So when I made a friend who doesn't go to my school I had them call me Venus. Which I adore!! But at my old school we are too far into the year to change my nickname because nobody will remember it. So at this new school, if I tell them about my nickname will everyone think its weird? How do I tell the teachers without having to explain the whole thing? |

I've been her friend ever since third grade, she was super nice and funny, but if you needed someone to be serious, she was also perfect for that. But then in fifth grade, she started to become really annoying, immature, and I can't trust her anymore because she's such a blabbermouth. She's also very inappropriate. She makes everything dirty and always talks about sex, and she has to know everything and spreads gossip and rumors. She pretends to have boyfriends (their the really ugly boys by the way) and if I try to be serious she just turns everything into jokes and insults. We have very little in common. She used to be good for everything and now it's just for a laugh. At school she's all cool or something and only pays attention to me to insult me. But outside of school she acts all nice and she always calls and texts me, which is really annoying. Sometimes I ignore them on purpose. She doesn't seem to get the hint that I don't really like her anymore. Should I keep her or tell her I don't want to be friends with her? I have other friends that are better than her that I'd rather spend time with, should I leave her? Because she probably wouldn't care if I did. |

Recently another girl joined our group and I'm pretty sure she hates me. She's always making perverted jokes which I'm starting to get sick of. Whenever we're having a conversation and I have something to say, when I say it aloud after it seems obvious that she's done talking she always interrupts me. I always have to repeat something like five times for it to be heard (which is annoying of me I know). I'm in the ninth grade, even though I'm supposed to be in the eighth, and she's in the tenth. I have always been a very gifted and bright person. Also I'm in higher classes than this girl. Today she started making jokes about me being stupid and took it WAY too far. She pointed towards a bird poop stain and saying that was my brain being splattered from lack of use. I wouldn't have taken this seriously if she hadn't have kept going on and on about it! It got taken way too far. Whenever I STARTED to say something back she said "Ha! You can't even defend yourself!" I had to leave with my other friend since I already have enough hard issues at home and I don't need a friend to act like that to me. I just want to know if there might be a reason she's acting like this. Is she jealous or mad or something? |

I can't get into the University I want to attended till the Fall. Where I'm going has non traditional student dorms and veteran dorms for people in my situation. I'm going to live on campus for the first year. I mean I've had to live in a barracks before so keeping clean is easy. I know I'm 27 but this is my fist real experience with real college and id be lying if I didn't say I was a little excited. Maybe i'm just building it up in my head because i'm finally going to get something I've always wanted. So tell me. Is it overrated? What are going to be some pros and cons? |

Every morning when I get on to it, there are boys 3 years above me who try and make me miss it. Most of the time, they give me wedgies and will do until my boxers rip. My mum has found about three pairs ripped so I had to fake that other stuff had ripped and it must have been the washing machine. I am popular in my year group so I have friends to talk to about it but it's hard for any of us to stand up to these guys. At school, I stay hidden and enjoy being by myself, working alone and accomplishing things by myself as I feel it's quicker and more efficient. Public speaking is one of my biggest fears. So my English teacher is very intimidating and pretty much everyone is scared of him... He's super mean and always will put attention on the shy kids intentionally to embarrass them. He's been picking on me since the beginning of the school year. I like working alone, even if I do work in a group I do ALL of the work due to my lazy group members. So today he said we HAVE to work with our table on some assignment and be talking the whole time. Forcefully, I did talk to the people at my table a bit, even more than other people in my class. We discussed a few things and began working on our assignment and all of a sudden he calls me out and says, "I HAVEN'T HEARD A PEEP OUT OF YOU. YOU NEED TO SPEAK. S-P-E-A-K. STOP KEEPING YOUR MOUTH SHUT AND STOP WORKING ON YOUR OWN. Do you understand?" I was so embarrassed and condused. I had spoken to my group members, they didn't seem like they wanted to do a group assignment either anyways. Pretty much the whole class wasn't talking so I don't see why he only called me out... He has been doing this for a while and saying he "hates" shy people, forcing me to always step out of my comfort zone and get major anxiety due to the attention. what should I do? *confused |

Okay, I understand that ignoring their phone calls and messages is very wrong, but... I'm that type of person who isn't social, and doesn't like talking to people over the phone, PERIOD. I don't mind texting, just not long... I'm also just handling a lot of complicated things right now (sick grandmother, deceased step-grandmother, divorce, and financial issues) I get so burnt out after talking about nothing important, and just LOVE being alone by myself... Lately there has been something on my mind - wanting a younger friend, particularly a girl. Not in a weird way, but just to connect. Of course I like my friends that are my age as I can bond with them better, but there is something inside of me that also wishes for a younger friend. I don't have many older friends, although the ones I do have, I enjoy talking to them from time to time. One of them I even met online who I enjoyed talking to greatly. I started having this feeling recently, about a week ago when I came back from my vacation. When we were leaving the resort, there was a young girl - probably 12 or 13 - and I caught her looking at me a few times. It wasn't glaring either, it was more of a curious stare. She kept staring at me a few times as well later, and it's still on my mind. I kind of miss it, to be honest. I'm not exactly sure why I'm still thinking of this girl either, I am curious why she was looking at me though. Now I kind of wish I had a younger friend, someone to bond with and teach things to. I'm also not a sociable person at all, however I feel like if I could see that girl I saw last week I would probably want to talk to her. It's odd, how someone could make me think these things. What do you guys think? |

Her actual mom died in an accident a few years back. Well she was offered to live with her work manager. which she later talked smack about her. later I bought her to my house to stay with me the weekend, but before I picked her had went to a bakery to buy some cake balls for a friend a dozen. well I went and picked up my friend 45 minutes from where I live she had called me on my way that she was buying my friends and I some food so when I got there she never bought us anything instead she only bought her self something and started eating in front of my friends and me. first she had me driving her everywhere to she could sell an x-box in order to pay her phone bill. when we got home hours later she still wanted to drive an hour away to see if we could sell her game I said no it was late. then my brother arrives with his 4 year old daughter who behaved better than my friend soon she starts making fart noises and telling my brother to stop farting then she grabs and empty 1 little soda bottle and starts to hit me and my brother and starts to laugh. I was so mad then I wanted to give my brothers baby a cake ball but when I check the box almost all of them had been eaten out of 12 3 or 4 were left she ate them. point is she is childish doesn't respect other she is 22 should I still help her? I do feel bad for her because she is having a tough time but she has two jobs never helps with gas and has us pay for her food when we go out to eat. and even has my friends who she does not know pay for her things. I just don't know if I should be helping this girl out with a place to live since she does not know how to drive and has me driving her. |

He and I live in different states (but we are not in a long distance relationship). I wanted to see him again while I was in his state two weeks ago. I sent him a text letting him know I was in town and he asked me for the address. I told him I would contact him once I got to the hotel. When I got to the hotel I asked him to come see me. He told me he was out of town but that he would be back the next day. I believe he said that because he had to work. Yet earlier that day he and I saw each other at the park. It wasn't planned we just so happened to be at the park at the same time. We walked right past each other and didn't speak then when he got far away he stopped and turned around he knew it was me. I was upset because he said he wouldn't meet me and he started calling me nonstop but I ignored his calls. Then I got drunk and wen off on him in text messages he called me again but I didn't answer. I really would like to see him again though. He told me before I came out to see him that he wasn't in the right frame of mind and that he couldn't meet me. Because he is currently going through financial issues and he has a lawsuit. I asked him if I could come back and see him and he said yes. Last week he called me a few times but I didn't answer. He asked me to send him $200.00 via western union I sent him part of it a few days ago. He said recently he switched over to gmail that he hardly ever checks his aol email anymore because it's predated. And that I just need to call him instead. (I know he's been reading my emails because I have a email tracker but he doesn't know that). We aren't Facebook friends anymore and he has be blocked because we always seem to argue about Facebook. During summer of 2015 my friend and I hung out with two guys one which I was sorta seeing and the other in which I had already been with, well that night my friend slept with my ex ( the guy I had previously seen ) at the time it really didn't bother me to much, I thought it was shady and a tad just disrespectful that she didn't run it by me but I led it slide. However further down that summer after me and the guy I was with didn't work out me and my ex ( the one my friend had slept with ) started hanging out a lot more and chose to give it another shot, now almost a year later and happy in my relationship im starting to realize how much it bothers me that they did that however I understand there's absolutely NOTHING I can do becaus the past is that past and all me and her are no longer friends but still it really does get to me. Then he told me&another girlfriend to go with him2meet his mom So we all went said hi&walked back to the bar. We stuck together for a while then we split for the rest of the night. The next day we went to a party&again as soon as i got there&everyone said hi/settledin he added me2his team for drinking games&such. Again we stuck together&then @somepoint in the night he was talking on the phone&i was with a small group just talking&he comes up to me, still on the phone, and puts his hat on my head&smiles&we do a mini conversaion in sign cause well he was still on the phone. When he hung up he says 'it looks good on you' he said it maybe another time and he asked a couple on my girlsfriends something along the lines of "doesnt my hat look good on her" so inconclusion i feel like he's just being nice and making friends because again im not really from there. Or am i being to naive, do you think he's into me? He's cute but i dont know if i want that. So be honest. Also we arent really intouch either other than he followed me on insta and i back ofcoarse. Im asking on here because all my girlfriends from there are good friends of his and i dont want to stir things up. |

We do not go to the same university, so we haven't kept in touch as often. She only spoke to me to tell me things concerning herself. She never asked me how I am, or how my life is going. If I mention something about my life she will say a few words and turn the conversation back to herself and the guys she talks to. Also, she is very negative. If I mentioned that I had a convo with a cute waiter she'd say "lol he's just doing his job. I told her that my "crush" spoke to me and she said "did he sound annoyed". After being tired and telling her that I didn't want to be treated this way, I stopped responding to her messages, and when she reached out to me half-heartedly responded. Now, whenever I tweet people, she always tweets the same people. If I compliment one of my friends on their profile pic, she likes the same persons picture and sometimes comments as well. If I don't view her snap story, she doesn't look at my snap story either. (I'm really observant LOL) Why do you think she acts this way? |

Recently I stopped talking to my best friend who I have known sense grade school. We had been long-distance besties for years, but she had begun to avoid me, sometimes not replying to my texts or calls for months. When I finally got the nerve to confront her about it, she admitted it was because she was worried that I had fallen in love with her, which would be problematic sense she has a boyfriend. The stupid part is, all I ever did was hug her. We never did anything remotely sexual together. Still, she had a point; I do love her very much. But now I am afraid to hug her, or even say the words "i love you" to her in a platonic way. I was kind of heartbroken, so I decided it would be for the best if I stopped talking to her until I figured out what I was doing to come off that way. It was the latest casualty in a series of broken friendships. I had another friend, a gay guy, who began avoiding me because he didn't want his reputation to be damaged. Again, I never so much as touched a hair on his head. Yet for some reason, people apparently thought we were dating. I'm really depressed. I'm afraid to try to make friends anymore because of this. I have never actually dated anyone before. I don't intentionally flirt with people. I'm not much of a talker. I prefer talking to people one-on-one because groups make me nervous. Mostly, when I'm with a friend, I just smile and listen. Why does this keep happening to me? |

They left me with a housemaid now in Hong Kong. Even so, I still feel very empty inside. I have some friends here in Hong Kong. But I have just acknowledged that my mum is sending me to Australia next year to be with her. That means I have to leave all my friends in Hong Kong. I mean, since my parents haven t been with me for years, my friends are like family to me. The problem is that I don t feel I m as important to my friends. Maybe my friends mean too much to me? I really can t let my friends go since they ve been with me for year when I m all alone. It s making me depressed for days. And my friends don t even know I m leaving soon. I know you would tell me that I would make new friends in Australia. But I just can t let my friends go. We have inside joke that others won t understand. We have so much in common that I don t think I can find substitutes of my friends. I m having mixed feelings right now. Feeling anxious and empty. And I just hate the feeling of saying goodbyes to my friends or to anyone. BTW, I m 16. |

I recently, at my request, moved to Mississippi to live with my dad and stepmom because my biological mom has drug problems and has been a very inconsistent mom (to say the least). I love her, but my dad and stepmom have always been there for me. and I needed stability. Before I made the decision to move here, my dad and stepmom warned me that they still believed in spanking as a last resort even at my age. I was kind of shocked, but really wanted to move in here, and (since I rarely get in any trouble) wasn't all that concerned. We have no school today (teacher work day) and this morning I got in big trouble for something that I, in all fairness, deserved to be in trouble for. But I was still flabbergasted when dad had my stepmom take me out back and bust my behind. She didn't leave any bruises or "hurt" me or anything like that, but she did light me up something good and the pain was/is very intense. I'm just kind of shocked. I know that they love me, I'm NOT looking to turn them in or get them in any trouble (regardless of the answer to this question), but this is so far from my cultural norms that I have to ask, are they even legally allowed to do this? Is it fair at all? I just never really saw this happening at my age, and it all went down so suddenly.... |

He is out of the Operating Room and is in critical but stable condition. They didn't even call me or wave to me. It's not about getting jealous but I just want to know why. Every time we work in pairs for a project, he gets all the attention and congrats from people as if he made everything. To conclude, he gets more attention than me although we have the same character. So should I continue my friendship with him and stay like that ( not being noticed) or should I start re building my own character and showing people who I really am without staying with him? We have lived together before back in 2012 and all we did was argue a lot and then have I guess what you call make up sex. Yes we had sex but we still call ourselves just friends. She is sleeping in her car right now and she just moved back from Houston. She left Houston to come back to where I live to sleep in her car. It's not like she didn't have options. She had places she could have went but refused to go because of certain situations. I love her to death, but I hate that she complains that she has to sleep in her car when she is the one who chose to do it. She had a friend that she could have stayed with and only paid 250 a month. Yes she wasn't really able to cook there like she wants but it's better than being in the your car sleeping. I tried to tell her to stay in Houston but she doesn't listen to anything. She is very stubborn and she blames me saying if I would have gotten an apartment with her she wouldn't have to be in her car. I don't know why she moved back to sleep in her car and take a job that pays her less than she was making in Houston. It's crazy man and she does crazy things. We are together everyday. When we first started hanging out it didn't bother me but eventually I got tired of seeing her everyday. Till this day we always argue about something or whatever. I just don't wanna live with her. |

Do you care what people say on the internet or do you consider them just a window you can always close? One of my old classmates said the reason why she always liked chatting with me on the internet but not in class is that I'm just an "online buddy" and she has "real life" friends but apparently, I am not one of those friends. We get along so well online and that's why I asked her how come we never talk in class. I guess the internet and real life do not fall under the same category of seriousness? |
