games on her computer and plays/watches stuff on her ipod. today i was looking after *her* dog because she was playing games the whole day and *her* dog hadn't had attention, so she got pissed off at me for being in her room looking after the dog. so she went into my room and tried to mess stuff up on my pc when i went in I punched her on the back (not hard i don't want to hurt her). she got really pissed off at me so she biting me scratched my face/arms/chest and then kicked me in the legs for about 5 minuets. when she was trying to hurt me i just blocked with my legs and arms(i just blocked i didn't attack because i try not to injure girls) in the end she said "let go of me" yet she was the one grabbing me so she let go of me and just stomped off. now i'm covered in scratches and bite marks. she screams at my mum who starts crying and taking everything really hard(for the last week she's tried to go to galleries (to get away from my sister). my dad trys to be a "good dad" by not getting pissed off or hitting her ever. he trys not to show it but he is very depressed inside about how she only does not do any work and is nasty to my mum. sorry for how long it is but please help me |
